Been told that real madrid are going to move for suarez late in the transfer window hope it aint true.

Suarez will not join Madrid. He wants to stay at Liverpool until Barcelona make an offer good enough for all parties. He is on record saying that Barca is is dream team so Madrid is a real no go .

At the end of the day, Madrid is Madrid and football is a business.
Pains me to say it but if Real offered a silly sum then it could just happen.
Suarez might want to get away from the dreaded English press and FA and may want a fresh start in a hot climate that's a Spanish speaking country.
Liverpool may want to cash in on the player in order to try salvage the good name of the club.
It's all ifs and butts I suppose

At the end of the day suarez wants to play for a club in the champions league and at liverpool hes not going to do that

Steven Pienaar is set to make a move to Liverpool in January

Not good enough for spurs but good enough for Liverpool that sounds about right.

Rubbish,always injured,gives nothing to the team.Looked good in a poor team at Everton.Why would he even be considerd?

Dnt no if he is the real person but hoillet put he will be a liverpool player by the end of the transfer window, liverpool the only club to match his ambitions wants to play under kenny daglish. On twitter

I told him to put a pic up of himself/with a team-mate or get verified, think he went offline though, I hope it's the real Hoilett, but I doubt it.

Sign up for Twitter to follow Junior Hoilett (@JHoilett23). Official account of BRFC winger DJ Hoilett. Although it does say its either a fake account or been hacked

Hoillet another average player, he is no way going to use lfc to help him get a move away from a sinking ship.

He should be loyal to blackburn rovers considering they are paying him huge amount of money

David Hoilett is NOT on twitter

His admitted his not the real hoilett

Junior hoilett

I think if it was real then the club would not let him put it all over twitter first. its not KK's way of doing things

Not bloody likely it's him. Look at the way he talks about Blackburn, like they'd let him get away with that!

I seen that myself if its real hes signing on the 12th apparently. instincts tell me its not a real account. do the eds have any idea wether its legit or not? CRAIG {Ed005's Note - Highly doubt it is his real account.}

Honestly some people are so gullible

Why dont liverpool go for mossa sissoko? he plays a bit like yaya toure. he would be a great replacement for lucas

Isn,t sissoko more of an attacking midfielder more like a box to box like stevie g not that im sure he couldnt do a job at dm he,s a fantastic player wish we would put an offer in for him
giblet

Your a genius .. i wish kenny had u in his backroom staff :/ if we had u we would sure win the league :D

He is a very strong direct and fast player, lacks some intelligence on the ball though in terms or ball retention and the passes he goes for but a very promising attack minded midfielder. Similarities to Yaya Toure are not far off.

Lucas was not a DM when we bought him but an attacking box to box midfielder and look how good he turned out.

I remember Lucas being touted as the next Kaka :|

Hi Ed's, i read the weekly round up of targets, and i was wonderin before and now, is Adam Johnson actually available in any way? Is it just that he's a fringe player at City, or do City actually intend to buy someone to replace him and let him go? Im sure i remeber hearing before that he signed a new contract at City this season, was that jus so City could possibly get the best deal for him?

Thanks for any answers you can give in advance.

Carb {Ed002's Note - I suspect without a replacesment, no.}

He has just signed a new contract, hardly the move of a disgruntled player. Yes he would like to play more and at times does not see eye to eye with Mancini but Adam Johnson does want to remain at City and is determined to be a success there.

Hey eds i posted earlier about us allegedly keeping tabs on victor moses and 2 dutch players 1 was obviously de jong and i have the other name now but i dont really know him if im being honest. its georgino wijnaldum? he said he played for feyernord . do you know him? is he any good? and is there any interest from liverpool cheers. CRAIG {Ed002's Note - Arsenal, Liverpool, Zenit St Petersburg, Schalke and Real Madrid have all shown an interest in Wijnaldum in the past but all is quiet right now aside from recent talk of interest from Sevilla that seemed to peter out.}

Wijnaldum joined PSV in July 2011 and is a regular with 11 goals in 28 appearences.
Dutchmal

THANX ED002 guess i was fed false info my bad. CRAIG {Ed002's Note - It has been quiet with him.}

He no longer plays for Feyenoord he moved to PSV in the summer.

He was offered to us by Feyenoord in the Summer of 2010 but other targets were deemed to be of more priority. The general disarray the club was in also wouldn't have helped the matter.

Thanx mate. he sounds a decent player do u think if lfc did rekindle there past interest in the summer he could adapt to the premier league? CRAIG

Liverpool are planning a £15m bid for Basle starlet Xherdan Shaqiri.

No they are not. Comolli isn't his biggest fan.

The born albanian is a really good midfielder helping basel come over man utd

Ed can say if we have had any scouts watching Julian Draxler? {Ed002's Note - There will have been folks attending games but he will not be available.}

He is pretty much Mr. Schalke, would never leave.

Luuk Dejong is s**te I don't no wa all the fuss is about he's a 70 on FIFA

Haha if ur not joking and u actually rate people from fifa. Pff enough said.

Fifa is always an accurate indicator as it is a well known fact that game developers know more than premiership scouts
DerryRed

I think you're mistaking it with Football Manager.

Andy carrol is faster on FIFA than Suarez enough said

U gonna go with a rating on a game were lucas is 79 WTF!!

He's 21, but he's got bags of potential, not to mention your judgin a real life player compared to his computer counterpart.

Carb

Two things,

1. He's 76 on Fifa (or there abouts)

2. What the hell is wrong with you?! You're taking random EA game developers opinions over LFC scouts, the ED's and KK's?

Go to bed before your mum catches you up so late!
Lfcmatt

Hes about a 77 not 70 so shut up

What a fool
The Machine

Haha great sarcasm

Andy carroll turns into an 87 according to fifa and lucas is only a 78-79 how could u judge a player from a game

This is a wind up!

Haha FIFA grow up and know your facts before you post such rubbish! Your probably using FIFA's prices for what people should cost!

Alrite alrite haha he is s**te tho not worth a carrot we need players like Heskey hulse vassell if we wanna get bk in Europe

People...it's clearly a joke.

I play CF for lfc on fifa enough said!

KNEE JERK

I won't lie, I stopped believing in EA Sports ratings when Harry Kewell was rated 82 in 2006!

He's good in Pro Evo but he's named "Duh Wrong"

Another brain dead poster. Trouble is these days kids cannot separate life from fantasy !

And im a 90 on fifa and i only play 5 a side so that means im better than de jong aswell

R u smoking hard food de jong is 77 on fifa and since when does fifa rating relflect players in the real world
1: fifa rating are made in august it is now january he can IMPROVE
2:de jong is quality and many teams have been chasing him personally i belive soldado from valencia and mvila from rennes would be the perfect moves anyone with me ? lfc fan

Sack all the scouts & buy a ps3. Think of all the money we'd save.

Yes mate, cos the true ability of players is always correct on fifa. if you took the time to pay a genuine interest in his ability then you'd find that the player has a lot of quality and would be a great signing for the club

Podolski set to join arsenal gutterd lets go get Huntelaar or Dejong come on!!

Podolski was unlikely to come to us anyway so i don't see why your gutted. Where did you get this information from?

PauLFC

Huntelaar is crap.. thats why milan and real madrid got rid of him after 5 min. he can't pass and only scores against average defenders..

Will be available in the Summer at 8-10 million. If he comes to England it will be to Arsenal.

Yehh but he had a great partnership and understanding with suarez whilst at ajax

Sorry a little later then promised lads.

Transfer rumour round up:

Strikers:

Darren Bent- Aston Villa: {Ed002's Note - I have no idea the origin of the Bent rumour and I really know of no interest from Liverpool. Many rumours arrive out of speculation, blogs and the over imaginative minds of folks running football websites.}

Roberto Soldrdo- Valencia: {Ed002's Note - Certainly Liverpool have shown some interest in Soldado who is having a good season but his availability in January is by no means certain. At about 25M euro he would not be cheap.}

Moussa Sow- Lille: {Ed001's Note - Sow is available and of some interest to Liverpool. He was always likely to make the move to the Prem. Personally I feel Arsenal are his most likely destination, but that's just based on a feeling not info.}

Podolski- Köln: {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest in Podolski from Liverpool. I don't see any chance of Podolski going to a club where he cannot be sure of a starting place - it could well put his international career at risk. Lazio, Spurs and Arsenal have shown an interest but he could decide to move to Turkey with Galatasary or possibly Russia with interest from several clubs including Anzhi and Zenit. If he does move to England, Arsenal is certainly the most likely destination.}

Luk De Jong- FC Twenty: {Ed001's Note - interest is still there but not intended to be a January target as far as I understand, it is just that there is so much interest in him we may be forced to move then.}

Higuain- Real Madrid: {Ed002's Note - Higuain will not be moving to Liverpool in January.}

Demba Ba- Newcastle: {Ed002's Note - Ba will not be moving to Liverpool because of the medical issues he has.}

Lucas Barrios- Dortmund: {Ed002's Note - Whilst I think it unlikely that would interested in moving from Dortmund to Liverpool, it is not totally out of the question that he could be available and Liverpool could bid. He has struggled to get back in the starting line-up after injury and does not seem happy with sitting on the bench. But I would expect Dortmund to be looking for a replacement striker as they already know that there is interest in Lewandowski and whilst they have their target set as Welliton I am not so sure they would let both players leave. I also think if he gets a run of games he will stop bleating and stay.}

Lewandowski- Dortmund: {Ed002's Note - Lewandowski has been watched by Liverpool, Rubin Kazan, Spartak Moscow (who are concerned about losing Welliton) and Lille. He could possibly move in January but Dortmund would need to find a replacement first as they are short on strikers. But you are right that Dortmund may not wish to sell.}

M'Baye Niang- Caen: {Ed001's Note - I believe Comolli has been monitoring his progress through the season, not sure how serious the interest is though.}

Doumbia- CSKA: {Ed001's Note - we have defo had him looked at, we know the price, but as far as I am aware nothing else has happened. Whether that is because we have decided against him or we are just biding our time and will bid for him in Jan, I can only guess at right now/ There has been an enquiry from Newcastle about Doumbia and it is likely if there is another team who have actually enquired it will be Arsenal. No doubt others have had scouts at games but that is some way from making any enquiries for the player. Doumbia does a good job of talking himself up and CSKA will likely want £25M or so for the player. Getting through to the last 16 of the Champions League makes a January move less likely}

Leandro Damiao- Internacional: {Ed002's Note - Leandro Damiao seems to be of interest to several clubs at the moment not least AC Milan who want him to replace Cassano but need to free up a non EU quota spot to buy him. Spurs and Arsenal have apparently have taken a look recently as have Porto and PSG. His agent is talking up offers but that will probably not be anything to do with transfer fees, just possible wages. Over the summer there was also interest from Juve, Roma, Lyon, Sporting Lisbon and Barcelona have shown some interest in the past two months. Juventus may push for a January transfer but I don't see him moving before perhaps January 2013.}

Santiago Garcia- Atletico Paranaense: {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Benfica and Manchester United have taken a look Uruguayan Santiago Garcia - but like with many South Americans, there are complications. Liverpool were looking at the player when he was still playing for Nacional in Uruguay during the summer. This predates Diego Caniggia joining Liverpool but no doubt he is well aware of the situation. The major issue surrounds Garcia failing a drug test (Columbian Nose Candy) following Nacional's Uruguayan cup final victory back in June somethime. However, because the process for conducting drug tests in Uruguay is not regulated or approved any ban he would be given cannot be ratified by the authorities and therefore is only applicable in Uruguay where he no longer plays. As you saw, he is seen as a good talent, but there are issues.}

Toivonen- PSV: {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest from Liverpool, but Sunderland and Aston Villa have made tentative enquiries as have Besiktas. I doubt he will be moving before the summer.}

Huntelaar- Schalke 04: {Ed002's Note - None from Liverpool that we are aware of, but I understand he is open to considering any offers made to Schalke, but they certainly do not want to sell.}

Defoe- Spurs: {Ed002's Note - Defoe wants to stay high profile and play regularly to make sure he gets a Euro place. I understand his concern is that at Spurs he is not starting games. So if Liverpool can give him a start, and want him, and make a bid, then I guess something could be done. A loan is less likely.}

Martinez- Jaguares: {Ed002's Note - There are certainly rumours about Liverpool's interest in Jackson Martinez, but all I can confirm is that Porto and Sporting Lisbon have been interested in him very recently.}

Centre Attacking Mid:

Erikkson- Ajax: {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and AC Milan have shown an interest in Eriksen. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan remain the most interested club. Back in mid July someone from the Milan Press Office said he had heard of interest from Manchester United - but I am not aware of any confirmation of that interest. I doubt that January is an option for a move to Liverpool, but perhaps the summer. The player has expressed an interest to move to Spain.}

Ganston Ramirez- Bologna: {Ed002's Note - Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool. I suspect he will not be available until the summer unless a very good offer is made. A move to Sevilla, Palermo or Juventus is also possible - although unsubstantiated rumours suggest Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested. A maybe.}

Goetze- Dortmund: {Ed002's Note - Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona were previously knocked back by his club and Goetze himself has made it clear that he is happy to stay at Dortmund for this season, although no doubt a very significant offer would be listened to. Real Madrid may be able to persuade him to move. He has identified his favourite teams as Barcelona and Arsenal. There is also interest also from AC Milan - and I suspect that they are shifting their interest in Ganso or Fernando to Goetze due to persisting non-EU quota issues. Given that speculation seems to have come to a frenzied head, it will certainly do no harm to say that the long anticpated but previously unpublisized interest in Goetze is from Chelsea. The reason I did not previously say who the player the club were interested in was simply because the club was very keen that it were kept quiet, particularly given that there is no assurance at all that a transfer will be achievable, certainly in the January window. Dortmund have bought Marco Reus, a local player that was on their books as a kid and this may result in Goetze being available in the summer. Chelsea among others have an interest in him. Chelsea know that there will be pressure from elsewhere to buy the player - most notably AC Milan and the major Spanish sides - and are of the opinion that a move to England will probably not come about.}

Lucas Moura- Sao Paulo: {Ed002's Note - If Lucas Moura becomes available I suspect he will end up in Italy. Lucas was enquired about by Liverpool (amongst numerous teams) in the summer and the quoted price was $130M. He may eventually be sold for much less but way more than any English side will pay for an unproven teenager - with figures around 35M euros being suggested. There is, in my view, no chance of him moving to England or to Liverpool in the short term. If pushed, Roma or one of the Milan clubs could attract him away from his other option - a move to Portugal with perhaps third party ownership. However, I doubt he will leave Brazil for perhaps a year or two}

Kagawa- Dortmund: {Ed002's Note - We have no idea how Kagawa would feel toward a move personally, but Liverpool have been one of the clubs, along with Udinese, Spurs, Villarreal and Valencia, who have shown an interest in him this season. Kagawa himself has had a generally pretty poor season although it has picked up recently.}

Coutinho- Inter: {Ed002's Note - Inter offered to loan Coutinho to Bologna as part of a deal for Gaston Ramirez that fell though. I don't think they want to sell but may consider a loan and I suspect they will listen to decent offers. Coutinho would need a work permit so any move would not be easy. A possibility for Liverpool at some point.}

Ozil- Real Madrid: {Ed001's Note - We do have an interest in him and we have apparently asked to be kept abreast of his situation. Summer a slim chance. January no}

Midfielders:

De Rossi- Roma: {Ed002's Note - There is no interest in De Rossi that we know of. As it stands right now I expect De Rossi to sign a new contract at Rome}

James Mclean- Sunderland: {Ed002's Note - No idea, sorry.}

James Mccarthy- Wigan: {Ed002's Note - I am sure Wigan would be willing to let James McCarthy move on if the right offer was made and Liverpool have previously shown an interest. Clubs enquiring in the summer baulked at the £20M price tag.}

Esteban Granero- Real Madrid: {Ed002's Note - Surplus to requirements in Madrid, could interest any number of clubs and may be used as a makeweight in a transfer. Only solid interest at this time has been from Blackburn Rovers and Sevilla but unsubstantiated rumours have linked him to Liverpool and Espanyol as well.}

Hoilett- Blackburn: {Ed002's Note- I don't know of any interest from Liverpool. Spurs, Newcastle, Stoke and possibly Aston Villa have been interested - plus a couple of clubs from Germany.}

Schurrle- Leverkusen: {Ed001's Note - they are not looking to sell him, though I am sure they would be tempted by a big money offer. No idea how much that would be though, not sure why anyone cares to be honest. I don't understand this obsession with player prices at all.}

Yann M'Vila- Rennes {Ed002's Note - Inter, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchestewr City, Juventus, Genoa and perhaps Liverpool & Chelsea showed an interest or enquired about M'Vila this past summer. M'Vila will almost certainly not move until the summer. A very significant bid from Manchester City has already been turned down. With that offer that was made for M'Vila in the summer Rennes have upped their valuation of the player to an extent where Creachcadec has said no Italian team can aford M'Vila. I would expect that there may be interest in him from PSG and possibly Real Madrid by the time he comes up for sale in the summer. I would be astonished if M'Vila moved in January. Price will be a significant issue for Liverpool.}

Moussa Sissoko- Toulouse: {Ed002's Note - Toulouse's Moussa Sissoko is a fine player and has attracted interest from Lyon, Roma, Genoa, Juventus, Liverpool and probably Napoli. Arsenal and Milan's previous interest waned over the summer. Damien Comolli let Sissoko's agent know that Liverpool see his man as the ideal long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard but for some reason Liverpool failed to make the final push in the summer. Sissoko is available but both Roma and Lyon appear to have the edge over other interested clubs and as far as I know at the moment Liverpool have yet to follow up their previous interest.}

Adam Johnson- Manchester City: {Ed002's Note - Slim but not out of the question.}

Montolivo- Fiorentia: {Ed002's Note - Liverpool have certainly had him watched and the reason that he is of interest is because he has been refusing to sign a new contract. Branchini is assuming that he will run down the contract and leave for free in the summer - thereby getting a large signing on fee which he, as Montolivo's agent will no doubt have a share of.}

Hazard- Lille: {Ed002's Note - Unless an extraordinary bid is made in January, Eden Hazard will not be available to the summer. Real Madrid or Barcelona is his preferred destination. PSG, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are all interested to one degree or another. I said over the summer that I would not be surprised to see Manchester United through their hat in to the ring with Hazard as well. I don't see Hazard moving to Liverpool, Juventus, AC Milan or Arsenal for that matter. Chelsea have maintained a long-term interest but one particularly influential party at the club sees the player as having an attitude problem.}

Marin- Werder Bremen : AC Milan, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, Napoli, Juventus and Roma have all shown an interest in Marko Marin in the past and I hear that Arsenal are interested at the moment. Much will depend on whether or not Liverpool make the Champions League as to whether he is a viable option or not. Very unlikely for January. Perhaps Italy is the most likely destination, and I understand his preferred destination.}

Griezmann- Real Sociedad: {Ed002's Note - I really don't know of any serious interest from Liverpool in Griezmann, but he has been watched. Players are watched all of time by scouts representing the likes of Liverpool and more often than not rumours begin when a scout has attended a game and is doing no more than taking a look at one or two players. Valencia, Marseille and Lyon have shown some confirmed interest in the past and repordedly Barcelona tool a look at one time. The only club that made serious enquiries in the summer were Athletico Madrid and we are aware that such a move would have been acceptable to the player. Chances of a January move anywhere are very slim.}

Krasic- Juventus: {Ed002's Note - Juventus will be open to good offers for Krasic at some point but it is unclear if the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Malaga and Roma are still interested in a player who has not taken well to sitting on the sidelines. The player has declared his interest in Manchester United and it is not out of the question that they may be interested in Krasic. Juventus may value the player out of the winter window though. There is at least one person at Chelsea who very much likes the player and may wish to revisit earlier interest. THere is no indication that Liverpool are interested in him.}

Strootman- PSV: {Ed002's Note - Kevin Strootman maybe possible for Liverpool but I would be surprised if PSV would let him go in the January window. So perhaps one for the future.}

Tiote- Newcastle: {Ed001's Note No Liverpool interest that I know of His injury record, disappearance to the ACON and regular suspensions are very offputting for teams.}

Lass Diarra- Real Madrid: {Ed002's Note - Lassano Diarra is playing fairly regular at Real Madrid but still may be moving in January or the summer. Anzhi have made a very significant offer but I understand Roma are very interested in the player and the player is open to a move to Rome.}

Fernando Reges- Porto: {Ed002's Note - The Porto player holds a Brazilian passport but AC Milan may challenge Chelsea and Inter Milan for the player at around £20M. Porto are keen to hold on to the player and will attempt to turn down any January bids. AC Milan would need to give up one non-EU player (probably Mario Yepes) to bring Fernando in and may chose to figure out if a deal could be done for Ganso or Goetze instead. He would be a great buy if Liverpool could get him, but we do not know of any confirmed interest at the moment but there has been speculation.}

Xherdan Shaqiri- Basel: {Ed002's Note - If he were to be available now then there would be plenty of interest including at least Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Hamburg, Leverkusen, both Manchester clubs and Liverpool. A January move seems very unlikely}

Muniain- Athletico Bilbao: {Ed002's Note - Muniain has been touted around the clubs on behalf of Bilbao - and two clubs in England have certainly been approached all ready. The asking price is 40M euros. They won't get it. I don't think clubs would risk half of that on a player who is young and has shown himself to be pretty immature. Roma interest is still there but perhaps an eventual move to Barcelona beckons.}

Redmond- Birmingham: {Ed002's Note - He seems to be attracting some attention from Liverpool but I don't know that he will be moving in January.}

Looking at all these posts you can see that Ed001 and Ed002 do so much work on the Liverpool page at replying to post and I am sure that there are more Eds working behind the scenes. Stop slating them because they don't give the answer you want to hear.

P.S Ed001 you and Chris/Curtiss where talking about setting up a new page that a update could be done on. Has anything been agreed on this as I would be happy with chris/Curtiss to do one for the Eds?

Red Rout

Hi eds and everyone, great site as per usual.
I don't have a source or or am I stating who will be coming but if I was king Kenny I would buy Adam Johnson simply because I think he would flurrish at Liverpool he would chip in with goals link up well with both Enrique and Johnson and provide some quality winger attributes to our team. I must admit I am concerned about the lack of ruthless finishing so would look to bring in a striker as cover and to create competition for places as we are a bit thin on strikers. 2 years ago everyone seemed to think u needed 4 quality strikers to compete and realitically we have 2. Bellers and kuyt have been made more versatile and although both great servants would not like to rely o. Their goal return over a season.
I think Andy Carroll will come good! This run of games he has in front of him should get him in the swing and if grabs a few goals the pressure will soon start to ease off, we tried our best to whip balls into him against city which made our game hey 1 dimensional and predictable. He could do with some training on hold up play and ball control aside from that I'm sure he will come good and chip about 15 goals a season in upcoming years. He was never worth the money we paid for him but he's an asset long term and the lad needs our support not grief.
I'm not sure who would be a good buy for the interim but someone who is ruthless and greedy. Thierry Henry would have been a good snip for a loan but I think arsenal was his only destination. I like the sound of his link de Jong and perhaps podolski who I see adapting well to the prem.
The way we play is fantastic and looking around the team we are strong in most areas. I think constant shooting and finishing practice is a must as that is the only thing lacking. Kenny has got the Liverpool way back and I'm happy with our progress we won't be the team we all want to be immediately but we will be and I'm happy to wait whilst Kenny builds. It won't be far off and hopefully we'll pick up a few cups along the way. Chelsea are slowly self destructing and are not the team they were, spurs well they are living in a bubble and that's gonna pop when Harry takes the England job. Utd are getting weaker every season but the jammy swines will also be up there mainly down to their structure as a club, Kenny is trying to rebuild the same ethos at Liverpool which was sadly lost after houllier took over in my opinion. Leaving city who will be dominant for next 2-3 years the only thing stopping them will be the owners impatience if they don't win things they're expected to win they will chop n change managers which could be their downfall along with the superstar players not settling for bit parts instead of regular first team football. Arsenal will be up there but I see them struggling when van person is either sold or suffers from an injury which lets be fair is overdue as I've never seen him play so many games consistently.

I'm rambling now but we have great times ahead. So less of the superstar drew teams and more reality please. Support the team don't knock them Kenny is gonna take us upto the top. If we had to spend big money on a big name player I'd have Shaquiri as he looks exciting but other than that nice steady back up striker and lots of finishing practice at melwood get rush fowler in for a day ha then watch kennys master plan unfold.
And if anyone agrees we have some fantastic strikers of the ball Why can't we spend the first 20 mins of a game just peppering keeper with shot upon shot. If they miss then try again if keeper saves then try again he can't stop them all. If keeper saves and parries out have a vulcher like mentality ready to pounce for scraps, it doesn't matter to me as long as they to in. We can play keep ball and the nice possession after. Our midfield and defence is strong enough to cope if we go out all attack so dont tell me u can't do this. How's about having no respect for the opposing team for 90 mins and playing how we want to play. We will be feared after 5-6 consist ant wins and performances and that will give players confidence and as they all say confidence is key.
Cheers please post as its took me ages to type out on this bloody iPhone ha!
Anyone's thoughts are welcome.....

Take it you don't know much about football

F*** right off to the people that keep bashing Kuyt, he's been a great player for a long time and a fine man to represent the Liverpool crest, shame on you.

Atleast kuyt wants to play for the team. He Puts more effort than anyone to get into the starting lineup and win games

PauLFC

Kuyt has just lost confidence and tbh so would I in his position, scoring for fun last season this season playing second fiddle to the likes of Henderson and Carroll not that I'm slating them. To suggest Darren Ambrose as a Kuyt replacement is an insult.

Yes Kuyt was and is a great servant but his days at Liverpool are numbered. A true example of how far effort and hard work will get you.

Hi Eds. Recently I have noticed that we have been linked with Nathan Redmond a lot, who at 17 is playing a lot for Birmingham City. I watched him the other day in the FA Cup and it is clear that, although he is a good prospect he is still someway off the top level. How great is our interest (if there is any)? {Ed001's Note - how do you quantify that? We are watching him

Ive seen him a couple of times i think he looks a good player but for now i think the best thing for him would be to to remain at birmingham for the rest of the season and maybe even nxt season to develop better with experience.CRAIG

I thought he played like a carbon copy of Raheem Sterling.

Jatt YNWA

What i meant was are we going to make a bid at this transfer window or are we just simply interested right now? I saw somewhere that we are even ready to make a bid for him

"I thought he played like a carbon copy of Raheem Sterling.

Jatt YNWA"

Frankly speaking! i dun mind to have another Sterling around! so what's the problem with that? Perhaps you are claiming that we don't need someone in the same position?

Looks like it will be between us and City for Redmond.

hi eds, any news on darren bent? thank you {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

08 Jan 2012 19:38:45
Ed002 - When you say its time to move on in relation to Suarez, I'm presuming you are talking about the incident, not moving the player on.

Who would you like us to sign in the window, within the budget and policy that the club currently operates, you get two signings ?

Billericay Red {Ed002's Note - Correct. I think De Jong would be a good buy.}

08 Jan 2012 19:38:20
Hey eds have read a few posts in the last few days about replacements for reina and was just wondering have i missed something is he leaving or is it a couple of fans with an itchy trigger finger because he made a mistake or two? cheers. CRAIG {Ed002's Note - You missed nothing.}

Thanx for the reply also ive heard from a friend that we are monitoring victor moses and are very interested in two players from the dutch league one is obviously de jong and could you shed any light on the other one as he wernt sure. any truth to that or is it complete bs cheers again. CRAIG

He cant make another howler like last week because it will take the guts out of the team again.

I agree mate but i think he has been a great and loyal servant to lfc and we should not just start thinkin of replacements bcos of 1 or 2 mistakes even tho that was a costly one i still believe he is one of the best keepers in the world and youd be hard pressed to replace him with a better gk. CRAIG

Whens the last time he saved a pen. west ham at cardiff ??

And your point is? its an all round game thats important not wether you can save a pen and i think hes a good all round gk. CRAIG

08 Jan 2012 19:31:49
2 signings for liverpolo, in january junior hoilet will bring complete balance to our squad about 4m as he has 6 months left of his contract and luuk de jong as fiorentina have had a bid rejected kenny will be pressured into buying him 10m and we should have a squad good enough to compete for a champions league spot.

I agree mate, I think hoillet has the potential to be awesome. Up front I would still prefer to chase podolski or soldado.. But that comes down to my ignorance on de Jong. I've haven't seen him play at all and I don't wanna judge him based on YouTube videos obviously.

Surely this window will prove if commoli has a few aces up his sleeve with his past record he should.

Soldado would be class i also like v moses but he is a little hot and cold.
Soldado and De Jong would be amazing, i know its not plausible but just saying

What past record?

Hi eds
What chance do you think we have of buying the following out of 10:
Hoillet
Higuain
Ba
Podolski
L.De Jong
Abidal
Villa
Shaqiri
Tiote
L.Diarra
Thanks, great site Eds!

We are not going down that road, but obviously we know of interest in the likes of De Jong, we know Higuain will not be joining and we know Villa has a broken leg. If you use the search function that will give you detail, or search on "round up".}

It looks like we are taking a young (18) Ghanaian midfielder on a ten day trial with a view to signing him. Ghana Soccernet are reporting:

Ghana youth midfielder Mumuni Abubakar will leave Accra on Sunday night to begin a two-week trial with English giants Liverpool, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The New Edubiase United skipper was spotted by scouts of the Reds in November last year while on tour with Ghana's Under-20 in Italy.

The 18-year-old's name was penciled down after impressing in the friendly against Serie A side Parma.

Abubakar could earn a deal if he impresses the Liverpool technical team before the January transfer window shuts at the end of the month.

"Liverpool will assess him for ten days and then take a decision but I'm confident is not coming back to Ghana," Fifa agent Oliver Arthur told GHANAsoccernet.com.

"I understand he had a good game yesterday (Saturday) against Medema in the Ghana Premier League and so his fitness level cannot be questioned.

"He is a promising player and I wish him all the best."

Abubakar was voted the Sport Writers Association of Ghana Premier League Player of the Year for 2011.

Any chance in Rickie lambert eds? Scored goals everywhere he's played also a boyhood red I think we wud get him for next to ntn an wud score goals. I no this doesn't mean ntn but I've bought him on the new fm for 2mil an He has scored 13 goals in 13 games for me. {Ed002's Note - No idea, sorry.}

Thanks ed but do u agree wit me? {Ed002's Note - I simply to not see Ricky Lambert as a Liverpool player. Sorry.}

Southampton dont need money, so they can put a high price on his head..

Fm manager is nothing to real football you loon he wont be signing for liverpool at all

We've had some bad players ed so why not give Rickie a go? I don't c the problems 2 year contract cost us ntn an he's sure to score a couple of goals in return. Could u imagine what it wud do for his confidence joining his own team I'm telling u it's my a bad idea!!

No need to sign anyone anymore. I've just maxed up all of our players(with editor), so FM doesn't ˝say˝ LFC anymore. It says ˝A BUNCH OF THE WORLD'S BEST PLAYERS˝ and i'm sure that with this squad we will rule all competitions for the next 10-15 years. I'm sure Eds will agree

LEX

Rickie lambert's twenty nine years old, don't think he's ever played in the topflight. If he's the answer I daren't think what the question is. We need to be competing with Barcelona and Man city, can't see either of them going in for him.

David

And he's an Everton fan

Whilst he's scored a few for Southampton, even their fans think they need a new striker as he's getting slow and immobile

ED, out all the player we've been linked with, if you could pick who would you have and why? {Ed002's Note - I think De Jong would be an excellent long term addition to the Liverpool squad.}

I think luuk de jong would be perfect. And then shaqiri.

But we need talent for now

Hi ed, would you still say luuk de jong is still looking likely to sign this january? {Ed002's Note - I would not say likely, but possible.}

hello guys
over in paris and last night in bar wild talk about psg launching a bid for suarez and they are seemingly prepared blow madrid , inter et al out of the water. 45mil being touted. looks a good bit of business if it goes through. would allow us to buy qualityright winger and goal scorer. fair play to the lad suarez but all those tricks and fancy footwork isnt getting goals or helping others is it?

In a bar there was talk?
Village

Thinly disguised bitter post! unsigned nonsense.
kidmillions

This guy is a disgrace... he calls himself a "liverpool fan" but is happy to see a player leave for a huge amount of money. Suarez is the top premier league scorer for lfc so far this season and you say all the fancy footwork isnt making a difference. You sure are a rotten Manc...

RED INDIAN.

Can see any idea in selling Suarez, he is and will be one of the best strikers in the world and all the big clubs can see that. he will be even better next season. they can keep hiquain. give suarez the time, now gerrard is back, suarez and carrol will come good :)

Forgot to sign off the last post as Red from the Wood, before people to start to moan about no name!

Come on guys we have to be realistic and honet. Whilst the post may be a bit wild, if we are to get a 45m big from PSG it would be good. Yes he is our top scorer but he has 8 games all season, which is not good enough when you look at the goals being scored by the top 4/5 teams. when u add kuyt and carroll to the equation as well you have a grand total of 13 goals between 3 players in what 4.5 months. It is poor and not good enough and will not get us back into the top 4. 45m will get us a top quality striker and right winger, maybe even a defensive midfielder. we need to stop living in a dream world and look at reality and what players we will attract and what we need to do to get back where we belong. I have been a red for 30 years now, and given the press that has been brought on the club (ableit evra is not innocent), this could be good business for us.

Putting kuyt in there is harsh considering how little he has played and carroll also has lacked playing time and is young

dortmund red

Lets see we get 45m for suarez, and then what, then buy Hiquain, who say he will score? You cant garantee any worldclass player would do good. You have all seen what he can do. every defender fear him. who was the best player in south american qualifyer...SUAREZ... who won the best player.. SUAREZ... not messi,neymar, lucas,aquero,tevez, and so on and so on. what suarez need is just the right playmaker, and havent got one yet. Now gerrard is back. wait and see, have some faith. back the team up. lets see maybe next we can get 60m....who know...no one.

And you will not get a quality striker/worldclass in january, so forget it. sell suarez now and we will not get in top four. Suarez is worldclass, for example mario gomez, was nothing his first season, and look now everyone want to have him.

Without Suarez, other than Gerrard we lack a world class creative spark, and Gerrard be here forever.

Maxi and Bellamy cant play every game and Kuyt will be sold in this window or the next.

You take Suarez out of the picture and joining Liverpool becomes even less attractive for a world class or top talent player. We are having enough problems attracting a top quality striker already.

If we are seen to be selling our best / most valuable player in January, we wont get a replacement until the summer and so we will finish in all honesty 6th at best.

We keep Suarez at all costs and we add the best 1 or 2 players we an find that want to join us. BUT

What would you suggest we do with the 45 million. Blow it on average players like Henderson and downing? Suarez is one of only a few world class player we have, we should be keeping them and adding to them.

The big picture is, Suarez wont be alowed forget 'the incident' and he will be a marked man at every ground he goes to in the UK. Liverpool wont be allowed to forget they have a supposed racist playing for them, one that they did not sanction in any way despite being found guilty by an independent panel. We can moan about it all we want but those are, as rafa would say - the facts. To my mind, something has to give and although it may seem extreem to some, I see his leaving the club as inevitable. I also think no player is bigger than the club and those that choose to defend him can do so - but for me he has stained the good name of LFC and set off a chain of events that has serriously damaged our reputation world wide. There is the head-in-the-sand approach and there is the brutal realist aproach. Im in the latter camp. If PSG come in with a silly offer I personally thnk we should bite their hand off. Nothing to do with his ability as a player, he has been smashing but as I said, no one player can be allowed to cause such disruption to a club for whatever reason. Also, in purely economic terms the longer he stays at the club the more money he is going to cost us. Trust me, its only a matter of time before some sponser pulls away from LFC and that will force the issue. A lot of LCF fans juts havent grasped the significance of this issue and the damage that can be done to the club brand. A lot of people world wide look to Liverpool as representing something more than just football...YNWA and all that. We are in danger of loosing that unique alure.
The leadership from the top of the club has been sorely missing, why no comment from Ayre, Henry etc? Why has KK been left to shoulder the clubs reputation, who's disasterous idea was it to kit the players out in those tacky T-shirts and who has been writing those press releases which seem amaturish, emotive reactionary and foolish? All questions that need to be answered if we are to move on from this.

Hi! I've been a Red for 53yrs and Suarez is a fabulous player.
People forget he joined a cub in transition and which is still in transition. Had a great tournament in the Summer with his National side. Yet he's been able to come back and put in some fantastic performances score some wonderful goals and to all those who say he's not a goalscorer 150 goals in 264 appearances is a better career average than Higuain 95 goals in 192 games; who's also 24 the same age
kidmillions

We are in Transition! Have some patience and support THE TEAM INCLUDING SUAREZ.
can't you see were on the right track, were starting to dominate possession in every game we play; the goals will come eventually.
kidmillions

Suarez has admitted he made a mistake & now we need to move on. Remember the reception that Cantona recieved after his ban? You can pretty much guarantee that Suarez will get the same kind of treatment. He's bound to be taunted when we play Man Utd but who cares about them. Suarez is the most exciting player we've had since the 80's so let's get behind him instead of 'offering' him for sale to any club that may or may not show a passing interest

Support Suarez and stop prattling on.
Regardless of Race or Colour.
Patrice Evra is one of those people who would cause murder in an empty house.
I challenge anyone to dispute that FACT!
kidmillions

You sir, are a disgrace! Suarez is clearly our best player and you wish to flog him?! We don't need the money, we aren't skint anymore, money will always be there to spend if needed so surely keeping Suarez and spending our money on an additional goal scorer should be the way forward! You should be supporting the players we have and not thinking of pound signs when you overhear somebody in a bar!

Nice to see the (not so) "under cover" Mancs on this site being outed with their "sell the rubbish Suarez" posts.

Why are they so obsessed with us? Pathetic.
Lets hope there aren't pr idiots for NESV "testing any waters" too..

Luis is the jewel of an otherwise not particularly shiney crown!

People starting replies with "You sir" really irritate me. just say what you have to say without making yourself look like a jumped up nonce trying to be clever. Agree with comment that followed though!

So if you dont agree with the way the Suarez thing has been handled and/or you think the club might have no option but to eventually sell him - your a manc. Gottcha. I cant speak for the first poster who slagged off suarez's ability, I do not doubt his ability for a second. team him up with a lethal poacher like Forlan and with that combination of lethal finisher and a guy like suarez who causes havoc in defences; well, youd have a dynamite combination. I just think other matters will overshadow any ability he shows on the pitch. If some of you prefer to think this will blow over in no time, good luck to you. Had the club managed things differently and had suarez just accepted his punishement in the right way, or a least in a more clever way, things might be not be so trecherous for LFC but right now, but they are. The fact that Evra is a beligerant little c**t is neither hear nor there. If liverpool cant put up (proove there was a conspiracy or an injustice) then they have to shut up. They way they have eventualy done it has only made the original sin worse. Stupidity on every level as a fan of the club more so than any individual player, i am not going to bury my head in the sand and give all concerned with this debacle, a big round of applause. Liverpool are now walking on egg-shells with massive sanctions hanging over them for any slip-up. There will be loads of provocation from our enemies and it only takes one clown to make trouble for everybody as we saw at the Oldham game. Headlines flashed around the world - 'LIverpool in fresh racist outrage'. All that stuff puts huge pressure on sponsors, if one pulls suddenly there is pressure on others and a blacklisted mentality comes into play. Im not suggesting the club is hitting the skids anytime soon, or that they are going to go into financial metdown, im saying there is a bit picture that we need to worry about. Damage to the clubs reputation of this magnitude is not trivial and is not something that can be swept under the carpet because the damage is long term.

Ed is there any truth in Suarez to Real rumour?If they want him we need to ask for Higuain,I think that swap will be very good for us.Serbian Red {Ed001's Note - Madrid have been interested for a while, they are keen to sign him, but I have not heard of an offer going in yet.}

Higuain is not in the same league as Suarez need I say more.. I will " Evra is 30 and getting slower and definitely not as good a player as he was a couple of seasons ago and will leave the Mancs before Suarez leaves us. Higuain would be a good partner upfront with Suarez but not instead of him.

I'm pretty certain that Higuain would refuse to move to Anfield anyway as much as I would love to see him here.

Evra's irrelevant. He will get slaughtered at every Premier League ground.

According to a Madrid newspaper . Real Madrid have offered Liverpool a 29 million offer and higiaun as part of the deal .

For who?

Funny, can't find that anywhere...

You just posted Real offered 33 million for him. A few minutes later it is 29 million plus Higuain. I think he's worth more than a 4M make weight. ps. if you are going to pretend you are multiple sources, don't start you fabrications with identical sentences.

Take it........

Stop talking s**te

Part of what deal?

I will take this deal in a second

So that's about 50 million then, not very realistic

Suarez sorry

Best player Kuyt obviously

What are u all on about it's for andy carroll it's on a madrid paper they see him as the new ronaldo cause all the goals he scored and he's better skill then ronaldo ha ha bag of ham stop talking threw your hole

Op is that or euros - you don't state which in the original post

I'm sorry but if we sold Torres for 50 then surely Suarez - given his age and the fact he has a 5 year contract - would cost more than 50?! In any case, not for sale! {Ed002's Note - That is not how footballers are valued.}

Kuty best plater my foot. he has passed it

According to a newspaper in Madrid , real Madrid have made a bid of 33 million for Suarez .

Big Suarez fan but if this itrue can see the owners selling to put the race row to bed.

Because newspapers are always reliable.

Well they can go f*** themselves

Wavertree red

Make them offer 45m+Alonso then I would think about it.

I say sell up but close to 40 mil or get higuainas part exchange. or both higuain and ozil would be a dream.

If you can't even name the paper, it is clearly garbage. why even bother?

Selling Suarez wont end race row. We will still face disrespect from the masses because they always look for something to pin on us like those who continue to slate us for Hillsborough and Heysel.

Alonso is going over the hill now .

People need to get a grip I would jump at that deal but it's ridiculous if Madrid were stupid enough to make that offer I'd snap the hands of them, while Suarez is a great player he's still being outscored by the likes of Helguson, Holt, Danny Graham, Klasnic and Bent (who most people on here think isn't good enough) to name just a few, and he has so much baggage, I like the Kid but he's not what some people make him out to be, to be honest I'd be happy enough with a strait swap for Higuain after everything that has gone on the last few weeks.

Gman82

KD has said it before, and I wouldn't be surprised if he said it again, no player is bigger than the club. He let Torres go because of lack of form- once the bid came in. So why would he be so reluctant to sell now? Suarez has tarnished the reputation of the club, he's admitted he used a racist term against Evra, whether he believes that it's derogatory is irrelevant. He's a liability and I would sell him at the drop of a hat. Technically he is an employee, and if for example an employee of a supermarket racially abused a colleague or customer, they'd be sacked, so should Suarez. I'm a massive fan of Liverpool and it will be a shame to lose a top player, but I'd rather support a club in 6th place with good morals and ethics than a top four side that endorses racial discrimination. Other players will come in to replace him. If you ask me we would be better off selling him anyway to create a team rather than just have the endless 'one man team' debate.

I partly agree with Gman28 in that Suarez is an absolute nightmare for a defence but he is not a clinical finisher. Hopefully he can work on this and also rage control when things aren't going his way

I agree with Gman. suarez tbh isn't a world class goalscorer. His fancy tricks and nutmegs aren'thelping the club and being racist is unacceptable. We need a goalscorer. If we were offered 40mil for suarez i would snap it up straight away and buy a goalscorer. We need A Ba or a RVP and we need them now

PauLFC

He let torres go because of lack of commitment not form

dortmund red

You're knit picking. The point is he will let Suarez go if it's right for the team, which in my opinion, it is.

Fancy tricks and nutmegs if Lionel Messi played for us half the footie experts on here would want to get rid. Suarez is a Class player Fancy tricks and Nutmegs are just what we need.
kidmillions

Suarez is as close to messi as you can get skill wise all he needs is the finishing

Dont be stupid Messi scores 50 goals a season, theres no comparison!

You serious? We need goals. What's the point of dribbling round 7 players and then completely missing the target?

PauLFC

Forgetting his tremendous goal scoring record in the dutch league and for his country?

REPORTEDLY (Key word here, i'm not claiming to have a source) we are interested in Signing Adam Matthews from Celtic. He is a great right back in my opinion. A young welsh lad. I saw him play a few times for Cardiff, and if he has continued to progress as he was, over in Scotland, he could be a great signing. It would suggest however, that Glen Johnsons days are numbered. I can't see the club letting go of Kelly, and Johnson has contract issues which are causing Dalglish selection problems. Matthews would be a great back up to Kelly. If he was pushed forward a bit, he could even prove to be a Right Sided Gareth Bale!

YNWA! (Adam)

Matthews will never be a right sided Bale in your life m8. He is however a decent right back and Celtics best player in my eyes during the last old firm. I'm a Rangers fan so just calling it straight down the line, not in the same mould as Bale

Adam Matthews couldn't get in the Cardff team. If Glenjo's gonna be sold for this lazy and underwhelming player then we're seriously setting our sights low, as in Roy Hodgson low.

Ur a goonball underwelming, the chaps a gr8 right back, glenjo aint

This completely overlooks the presence of kelly and flanagan on our books

Ed any interest in Sunderlands James Mclean? Looks like a decent winger. {Ed002's Note - No idea, sorry.}

Im from derry where he used to play and hes definately not good enough for the reds hes far too inconsistent and thats not what we need. He often drifts out of games and is aimless when running with the ball! no chance!!

I was wondering how long this would take, the lad looks a great prospect, as for the poster who responded from Derry, I'd forget everything you know of McLean from his Derry City days, he may as well be a different player now, this is the Prem were talking about where clubs training systems are completely different to those used in the League of Ireland. To early to judge but give the lad a year or 2 and some international experience and he could turn into a great player. I'd also just like to take this opportunity as a true Irishman to thank Northern Ireland and the IFA for another good young player, the IFA is turning out to be a great academey for the FAI....on a serious note tho, how rediculous is it that on an island like Ireland we have 2 different football associations, I think its the only sport where it happens everything else seems to work just fine. If Northern Ireland got rid of God Save the Quenn as their national anthem (whats that all about anyway your not England) I think it would maybe help to keep a few more nationalist minded players from jumping ship. that actually turned into a bit of a rant...sorry about that!

Gman82

How stupid is this island countries? What a clown you really are. Do you ask how stupid is it for the island next to us to have 3 countries? Typical bigotry that will always cause a divide and split between Northern Ireland and Eire. On the football side of things, republic are welcome to any player who wants to defect and shows no loyalty, respect or class to the country that developed them. Tells you all you need to know about the people and their families. Better of without them. What's the problem with the FAI and their inability to develop players and feel the need to 'tap up' at the minute?

Technically speaking God save the Queen is the national anthem of GB & NI so should prob not even be used for England as much as it should not be used for NI. if Irish rugby is an example an all Ireland team, despite many misgivings might be the way forwards.

Big Jon.

I can understand NI fans feeling agreived at loosing players but instead of maoning about the republic, should they not be asking themselves the fundamental question, why do NI Catholics feel no connection to the team? Could it have something to so with the citadel of bigotry that windsor park has been for decades? Could it have something to do with Neil Lennon receiving death treaths against himself and his family for putting on the shirt? As usual myopic NI fans can only see one enemy, try the man in the mirror. The apointment of Michael O'Neill might go some what to changing the landscape and to be fair, the IFA have done a lot of work in fighting sectarian bigotry but I still think it wont be long until the boo boys are looking to drive out the first Catholic manager in 50 years..

I'm a catholic from derry (like mcclean) and the thought of going to a stadium in the unionist heartland in front of fans waving uvf flags and chanting sectarian songs doesn't appeal to me at all. McClean like many Derry people supported Rep.Ireland rather than northern so why shouldn't he follow his dream when the chance comeup?

I cant believe some moranic unsigned post called me a clown and a bigot after my post, this is a banter page mate lighten up, just out of interest what part of thinking that we could have 1 football association is bigotry? In fact of all the posts on here yours is definatly the most bigoted, "tells you all you need to know about the people and their families, better off without them" what for making a choice their perfectly intitled to make, the Rev. Paisly couldn't have put it better himself, why would they feel Loyalty to anything in any way that isn't Irish when it is their right the same as anyone born on this Island to be an Irish citizen. It's hardly the most attractive thing for a young catholic footballer to play for the North after the incidents with Lennon and McGinn is it? Eds sorry for my original post bringing up politics like this, I know its not what you want and this certainly is not the place for it but that response has really annoyed me.

not a rumour but eds can we sell aquaman now to ac toor does have to trigger the games clause for ac to buy him? thanks. pops. {Ed002's Note - They have to buy him after a fixed number of games, I think 25.}

League games or any type? Also how many games has hen played so far? {Ed002's Note - First class games. Surely you can look up how many games he has played on the Milan web site and don't need to ask me.}

Aquilani has played 15 game for milan so over half way there!

He has played 15 games so far, so unless he gets an injury, AC Milan will probably have to buy him....Ed do you know what the transfer fee will be? {Ed001's Note - it wasn't much, well below 10m if I remember rightly.}

Think it was 7.5M euros

08 Jan 2012 16:11:24
on a scale of 1-10 wat is the interest in luuk de jong
{Ed002's Note - Sorry, we are not going down that route. We have explained the interest in De Jong.}

Liverpool interested in Borussia Mönchengladbach Defensive Midfield Havard Nordtveit

He was an outcast of arsenal :P

08 Jan 2012 15:58:24
Demba Ba will not becoming to Liverpool. He would not pass a medical and furthermore it would not be possible to obtain indemnity cover for his knee. The owners would not sanction funds for such a situation.

Ozone

Although I'm not saying it would happen either, how could Newcastle insure him and us not or are we saying he is not insured at Newcastle. Just wondered what your insurance knowledge was to say that? {Ed001's Note - it would depend on the contract he was signed to.}

Are lfc turning into mike ashleys pension fund ??

10 milo for ba is a bargain

08 Jan 2012 15:48:44
Hi Eds! Great site.
How possible is it that James Mccarthy will strengthen our midfield in Jan?
{Ed002's Note - I am sure Wigan would be willing to let James McCarthy move on if the right offer was made and Liverpool have previously shown an interest. Clubs enquiring in the summer baulked at the £20M price tag.}

08 Jan 2012 15:16:43
hi ed, any interest in adam johnson, james milner or richards? thanks {Ed001's Note - answered this loads of times, not that I know of, yes but not going anywhere and that has been made plain by City.}

08 Jan 2012 15:16:25
Liverpool have agreed a deal with Basel for Shaqiri. The fee is initial £12mil plus performance related add ons. The deal won't go through till the summer, so he can continue in Basel's champions league campaign. I have been told 2 signings will be made this month. Demba Ba is definatley not one of them. There is some substance to the Junior Hoillet link. Nothing is agreed in regards to signing him. He has been scouted for last couple months, and Liverpool have made an enquiry. Blackburn asking for £10mil for player who's contract is up in the summer. Some negotiating to take place in the next week or so.

Toblerone

Hopefully its true about shaqiri...I'm a very big fan of him and IMO he can bring creativity that we have been lacking off in our side {Ed002's Note - There is no deal agreed between between Liverpool and Basel.}

Even if he has signed wouldn't they announce it now? Reus is only going to Dortmund in summer but they announced it now!

PITSILFC

I don't understand why people are making things up about shaqiri.. surely Basel is waiting for him to shine in the euros so they can get a larger fee?

There can be something in it. hope its true. LOVE shaqiri, just the right man for the job. And in an intewiew with shaqiri 6month ago he said he would those Liverpool over Man Utd. And a bonus as i see it, we have a free spot on the right wing for him. Man utd do not, with giggs, valencia, ashley young, nani, hernandez, rooney, all can play there. we only have kuyt and maxi until the summer.. so i could actually see some truth in it. and why announce it now. i would wait till the end of the window. silent transfer. THE LFC WAY... hehe

His contract runs till June 2012, so the price tag will not get bigger but lower and at last for free. so if he shine it would not make any difference... {Ed002's Note - Shaqiri's contract has two and a half years to run.}

Thats the right move liverpool would do, get him now and let him play the season til the end for Basel. Help his club in CL. His contract runs till june 2012. so they his price would only get cheaper in the summer for free. so basel is doing a good deal here for 12m + add ons. good deal for basel if he dont want to extent his contract. :)

{Ed002's Note - There is no deal and Shaqiri's contract runs to 2014.}

Switzerland arent in the bloody Euros so he can't exactly shine in it.

reading today about suarez maybe to madrid for 30 mil also some talk of maybe a straight swap for gonzalo higuain i would be happy but i dont see much foundation in this with us not being in champ league is there much foundation to adam johnson coming to anfield and as a side note i personally would love to se shawcross in a liverpool shirt

If he is sold, it won't be for 30m that's for sure. We only bought him a year ago for approx 24m and he has come in and shown he is one of the best forwards in the world who could easily just fit right into any top team like barcelona.

If anything, he would be sold for at least 50m!

Biggy Balls

Adam Johnson was there for the taking,under the last owners/manager,for what ever reason we never bid for him.
Looking at him he's a bit temperamental,if thing's are not going his way,he gives up,dissapears.He doesnt help out his right/left back.
Why would city be looking for a replacement?Or to off-load him if they were happy with his progress?

08 Jan 2012 15:12:46
Hi eds rumour today about abidal. it true?
also mcleish has said kenny has said he is not interested in bent. this true as well? {Ed002's Note - The summer is more likely as it will be financially much better for the player. PSG, AC Milan and Manchester City have enquired about his immediate availability. At his age he does not seem an obvious choice for Liverpool.}

08 Jan 2012 14:11:16
koptalk has reported that the talks between villa and liverpool are beleived to be focused on Gary Gardner a 19 year old center midfeilder and not Bent

KopTalk makes it's stories up in a bar in Spain or just re-writes stories from UK newspapers. It is a marketing con-site designed to initially get you to keep visiting and eventually to tempt you into subscribing to the premium pages - which are also made up.

have you heard of any rumours in the following 2 players ed ..
Jackson Martinez
Hugo Rodallega

there as been a lot of speculation around Hugo Rodallega over the last year. and there as been some scouting at wigan. but was it Hugo Rodallega or victor moses??? Jackson Martinez says he want to play with rodallega in england ?? any think on this ed??
{Ed002's Note - We have answered about Martinez and I do not know of any intyerest in Rodallega right now.}

not a rumor but tink we shud go for nigel de jong as replacement for injured lucas,proven in prem an not playin enuf for city...eds has the hoillet rumors any truth in them...cheers

We don't need a replacement for Lucas, we have plenty.

Backup dm is a must

If you have just watched the city game, nigel de jong will not be going anywhere. played fantastically

Back up dm is not needed what so ever. Got players to do the job for half a season at least! Half of the people aren't proper fans just addicted to FIFA an football manager, you'll never walk alone has a meanin. Have faith and don't get on their backs an they might just perform better than your hazards an gotzes

We just need some pace on the wing or up front. We lack severely in pace. Jose an Craig an Glenn, are only pacey players

Since we lost Lucas people are talking about a back dm, what a great credit to the young lad who stuck it out and is now getting his dues. Many player would have asked for a transfer after the sh*te he took. Liverpool legend in the making, Lucas

SamuiLFC

I not talkin as a replacement for lucas...talkin bout back up,an he is what we need for rest of season.breaks down the play,a great D.M

Well said SamuilFC

Afternoon reds, just my thoughts on our season and signings:

We have the core of a great side, Reina, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique, Lucas, Gerrard, and Suarez are all CL level players, and I think in the next few years we will add Kelly, Coates and Henderson to that list. I haven't included Johnson in the list because I can see him leaving. He is by far the most valuable (and expensive in terms of wages) player we could sell without upsetting the balance of the squad.

In terms of our current position in the league I'm happy. So far this season we have hardly had Lucas, Gerrard and Suarez on the pitch at the same time and I think any side would struggle without their talisman: City without Silva, Arsenal without V. Persie, United without Rooney, Spurs without Modric. I think Suarez has been our best player by default, having Gerrard in the team will allow Suarez to push forward more and bring better service to Carroll.

The only signing I'm not happy with is Downing. I understand all the reasons we signed him, but after a bright start (aside from some poor ref decisions he would have had a goal and an assist in his first 4 games, and hitting the bar v Sunderland) he now looks lost. He never beats his man and his crosses usually hit the first defender.

I think Carroll will come good. I've heard from some mates who work at Anfield all about his fitness issues and separate regime but with more luck he could have 3 or 4 more goals and the pressure would be off. I think he needs to trust his instincts more rather than over thinking it, but that's the nature of confidence for a striker.

Finally on to Jan transfers: one of the Eds mentioned he'd heard about Liverpool interest in Muniain a few months ago, is there any more news?

There's been a lot of talk about D. Bent, and whether he's good enough to play for a top 4 side, but to me that isn't the point, Liverpool don't need players good enough to beat Barca, Real M or City now, we can deal with that when we are in the CL, now we need a finisher to give us the extra edge over teams like Norwich and Swansea. I'm not saying Bent is the player we need, I think he'll be too expensive, but we do need a striker like that.

Please reply, I value you feedback

James {Ed002's Note - Muniain has been touted around the clubs on behalf of Bilbao - and two clubs in England have certainly been approached all ready. The asking price is 40M euros. They won't get it. I don't think clubs would risk half of that on a player who is young and has shown himself to be pretty immature. Roma interest is still there but perhaps an eventual move to Barcelona beckons.}

Great post with loads of facts, we all have to remember that kenny is still rebuilding and hes only just got started. but in my opinon we have out played every team we played this season with just the goal lacking. if liverpool had taken the chances more this season we would be were man city are.The signs are there and with 1 or 2 new faces it could gel into some magical .

I agree with everything said in your post.but i also think c.adam passing and crossing has been very poor in the last few league games.

Best bit of sense seen on here we need a poacher up front and a great winger on right then bring it on i say

Good post, I agree with much of what you say. Downing has been dire (although he looks as if he's been trying a bit harder in the past few games), particularly for the price we paid. But I think Adam is even worse - he doesn't last past the first ten minutes, he's weak in the tackle, and hopefully will be on the bench now with SG back. If we can get a decent winger and a poacher in January I'm looking forward to the rest of the season. Love to see Soldado, but for the price I really don't think Defoe would be bad. His goal scoring record over the past three seasons is great, he's still hungry and he's got a point to prove. Would be a good short term measure until we are back in the CL.

Great post and i agree most of it,
except lucas and henderson, lucas well everyone thinks he's great he isn't, he's ok but i don't personally feel he is of liverpool quality, henderson 20 mil for a player who doesn't have a position on the field, its insane theres a lot better, for a lot cheaper.

We need a striker to play up for with suarez and most importantly he needs to start, starting Andy C, give him some game time, he scored a great goal on friday.
and creative midfielders, we don't need a holding midfielder, attack attack attack, i personally haven't been impressed with adam, downing, henderson. We need a bigger squad with better all round quality but that takes time.
J-L,K

Adam seems to play worse when stevie is fit
Prob worried about the competition. Downing
Will come good. Just needs some cofidence
And when we sign a RW it'll help him out, there
Will be more balance to the side. We're getting
There! Just gotta have a bit of faith

I also agree with yours, i think LFC nid an experience player, i can sense tht Johnson will leave with Kuyt also. we just nid 3 person to signing only. 1 CB , 1 RM, 1 ST/AM. Downing would hardly to improve better, however

Would like to point out Adam has 8 assists this season! Hardly the form some people are suggesting!

Great post, fully agree.
Personally, think we need a better RW because downing just doesn't have it at the moment. i think he will come good, just needs to gel into a side where he knows his strengths, and knows where his cover is.
adam has disappointed me for the last few weeks, ever since the unlucky own goal against blackburn, everything is going against him.
so glad to see stevie back in and suarez ban is just ridiculous but thats man utd for you
we definitely need another striker, carroll has been a let down, just not the way we play, we dont need a target man, we need someone who is a clinical finisher. thats not suarez either, hes a creator to play on the left side of the strike. we should bring in reachable players such as: de jong, saldado, etc. not so big for a target man and quick on the ball
we have done really well technically this season and we are definitely improving. downing goal v oldham maybe just a lift he needs, however we will have to see. enrique great signing too
YNWA

Saldado would be top class, we just need a finisher, combine that with suarez, you have something special
J-L K

Eds,

Whats the chances of us signing Esteban Granero in the window?

Could be a nice snip at 8 mil

Exiled Scouser {Ed002's Note - Surplus to requirements in Madrid, could interest any number of clubs and may be used as a makeweight in a transfer. Only solid interest at this time has been from Blackburn Rovers and Sevilla but unsubstantiated rumours have linked him to Liverpool and Espanyol as well.}

08 Jan 2012 12:31:27
Ed's how long can we expect to see Suarez and Carroll stay at anfield? I was wondering about suarez due to his problems in the epl and no champions league football. And Carroll due to a lack of form. I'd love to see them both stay, but I want hear your well seasoned and experienced opinion of the situation. {Ed002's Note - I do not know of Carroll leaving at all. As for Suarez, it will depend on the owners and the player.}

Ed's why do you speak about Suarez as though he is some outcast? Clearly the club supports him and if the owners betray us and undermine Kenny Dalglish, they will not be very popular and LFC will not at all challenge for 4th place without Luis.

So I guess it is in their interests to keep him at the club!

5o's {Ed002's Note - I am not sure how you have come to the conclusion that he is being spoken of as an outcast.}

I wouldn't think Che***t will be thinking about getting rid of John Terry if he's found guilty in his case. Why is Suarez case different?

Ed, could you please explain this statement? in what way does it depend on the owners and the player? You have answered questions on this before but are still quite reserved. What exactly is the Suarez situation?
Great site {Ed002's Note - If the owners feel that the image of the business has been tarnished and if they feel their image has been tarnished and teh sponsors compromized, then they may have no option but to move the player on. Equally if Suarez is going to struggle when he returns, he may himself decide it is time to move on.}

Thanks
How much of a possibility is this? Would the club really do that? Because they showed such support for him over the incident and they stand by the fact that he is innocent and has been treated unfairly.

08 Jan 2012 12:45:24
Ed001 does our interest in soldado or luuk de jong still stand ? the only rumour that is spread everywhere is about hoillet {Ed001's Note - yes, interest is still there.}

08 Jan 2012 12:41:42
rumours ba is in liverpool for 10 mill any truth eds? {Ed001's Note - nope, he is off to the ACON.}

Wheres the ACON {Ed002's Note - Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.}

08 Jan 2012 12:39:36
Hi eds, just seeing a lot of rumours linking liverpool with a move for Eric Abidal. Doesnt seem to make much sense to be honest i think we have grand cover with fabio and flanagan.
But anyway eds and substance to these rumours?

D690 {Ed001's Note - his wage and age should give you all the answer you need mate.}

I posted a while ago about knowing someone high up in Liverpool. Manager of a certain department. I work with his wife and have done for many years and never knew this.
Just wanted to update you on the inside info I have received so far.
Nothing.
This bloke has regular trips to Boston for business meetings with John Henry about the stadium and he is still out of the loop as to what direction we are going to take.
Absolutely not a sniff about transfers either despite him getting loads back when the old losers were in charge.
I would love to know where Macca gets his inside info from, because anfield and Melwood are in total lockdown.
I used to know somebody who did a bit of work part time in the office and she used to get loads of info weeks before it was public. It just shows how well the club is being run.
I do still know a few players through work so hopefully I will get some info that way but I have met a few fringe players recently and they had no idea who would sign either.
So sorry about that I did my best.
The info about the pricing structure should be spot on though, this was the recommendation to John Henry.

Cheers

MIKEY

Jesus an honest and believable post at last!

'pricing structure'? Could someone expand upon this please!?

He means how much tickets will cost for different age groups, executives bla bla bla

To sign :

Junior Hoilett - 7million
Luuk De Jong - 12million

Junior Hoilett for 7 mill? Firstly he's on a free in 6 months.Secondly having watched him in televised games he seems only moderately talented and would he turn around the second half of our season? No way! If Kenny and Comoli rate him highly I'd be surprised.Either we go for him once his contact's up or we leave him to a club with less ambition than we have!

08 Jan 2012 12:02:50
who (if anyone) will be coming to anfiled in january?

Well i might be going to anfield to watch a match

Think I'll pop down for the Stoke match

I'll go 4 fa cup tie v mancs

08 Jan 2012 11:34:44
A big sport paper in sweden says that Liverpool are close to sign Demba Ba. I would be worry over he's injury problem.

I'd be more worried over the validity of the report.

I'd worry about that after he smashes in a few to help the club achieve a position in the top four.

DaveyBootle

Why would he go to liverpool, surley if hes leaving it will to be playing in sky blue. Same for tiote, liverpool do not have a chance

If we can get demba ba in a straight swap with andy carroll plus another 10 million going to us then i think that is really good business, he is tall, strong, quicker then andy carroll and a clinical finisher. that way we still have money to buy another striker to partner him and suarez. i know it s unlikely but worth a shot.RedTurk

I'd be more worried about not getting a goal scorer like him in!

Please ... dont buy him... he is just lucky as i see it. next season he is nothing. take luuk de jong instead, same price some say. if he injury prone, then liverpool will not take him. like Marquaux who didnt got through and then newcastle took him. and why buy a players who is going away for african nation cup. that would just be stuppid. and when he is back, then suarez is back.

Sky blue how woud coventry afford him ?

Bulls**t, why wouls anyone sign a player mid january who cant play untill march

^ do you mean like signing Carroll?

We signed carrol when he was injured and couldnt play in january why cant we sighn ba when hes away playing football for his country ...

08 Jan 2012 11:11:24
Whats the chances of arshavin coming to us? Could provide some spark. I think KK could get the best out of him. Arsenal open to offers. What do you think? {Ed002's Note - Unlikely I think.}

Who the hell is kk {Ed028's Note - Are you serious?}

Hope not. Arshavin days are over... please dont get him.. ..

Who's ed028? {Ed001's Note - he has been an editor for a while, he just doesn't often talk. He was obviously just so shocked, he had to comment!}

Kevin keane ofcourse!.......or more Likely king kenny.

Square tomato

King Kenny WTF! ?!!

King Kong. New centre back.

Alright Ed's - great site!

Just wanted to no your thoughts on signing Jordan Rhodes. He is in great form in a lower division, but not tried at top level. He does however fall into the owners out look of buying young up and coming footballers. He is a fox in the box but looking at his stats he also provides as well.

I haven't heard that we are linked with him, just asking the question. Do you think he would cut it at the top level?

I have heard rumours we are trying to see the availability of a move for Defoe. He would be a great signing in my opinion. Have you heard anything?

Jon LFC {Ed002's Note - West HAm and Newcastle seem interested in him.}

Getting Rhodes will be very tricky as in. Town don't want or have to sell
the chairman has said countless times he's not for sale.
It would take an stupid offer of about 10m and who's gonna pay that for a third div player.
Also Lee Clarke wouldn't dare sell him he desperatly needs to get town promoted he has spent loads of money and got nowhere

I can't see a chairman holding on to a player in the 3rd division who could play for a prem team.

That could his big chance to make it big, and the chairman would want to be a compete pr**k.

Dublad

08 Jan 2012 10:35:41
Deal for Hoilett agreed, fee is 7m. Spurs may also bid for him but I think they have to sell players first.

RM

Have you actually heard something or are you just making this up?

Why would we pay 7 million for a player whos at a club at the bottom of the league and is a free transfer in the summer? stupid

Have you missed the one or two out of 7

Gary cahill? 7 mill- chelsea or mancs....also in a relagation situation

Er, to get him now. Duh!

BW

08 Jan 2012 10:29:13
Hi eds, it looks like hoillet is defiantly on the move but probably to spurs, I'd love him at Liverpool and I think he would be a bargain price with his contract running down! But do you or anyone else have an opinion of Cristian Eriksen or shaqiri I don't watch much European football and I know YouTube is a bad indicator!? Dubred {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and AC Milan have shown an interest in Eriksen. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan remain the most interested club. Back in mid July someone from the Milan Press Office said he had heard of interest from Manchester United and that now appears to be the case. I doubt that January is an option for a move but perhaps the summer. The player has expressed an interest to move to Spain.

If Shaqiri were to be available now then there would be plenty of interest including at least Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Hamburg, Leverkusen, both Manchester clubs and Liverpool. I am also sure if he were to become available then Arsenal would also be interested, but it is tough to see him leaving a team he has been with since he was a young child during their Champions League run. Perhaps the summer is a better option.}

08 Jan 2012 10:14:23
Nigel De Jong to be surprice january 31st bid worth of 15million because liverpool need a good centre defending midfielder and also liverpool to try and get BA but will only pay 10m liverpool do not want to waste more then 30m this january.

I like that lol, 'do not want to waste more then 30 million' so you already know its gona be a waste. if we buy anymore over-rated british players then it might be.RedTurk

As cm kevin strootman is a better option.he can be used as dm too

Please dont get demba ba, he is good now, but next season i think he will be waste. like everyone else, he is one of thoes players who have 1 good run season and then ... buuuhh... he is nothing special. Nigel de jong, why get him? much rather like leroy fer or fernando, cheaper and younger. please dont buy any of them..

I understand ba's release clause is 10m anyway so why would we pay more?

Why would he leave? ba that is

I think we have contributed more than enough to Newcastle's bank balance by paying 35 mill for Andy Carroll.

Seydou Doumbia wants a move to the EPL, this has alerted Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal. A bidding war will decide his future this january.

BillzWheelz {Ed002's Note - There was an enquiry from Newcastle about Doumbia and it is likely if there is another English team who have actually enquired it will be Arsenal. No doubt other clubs have had scouts at games but that is some way from making any serious enquiries for the player. Doumbia does a good job of talking himself up and CSKA will likely want £25M or so for the player. Getting through to the last 16 of the Champions League makes a January move less likely.}

Yep Ed's right that happened to me in football manager, went to Spurs for 28 mil, was quality mind.. :P

Went to spurs on mine too...although if we judge Football manager - Liverpool will get Di Maria, Shawcross, Mussachio,

08 Jan 2012 10:04:49
hi guys great website. i know that we have doni for our back up goal keeper, but what is going to happen with our other goal keepers such as jones and gulasci who is on loan at hull?. Also are Liverpool interested in higuain from Madrid?. Thank you. {Ed002's Note - I understand Martin Hansen is third choise and Higuain will not be moving to Liverpool in January.}

08 Jan 2012 09:42:24
Loving the idea of Luuk De Jong, but concerned about service for someone who appears to play so straight up the middle. We can't get the ball accurately within 6 feet of Carroll so how will that improve for a new 'target' man, even if he is a little more mobile?

I reckon that his better mobility and better link up compared to andy atm would mean that it wouldnt be a problem

I think any target man would prove to be a waste as it already has with andy until the wings are sorted and a better final ball is delivered no target man is gonna get the service he requires to be effective

We do have gerrard to cross the ball

08 Jan 2012 09:38:02
hi ed how's it going,its saying on sky sports news that teams are coming in for super suarez, real madrid,paris st germain being too.do you think that we might let him go,just for the fact that it might be best for us and him.i would not like too see him go what a great player he is, but the banter and stick he is going too take full time now when he return's it just might be best,and 1 last thing do you think a deal with andy carrol going back to newcastle and us getting ba and maybe tiote on the cards.loving seeing the G MAN back.keep up the great work on the best site there is,up the reds in king kenny we trust.walk on walk on,jay essex red for life red till dead {Ed002's Note - In respect of Suarez it will be down to what the owners want and what the player wants. Nothing on Carroll at all.}

I dont think we should get demba ba, he is nothing special, he have had one good season. i dont think he will get one more. i dont think liverpool will sell suarez, they are building the team up arround suarez, bringing in coates, and plus he have a 5y contract, so PSG and REAL M have too pay big money for him. 40m+ as i see it. at that price i would not sell him.

I am all for getting behind our players, and Evra is by no means an innocent party to this. However, this has in my opinion tarnished our name and reputation and if Mardrid or PSG want to give us say 35m (roughly 10m profit), we can use this to get a striker who is fitting of the name and badge and will score goals. Looking at SPN, betwen Carroll, Kuyt and Suares that don't even have 10 figure goals between them all. Thank god for the mad welshman Bellamy!! 35m could get us a good striker that can adapt/play well in the premier league, and get us goals, and try and get the best out of carroll. We need a proper right winger, either that or play kelly at RB and push johnson to RW. We need a player for the middle that will sit and break up play like Tiote or De Jong, who can then play alongside lucas on his return. Adam and Gerrard can the interplay in the attacking centre position with Henderson learning from them. Things are improving and getting better with the big boys buying as well, we need to do the same to keep pace. Keep going RED'S!! Red from the Wood

According to givemefootball.com, Liverpool have held talks with 'Jaguares' over the possible signing of 'Jackson Martinez'. Any truth behind this Ed002's. Havent seen him before, but I don't think we would be linked with him if he was poor?? {Ed002's Note - There are certainly rumours about Liverpool's interest in Jackson Martinez, but all I can confirm is that Porto and Sporting Lisbon have been interested in him very recently.}

08 Jan 2012 08:15:41
Spurs looking to get rid of dos santos. Any chance eds? as he is a great attacking player who could play on the right {Ed002's Note - No, I expect he will move to Spain.}

Jesus, i really wish he would come to us, i have rated him for so long and can really see the talent he has, but ol' 'arry can't seem to get it out of him, maybe gio can't understand what the f**k arry's on about

As Harry Redknapp once said about him,''If he could pass a night club as good as he could pass a ball,he would be an exceptional talent''.
Looks like the Grafton might get a new regular!

I have a feeling you got that quote ever so slightly wrong...

Where have you been grafton closed years ago

the guy from paper talk on skysports said psg juventus inter madrid and co are interested insuarez. also he reckons we are the favourites in a 6 way chase for £10m Demba Ba. just usual paper talk or do you think there is truth in this? {Ed002's Note - There would certainly be teams ready to take Suarez. I don't know anything of Liverpool taking Ba.}

McLeish has insisted that the player will not be sold, but rumours have persisted.

However, the former Birmingham manager, who is also hopeful of completing a short-term loan deal for Los Angeles Galaxy striker Robbie Keane within the next 48 hours despite what he described as "red tape" holding up the move, says that no-one he has spoken to, including Dalglish, has expressed an interest in Bent.

Of the continued speculation, McLeish said: "It's not frustrating, it's just the transfer window.

"People like to speculate and use social networking sites and they are having a field day.

"If there is anybody out there that wants him they certainly haven't contacted me and Darren has said on the record he wants to stay at the club.

"Whenever I have asked anyone outside the club I've been told flatly 'No'.

"I have spoken to Kenny and he said there was nothing in it."

Liverpool have spoken to Blackburn about hoillett but aperently according to the players agent he is keen on tottenham as he wants to make sure he gets champions league football

Hoillett wants to make sure he gets champions league football what a laugh do u think he would get in the spurs first team anytime soon no he's a kid with promise thats all if we get him great but he's only going to be a sub to start with in the future who knows. RED KENNY

He should look what has happend to Steven Pienaar,regular in the Everton team,playing quite well in a poor side.Moves gets injured,can't get in the side,looks average.
Hmm maybe he should go to Spurs!

Damien Comolli apparently on his way to Germany to meet Podolski.

My source is unreliable although 400+ people have agreed with the statement, surely they can't all be wrong?

Source: Sky Sports Forum {Ed002's Note - They are either all wrong or all right.}

Who? I have not heard of either mate.

Bazzaa

A move for Luuk De Jong getting significantly closer.

I have been on over 10 transfer sites and they are all claiming that junior hoilett is in talks with liverpool.

Nick_upton97 {Ed002's Note - They are all repeating a single story from elsewhere.}

08 Jan 2012 01:59:42
hey ed,any truth with the jackson martinez interests? {Ed002's Note - Please read down the page a little.}

Eds, Have LFC shown any interest in Jordan Rhodes? 21 year old has scored 27 goals already this season, Great finisher playing for Huddersfield, scored Five against Wycombe the other night, wouldnt cost a great deal either! {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest from Liverpool - Newcastle and West Ham are certainly chasing Rhodes.}

There where Liverpool and tottenham scouts at the game aswell as everton... The player is keen on a move to spurs but everton look favourites

Rhodes? Where we're going we don't need Rhodes.

Ed even man utd have sent scholes on a scouting mission to scout rhodes

08 Jan 2012 00:35:50
whats the story with pacheco is he coming back to england i know norwich want him but they cant afford the 3.5 million price tag {Ed002's Note - I really don't think he will play for Liverpool again.}

Of course Norwich can afford 3.5m they got 40m in tv rights plus parashoot payments from getting promoted but they won't spend that much on an unproven player!

3.5m for a player with his potential is a joke we should do what barca do sell them but have buy back clauses in over the contract.

You don't get parachute payments for getting promoted - they're for relegated clubs. Hence the name. What you gonna do with a parachute whilst going up in the world?!

Liverpool 'hold talks' with £8.5m striker
Liverpool have reportedly made a move to sign Jaguares striker Jackson Martinez.......any true eds?? andy red {Ed002's Note - There are certainly rumours about Liverpool's interest in Jackson Martinez, but all I can confirm is that Porto and Sporting Lisbon have been interested in him very recently.}

Dont think he is good enough and we should certainly not be looking at these very average players we are Liverpool FC we should be trying to get the best possible players we can.

BigD

I bet united fans thought
Cicarito was average and look at him u never know

Personally i think chicharito hasnt done much this season...

Wat about last year

Am i alone in saying Vorm would be an amazing replacement for Reina?

Personally rate him up there in the top 3 keepers in our league really has got Swansea a few points this season and hi athleticism and reflexes are second to none.

Has potential

Reina doesnt need 2 b replaced...neither dus he need back up as we have doni

Why does Reina need replacing? If Reina was to leave, which I doubt very much, then yes Vorm would be a good choice, but Reina is happy, so no need for a replacement.

RenegadeRed

There is a year between vorm & reina so what would be the point? ynwa

Sorry people but i think vorm the keeper for swansea is better then doni from liverpool think he would be great back up for reina

Vorm is at least as good as Reina and better than Doni.

BooDaBooze

He let another dolly in against oldham . dreading wednesday

I was talking him up the other day,i totally agree but i don't think reina will b replaced.

skurks

Hi Eds

Is there any interest in the following

Shinji Kagawa (Borussia Dortmund)
Cristian Eriksen (Ajax)
Lukas Podolski (FC Koln)
Marco Reus (Borussia M'Gladbach)
Lucas Moura (Sao Paulo)
Gaston Ramirez (Bolonga)

Cheers {Ed002's Note - Use the search function for the detail but briefly: Has been looked at; No; Not at this time but that could change; already moved in teh window; a few moinths back but not one for this window; has been looked at but I expect him to at somepoint move elsewhere.}

Reus has gone to Dortmund!

Hi eds

In the last two days we have have got rid of bent and de Jong rumours.

Who left as real target up front

Paul
Ynwa {Ed002's Note - Rumours persist of Martinez and Sow. I would not write De Jong off completely.}

Cheers ed

What about rimerez would he be a target at all {Ed002's Note - Whilst Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool I remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club. A move to Sevilla, Palermo or Juventus, who have now made a firm offer, is also possible - although unsubstantiated rumours suggest Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested. It is in the best interest of his agent for him to leave Italy where the transaction will be handled by the agent himself. Bologna are looking for 15M and the agent is looking for a signing on fee for the player as well. If no suitable offers are made, then the player will stay at Bologna through to the summer.}

08 Jan 2012 00:52:49
I work in a blackburn hospital. Sadly hoilet was in last week for scans and he said he loved anfield but maybe in the summer. I support liverpool and everybody loves him in blackburn but people saying he is signing for us are wrong. He wouldnt pass a medical anyway.

Hi my cousin works in the ticket office at anfield an shes heard that liverpool are after hoilet from blackburn an sinclair from swansea an she reckons they could be done in the next week any truth ed lee lfc {Ed002's Note - This was dealt with in earlier posts Lee.}

08 Jan 2012 00:52:22
I know Alex McLeish said that Liverpool are not going to sign Darren Bent, but if you remember in the summer, Arsene Wenger said that Arsenal will not make a bid for Arteta, and they did and ended up signing him

Maybe McLeish is doing the same!

Stop trying to resurface the rumuor, is dead and it better be!

I can think of many instances where players are 'not for sale' and are sold.

Suarez, Torres, Carroll, Kaka, Ibrahimovic, Downing, Berbatov, Ronaldo were all sold after their respective clubs refused to back down in the media. And there are certainly many more.

Martin

Hey guys, just passing on info from a close source, that there was a Liverpool scout at the hull city game today, supposedly looking at Tom cairney cheers Nath

They have a young 16 year old who plays for England. We have been linked with him.

08 Jan 2012 00:18:21
Junior Hoilett would be good for under £6 mill, add the unlikely signing of De Jong and we are getting there. I am sorry to say that Pepe is getting too error prone for LFC and in the summer I think we will trade a Spaniel for a Frenchie. You know who I mean. YNWA

Too error prone? Him and hart are the best keepers in the league!? If pepe goes it won't be because he's not good enough? Honestly I can't believe you actual said that.

There are a lot of good keepers in the league...Pepe among them. Really...name the goalie that has never let in a questionable goal now and again--bethca it's a short list. Take a chill pill dude!

Too error prone! he has had 1 or 2 bad games. name any player that has never had a bad game. pepe is one of the best keepers around.

When a goalkeeper makes an error it usually results in a goal, whereas when other players on the pitch make a mistake, it may not result in this. This is what is making Pepe look like he is a "bad goalie".

Name the last time pepe had a good game!
Also look up the stats, his figures have dropeed big time over the last couple of seasons.

Reina made few errors but they are not too often. He has made some brilliant or i must say even better than that saves this season. Why just one error leads us, on his way out. He is class. YNWA

Kid you'm off ur head reina is the second best keeper in the world behind the legendary iker casillsas. you need ur head fixing. joe hart might be a good keeper, well he is , he has never made a match winning save unlike reina.

Iker is the best keeper in the world. he has had off days! pepe is a beast !

Pepe is and has been 1 of Liverpools best players since he arrived, he doesn't need replacing your person

Reina doesn't need replacing at all still a very good keeper but second best is a stretch. Valdes, Neuer and Lloris are better. Reina is a good shot stopper and his distribution is very good

GuvTOB

Reina is such a good sweeper-keeper, he stops 'chances' before they even have time to actually become 'chances'!

Some people don't even notice how good he is at this - he prevents would be 1-on-1's regularly, in situations where other teams with lesser keepers often look exposed by an early or clever ball when playing with a high line as we do. Without him and you'd notice. Teams seldom get in such situations against us - with a striker through 1-on-1 with the keeper, a large part of the reason for this is Pepe.

That is the beauty of his game. Its no coincidence that our defence has been sound this year with Pepe bailing it out, coupled with the pace of Agger and Skrtel.

Even Schmeichel made huge f**kups, and he's imo the best I ever saw.

Pepe is amazing, with another decade at the top if he looks after himself. This is silly talk about him being a bad keeper - borderline idiocy in fact.

He is a key player for us. In the top 3 ever to play for us - ever - imo. It's not like he's 'past it' (like poor Carra - no offence!). He's still young for a 'keeper.

BJH YNWA.

Looks like we're getting Hoillet & Jelavic guys.
What do we think to those two?
Personally,Im not overly impressed with either,they seem like 'Villa' type signings,but hopefully Kenny's done his homework this time & not rushing in blindly,like we did with Carroll.
Or is he the worlds greatest now he's scored goal?

Jezza

Lad we dont need a striker! andy carrol is amazing! the goal proves it, hes gonna be on fire now, he can teach suarez a thing or two! best striker in the premier lea...*cough*

Wake up to yourself. His goal against Oldham proves nothing at all. What the hell can Carroll teach Suarez? He is not good enough muppet!

Steve

I think the comment was sarcastic....

Any half decent prem keeper would of saved carroll goal vs Oldham

I am sure he is joking, hence the *cough*!!

You obviously don't appreciate Sarcasm then Steve

I guess the word 'irony' is lost on you Steve!

Suarez has technique, skill and pace but he hasn't got the aerial ability ir the power like andy carroll has so they are both good at what they do.

Steve to be fair mate I think your the muppet there. The guy was clearly joking! Or do you reckon his name is Cough?!

Ever heard of sarcasm steve

Good god, first off, sarcasm. And secondly, do you people even support Liverpool?

If a Liverpool player, who we very much need to find some confidence infront of goal over the next 4-6 weeks, scores a decent goal, you don't depict every bit of it and say it shouldn't have gone in.

Last year Suarez' goal against Stoke, should have been cleared off the line all day, it rolled in because the defender had the most unlikely clearance attempt. His goal against Sunderland a few weeks later, 9/10 keepers wouldn't let a ball get in from such a tight angle? - Oh no you can't say that about King Saurez.

Regardless of the keeping skill, hitting a ball so cleanly when your backs to the goal and getting it in the net from outside the box is class. Personally, I'm thrilled he scored such a goal and want him to keep banging in his pelting left foot shots, if he took shots as much as Saurez he'd probly be into double figures by now!

Fickle fans, it's Lucas all over again, support your team and the players in it, or just jog on to the City bandwagon.

Hey guys, apparently we are back in the lead for Keisuke Honda. His contract expires this month and CSK has already started the procedure of buying a back up. If we get him, champions league may just happen.
YNWA

Champion's league won't happen. We've had the chance to jump into fourth spot, and continually fail to do so.
