Most of you know I rarely post rumours, but today i was shown a photograph of 5 people in a restaurant in liverpool. Nothing special but it included Stevie G, Skyrtl and Doctor Zaf, plus two other gents. I arrived home to find Doctor Zaf sacked.very strange and no idea why Skyrtl was there, didn't realise he was a big mate of Gerard. No rumour, just interesting. maybe?

Google Skrtel Birthday and look at the piccies. If they wearing the same clothes then it's the same event. At his bash Skrtel looks like he's wearing a dark crew neck sweater with a white shirt underneath. Matching earrings handbag and stillettos, with an in season permed shaved head.

No, it wasnt from that marco, it was in a small cafe/ restaurant, not very glitzy, and they wernt dressed up. Photo was from someone who spotted them today sitting around a fairly plane looking table somewhere. Definitely today, because when it arrived he brought picture over to show his pal with gerard. No idea what purpose of meeting was, prob nothing to be fair, it was just news so thought i would share.

Hey eds, firstly thanks for all the correct news I find myself checking transfer news and then coming here to see if it's true, I just wondered if we do manage to get a few players out is there any chance of keeper at all and do you really think Brendan will be gone in the summer just feel the players could do more at times but BR does have dodgy team selection.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - I think we have probably moved to the point of not making knee jerk purchases for the sake of it. Much of the goalkeeper hunt seemed to be for players who could agree a pre-contract for a move in the summer once their contract had expired. It is interesting to look through the list of goalkeepers Liverpool are known to have shown some interest in and consider their current status (as far as I know):

Perin - Benfica are in the midst of negotiating the transfer of Mattia Perin for the summer.
Neto - He has agreed to renew his contract at Fiorentina.
Romero - Sampdoria's Sergio Romero interests Fiorentina (if Neto does not renew), Everton and Basle. He has been looked at by Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester United (who have opted for Valdes). Available to sign a pre-contract and make a move in the summer.
Ruddy - Seems a move in January is unlikely - Liverpool has shown interest and Newcastle have kept a watching brief as a replacement if Krul were to leave. May interest Chelsea in the summer who will be looking for a replacement for Cech.
Ochoa - Ochoa's move to Malaga has not gone well and Liverpool has been maintaining a watching brief. With 13 fingers on one hand and 11 on the other, he would be the ideal fit.}

Thanks eds002 you guys are legendary please never stop it's the only place fans can actually feel close to the club

We really are poor at identifying quality players, all of them are as bad as Mignolet.

I'm going to start a whip round for some white sticks for the scouting team.

Ed002, didn't Fiorentia's president come out and say Neto will be moving on in the summer last week? Has anything changed ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Last night he verbally agreed to join Juventus.}

At least he should be able to catch a ball with all of those fingers.

Telegraph reckon Suso to AC Milan not happening - perhaps there is a chance for him yet at Anfield.

I think the bridges between Liverpool and Suso are pretty much burned. One of the Eds said he was trying to leave last season too.

I don't blame the guy to be honest. Especially when the likes of Balotelli who has done absolutely nothing come in and get given a spot in the starting 11 or bench.

There has been a lot of talk already during this transfer window about a possible exit for Saido Berahino to Liverpool or Tottenham from West Brom, with reports suggesting a bid of over £20million would be required to prize the forward away from the Hawthorns.

Sky sources indicate, however, that the asking price is actually between £12m and £15m, which will undoubtedly bring in several interested parties.

If we can sell Borini & Balotelli than we could go for him.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - You really need to stop cutting and pasting figures in from other places - try and forget the detail like that a little bit as it does cause to confuse.

West Brom are (albeit reluctantly) willing to let Berahino leave in order to facilitate some rebuilding Tony Pulis needs to do. A proposal has been put to Spurs, who have shown interest in the player, that an exchange for Townshend and Lennon would suit WBA. It may well suit Spurs but I am not so sure it would suit either of the Spurs players.}

08 Jan 2015 16:47:41
Sorry just thought i'd update fellow reds with price.

If its true he's available for that price than surely we would be daft not to get him and let Borini & Balotelli move on as neither are doing anything for the club other than collect there wages.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Try and keep away from the money BigD. It really does cause confusion.}

Hi eds and reds, just wondering if there is any possibility of Suarez returning to liverpool?! I've been reading that he's not having a great time with barca and with the sackings that are happening he's likely to be moved on? If liverpool aren't interested which English teams are if any? Can't think of anything worse than him playing against us! Lol
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance

Believable3 Unbelievable22

{Ed002's Note - Suarez won't be moving in January and Suarez will not return to Liverpool at all.}

08 Jan 2015 13:53:26
Thanks for the quick answer ed! Gutted really I would love to see Suarez play for us again. I know a few might disagree but he was world class for us! I'd prefer him to ballotelli any day with his antics and all!! Can I ask if u don't mind, why wouldn't he return? is it the owners or the manager?
Thanks for your help

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is history he is gone. Liverpool don't have the money nor the stomach to have him at the club again.}

08 Jan 2015 10:45:28
Hi Ed

Im sorry to ask but seens as everyone else is at it. Do we have any interest in Milner or Pjanic?

Believable5 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City are looking for James Milner to agree a new contract. I am not aware of any interest from Liverpool right now but would expect that the club would choke on his wage demands.

PSG and Manchester City remain keen on the signing of Miralem Pjanic but both are constrained by UEFA sanctions. Liverpool and Spurs are aware that he could be available at the right price - but that would be very high and the player has no interest in either club. Manchester United also made an enquiry before appointing a new manager, but it went nowhere. Dortmund seem to have dropped their interest. It would take a very significant bid for him to move in January and I don't see that happening.}

08 Jan 2015 10:41:23
Hi Ed's,

My first post here but avid follower for some time so please be gentle.

I read a story transfer today about Suarez and premier rivals, all speculation and I don't believe any truth in it however it did make me think.

Are you aware if Liverpool agreed a "first option" buy back on Luis Suarez?

Could this be Ian Rush all over again! (Living in hope).

Regards, Red-Oli

Believable5 Unbelievable19

{Ed002's Note - No, Suarez is gone from Liverpool for good.}

08 Jan 2015 12:12:40
If we're very lucky, he'll be back one day. Unfortunately it'll be when we get back to the CL and draw Barcelona.

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez would only come back on loan at the very most to recapture his goal scoring form like Barcelona did with Zlatan Ibrahimovic but even that situation is extremely unlikely. Although would love him back at Liverpool like the rest of us :)

Gday Eds,
If we do sell Lucas do you think we'll bring in a replacement?
If so, are there any hints who that might be?
Personally I think that'd be far more important than signing flappy Ochoa who is in no way better than Mignolet.

Thanks!

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool don't need a replacement for Leiva with so many midfield players on the books. Right now his move is very much in the balance in any case.}

09 Jan 2015 09:14:04
So many? 3 for 2 positions? Henderson, Can & Gerrard, with Stevie unable to play two games per week, doesn't seem a lot to me. I'm not including Allen because he's not good enough to be a 1st team Liverpool player and never will be imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You want to get down to Anfield and daub some abuse on the walls about Allen and all of the other trash you want out. Let them know how you feel, perhaps a small fire.}

09 Jan 2015 11:11:13
Well that's a rather glib remark. Why would I do that? I'm not hating on him nor do I any other player. I've nothing against Allen, simply don't see him as good enough to be a 1st team Liverpool midfielder, I'd love him to prove me wrong but his stats since joining the club don't lie. He has never consistently provided enough in attack or defence. You think differently?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No I just think it appalling that you don't even count him as a first team player - but that is the modern day Liverpool fan for you.}

09 Jan 2015 11:17:57
Oh & the only player I want out in January is Balotelli and I've never posted anything unjustly criticizing any player. Maybe you're mixing me up with sb else.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - So you also want to keep Allen who you don't see as good enough for Liverpool? Stranger and stranger.}

09 Jan 2015 12:59:45
Sigh. I was talking about the quality of our squad and having minimum 4 midfielders for 2 positions in our first team. Obviously he is in our 1st team squad and will not be leaving in January unlike Lucas perhaps. I've been a Liverpool fan for 3 decades so your 'modern day fan' comment is meaningless.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool is overloaded with players already. Can plus a couple of youngsters in Rossiter and Williams play in that position as well.}

09 Jan 2015 14:24:05
A very good point and I would personally love to see players from the youth set-up getting a chance. Tbh I think I've somehow forgotten about them since Rodgers seems to have stopped considering them. He's quickly losing all the credit earned from giving the youth it's chance at first.

Is there any Liverpool interest in Fabian Schar? A free agent in the summer and has been impressive in the CL.
