According to the Italian press we have bid 13 million euros for Fiorentina's left back/ left winger Juan Manuel Vargas

Reina has been told he will be granted his move away from Liverpool in the summer as long as its to club outside of England. His contract clause actually stipuates that he can move to a european club for £21mil, so if the likes of Man United, Arsenal, Man City etc bid, Liverpool are well within their right to reject offers or try to negotiate a much higher fee. (in my personal opinion he is the best keeper in the world and worth at least £30mil+)

Have heard liverpool have an interest in Royston Drenthe for the LW/ LB positions.at 24 and with his contract due to expire in 2012 they see him as a cheap alternative to Ashley young. do you rate him ed and any chance of this happening? {Ed001's Note - this story has been going round for a long time but nothing has ever come of it because he is just not good enough.}

I know for that agger, konskesky, and cole will be leaving, agger to florentina, knochesky surprisingly to wolves and cole to spurs, Amazingly poulsen will stay to anchor the midfield and add expierence , we won't be signing as you all expect to for sure we will sign marveaux, cahill and baines the rest will be spur of the moment decisions, wether you like these signings is up to you but you will have to put up with them.

Ed theres more talk on miralem pjanic in France. Apparently comolli has made contact. Pjanic has told the club he wants to talk to any English club who makes contact, because he feels the epl wud suit his style of play, and also his girlfriend is from northern Ireland. Have u heard anything because I saw the comment further down? {Ed001's Note - I haven't heard of any interest, I know someone, maybe it is you, has been calling for him, but I have not heard his name mentioned.}

Apparently there are only two clubs showing serious interest in Agger. They are Wolfsburg who are offering a laughable price of just 6.5m, & Fiorentina with whom Agger's agent have had serious discussions in January who are willing to offer around 8m for him.
Regarding Sylvian Merveuax , he was very close to signing a pre-contract deal, but now it seems that LFC are not interested in signing a such injury prone player. + Merveuax poor crossing ability is one big factor in which LFC has turned away from him.
For Aquillani , Juve are now very much interested in signing Aqua permanently, but Liverppol won't accept anything less than 12 m for him.
For the Left Back : LFC are looking at many players, but from what I have heard the Left back will be a surprise for all of us.
At last Pepe, I am very much sure that he will be with us next season.

Ed it seems to me that two highly regarded LB's just became available and you are saying that you believe Liverpool has not shown interest in either of them. Do you think that is because they were not as available as we thought, although Coentrao seems keen, or do you think we are not willing to spend that much on a LB. Doesn't it seem strange we would not show any interest at all in an area that desperately needs filling and they are both young, unless of course we already have one sorted. .

It has been known since last summer that the player would prefer to move to Benfica with AC Milan and Juventus as likely destinations. AC Milan seemingly had three on their list before Taiwo (Cissokho - Lyon, Maxwell - Barcelona and Criscito - Genoa), so I don't know what is happening there. Certainly Everton have shown an interest in Taiwo in the past, but I suspect he would head to either Turkey or Russia where there is much better money available before considering England. I hope this makes it clear. Liverpool have shown an interest in Oscar Wendt of Copenhagen if that helps.}

Someone posted a rumour couple of days ago which I thought sounded interesting so I checked it out and although my Spanish sources arent as good as my Italian ones, the rumour it seems has some legs. .which rumour?

Guardiola to overlook 2012/ 2013 with kenny moving upstairs and helping pep transition. Both the owners and kk are apparently keen on this idea as they think pep fits the Liverpool way both in business and coaching style.
Pep also sees this as a fit and wants to test himself in a new league.

This is just a rumour i have heard from a few different people, i'm not Lebron James's brother or anything and i don't walk Tom Werners dog.
I've heard that the reason Kenny hasn't been given the job full time is because Mourinho is going to be appointed, Mourinho has been dropping hints that he would like to return to England and we are 1 of only a handful of clubs i think he would join.
I don't know how i feel about this Kenny is the king and has done a good job considering what he has to work with and the amount of injuries we've suffered, he deserves a contract but you can't deny that Mourinho is a winner and we keep hearing the new owners are winners so this wouldn't surprise me.
Has anyone else heard anything?
Ed have you heard anything about this? i think most people expect Jose to be moving in the summer and if he is we are the only top club in England without a permanent manager??

Real are willing to offer both Lassana Diarra and Fernando Gago plus cash for Steven Gerrard. Jose is desperate to get Gerrard and could be an excellent deal for us. Two young world class centre mids for a Gerrard who's best years are firmly behind him. Although gerrard is a legend, I think it would be mutually beneficial if he moved on now.

Just got some info that Daniel Agger will be leaving LFC this summer, with Porto's Rolando coming in.
And Damien Commoli is very much keen on Shaktar's Willian the same goes for Kenny.
Ashly Young coming to us is now 50-50.
Charlie Adam will join Liverpool as soon as the season ends, but if Blackpool get religated the price will be reduced very much.
Fabio Coentrao will be our Marquee Signing if he is signed, ( 20 )
Donth think that Liverpool will buy another CF, as Kenny likes playing Kuyt upfornt either with Carrol , Suarez Or as a lone striker.
David Ngog is set to leave or if not Loaned out.
Lfc will sign around three wingers
Most likeliest three are Young, Payet & Willian .
Out of 12 players out on loan don't think anyone will return except Ayala.

Hi ed what is peoples love for cahill? he is rubbish and i wouldn't have him anywhere near my team and certainly not for 18-20m as i feel kelly and ayala are just as good if not better.plus that money would be better off spent in other areas of the team.

Hey ed, what is your personal opinion in regards to Agger and whether he should stay or go? Personally, it is impossible for me to be objective on this matter given I am a massive fan of Daggers'. The head says we should sell him, the heart says we should keep him. I think the best solution would be to keep him, and bring in or promote a CB that is of his ilk, i.e. comfortable with bringing the ball out from the back.

So, Benfica want a left back eh? And Real Madrid also want to chat to him? Seems Coentrao is up for grabs. If he's not going to Madrid then I'm taking it that there's a huge chance he'll be at Liverpool next year.

{Ed002's Note - It has been known since last summer that Coentrao would be leaving Benfica with Manchester United, Real Madrid and more recently Bayern Munich in the frame. We knew last summer that Taiwo's preferred destination was Benfica and the alternatives were AC Milan and Juventus. None of this should be a surprise to you - I have written often enough. Coentrao could well be interested in Liverpool, but apparently the club have shown no interest in him and that is why Bayern are now favourites for his signature.}

come on ed, a front 3 of hulk, suarez and carroll would be the most exciting front line in europe not just the epl. Hulk is one of the most talented players around at the moment, can do all the things suarez can. . . but go through them rather than around them.

It will be interesting to see if we go and have another look at Kyriakos Papadopolous who plays for Schalke04. It will be interesting to see if his rating of being a top prospect is true when they play the second leg in the champs league next week.
I think he could be a good option at around £6 mill as a replacement CB. He could be more value for money than splashing between 17 and 25 mill for Cahill that's if rumours are true of course
