Hi eds,
This could be totally misplaced so apologies if its not at all Liverpool related.but I'm sure I've heard on here once or twice people asking about Emanuele Giaccherini. well Sunderland have opened negotiations for him and hope to reach an agreement around 8mill. So if anyone did mention him in relation to Liverpool then it's looking unlikely.
Thanks

Hi edds

I know chelsea were in for Gerrard a few years back I'm just wondering if any other clubs have been in for him over the years?
Cheers {Ed002's Note - Check with Ed001 tomorrow when he is about. He would eb much better placed than I to answer.}

Believable9 Unbelievable7

Apparently Mourinho wanted him at pretty much every club he managed. so I presume Madrid wanted him for a while.

I think RM wanted him around the same time they got Alonso?

Agree0 Disagree1

Madrid enquired in three consecutive summers; starting in 2008. In 09 they were seriously interested and apparently were willing to pay whatever we asked, but he knocked them back. {Ed001's Note - he has had a few offers, the only one he has come close to taking was the Chelsea one in 2005. That seems to have been a watershed moment for him, when he made the decision to stay as long as we want him. Though you never know what the future will hold.}

Agree1 Disagree1

Inter Milan once bid 35million I'm sure?

Agree0 Disagree1

Gerrard is quoted as saying that he, Rodgers, and FSG wanted to extend his current contract and it would get done. He looks to have worked hard in the off season during his rehab and looks to be in some seriously good shape at the moment. I think he is 100% focused on being here and pushing LFC as far as he can before retiring. Just one mans opinion based on observation and player quotes.

Ed 001. Was there big bids ever made for Liverpool players in the past that got knocked back? Have Liverpool made any big bids over the years which got turned down?

Thanks. {Ed001's Note - yes, of course.}

Gerrard is probally one of the last one club players left in the prem, and there probally won't be to many more now its all money

Eds, is there anything contractual, or otherwise, that can refrain Liverpool from rejecting all EPL based bids for Suarez? {Ed002's Note - Double negatives make this tough to understand - but as far as I am aware the clause in teh contract means that offers over x amount have to referred to the player tosee if he himself wants to talk with the other club. There is nothing to stop his agents talking to anyone, and only stupidity for Liverpool to force a player to stay when he doesn't want to.}

Believable15 Unbelievable13

08 Jul 2013 22:49:05
I wouldn't call it stupidity if Liverpool refuse to sell our best player to a team that is a major candidate to finish above us, as we are desperately fighting to finish in the top four, and we are not in a certain situation to sign a equal class replacement because of our table position and the lack of champions league.

Agree8 Disagree1

08 Jul 2013 20:13:38
any chance of strootman? {Ed002's Note - There has been no interest shown by Liverpool but he would welcome a move but would, again, be a player seeking assurances of playing time.}

Everybody is living in a fantasy world it seems, Suarez may be one of the best players around at the moment and has done wonders for us this season, but their has been a few times where he's put the club in difficult situations. He obviously wants to leave, whether its to a club in England or not. His heart is no longer at Anfield. WE MUST MOVE ON!

Translates as - Suarez's agent saying -

Luis is off, but you can forget about him handing in a written transfer request because we're going to screw you for as much cash as possible out of this deal.

Here is an roundup or summary if you will :

Jorginho {Ed002's Note - It makes some sense if Liverpool are done chasing Mkhitaryan.}

Christian Eriksen {Ed002's Note - I don't think Eriksen was ever going to happen. }

Alonso {Ed002's Note - Alonso may be available but I am not aware of interest from Liverpool.}

Hamsik {Ed002's Note - No.}

Gaitan {Ed002's Note - Gaitan, no - he will be expensive and is likely to move elsewhere. PSG and Manchester City remain keen on the signing of Miralem Pjanic. Spurs are aware that he could be available at the right price - but that is very high. Another English side have also made an enquiry, but it is not Liverpool. He was one of the players being considered by Dortmund as a replacement for Goertze. }

Sanchez {Ed002's Note - Attempts to buy Sanchez last summer were met by a 40M euro asking price although I suspect 25-30M euro will be nearer to what will be paid in summer for him if a buyer can be found this summer. Juventus had very clear targets and a significant budget to buy a player to play off their main striker, Llorente, but have opted for another solution. The only other confirmed interest is from Inter who are putting together a rather ambitious loan-to-buy deal for Sanchez. Try the search engine on Skrtel as I recently provided an update.}

Cissokho {Ed002's Note - In the past there has been interest. Cissokho is subject to interest from Lokomotiv Moskou of Kuban Krasnodar and speculation that Liverpool might again be interested as well.}

Gerard Deulofeu {Ed002's Note - Gerard Deulofeu was one of the two Barcelona players who was discussed between Barcelona and Chelsea clubs earlier this year and Chelsea were told he would not be sold. Offers from Espanyol and Bayer Leverkusen have been rejected. If a sale is possible, expect interest from Bayern Munich and also an approach from Txiki Begiristain on behalf of Manchester City. Real Betis, Everton, Spurs and Roma are all interested in taking the player on loan.}

Boateng {Ed002's Note - Boateng is available but there seems to be little or no interest at this time.}

Ben Arfa {Ed002's Note - Newcastle has done a fantastic job in sorting out Ben Arfa over the past 18 months. There was a time when it looked like Marseille were just going to give up on him. I recall my wife saying that Bursaspor offered to take him on loan and it was seriously considered before his moving to Newcastle. Arsenal and Schalke have shown an interest but in the unlikely event Newcastle were to make the player available this summer then I would think PSG would be the desired destination for Ben Arfa.}

Arda Turan {Ed002's Note - Arda was certainly looked at by Liverpool back in the day but clearly those that were in control of transfers did not progress any initial interest. Eventually he moved to Spain. We knew very early on that he would be leaving Galatasaray for Atletico Madrid once money had been freed up through the sale of Aguero - although there was strong interest from elsewhere. If Arda Turan were to move this summer the likely destinations are Turkey, England, Germany and Italy - with sustained interest from Germany with both Bayern Munich and Schalke 04 declaring they would like to take the player and from his former club Galatasaray. Atletico Madrid previously rejected a move from Schalke saying they did not want to sell in January and they would ideally like to keep him for at least another year.}

Muniain {Ed002's Note - Not as far as I am aware from Liverpool. I can see interest from several English clubs should be become available. Lyon, Bayern Munich, Napoli and Roma have sustained interest which may still be there but I could not see a cash deal involving Lyon as possible at this time. Rumours abound of Juventus and Palermo interest. It was thought an eventual move to Barcelona would happen, although his performances this past season have not been good at all and his temper has gotten the better of him again on more than one occasion. With his value dropping all of the time Athletic might well look to extending his contract.}

Dzsudzsak {Ed002's Note - I suspect it is an old story being recycled, but Liverpool showed interest in Dzsudzsak whilst at PSV and again in January when the club enquired after a loan. More recently Inter, Schalke and Parma have shown an interest. It would certainly not be out of the question.}

Bony {Ed002's Note - Recently there been varying degrees of interest from Swansea, Marseille, Newcastle, Anzhi, West Ham, Everton and a couple of German sides (Hamburg and Schalke) but of these only Swansea have put a bid on the table that is close to being acceptable. It would not be a surprise to see interest from other teams if a deal cannot be done with Swansea - perhaps Liverpool and just possibly Napoli and Roma. The player has said he would like to join Chelsea. Whilst an offer was made by Newcastle in January, the player was wanting to see if there was serious interest from Russia and it is still not out of the question that Anzhi will come in with a significant bid. For now, it looks very likely that Swansea could win out.}

Mkhitaryan {Ed002's Note - Nothing has been finalised at this time ( to Dortmund ) but right now it looks like it will happen. There is zero point in my trying to explain the detail today.}

Thiago {Ed002's Note - And not moving to Liverpool. Three clubs have expressed an interest in addition to Barcelona wanting him to stay.}

Lamela {Ed002's Note - I am afraid to say that Lamela won't be moving to Liverpool.}

Lukaku {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

Cavani {Ed002's Note - Keep dreaming.}

Honda {Ed002's Note - Liverpool has not shown any recent interest in Honda and he is close to a move to Milan.}

Alderweireld {Ed002's Note - I expected Alderweireld to go to Spurs to replace Gallas or Roma to replace Marquinhos and I would not discount either club showing an interest in him still. Liverpool decided the asking price was too high, but it is certainly less than that being asked for Papadopoulos. It looked likely that a move to Bayer Leverkusen would go ahead but they too see him as over priced. Maybe Liverpool will look to him again if Skrtel or Agger move on. Norwich have made an enquiry with Ajax and Arsenal may well show some interest if he is still available later in the summer.}

Ilori {Ed002's Note - There is interest in Ilori, so maybe. }

Moreno {Ed002's Note - I don't know of interest in Moreno.}

Papadopoulos {Ed002's Note - I suspect one cheap in Ilori plus one other. Manchester City, Dortmund and Chelsea were surprised how high the asking price for Papadopoulos was and walked away.}

Sakho {Ed002's Note - Sakho is on the list of targets for Monaco. Arsenal and Lyon have sustained interest in Sakho and there is some interest from Newcastle, Inter Milan, Manchester City and possible interest lingering interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona. Baader has explained that AC Milan and Liverpool have recently enquired about his availability but PSG are not keen on selling and the player is keen to stay.}

Atsu - Deal is dead

Hulk - No

Rooney - No

Torres - No

Hazard - No

Mata - No

Tevez - No

Neymar, Messi, Ibrahimovic, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and so on . NO

So please save the Eds some time, and don't ask all the same questions over and over and over and over. Wait for something to happen or wait for one of the eds to tell us when they know something. Please.

Have a great one lads! YNWA {Ed052's Note - Fantastic mate - thats great. SO basically, only Joginho and Dzuzdak are options from that list. While we all know the problems of the Ilori deal!}

Believable40 Unbelievable14

Haha excellent summery fella! If we were to buy them two, big if like, could prove very good for the squad.

Agree1 Disagree1

Jorginho is not a goal scorer, more of a play maker, at least from what I've seen, heard and read. Although he did do well when he was pushed forward due to Verona having injuries, he even played on the wing which I find surprising as he's not that quick or mobile with the ball. Hopefully, if we sign him he does fantastic though.

I think Luis Alberto, Borini and Aspas are going to support Sturridge with Coutinho for the goals throughout the season once Suarez leaves. Can't see us attracting anyone of renowned goal scoring ability coming for big money, think those days are over now. Heard we only bid £12 million with an additional £3 million for MK and got told where to go.

Agree1 Disagree1

I'd be very happy if we could sign Dzuzdak, he's very good and think he'd suit the Prem

Agree1 Disagree1

And they're both f**cking rubbish. that's just great

Agree1 Disagree1

So who are Liverpool interested in then? We may aswell send Hogan on an early retirement.

Agree1 Disagree1

That would represent quite a depressing summer if instead of a potentially exciting player in Mkhitaryan or Eriksen we end up with a player from Serie B and a guy who flopped in Russia add the possibility of Suarez leaving and Alonso going to Chelsea and I think we all be on the phone to Samaritans or reaching for the razor blades.

Agree3 Disagree1

One option left than. we have to keep Suarez to finish top 4.

Agree1 Disagree1

Thanks Ed052. ;-)
Yeah I guess so. I myself just wait and see what happens and/or what you guys tell us.
Just wanted to post a summary so maybe (just maybe) some people stop asking 100 times a day about theese players.
Have a great evening! :-) {Ed002's Note - Great job man.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Reach for the razor blades? Good lord some fans. Should learn not to judge a player before you see him play, every player has to start somewhere, can't sign every Barca and Bayern academy product you know.

Agree1 Disagree1

Thanks for that, saves me reading a lot of bs

Agree0 Disagree1

Nice summary, good work.

Agree0 Disagree1

Rooney?
Hazard?
Mata?

Agree0 Disagree1

To the last poster.

Hazard, rooney, mata and so on because people acctually ask about them.
Strangely enough thou I agree but since people do hassel the eds about them I thought I should also includ them in the summary.

Agree1 Disagree1

Wouldn't be much of a transfer rumours site would it if we sat around waiting for deals to be confirmed. We are allowed to post for a reason and ask questions for a reason. That's what the site is for. If you don't like reading peoples questions maybe you shouldn't come looking on the 'Liverpool transfer rumours page' and move along to 'Liverpool fc confirmed deals page' Get a grip and stop being a brown noser.

Agree3 Disagree1

Absolutely superb roundup sir

Agree1 Disagree1

Just reading this summary is very nice.

however, the summary hammers home the point that the next 3-5 years (optimistically) will be quite painful for all LFC fans.

In truth, I think at some point, people will have to reconcile themselves to the fact that we are now a mid-table team. 5th-9th in the league from now till the eyes can see.

Sorry to be a such a downing.

Agree1 Disagree1

For those fearing a depressing next few years I say look at how much better the club are after getting at closing down the leaks. How far before we made a move for Assaidi last year had he been on this or any other site, not even mentioned I'd say. This year the HM rumours came all of a sudden, we had never been linked (as far as I can remember) and then all of a sudden we were extremely interested and looking to do a deal.

There will be other players who haven't been asked or who aren't in the list and the club might want to go and get them. Great to get info from this site but not everything can be known in advance

Superb Ed002 this is what this page needs weekly in transfer months gutted about messi not coming though :-) percy {Ed002's Note - Someone else collated it.}

Agree0 Disagree1

This is truly disappointing that we don't seem interested in any defenders. Agger and Skrtel were no where near good enough. Agger played 35 games yes, i'd say he played about 10 of those games to a decent standard and skrtel was such a dip in form from last year, regardless of who we buy in net, wingers, strikers, attacking midfield, we are still going to struggle this season due to quite frankly a terrible defense. Johnson gets caught napping up the field, jose enrique is ok, just chooses some god awful passes sometimes, if Lucas gets injured we will struggle.

With our style of play last season especially towards the end, our new additions plus those to come, I think we will do quite well this season, with no euro games added. I also think LS will stay, as Real M won't offer what he is worth, they will try and get him on the cheap, like Owen, Macca etc.

Give BR a chance, he knows what he's doing. We need to get 4th spot or higher to attract bigger fish, until then let's wait and see.

I totally agree with Sean Ireland poster. We haven't even seen our new guys play yet and we are already dropping to our knees and hoping some miracle will happen when you never know, in alberto and aspas, we may have just signed super strikers with wonder pants on! BR is shrewd and knows how to lift the younger players spirits up. Sturridge and coutinho lifted the team with their will to improve and played good football too. I think if Suarez did go, then the team would be fine, other players might actually come out their shells! Have faith, we r reds, pure reds! Ynwa

Agree0 Disagree1

Agree0 Disagree1

Great recap but it is all very depressing. The top 5 are constantly moving further and further out of reach and we are struggling to compete with mid table teams. The only players we can buy at the moment are youngsters with potential, reserve players or championship standard players that nobody had heard of. Mid table again this season makes you understand why the likes of Suarez wants to go

Agree0 Disagree1

Every player bar one (Rooney) in this list not British just proves how poor our footballers rearly are and how limited our national team is.

Agree0 Disagree1

In short. No world class players want to play for a small mid table premiership side.

Hi eds. I've just been browsing on the Liverpool website, and saw a rumour about a possible return to Anfield for Alonso. Do you see any truth in this? It seems possible considering Isco has been lined up as a potential usurper to him. Would there be a possibility for a part player swap with Suarez if they confirmed their interest in him? I would love to see Alonso and Stevie G partnered in midfield again! Cheers, Jake {Ed002's Note - Maybe at best I would think.}

Believable24 Unbelievable17

Liverpool have rejected a £30M bid from Arsenal for Suarez and no doubt we will be rejecting more bids from clubs for him, and if reports are to be believed Liverpool want the same fee as when we sold Torres so that means Real Madrid would have to pay £40M plus Alonso but will they go that high for Suarez remains to be seen .

Agree2 Disagree1

Are Chelsea a possible move he could make?

Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree1

I think football fans always have this dream that their old stars can return and be just as good as they were at their peak, but it seldom happens that way.

Alonso is a great player and seems like a great guy, but the fact is he is too old to be anything other than a temporary answer to LFCs midfield needs, for the next two seasons at most.

If we are building for the long term, wouldn't we be better trying to get in the next young Alonso, rather than taking back the old one?
If Real are ready to sell, it will be because they think he is past his peak and is about to decline, and I'm not sure that's where LFC should be looking for the future.

Surely there are some really talented and committed young mf's out there we could look at such as Jorginho, who could do also a very good job but will be part of a stable squad for the longer term?

TC

Agree2 Disagree2

TC I agree with your sentiment just not necessarily in this case. Alonso was a vital part of madrid's midfield last year and still gets into the best international side in the world. LFC is simply not able to attract quality like that in their prime until we get CL, but we need more quality to get into the UCL. Also Alonso never relied on athleticism more so his positioning and passing ability which age better than other traits. The only reason I would't sign him is because he plays in the same role as Gerrard and I don't think Stevie can play the tip of the triangle anymore.

Hello Eds,
have a few questions
1. Is it true LFC have accepted a bid from Blackburn for Spearing?
Then only Coates, Flanagan, Assaidi, Skrtel/Downing and Pacheco need moving.

2. Is it true we have bid for Jorginho?

3. Could Georginio Wignaldum be an option instead of Mkhi as they are quite similar and he would be available for around 10-15 million. {Ed002's Note - (a) I understand they have. (b) I have no confirmation of a bid but am aware of the speculation. (c) Napoli, Swansea, Spurs, Lille and Benfica have shown interest in Wijnaldum over the past 6 months or so but Napoli are keen to strike a deal. PSV will not be keen to sell and he could be very expensive.}

Believable11 Unbelievable3

Downing will stay

Agree0 Disagree1

Sorry mate, but Downing is staying because he played brilliantly last season, Skrtel should be staying because BR told him that he's part of his plans, and I think Flanagan will only be going on loan somewhere for experience

Morning Eds and Fellow Reds! Not posted in a while- Been to the US and got Engaged!- didn't get any news whilst I was over there, so I come back and see we've signed a new keeper. I'm a big fan of Mignolet, and whilst I think that having competition is important I just can't see Reina being happy to stay if he isn't a guaranteed starter.

Apart from Barcelona's alleged interest, which clubs may be interested in a goalkeeper of his stature? Are atletico still looking at him or have they managed to bag Courtois for another year?

Great job on the site Eds, loving the changes to the search function! {Ed002's Note - Napoli and Barcelona remain the most likely destinations for Pepe right now. Courtois will be staying at AM this coming season.}

Believable5 Unbelievable7

Ed I may be wrong but read somewhere Napoli are close to completing a move for Brazilian GK Rafael for 5 million. {Ed002's Note - That is perfectly correct. They are also looking to either Pepe or Julio Cesar as well.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Congrats on the engagement! I guess that means watching less football in the future!

Agree1 Disagree0

Are Chelsea happy to keep loaning out Courtois until they feel that he is capable of replacing Cech? It seems like they are in the fortunate position of having two top goalkeepers and Courtois is developing well while on loan at AM. {Ed002's Note - This is the last loan season.}

Fisrt ever post ( been a follower for ages)

What is going on with Suarez now?
All over the news this morning that Arsenal have had a bid of £30m rejected. are we asking for more or. are we really going down the route of selling to our rivals?
If Suarez wants to go then at least sell him abroad!

If he does eventually go for £40m plus, who are our REALISTIC replacement targets?

Thanks
keep up the great work {Ed002's Note - Arsenal made an offer to Liverpool for Suarez. I cannot answer whether or not Suarez would be interested in a move should Arsenal increase that offer to a level where Liverpool would accept it. They are in the Champions League but I would doubt that they would be his ideal choice of club. The driving factor for Arsenal is what happens with Higuain.}

Believable4 Unbelievable7

Arsenal will not pay 50-60m for one player! In my opinion they are right not too. However on another point sometimes I feel Arsenal bid or get linked with these players knowing the offer will be rejected just to please the fans.

Agree1 Disagree0

It's clearly a bluff by both clubs.

Arsenal bidding for Suarez sends two messages to Real Madrid:

1 - Arsenal have other options other than Higuain.

2 - Liverpool won't even negotiate with a bid of £30M.

The Arsenal bid was leaked by Liverpool, they're trying to start a market for Suarez. {Ed002's Note - Rubbish.}

Agree0 Disagree1

We'll see.

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez is gone mate. He wants out but wants his share of the transfer fee. Liverpool have told him to get it off who ever signs him. This is what I've been told. Basically Suarez is going to have to put in a transfer request to get sold which I think he will do eventually. Where he goes, who knows, I don't think LFC care where he goes but they do care about how much he goes for, £40 - £50 mil would be my guess.

Agree1 Disagree0

Cheers
So frustrating being a fan when you see mercenaries using the club like Suarez is now, destroying all the status he earned

Still wondering who the realistic options are though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Am I missing something? Suarez is using the club 'right now'?

It feels like he hasn't given an interview for 2 weeks or so. Interviews for the media to translate as they deem best for winding LFC fans up.

So now we have a rumour of an Arsenal bid and it's Suarez's fault; always his fault. I don't follow your logic.

Agree1 Disagree0

Cant believe Suarez would want to stay in the EPL if his reason for leaving LFC was that he was peed off with the media because he will be in the same position but with another EPL team. He would have been better thought of if he just said he wants champions league football.
Anyway we surely don't need to strengthen one of or rivals for a champions league position and the bid is about £10 million short of what we want.

Hey eds, is Illori looking nailed on to sign for Chelsea now? If so would be very disappointing given we've been courting him for months and had 2 bids rejected - what is the latest in this particular transfer saga? If Liverpool fail to sign him are there any more young centre backs out there that Liverpool may turn there interest toward? Perhaps that German Pezella would become of interest to Liverpool again? Cheers

p.s. I did use the search function to search for Illori but the latest article to show up was from July 4th and Chelsea's seeming capture of him has only been known within the past 24 hours or so. {Ed002's Note - Ilori is not "nailed on" to join Chelsea. Liverpool's valuation of the player is a lot less than Sporting's valuation. If they wish to buy him, then they know what to do.}

Believable4 Unbelievable3

They know what to do, but they won't, we are after cheaper buys this summer, there will no large transfers.

Canf

Agree0 Disagree1

On the plus side at least we aren't spending more than we feel comfortable doing. The amount of mediocre players we signed previously for enormous sums will hopefully be a thing of the past. Although it does remain to be seen as the touted (BBC) £6.8m on luis alberto seems fairly large for a player who hasn't proved himself in a top league yet (as in La Primera Liga). But that remains to be seen, although I am optimistic about Aspas.

Spearing will sign for Wigan or Blackburn this week. Both clubs have agreed to meet 1.5million (approx.) fee apparently.

Believable25 Unbelievable3

Can't help thinking that's too cheap, should be at least £3 million, are we so desperate? sell cheap, buy expensive!

Eds two questions. 1: given that we have seemingly lost out on signing MK do you harvest any hope of us signing Honda or Eriksen now? Both players would add something to the team and the prices being thrown around for them seem far more reasonable than MK. 2: Has interest in Alderwield completely disappeared? It just seems that no big clubs are in for him and Norwich are now having a go. Given the lack of bids for him from big clubs I think he'd get on the first plane to join us and that the fee wouldn't be excessive. I just seems to me that it would be good business? Any chance there? Do you agree with these observations?

Aussie Geoff {Ed002's Note - Liverpool has not shown any recent interest in Honda and he is close to a move to Milan. ERiksen looks unlikely still. I expected Alderweireld to go to Spurs to replace Gallas or Roma to replace Marquinhos and I would not discount either club showing an interest in him still. Liverpool decided the asking price was too high, but it is certainly less than that being asked for Papadopoulos. It looked likely that a move to Bayer Leverkusen would go ahead but they too see him as over priced. Maybe Liverpool will look to him again if Skrtel or Agger move on. Norwich have made an enquiry with Ajax and Arsenal may well show some interest if he is still available later in the summer.}

Thanks for the facts Ed002. Really appreciate the work you do on the site. I'd be keen to read your opinion on these players and whether you think they would be a good fit for Liverpool. Or in fact which players you think are realistic chances for signing for Liverpool that you think would improve the team.

Aussie Geoff {Ed002's Note - I try to avoid commenting on whether or not teh players are any good or not. I would expect that a deal can stil be done for Ilori and I think anything else will be down to who departs.}

Have arsenal had a bid rejected for Suarez?. Also I read psg has signed cavani if this true what does this mean for Suarez and Real Madrid. Was cavani not there main target? {Ed002's Note - Real Madrid had let go of interest in Cavani for all practical purposes.}

Being reported that LFC rejected a 30m bid from Arsenal for Suarez.
Also that Chelsea look to beat LFC to the signature of Sporting Lisbon CB Tiago Ilori.
I think Arsenal's bid is low if true. It looked as though we were close on Ilori. Hope there is still a chance.
Your take on this Eds?
Zari {Ed002's Note - There was certainly an offer from Arsenal.}

but did he not say he wanted out of english football.Tommy irish Red {Ed002's Note - He has said lots of things Tommy. He told a Uruguayan radio show that he would not train with Liverpool again, but unless he is sold in the next two weeks then he will.}

Ed. Does that mean Arsenal wanted Suarez and Higuian? Was Suarez an alternative? You have to give them a bit if credit for showing serious ambition but that was a waste of there time to be honest. {Ed002's Note - Try the Arsenal page.}

I could be being a little pessimistic here, but I get the feeling Arsenal will continue to make derisory offers for the big players all summer. Something to keep the fans happy. To make them think Arsenal are trying to get the best players. I have doubts that they will get any of them including Higuain. It's almost like they are hoping other teams come in for Higuain before they have to commit cash to buying him. But we will see I guess. If Higuain is signed, then he will certainly be it in terms of strikers.

Arsenal are playing mind games with their own fans, who deserve better treatment than this. I will be surprised if Arsenal do sign more than one big name player this Summer, btw as a Liverpool fan I believe our club is showing similar signs of following this negative and deceptive attitude to transfer signings, its going to be a frustrating Summer for both sets of fans.

Has this stuff in The Times about us rejecting a £30mil bid from Arsenal for Suarez got any legs to it? Or is it just guff to fill up the papers? {Ed002's Note - I would not worry about Suarez moving to Arsenal.}
