eds how much do you think lassana diara would cost to prize him from real? {Ed002's Note - I really don't know what they would want for him - the teens in euros perhaps.}

Thank you! I'm not the only one who thinks he would be a great signing for us!

Lewis the Red

To be fair hes not a bad player ,very fast and good on the ball, brilliant passer ....wicked left foot and can play in a lot of positions in midfield and defense ,hes just not been playing regularly enough. Brilliant site by the way!

07 Jul 2012 22:29:40
Keita on a free eds? {Ed002's Note - He has said he is not interested in a move to Liverpool.}

Yes, thank you god he won't be joining :).

ARSED !! Get a grip u sad people!!

Redthroughandthrough

I thought He had agreed terms with a team in China?

Keita is off to China mate.

I saw Borini play in the championship for Swansea. He came on as a sub for the last half hour and was rubbish. Chased shadows for 30 minutes. I also saw nothing from Swansea that day that suggested they passed the ball well and moved with attacking flair - quite the opposite. Clearly Borini may have developed a great deal in the last 2 years, but I for one wouldnt be crying in my corn flakes if we didnt sign him.

I totally disagree I watched Borini for Swansea plenty of times and he's a fantastic talent and had pace and moved well with and without the ball he would be a fantastic signing for us

Your post fills me with hope more than anything, that Brendan Rodgers was able to influence and improve Swansea's style and quality so quickly. Hope he can do the same for us.

He scored 6 goals in 9 appearances at swansea which you can hardly say is poor

UMMM yeah hes not that good am afraid chaps ,he will be a bench player anyway if he did come...carrol and suarez both to score over 12 goals each would me for next seaon!

How many games featuring Borini have you watched in the last 2 years? Was Prandelli taking the p**s when he included him in his Euro squad?

I totally agree. I believe he is average, nothing special and the price I have heard some people say seems way too high.

Gljosh

Well I have seen him play all of Swansea games and he was class even messi has a quiet game

If he is a fantastic talent then why did Chelsea let him go for 1m only a year ago? Aren't we missing the point here?

Lewis the Red

It takes alot for a striker to come on to change a game, a striker may do nothing for 89 minutes but then be in the right place to tap in an easy finish n then he earns his salary, owen has done it werever he goes, u play him he scores, i see borini a different way, but effective no doubt, andy will throw himself about in the box this year, with suarez yo his right, and maybe borini to his left? Or ramirez? Or even maybe downing but i see a signing for the wings, i dont think borini is a player we are going for, but talented no doubt

I was at The Hawthorns years ago when a certain unknown at the time Stevie Heighway came on as sub for the last 15 minutes and kept tripping over the ball.
Thought he'll never make! remember it clearly. "How wrong can you be?"
kidmillions

This one game is obviously enough to judge the lad's capabilities in full.

There is no way that Borini is coming to Liverpool. Sturridge, G. Ramirez, Muniain and Affellay are more realistic than Borini. That is a fact. Borini is not even considered to be good enough by Liverpool, for Liverpool. End of.

Thanks

Kam

Wen borini was at Chelsea they rated him more then sturridge

You are clueless !

Wen Borini was at Chelsea, Chelsea sold him

Thanks

Kam {Ed002's Note - Chelsea did not sell him. He refused a new deal because Chelsea would not give him the commitments he wanted.}

Have a feeling you may have egg on your face with this one kam

I would like to make people aware that my OPINION is that the closest Borini will come to Liverpool is the friendly we play against Roma in Boston. This is a poor rumour that was started by a poor newspaper which then was carried on by another poor newspapaer and then so on. Rodgers is not manager of Swansea, Reading, or Watford anymore. His targets and transfer budget has changed enormously! He his manager of Liverpool now. Borini is not Liverpool quality. He is not even Prem quality. Chelsea got rid and swansea didnt take take him when they got promoted. Consider this poor journalism. Gaston Ramirez however.......

Personally , due to Rodgers style of play I dont expect us to sign an out and out striker. I think he will sign more versatile winger/attacker types, i.e, Ramirez, Muniain, Affellay etc

Thanks

Kam

Also if he was THAT good then Chelsea would have given him the 'commitments he wanted.' Lets see if Chelsea do the same with Josh McEachran, who I believe they DO rate unlike Borini who was their equivalent to our very own Dani Pacheco.....Good but not good enough. Rant over

Thanks

Kam {Ed002's Note - McEachran is not demanding playing time. You seem to not be able to grasp any of this.}

Hey Kam, end of what? Liverpool may, or may, not sign Borini but BR does rate him. Where are you making your information up from?

I understand completely what you are saying. And I understand where you are coming from. However, my point is why should it need to get to a stage where a player is 'begging' for playing time? If a player is good enough he will break in to the team. If a player starts dictating then the club will cut their losses if they feel he is just 'another player'. Is that not right? My point is that if Borini was any good he would still be at Chelsea (no playing time i get it) or another club would have shown interest (other Roma/Parma and Liverpool.)

Thanks

Kam {Ed002's Note - He would not sign a contract without commitments and teh club would not give them. There are no hidden messages in this.}

Macca seems to think that Borini is a target, as far as I am aware Macca is a bit closer to the knowledge we all seek than you Kam...

I agree, he's not good enough I've watched him many times and can't see how he could hold a 20 mil transfer value by Roma

Kam you really are clueless Swansea didn't take him because he already signed with another club prior to the championship playoff final , get your facts right before you end a statement with fact . Muppet

I have never claimed to be in the know and I, like most others appreciate and look forward to what Macca and the Eds have to say on ANYTHING regarding Liverpool......This post was based on my opinion.......nothing more.....nothing less.....

Also no hard feelings Ed002. Thanks for the knowledge on Borinis contract issues at chelsea too. Appreciated ;)

Thanks

Kam

I hope Borini is not just another expensive Italian handbag (like Aquilini)

Why in your OP do you make out you KNOW we have no interest even using the word fact and say hes not considered good enough by Liverpool end of. Then once someone proves you havn't got a clue its just your opinion

What price would borini and Allen be ed?
If I'm honest I don't think they are close to good enough to play for Liverpool. Do you think the price would be over 10 million for each of them. {Ed002's Note - We don't want to get tied up discussing prices too much as agent fees, wages, tax etc. have to be considered.}

07 Jul 2012 21:25:52
Hi, is there any interest from Liverpool in the young Serb matija nastasic from fiorentina, only 19 and is dubbed the "new nemanja vidic", also heard that arsenal and united were interested in him in the past, obviously won't come cheap but a great addition if we are to build for the future! Cheers PP {Ed002's Note - None that we know of.}

07 Jul 2012 21:28:53
Hey eds, could you see kaka coming to anfield? He would add creativity and a cutting edge in the final third! Cheers YNWA {Ed002's Note - The issue would be his wages which have already proven an issue in a player exchange deal.}

I thought he was going to PSG

Which exchange deal in particular were you referring to Ed002 ?
Redman {Ed002's Note - Lucas Moura.}

If Mordic join Real then Kaka may change his mind as his playing chance will be very little there. agree with ed that wages is a big issue.

I think that's why Br was in Spain 2 weeks ago.

07 Jul 2012 19:57:58
Hi Eds

Are there any clubs interested in steafan de vrij or dejan lovren?

Thanx

Mackie {Ed002's Note - Nothing solid I know of.}

Lovren said on Croatian TV he's staying put for this season.

07 Jul 2012 21:12:36
I have a bad feeling that the rumours linking us to borini (20 mil) and strurrage (10 mil)are potential replacements for suarez. Hope it is not a case of signing a few strikers before Suarez is sold. If liverpool sell Suarez before any signings are made this will increase the value of any replacements and won't attract quality players!!

Chris the red

Borini will be closer to £7m, and it has bugger all to do with Suarez, who is staying.

I just have a bad feeling Sturridge is joining the club regardless.

Lewis the Red

Get a life all of u we aint got the money to keep up with the big boys so all ur so callled transfers are not going to happen y did we end up with br cos no one else wanted us hicks and gillet all over again open your eyes shanckly gates mean nothing to the yanks ynwa always a red die a red

Your inisght suggests that you have enough creds to at least manage the club, with you in control we will be financiall sound, too bad no one within LFC is paying attention to you.

xk

Mate we only have 2 first team strikers

There is no way borini is worth 20 million all day posters have been saying borini for 20 million the days of lfc overpaying for players are over as the sigurdson deal proves so their is no way we would pay 20 million for borini
giblet

Wat do u mean we aint got the money suarez 22.5 carroll 35 henderson 20 downing 16 but ur right they are terrible owners i hate fans like u just fake

Those would be slightly better if they were swapped over. Liverpool will never pay £20m for Borini unless he suddenly shows signs of becoming another Torres (not likely) and chelsea will demand alot more than £10m for sturridge...

Thanks

Kam

You should cut yourself

Hi all, just wondering what happened to L. De Jong? One minute he seemed destined to join and now it's gone totally cold. Any ideas why?
I can only think either he's not actually that good, or he's a bit arrogant, or demanding too much cash?

One word Dalglish

He isnt that good. A 30 yr old Kuyt and a 21 yr old De Jong are very similar to be honest, however De Jongs age should allow him to improve and hopefully become a good investment but Liverpool, Spurs and a few other big clubs who were originally interested in him do not believe he has the ability to improve that much to become a good investment. Personally i have always thought he was average but made to look good in a poor league. Simples

Thanks

Kam

He was Kennys target. They want £15mil which has put people off.

Considering Aqua wants to leave, and Fiorentina had a miserable season, and lost Montolivo to Juentus, what are the chance of a cash + Aqua deal for Jovetic?

Lewis the Red. {Ed002's Note - Slim.}

Jovetic will v likely not be joining as he wants CL football. Would suit our new system as a wide forward, but only chance we have is if no-one else decent goes in for him.

Slim compared to a size zero model? :)

Montolivo went to AC Milan

07 Jul 2012 19:56:00
Still good interest in boudebouz things gone quiet {Ed002's Note - Ryad Boudebouz will leave Sochaux with Real Betis and Lyon showing an interest. Way back in the day interest was shown by PSG, Spurs and Liverpool and certainly both made tentative enquiries. Lyon would seem to be the most likely destination right now.}

07 Jul 2012 20:49:42
Hi peeps I don't know how true this isor if any one has heard the same but apparently BR wants to bring in Jeremy menez? Carl

Never lived up to early potential and isn't a grafter - something v v important for a BR player.

I think he's a qualit creative player, but can't really see him leaving PSG.

07 Jul 2012 20:06:09
Hi Eds,

Do you know of any interest in Roberto Firmino?

Thanks,
Teejay {Ed002's Note - No, not that I am aware.}

07 Jul 2012 20:03:26
I live in the same town in Northern Ireland where Brendan Rodgers is from. My dad frequently drinks in the pub with Brendan Rodgers brother, his brother says he is very close to Brendan and has told my dad that Liverpool are on the verge of signing Fabio Borini from Roma, and that the deal should go through before next Friday.

If your from Carnlough, then you wouldn't be calling it northern ireland.
derryred

Lol... Im from Dungannon in Northern Ireland and brendan is frOm carnlough and he calls out wee country NOrthern Ireland... Gud man king brendy YNWA!

Hi eds, just been listening to radio 909 and they interviewed an Italian journalist who advised that Liverpool have placed a very strong bid for fabulous borini - I know his ownership has just been resolved but he said many Italian clubs are in need of cash injections including Roma. Do you think there is any truth in this? Thanks nick {Ed002's Note - I answered earlier that I suspect the player would not want to return to England so soon. But of course a bid can still be placed.}

Ed002 - last point on this subject. You stated that a bid could still be placed. Do you believe this journalist, that we have actually placed a bid, as you didn't discount it? {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of what the journalist has said. A bid may have been placed but I don't know of it at all. I would still suspect the player would not be keen on a return to England this soon.}

07 Jul 2012 18:57:33
Hey Eds,

Has there been any more news on Belhanda? Seemed to be some interest before the euros (or just journo speculation) but everything's gone quiet. Was there ever any interest from Liverpool?

Thanks
El Benito {Ed002's Note - There is confirmed interest in Belhanda from Malaga, Inter, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal and PSG and there is unconfirmed interest from Roma. The player says he wishes a move to Italy or Germany with Bayern Munich or Dortmund or to play for PSG if Italy Germany is not possible (seems he is not really sure where he wants to move to). A price of 30M euros has been quoted by Montpellier who really do not want to sell and right now it looks like he will be staying in teh South of France.}

07 Jul 2012 18:52:19
Eds, sly twitter account (transfer clock watch) says that alons is eyeing a return to Liverpool after admitting he misses Liverpool, any truth in this? Thanks {Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}

It's a fake account

I seriously doubt a spanish player, playing for the spanish champions, having just won the euros with spain misses life in liverpool to be honest.

According to the eds, Alonso may return to Liverpool but not this summer. Maybe, next summer.

SUMON VAI

Wishful thinking is an understatement. That would be a massive step down for him now, though it pains me to say so! Unlikely we will be looking for any more CMs once Gaston is here. Midfield will be Lucas, Gerrard and Ramirez with Hendo and Adam as primary back up. Shelvey could stay as further back up or perhaps go on loan to make sure he has regular competitive games and Speo will be sold or loaned out to be sold next summer. Could see more of Coady this year too as he is the natural back up to Lucas in the DM position that BR employs.

07 Jul 2012 18:19:39
High eds love the site. 2 things I just wanted to ask. I do feel we need a defensive midfielder & deep lying playmaker what with Lucas unlikely to be fit, coupled with 2 wingers. ED002 said Madrid are likely to sell a couple of midfielders. Another attacking midfielder couldn't hurt either. I'm just gonna list options I think could be good buys ; Lass Diarra, Borjan Valero, Bryan Ruiz & Estaban Granero. What do you guys think? Thanks.

Lewis the Red. {Ed002's Note - Diarra, Kaka, Granero and Altintop are the midfield players likely to leave.}

Eds, will gerrard not be used as a defensive midfielder? if rodgers brings in the tiki taka play then gerrard would suit the role perfectly...if we are after an attacking midfielder it makes sense. {Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}

Gerrard is wasted as a defensive midfielder. Plenty of them knockin around only one Gerrard.

Sorry, but Bryan Ruiz is rubbish.

If Bryan Ruiz is rubbish then Walcott and Sturridge are chemical waste. Was linked with Arsenal and Spurs lasts season too.

Lewis the Red

07 Jul 2012 18:46:41
chamakh off to fiorentina that could lead jovetic off to liverpool

Or Chelsea, or Spurs, or Arsenal or any number of other teams he's been linked with. It would be fantastic if he came here, but I think the chances are pretty slim

Not a good replacement then.

07 Jul 2012 18:29:02
eds is there any chance of liverpool buying sandro off spurs as backup 4 lucas and do liverpool have any interest in any other defensive mids? cheers {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest in Sandro from Liverpool.}

Not a chance of him leaving spurs!

And why would we possibly want Sandro, he's rubbish

Here here ....he is rubish,not lived up to his big price tag spurs payed for him.

Rubbish?? fella, your an idot!

Sandro as back up for lucas , why not start sandro hes far better

Lass Diarra

07 Jul 2012 18:14:37
Hello Eds, would there be any chance of Vidal from Juventus this summer?

SR YNWA {Ed002's Note - I would not expect him to be sold.}

Not Sassoon mate !!

Much love

I wouldn't have thought Vidal sold so soon, even though he's head & shoulders above many. I think he would make the cut though!

Not sassoon anyway ;-)

07 Jul 2012 18:02:22
ED002- would it be fair to say you have changed your stance on Gaston Ramierez. Is this because there's been some info or are you softening for the masses? {Ed002's Note - No - my stance stays the same. He is an option as I have said all along and certainly Liverpool had him looked at. The most recent information I have is that Bologna are still in discussions with two clubs and there may be lingering interest from Manchester City and Napoli. Pablo Betancourt has explained the situation from his perspective and says that there are discussions with the same two clubs. If Liverpool have agreed terms with the club and the player today then I know nothing of it.}

Ed002's opinion has been the same for a while "he is an option for Liverpool but i am unsure whether an approach has been made" in fact hes said it so many times its boring. pwhhhhhh

R@

Ed are the 2 clubs having discussions Napoli and city? Or 2 other clubs

Cheers pal {Ed002's Note - Two others (Juventus and Wolfsburg) and this has been done to death.}

07 Jul 2012 17:00:18
Sky reporting that Hoilett in contact with 5 EPL clubs.. QPR, Newcastle, Everton, Spurs and Liverpool.. Borussia Monchengladbach still in pole position though.

Just passing on what Ive heard, BR has a definite interest in Nuri Sahin and the fact that he is close to Mourinho may or may not help the transfer if Liverpool decide to press ahead with the deal. Obviously the player will ultimately dictate his destiny but from what I can gather AC Milan and Bayern are in the box seats if he decides he wants to leave Real. But as I say from what ive been told from a Spanish soccer agent and he could possibly be spinning me a yarn we are definitely interested. Maybe a back up if Ramires falls through?? Miami_Red

You don't go from Real Madrid to Liverpool it's to big a step down now.

Brilliant - all made up, my favourite part is the completely pointless bit:

"the fact that he is close to Mourinho may or may not help the transfer"

So what was the point of even mentioning it, if it may or may not help?

Love people that sit in their homes just thinking these things up.

Rennie

by the way the fact that BR knows Mourinho doens't mean we'll be getting Benzema anytime soon.............. but it also doesn't mean we won't! You heard it here first!!

ha ha ha ha

Ramirez and sahin are two complete different players.

cheers

phil f

Give the guy a break, what he is saying is no different to what alot of Liverpool fans say when talking about Ramirez joining the club because he knows sauez and Coates.

Spurs tried to get him as part of the modric deal! hr doesnt want to leave madrid not for spurs not for no-one!

Morientes went from real to us

I really cant believe the vitriolic nature of the people on this site! WHY WOULD i WASTE MY TIME TYPING FALSEHOODS? Im a 39 year old man with a life...I was only passing on what I heard...It may not be true but this was a rumour/banter forum last time I checked!! Sahin and Ramires are similar players both playing in the hole...I watched Sahin for Dortmund and Penarol many times they are essentially alike hole players that drift...Guys I know my football please dont be so condascending! Miami_Red

What a job of rubbish! The fact you've put you know your football sums you up! Lol. By the way ramires is a box to box player if you mean the Chelsea one, if not and you meant bologna one ramirez then at least spell his name right football genius!

07 Jul 2012 16:00:53
kalou and elia off the list but one time target bastos is up for transfer what do you think about bastos

Too old

I hope this is a joke

Better then downing

Would be as competition with Enrique as BR employs v attacking full/wing backs, rather than a forward, but his wage demands will likely be too much for BR to have any real interest.

07 Jul 2012 15:49:25
CNN and Gazetta dello sports reporter @tancredipalmeri :

There are some important updates about Ramirez and Liverpool.Nothing like 'Yes,they buy'or'no,they don't'.But it is a new situation ,Liverpool talked again with Bologna,hoping the request of 20m € would start to decrease.But Bologna answered again with same price,bcs (1)" meanwhile,Napoli (much more than Juventus)asked infos about Ramirez,and showed interest,so Bologna was assured in policy of keeping price" But,this time,Liverpool didn't said no,and asked time - some days to valuate the situation and definitely come next week with a bid." That's because,so far,actually the only official bid received by Bologna for Ramirez is 13m € from Wolfsburg(immediately turned down)" So,likely next Wed, #lfc should come with first official bid.If - if - will be close to the 20m €,then talks will turn into negotiations

just copy'd and paste this from a source

thanks
don D

From twitter! We've all read it! Source! Ha ha
Bridgy07

Good try Don but yes, I suspect most of us have seen this tweet.

Can't be a real source as the spelling and grammar used is terrible.

Two Uruguayan journalists - Rodrigo Romano and Edward Pinon - claim that Liverpool will complete the signing of Bolgona attacker Gaston Ramirez this weekend.

Posting on his Twitter feed last night, Romano - a football journalist who works for channel VTV Uruguay - said "Based on the information I have, Liverpool will sign Gaston Ramirez this weekend for 20 million Euros"

Edward Pinon, the Editor of Uruaguayan newspaper 'El Pais' also confirmed that Ramirez is a done deal, stating on Twitter that a fee of £16m (€20m) had been agreed.

Pinon and Romano are respected journalists so there's no reason to think they would make any of this up.

Problem is Bologna deny this and say Napoli are now also interested. Maybe they are just trying to push up the price.Hope we get him, looks tasty.

I'm sure Pinon was the journalist that broke the news of Coates' transfer, and kept everybody up to date via Twitter. Hope he's correct again.

He is that same journalist.

Deal likely, but not that close yet as the Italians know they have time to push the price up a bit more while BR will likely pay a little more as he will want Ramirez signed in time for Euro registration. Deal within 2 weeks rather than 2 days methinks.

The fact that they are journalists surely means they are likely to make many things up? And doesn't mentioning players from Uruguay and Liverpool (a club who has 2 players from Uruguay) make it more likely that, as journalists from Uruguay, they will get more followers/readers? I'm not sure how they would, being in Uruguay, have the inside scoop on a transfer originating in Italy. Coates' transfer was markedly different to this potential transfer of Ramirez. I'd like us to get him but from the news i've heard he looks set to remain in Italy (keep an eye out for Inter coming in for him, thats what I have been told).

Hi eds

Are we still in for de Jong? {Ed002's Note - I don't think so. He will likely go to Borussia Monchengladbach or Newcastle.}

07 Jul 2012 15:14:54
Even if Reina leaves we wont be getting Lloris. He is off to Arsenal.

Spurs

Spurs are the only team to make an offer which they will raise

Why would arsenal buy him when they alreaady have schezsny

07 Jul 2012 14:56:16
eds any interest from liverpool in radja nainggolan of cagliari? {Ed002's Note - Zenit St Petersburg are likely to make a bid for Nainggolan.}

Ed002 - I marvel at your knowledge of the game/players and/or contacts! I've never heard of this player before and your telling us where he's heading. Fair play mate

Curtiss

07 Jul 2012 14:54:06
Ed with us missing out on Sigurdsson, do you see us signing Rasmus Elm or possibly Christian Eriksen. Thanks.

Red Viking {Ed002's Note - There has been interest in Elm and so it is possible. Eriksen is not going to happen this year.}

07 Jul 2012 14:49:42
Ben smith from the bbc just tweeted that we have not opened/ are not in talks with bologna over gaston Ramirez.
He has got most things right including Rodgers becoming manager and Sigurðsson going to us then to spurs before most people reported or heard about it.
I know one of the problems of twittter is that most of it is bs but...
Bean

Everyone is wrong sometimes

Ben Smith , BBC , they very rarely get anything right.

You should always remain skeptical about things posted on twitter even if they sound credible and wait until the club announces signings only then will you know its true.

YorkshireRed

07 Jul 2012 14:39:01
Ed do you see us signing Ramirez and Sturridge

Limerick Red {Ed002's Note - Well Ramirez is certainly a possibility. Sturridge, perhaps but there has been no approach yet.}

Ed002 how can you say without a doubt that there has been no approach for sturridge, are you BR, because if you are not BR you would not know {Ed002's Note - I can say that as of this time Liverpool has not made an approach for Sturridge.}

07 Jul 2012 13:57:15
Well ed, what's the story with dan sturridge, is there even a chance or contact , or is it someone trying to get our hopes up. {Ed028's Note - talks will be held with his future & there is interest in liverpool & tottenham}

I know whatit is he has meningitus lol

Hey ed you said "in" liverpool or spurs so does that mean that is interested in a move here if he leaves chelsea. i think he is a good player but needs to give the ball off more. {Ed028's Note - there is interest in sturridge from liverpool & tottenham but he needs to have talks about his future with chelsea first before any negotiating will begin}

We need to improve and Cheski cast off Sturridge is not the answer. No more British players required at the moment.
kidmillions

Ed, think the interst from spurs is more paper than club? according to a friend of mine they are after an un-named player, which is their no1 target, damiao, remy and adebayor who is willing to take a huge pay cut in order to join the club, although malaga have now entred the bidding!

07 Jul 2012 13:51:05
eds are liverpool interested in lars/sven bender or sengalese Serigne Kara of tromso {Ed002's Note - There was previous interest in Lars Bender - nothing I know of now.}

07 Jul 2012 13:46:27
Is it true that turkish side Fenerbache have offered 6 million pounds for Aquilani? That would be a great deal. {Ed002's Note - They have an interest in the player.}

6 million return on a player that cost us the best part of 20 million ? Are you having a Fackin bubble mate !
London Red Man

Mate only take 15 million!

Aquilani really doesn't want to play in England, but it might be preferable to him to stay put rather than go to Fenerbahce if BR has faith in him. Next couple of weeks of training will give BR a better idea. There will be little in the way of sales til early August.

Iknow what you mean about a great deal but what a waste of money.

Bill

07 Jul 2012 13:18:29
We have held talks with hoilett in the last few weeks along with tottenham qpr Everton and rangers but the german side are still favourites to land him

Rangers?? I very much doubt that

Just saying what i herd ssn are sayin it aswell now

07 Jul 2012 13:06:11

BR on TalkSport 'I very much keep my own counsel and it is certainly the Liverpool way to do that. 'I am looking to potentially bring in some players that can really affect the group.'

Targets:
Barcelona's Ibrahim Affellay, L/Winger 8.1 million- 26-year-old attacking midfielder. Wants First Team Football and has recovered from Knee injury

21 year-old Gaston Ramirez.- Bologna FC, Central midfielder- intelligence passer of ball

Luis Suarez may leave if the price is right?

Daily Express reported lfc have signed striker Fabio Borini for £20 million- 21-year-old - Roma - Italian

Borini. 20 million. Really?? Next you will tell me we paid 35 mill. For Andy Carroll.... Oh..... {Ed028's Note - thats not what is wanted}

I'd be very happy with this if it were to happen, not the Suarez bit though. There any reason why Carra could cover DM if Lucas were to have further issues? He can play most defensive positions...

You can't say on one hand that Rodgers keeps his own counsel (ie: Not letting the press know what's going on behind closed doors) and then take it away with the other hand by listing a number of targets that have come from the press.

One or the other my friend.

Tristan

Suarez going nowhere , pledged future to lfc , others are believable

Yet another poor deluded fool , who actually thinks he is BR , and not only knows LFC transfers , but then tells a rumour site ? i do hope you keep taking your meds mate !

Think we need someone a bit more creative than jaimie carragher

HOW MANY TIMES......Roma have just payed Parma for the full rights of Borini,..........Borini even stated he was allways happy at roma aswell,get it in ur head ,,,, he aint coming!

This is just a round up of all the roumours doing the rounds

Liverpool have been alerted after Barcelona revealed that David Villa coud be available due to Barcelonas interest in Robin van Persie. Should Barcelona persue there interest then Villa will become available. Liverpool have asked to be kept informed of the situation

Wages way too high for what LFC would offer.
FowlerGod.

No chance what a crock

Do u actually believe anyone really thinks this is correct ? poor deluded fool

No they havent

What i don't understand is why do the Ed's let this get posted ? even if barca get van persie and villa was put up for sale AND he wanted to play in england he would still NOT join liverpool , reason ? wages over the roof , he's at the 30 mark , torres would talk him into joining chelsea and we had the chance to sign him , david silva and juan mata and we chose not to ( boy was that a mistake) !!

Some people really should have their keyboards taken off them.

07 Jul 2012 12:47:46
hi eds, what wingers, defensive mids and strikers are liverpool interested in or monitoring? thanks
{Ed002's Note - Search for the Transfer Summary.}

07 Jul 2012 12:37:36
What to do with joe cole?
Some people have said keep him as long as he takes a wage cut.
What would be better is if he stayed and justified his wages.
Anybody else think he can be an important squad player next season? I don't see him starting much but he can obviously be a threat coming off the bench if used right. Right?
Will he fit into brendans style of play?

MIKEY {Ed002's Note - He has a contract so I doubt a wage cut is going to happen. Right now it looks like he is staying.}

He seems determined to succeed, so let's give him a chance and get behind him.

07 Jul 2012 12:30:37
Eds do you know of any interest in Theo Walcott? {Ed002's Note - Not right now but if he were to decide to leave Arsenal there may well be.}

He should go to Man City with the rest of EX Arsenal

07 Jul 2012 12:22:50
Ed 02 are we still interested in Nordveit to cover the DM role.I think he would be a good squad addition for a role we struggled covering last season.I know we've been linked with him, but would be interested in your informed opinion. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool showed interest in Nordtveit back in January and recent enquiries from PSG and Sunderland has seen Borussia Monchengladbach activate an extension to his contract. It has been suggested in Germany that Liverpool still maintain an interest but this remains unconfirmed to my knowledge.}

07 Jul 2012 12:17:29
i read before that BR was looking to loan some of our young players out to Swansea for experience. do you know of any that may be going there on loan? {Ed002's Note - There are strict rules governing temporary transfers and it is not possible to let more than one player go to the same club save for certain circumstances.}

Is Blackpool now our loanee training club

07 Jul 2012 11:42:43
Hi Eds,

Is all this Ramirez talk real?
I know that Wolfsburg are interested and we might
not be able to keep up with there bid.
What is the chance on Callejon and the brazilian player who plays for Athletico Menireo?

Cheers,

FORVER RED {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest in Callejon and don't see him being made available.}

I think the Ramirez talk is real but there are still obstacles. Anyone could step in with an offer yet.Hope we get him though, if we don't I doubt it will be through lack of trying.

A number of journos (particularly Tancredi) are saying that we have held talks, but have not made an official bid. The only official bid has been from Wolfsburg for 13m which Bologna rejected. Tancredi believes we have asked for more time to consider and may not make an official bid until Wednesday. Bologna seem convinced they can get 20m so its just a waiting game now to see who blinks first...

Liverpools first signing will be Ramirez signing for 16m, BR is also mulling over a £3m bid for Peter Whittingham from Cardiff. He impressed in Cardiff's run in the league cup last year and BR is a huge admirer. He wanted him for Swansea but could not due to the Cardiff/Swansea rivalry.
Daniel Sturridge is also being targeted for 12m

I just hope we wrap this up ASAP. Our potential signings ate taking too long.
Kopking

Peter Whittigham. No way will we go after him.

Somehow I doubt it. Can you guess why?

07 Jul 2012 11:17:31
Hi eds :) i have heard rumours about Brendan Rodgers calling up Huw Jenkins about the possibility of taking Joe Allen to Liverpool in a 6m Deal?

10 million maybe but not 6 and i dont think swansea would let him go

Lfclee

I bet Huw gave Brendan 2 words , the 2nd being OFF.

That was the player he was hinting at when he said he wouldn't be put off calling him up to ask about players.

Hi Eds,

You will probably tell me to use the search engine but if you had to stick out your neck, do you realistically see Gaston Ramirez joining us? I would like to see Sturridge sign as well, we need to improve on what we have to get back into the top 4 and in terms of talent, he is better than Andy, selfish but technically better. Once we're back we can once again compete for world class players. When do you guys expect to see any transfer activity from the LFC side? I can't wait for the new season. As always, I am hopefull.

YNWA

Nedia_ZA_Scouser {Ed002's Note - Ramirez could well join Liverpool but I am not convinced any deal has been done yet. We cannot predict the timing of transfers though.}

Deluded if you think Rodgers would want Sturridge. The lad can't get his head up.
Awful player!
kidmillions

Sturridge is a no no, unless he leans what pass means.

If we get Ramirez and Sturridge I will be more than happy. I think these two will be very smart moves both players will certainly worth far more than what they worth now.

I would be disappointed if we went for Sturridge. He is average, at best.

I can't see why so many are putting his name up. There are plenty of strikers abroad who are better and would cost less.

I don't think we need a major overhaul, just 3 players in the positions we all know are waek. If too many are brought in it will stifle the progress of the many talented youngsters we have coming through. I think the Europa Cup will be good for us in giving these lads experience. If any of them stand out, I hope Rodgers will give them some minutes in the Prem when it is appropriate.

07 Jul 2012 11:05:57
Hello EDs I know you have said that we have not spoken to Chelsea about Sturridge but have we shown any interest in him ? He has made it know he wants to play as ST and we require a back-up at that position. Anyhow him or walcott can be a good option for back-up ST but only if attainable at 8-10 million not a penny more. {Ed002's Note - I can only say that as of this time Liverpool have made no approach to Chelsea about Sturridge.}

07 Jul 2012 10:54:25
just my thoughs: if BR gives a chance to Suso, Sterling, Aqua, Pacheco and if we buy (as he said) 3-4 quality players.. we can stand a chance this year...
Though I'm not expecting nothing much this season, but it would be great to se Suso and Sterling play few first team matches.

hope Gaston Ramirez joins us, maybe Jovetić (whats the situation with him?)

cheers Luka {Ed002's Note - Arsenal, Roma and Spurs did show previous interest in Jovetic, but Chelsea and Napoli remain interested if the price is acceptable.}

Ever wondered why Aquilani's future at LFC is still up in the air?

If we want to keep him or if he wanted to play in England his agent or himself would have made it clear long time ago that he is staying which is and has not been the case. He wasn't even in any of the latest training pics. 99% sure that this transfer window will be Aquilani's last holiday at Anfield. His wages can make space for two new signings which is the best solution for Liverpool. Good riddance.

Red4life

In Italy reports are that Juve are making a big move for Jovetic. its no secret they are after attackers. Hope he goes to LFC.

I agree red4life I really dislike Aquilani, mainly because he's like a bad smell that just won't go. However the reason he's not in the training pictures is that he's apparently getting married, so he'll be away doing that and honeymooning.

Anyway I hope we get rid soon, he doesn't want to be here and he's on monster wages. I'd swap him for a mars bar.

How come no one mentions jonjo shelvey hes better than siggurdson are liverpool going to give him a chance

All we need is a little luck, we hit the post
30+ times last year. If we just teach downing how to shoot we will be fine.
Andrew

07 Jul 2012 10:52:39
Maxi has asked LFC to release him. Hopefully we replace him with a more attacking and creative natural winger or give Sterling a chance. Maxi was not going to fit in BR's plans anyway. Only reason why he has such a good passing success rate is because he only passes short and only ever passes back to the player he got the ball from. He never tries to find another player and never crosses a ball either plus his assist rate is non existent. Offers no creativity which is what winger needs to provide.

Red4life

Don't know what you ve been watching mate, Maxi was one of the brightest spark in Our team last year and anyway I thought tiki taka football was about short passing.

Football isnt about going forward with every pass and that definately isnt Rogers style of play if you. and Maxi would fit very well in his style because he is a technically gifted play that doesnt need pace to get where he needs to go.

Spectacularly uninformed comment. Maxi is not a step-over merchant, no. But he scores at a greater rate than most wingers and is outstanding without the ball, which is around 97% of every football match.

True on the passing front but he's scored more goals than the other "wingers" over the last 2 years!

If Maxi was that great then why are none of the big teams knocking on his door?

What does he offer in the creativity department? BR's player need to be creative, Maxi isnt. He might be able to keep possesion and score goals being in the right place at the right time but other than that you see him for 20 minutes in a match and the rest of the 70 mins he is nowhere to be seen.

Red4life

I believe you are wrong about maxi as he does have ability although i feel he should be sold as this is a new era for lfc and i believe young players should come through to the first team for example sterling
weymouth red

Pass and move is Brendans style of play, Maxi will fit right in.

U lad are a clown..... Maxi is a quality player. Reason no top club wants him is caus he stated he wants to finish his career in his native country and he is nearing that now...... Does that mean tevez is useless caus no top club wants him????

As u said that other than being at the right place at right time and scoring goals, Maxi hasn't got anything else. What more do u want.
Kopking

Complete bullsh*t maxi is an excellent player. He has vision, technicaly good and knows where to be at the right time to score goals. Just because he is not that good in fifa doesnt mean its the same in real life mate...

Red John

Bit harsh to be slagging off a guy who never complained about being on the bench and nearly always scored or got an assist when he came on

You are a person So maxis assists are non existent? God knows what downing is in comparison? He got 0 assists and 0 goals oin 36 pl games

The most likely player to replace maxi is Pacheco

Terrible assessment of Maxi. A top player, who if given the chance could flourish under Rodgers.

It's in someways unfortunate that the clueless are given a soapbox from which to spout ill-informed rants about players. Maxi may not be a poster boy figure as an out-and-out winger but his intelligent positioning, movement and goals-to-games ratio is better than many strikers. We used to have a legend called Ian Rush (look it up) who could go 89 minutes without making any meaningful contribution with the ball and then score the winner in injury time. Nobody ever dreamed of selling him.

Maxi does not quite fall into that category but still has earned respect from fans. He never complained about being on the bench and in fact stated that he realised that this was part of his role.

If he moves on, it will be as a reward for his attitude, his service and a desire to return home, not because of deficiencies in his game.

I read these post but never reply but you mate know nothing of football if you think maxi would not fit into a passing side he is as good as anything currently at liverpool for that style - you numpty

Mate, Maxi's number is 11 , not '19'.

As they say, each to their own.

I am not saying Maxi is absolutely rubbish but we need a better player than him and fact of the matter is that there are way better players out there.

Some people like Maxi and others don't. For the guy who used Rush as an example compared to Maxi is being daft. Rush is a striker and Maxi an attacking wide player. Another thing, Rush is 1000 times the player Maxi wishes to be...

Red4life

Mate, not one response agreeing with you, jog on!

I think Maxi will be a big loss to LFC. He would fit in perfectly with BR style of play. Quite often in tika taka football you have to pass back or sideways to the player you got the ball from because you dont have any passing options where you are guaranteed to remain in possesion and to tire out your opposition by making them chase the ball.Eventually you will get an opportunity to score. Just seen it happen in the European championship from Spain.
They didnt do too badly did they?

Bill

That is somewhat true, but you fail to acknowledge the chemistry he has with Suarez, and the fact that without Gerard in the midfield our wide players get nothing to work with.

Evening Ed002, "menagerie" bridge books?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - Took a little time but well done Chris.}

Victor Mollo? Perhaps Victor Moses..
Ballina Red

Eh....?

Rob

Does this mean that we are interested in victor mollo ed? or am i way off? {Ed002's Note - It was simply a message from Chris. Not anything for others to worry over.}

My bad, i ment to say yohan mollo.

Fair enough ed appreciate the reply just trying to play detective of a saturday morning, sneaky prawns. kudos to the site.

Get a room u two!

This is part of the secret messages between Ed002 and Chris in Tamworth that we're not a part of. Even though many of us actually really enjoyed trying to work out the clues, it was taken that some people were being abusive so the clues are being sent by email and Chris just posted his answer on here.

Not all of us are mindless idiots and I'm sure many are intellectual and quite interested in the opinions of others. Sadly, the minority spoil it for everyone else

Calnadrak

Do you guys not have email?!

"It was simply a message from Chris. Not anything for others to worry over."

Do neither of you have private email addresses then? {Ed002's Note - No, we don't.}

Bridge? stamford bridge? sturridge? yeah that's wrong..

My guess wayne bridge to qpr CRAIG

Bridge to brighton i meant sorry dont know were i got qpr CRAIG

This seems personal I'm not even posting on this one.Oh! I already have.

Hi Edds great site, i've been hearing lots of rumours about us plotting a 10 - 15 million £ bid for daniel sturridge. Just wondering whether there was any truth behind the interest in him? {Ed002's Note - LIverpool have made no approach to Chelsea about Sturridge. However, if an acceptable offer was to be made, Chelsea would not stand in the way of the player if he wishes to move on.}

07 Jul 2012 09:54:48
Ed002 you said the other day that Sterling cannot go on loan until January. Is this because he is yet to turn 18?

TK-Red {Ed002's Note - Yes, that is correct.}

Sorry to be a pain Ed002 but, in simpleton terms, why was Connor Thomas able to go on loan to Liverpool? Is the under 18 rule only applicable to the Premier League?

TK-Red {Ed002's Note - There are separate rules governing lower league clubs but I know nothing of them. Aside from a requested exception, the clubs need to comply with the Premier League Rules which are explicit.}

Ed if that is the case why did rodgers try to take him on loan to swansea during last season~?tanx

majestic69 {Ed002's Note - I have no idea. The rules are explicit and less an exception is requested and commitment to continued schooling provided I cannot see how it could have happened.}

Cheers Ed002. Much appreciated.

TK-Red

07 Jul 2012 09:08:41
Right, I know this might sound stupid but why would we be looking at Loris (probably incorrect spelling) because we have Reina? Annd if Reina would move where would he be likely to go?
Cheers great job you do. {Ed002's Note - If there is interest in Lloris then it will be as a replacement for Reina.}

Kalou off Lillie thats another one of the list

Thank god!

Thankfully ma tha

murdred

I doubt that one was on the list.

Wasn't on any genuine fans list. He chose money over us when he joined Chelsea if you remember. Never really cut it there in my opinion compared to his early billing and doesn't seem to have any prospect of improving.

Plus it means theres little chance of Lille coming back in to take Cole on a perm deal which to me is a bonus.

FatJanMolby

What list ?
Your dream list?

Good, not good enough

There is a God!

Who cares he is rubbish , and who says we even wanted him

07 Jul 2012 09:07:05
Liverpool will not get kalou as he is on the verge of agreeing a four year deal with lille. Heard that the amount for Ramirez is only €16m not sure how true this is though. Also hearing we have enquired with Chelsea about sturridge.

Just passing on info I have heard.... True or not true

Jagerrocket.

I think the Ramirez price is 16 million £.About 20 million euros.

Liverpool to complete ramirez as their player within 48 hours

Its 8-30 and I'm at carousel 3 in Manchester airport waiting for luggage...nightmare as should be at Leeds airport. Anyway, Martin Skrtel has literally just walked past from a flight from Hamburg or Zurich looking at which carousel he went to. Quickly asked him if he knew which players we were after, he said very confidently that nobody knows but the manager and don't believe anything you read! So there you go guys, we clearly have gone back to the good old days and keeping it very quiet!
Anyone who says otherwise is lying!
Asked him if he'll be still with us this season...his answer, of course, 100%!
Red Matt

I have two very low level sources and since back when Dalglish took over the whole thing has become far more watertight and very very little leaks out. RED LENIN

Quality ! The amount of little details people will put in to try and convince people! You have told us nothing in that post which we didn't already know! But again thanks for the laugh Big Mike {Ed002's Note - I understand why people don't bother to post things when all they do is get put down by fans like you.}

Actually the details were there if you feel the need to check. Don't post much, it's not a rumour...but it did happen. Only passing on what was said...thanks Ed, you're right, don't know why people bother.

I agree..................Not everyone is a liar........Sometimes stories are true, whether you want to believe or not.

If true, he has actually told us quite a lot, 1st Skrtel is staying, 2nd potentially every rumour on these pages for the last 2 years who state they are ITK is full of crap ;) good work fella.

Quality ! The amount of little details people will put in to try and convince people! You have told us nothing in that post which we didn't already know! But again thanks for the laugh Big Mike {Ed002's Note - I understand why people don't bother to post things when all they do is get put down by fans like you.}

Fans like me? I'm 100% behind BR and the club and anything they do unlike some off the fickle fans! And I do appreciate the posts and the work of the Ed's... as for Skrtel staying, he had said he was happy at anfield so not much of telling us something! And also he said BR keeps everything under wraps which he said himself in his recent interview!

Maybe I was a little harsh which I apologise for, but it seems like some nonsense which regularly gets posted on here!{Ed002's Note - We appreciate the response Mike.}

Not a problem keep up the good work! BM

Hi all,
I've been told by a reliable source that Gaston Ramirez is a done deal. £16m. Medical and unveiling on Monday.

NiRed

I wish pal...

I have also heard this too, the one who plays for bologna if i am right

What a lie!

SUMON VAI

This is all over Twitter but believe nothing until you see it on the LFC web site.

O! How many Mondays like this have come and gone.. i wish for it to be true anway

07 Jul 2012 05:43:59
any news on afellay? {Ed002's Note - Afellay has been out injured pretty much all of this season and I think future chances at Barcelona may be limited but the kid is keen to stay and Barcelona seem keen to have him as a squad player. However, I think it is still possible that he will be available in the summer and that Barcelona would listen to offers. Italy looks like one option available to him if he is sold and there may be interest from the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle. A move to Lille has been rejected.}

07 Jul 2012 02:47:25
Brendan Rodgers is weighing up a £9,000,000 bid for Manchester City's Emmanuel Adebayour, should his loan spell at Spurs not become permanent.

No he isn't, unless you want to pay his wages?

Not true, why would he accept a contract offer of circa 70,000-80,000 p/w from Liverpool when he can sit on his Man City contract paying him £170,000 p/w. I would say a loan is the only chance he will hv of not sitting in City's reserve team next season, with Man City still paying the majority of his wages.

Ciario

Surely thats his wage alone for 12 months!!, about 173k pw. I think he's a good player, but can only see an offer being made if BR is going to play 4-3-3, alternating him with Carroll in the central striker role, as Bellamy can play either the left or right side of the 3 attackers, along with Suarez, with Raheem being included in the selection..... I'm hoping that the Ramirez deal is concluded between now and Monday, that would make me happier than Adebayour signing. Ant B

Don't believe this.

I'd pay £15m for him

Tottenham will die if he doesn't sign with them

this is his record with them last season
(prem)

37 games (33)
18 goals (17)
12 assists (11)

07 Jul 2012 01:35:20
Fabio Borini is an option BR is looking at worked with him at swansea before although the player is owned by both Roma and Parma 50/50 so both clubs would have to agree to the transfer. It has been reported that Roma had an option to buy the player 100% for 7 million so Liverpool would not have to pay much more than that.
Could be a good option on the right of attack if BR plays a 4-3-3. What are your thoughts eds? {Ed002's Note - This is old news. His ownership has been resolved, I don't know of serious interest from Liverpool and I doubt Borini would want to return to England so soon. The power of Twitter.}

More like the power of the telegraph bad and lazy journalism which fools on twitter grab onto i personally feel the only signings which maybe true are ramirez and a nice surprise

Err, obviously you haven't paid enough attention to his ownership as it was resolved weeks ago and he's now a Roma player...

If you're going to quote from Twitter (or in this case, The Independent), at least have the decency to quote that as your source rather than try to palm it off as your own idea!

07 Jul 2012 00:24:26
Just a quick question, I've searched and you said that matias saurez would struggle to get a work permit due to not playing in the national team. Does that mean there is near enough no chance of him getting one (besides Belgian passport)? Surely argentine having an abundance of talent would be reason enough for not starting? Also do you believe Rodgers was the best available option? {Ed002's Note - No, as I said there is a chance that a work permit could be issued on a talant basis but that normally only applies to young players. So not out of the question. I think Rodgers deserves a chance to see what he can do.}

07 Jul 2012 01:46:02
Gaston Ramirez signing to be announced early next week for 20m

He wil be great signing by BR.. If this true we are on the verge of challeging for BPL title..Come on sign another 3 quality winger n striker.. YNWA

I really hope this is true as we need quality players like Ramirez. Ramirez and Sturridge would be a step in the right direction for me.

sorry for copy and paste.

Rodrigo Romano tweeted:

Por la info que tengo en el fin de semana se cerrará la transferencia de Gaston Ramirez al Liverpool por 20 millones de Euros #LFC

When translated this means:

The info I have on the weekend will close the transfer of Gaston Ramirez at Liverpool for 20 million Euros # LFC

EDS, is this guy reliable? apparently a Uruguayan journalist?

I think is could be true, the guy was presenting euro 2012 somewhere in a Spanish speaking country probably Uruguay and he was in a picture with Cavani as well as having an interview with Diego Lugano (Uruguayan captain).

So it very possible that he is well informed about transfer of Uruguayan players look at the Coates one, it was mentioned on a TV show in an interview that LFC was interested and that Luis talked with him about the move before the English media had a clue.

{Ed002's Note - We know there has been interest in Ramirez from Liverpool, we know he will almost certainly move and that there have been discussion with several clubs. As to whether or not Liverpool will complete a deal this weekend I don't know. By tomorrow night we will know if this is correct or not.}

I would love to have Ramirez here. I think about him as a very pacy and agile player , very good on both feet and a good vision to make killer balls

Well, he does have his own wiki page ;)

YoungRed

He is indeed reliable, he was one of the first to break the news about Coates signing for us apparently. However, as good as this looks don't forget we had 'signed' sigurdsson and look how that ended so don't get ahead of your self.
Irving4

Yes he is very reliable. He let us know about Coates well before anyone else. I'd say this is one that's screwed on.

Bridgy07

There certainly is a lot of smoke on this transfer...I'd say a reasonable chance considering our Uruguayan influence...

Gaston ramirez will become an LFC player this weekend for 20m.
This should also put to bed that his fellow countryman Suarez will be staying!

Hope this is true but I heard someone said he had signed last weekend so just waiting until the paperwork is signed . Great news if it happens though

Why does Ramirez coming mean that Suarez is leaving? I would've thought Luis staying would've been one of the main reasons for signing...

Would like to know if Edinson Carvarni could be a livepool target after all he is country team mates with Luis Suarez and hes been linked before just think that will be an amazing signing for us !

He is a LFC target. He's being targeted by deluded some fans.

I wish

Only in the world of FIFA12...

To get Cavani we'd have to sell Carroll & Skrtel

My neighbour George is uruguayan perhaps he is signing for us too.

No matter how much money you get from sales cavani will not join liverpool.he could have his pick of the top italian clubs,city,chelsea and madrid so why would he sign for a team who finished 8th in the PL and play europa league football?

Wolfsburg pay 20m euro ? useless post.

Your having a laugh if you think we cant compete with wolfsburg.

I very much doubt that Cavani will be going anywhere this Summer now that Lavezzi has now left and joined PSG. That would be footballing suicide for the Napoli bosses!

We shall see, Mr negative.

Wolfsburg, c'mon your'e joking right {Ed002's Note - Just to be clear, there have been talks between Bolgna and Wolfsburg about Ramirez.}

And we cannot compete with their offer...

We carnt compete with 13 million euros :s am sure we can

Sorry for the copy and paste

Brendan Rodgers is close to making Roma forward Fabio Borini his first signing as Liverpool manager following lengthy negotiations in Italy.

Rodgers worked with Borini when he was a coach in Chelsea's academy and again at Swansea City when the 21 year-old came on loan to the then Championship side in March 2011, scoring six goals in just nine appearances in South Wales.

That temporary move did not lead to a first-team breakthrough at Stamford Bridge and Borini, who moved to London from Bologna as a teenager, returned to Italy after making just three senior appearances.

The Italy Under-21 international, who made his full international debut against the US in February, moved to Parma initially, but was immediately loaned out to Roma, who are believed to have an option to buy for £7 million.

Despite failing to make an impact at Chelsea, Borini has flourished on his return to his homeland and Rodgers saw enough of him at Swansea to believe he is good enough to slot into the Liverpool team on the right of a three-man strike-force.

The deal is slightly complicated by the fact Borini is co-owned by Parma and Roma, with each holding a 50 per cent stake, which means Liverpool will have to reach an agreement with both clubs to finalise the move.

However, it is unlikely Liverpool would be expected to pay much more than the £7m price Roma had agreed with Parma as part of their loan agreement.

Rodgers is not signing Borini. Singred

Hasn't he just signed a new contract?

Sorry mate but this is about a month old he is know fully owned by Roma so he will not be coming to us this summer

Cheers,Zincho

Mate that was written by Luke Edwards who hasnt got a clue whats going on in his own head never mind the LFC boardroom. The Robster. ( in no way libellous :)

Must be old news that because Roma bought out Parma's share a couple of weeks ago.

Obviously an old story or really lazy journalism because Roma 100% own him now
