Do you see Ince as the preferred summer target with Honda as a back-up if we don't get him. One ed said we might be looking for a winger. I am wondering if we could get both Honda and Ince if downing and others leave or either way would we only buy one of them? Thanks eds {Ed002's Note - I suspect interest in Ince remains. Liverpool has looked to loan wingers. Honda has been of interest back in the day. We will see.}

09 Mar 2013 00:11:01
Having seen how our season has progressed I'd prefer Ince over Honda. Buck has a way of getting these youngsters to fire and it's going to be far more cost effective to have 4/5 attacking wide players between 19-24 than assuming Honda could hold down the position and perform all year.

Hi ed's, just curious if you know of any interest in Ignacio Camacho of Malaga? seems solid as a rock in midfield, could be good competition for Lucas, which personally I think we really need. Nothing on him in the search function.

Thanks {Ed002's Note - Not from Liverpool.}

Do Liverpool show a solid/justified interest in Mohammed Diame. For me and a lot of others he is the midfield enforcer we so desire, sitting in front of the back four. he's worth around 3. 5, a huge steal! If not, are there any other options that fit the bill? xx Love the site xx

09 Mar 2013 00:18:56
If 700,000 of us throw in a fiver, we can pay he's transfer fee, what do ya say lads

There is a lot of misinformation regarding the 'release clause' in Mo Diame's contract - it is not 3.5 million, it is in excess of double that. Whilst personally I am a fan of the player, I think it's important for us as fans to understand why we haven't moved for the player as yet.
The Doctor46

Diame's passing isn't anything special, he doesn't score many goals, he isn't a slick mover on or off the ball. Basically he is a big, strong player and that's it. Why would we want someone like that at our club? Once again the fallacy of us needing a "physical presence" rears its ugly head.

SMc

When it comes to "steal", I believe we missed out on a big one in Mouse's Sissoko!. He could have been our version of Yaya Toure and for the price Newcastle paid, he looks a far better player than Diame!.

Couldn't agree more mate. The last time we played West Ham he was running the show and we only got back into the game after he was taken of injured. A monster of a player. Even at 7m he is a bargain.

Hi Eds

With diego lopez getting more games now and iker casillas not getting a start, is there any chance he will be going somewhere to get regular first team football?

Bullard21 {Ed001's Note - it will depend on the new manager, but there is a very good chance Casillas will be going as things stand.}

Where is casillas going to ed?tanx

majestic69 {Ed001's Note - I have no idea sorry. A lot will depend on who takes over from Mourinho.}

As if casillas would leave Madrid he's a legend an will retire there.

Hi do you have any news on Kevin Strootman coming to Liverpool thanks

08 Mar 2013 18:37:09
Hi ed's what's the most likely outcome with regards to andy Carroll, will he end up back at Newcastle for a reduced fee, or will Liverpool try to engineer some kind of swap deal involving one of there players. {Ed001's Note - the likely outcome is that we let him go, to whoever will have him.}

08 Mar 2013 15:08:38
Hi ed's noticed that mike jeffries has said fsg are definitely selling suarez in the summer, he basically accusses them of having no ambition. What's his problem with the owners, and how reliable is his information. {Ed002's Note - Try the search function for "Jeffries". I have no interest in discussing the reliability for folks on Twitter.}

It's about as reliable as everyone's opinion on here.

He's obviously a blert though.

He's another one who should shut his mouth and worry about things at the end of the season.

DaveyBootle

Isn't sacking kk for younger unproven manager, now that's ambition!

Actually there are those of us who think that replacing Kenny with Brendan Rogers was a very good indication that they are not only ambitious but will go about their ambition without endangering the club like the previous owners. Kenny is a legend, and deservedly so, but he's not the future of the club.

And Brendan rogers is the future of Liverpool then is he?
I think reading thought that 3 years ago.

BR is the long term future, get behind him and the team.

Hi ed's how did Daniel carr get on with his trial, and are we likely to sign him. {Ed002's Note - I have absolutely no idea, sorry.}

He's playing in the U21 game on monday

GuvTOB

I heard he had a great trial and the staff are really impressed with his pace skill power and finishing!

Liking the rumours of us signing christian eriksen. Some people think we've got no chance, I disagree. it's clear to see we have a bright young manager at the helm of an exciting project. We're playing really good football, and we are definitely improving. Add to the fact that that he's played with suarez at ajax, and plays with agger for Denmark, might just convince him to Anfield. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester City, Roma, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Spurs, Inter and AC Milan have shown some level of interest in Eriksen in the past year or so. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan and Spurs remain the most interested clubs. I would not rule out Bayern Munich, Manchester City or other previously interested clubs regaining interest in him - although I would say that it is unlikely that Inter or Chelsea would be interested. Back in July the Milan Press Office were convinced of interest from Manchester United and they have let it be known that they expected a bid to be made by for Eriksen. Expect Milan and Roma to press if a bid is made by Manchester United and I remain in agreement with them that there is every chance of that happening. The player remains adament that he will stay in Amsterdam for18 more months before moving to Spain but would likely jump at the chance of a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona if the opportunity arises. However, Ajax will not let him run down his contract so a move beckons in the summer. The player will see out the rest of the season at Ajax and see if he can attract attention from Spain.}

He went be going to Liverpool!
More like the team were playing sunday

Dat would be a dream a player man. I tink if we sign the right players in the summer why can't we challenge 4 the league

Good Afternoon Guys, you have probably answered this Already today but would appreciate an Answer, Mamadou Sakho, Would he be available come summer? and what price are we likely looking at? and do you guys no of any Interest from us at all? cheers for the Response in Advance, Have a good Weekend. :)
concon {Ed002's Note - Arsenal and Lyon have sustained interest in Sakho and there is growing interest from Newcastle, Inter Milan, Manchester City and possible interest lingering interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona. PSG are not keen on selling but I think there is a good chance of a summer move as we move toward some significant changes at a number of clubs.}

08 Mar 2013 12:44:38
Eds could Michael Essien be our midfield beast? I know he must be getting on abit and on huge wages but I think he'd do a great job for us & he's available. Just a though {Ed002's Note - No interest has been shown in him and suspect his past injury issues and wages would be enough to ensure that Liverpool will not be approaching Chelsea about him.}

Song has not settled in barcelona! Any chance? {Ed002's Note - No idea.}

Put it this way mate - If Lampard goes, Chelsea will have one recognisable first team player in that position. If he could still do that job reliably on a regular basis, he wouldn't be allowed to move on

Has been a awsome player though

No doubt, but injuries have destroyed his career - too fragile for a man of his size

LFC have been heavily scouting central defenders of late with rumoured exit of Coates and Skrtel as well as the confirmed retirement of Jamie Carrager by the end of this season.

Now Carrager has confirmed that LFC would be signing central defenders to replace him when he's gone.

"I could play on for another season but the fact is the club will be buying players in my position in the summer and I can't go back to being a substitute again, " he said.

So far, we have been linked with Zambrano, De Vrij, Lovren andu Sakho, who are all good centre backs. Do the eds think we would sign more than two CB, assuming Skrtel were to leave as well.

I would take Lovren and Sakho from that group as I haven't seen much of De Vrij.

Again, can we realistically sign Heung Min Son and Kesuke Honda and how much do you tthink these two would cost. These two would be okay to replace Downing Carrol and would be on lower wages as well.

If Henderson were to return to Sunderland and we get Mignolet, would we be signing another CM to replace Hendo.

Finally, is Erikson a realistic target or just a wishful thinking.

Thank you EDs and sorry for bodering please. {Ed002's Note - Not more than two CBs. Try the search function for Eriksen, Min and Honda. I have no idea about replacing Henderson.}

After Gerrard, I think Henderson has looked our best central midfielder this season.

I think it would be a big mistake if we were to let him go.

DK

Do you think we could buy more than two if Skrtel and Coates were both to leave as well as Carra? {Ed002's Note - Why not give the likes of Kelly, Wilson, Coady a chance?}

Wilson? hasn't he gone and out of contract in summer?

I would imagine ED002 meant to say Wisdom not Wilson.

Wilson's contract will be out by the summer and he's clearly not going to get another. but we do have enough buying 2 to replace 3 as Kelly, Wisdom and younger again to come through such as Sama if we were decimated with injuries

Why the hell do you want to get rid of Henderson? PJRED

I tend to agree. 2 to replace Skrtyl and Carra.

Coates replacement is already on the booked. Kelly and Wisdom. (Kelly is future Captain imo)

Perhaps another RB. Not convinced that Flanno will makes it at the level we're aspiring too tbh.

Henderson is class. Allan will come good too. (Young player can struggle the first year (aka Henderson last year. )

Rumours of Dzeko leaving for 17. 5 Million pounds. He is joint top scorer ( 13 goals) for Man City with most of games starting from bench. I have advocated earlier also, I think he could be a pain in arse for any defender. His touch, vision, skills are excellent and not to mention header ability. He is very under rated!

Wages are the major issue and that's why I think we will not pursue him but if we could, I will welcome him with red carpet!

Indian with Red Heart {Ed002's Note - He will almost certainly be going to Germany - and possibly with a contribution being made to his wages if a deal for another player can be agreed with Dortmund.}

He's really just a slightly-better-technically Andy Carroll.

I can't see Rodgers going for that type of player.

Good in the right team though.

Purely out of interest, what can you see happening with the Dortmund team? If their key players like Hummels, Goetze and Lewandowski start to leave, would less profile but highly able players like Bender and Subotic be more willing to consider their options {Ed002's Note - Players tend not to behave in that way. Players come and go all of the time. As for the Dortmund team, they have identified a couple of players they want and have accepted Lewandowski will be going. They are fighting to hold on to Reus.}

Ed002, who's the Dortmund player that Man City want? {Ed002's Note - Reus.}

"He's really just a slightly-better-technically Andy Carroll"

Oh dear, no wonder you left no name.

HBadger

I'm curious what you think leaving a name would have achieved, HBadger?

We're on the internet - people here are free to make up whatever name for themselves they choose. A signed post means nothing.

And signed or not, my post was simply my opinion. Feel free to disagree with me, of course, but perhaps next time explain why you disagree, rather than talking about irrevelant things.

CowboyMonkey123

OK CM123, because Dzeko is a good all round player, good touch, decent technically and a prolific goalscorer. Andy Carroll is none of those things, I honestly thought that would be obvious if you've seen them both play?

HBadger

Fair enough. :)

I think Carroll is better than he's given credit for though. He just needs to stay fit and play in a team looking to put crosses into the box.

I watch a fair few City games on telly as I have quite a few friends who are fans, and whilst Dzeko is generally a good player, he has his frustrating moments too.

All that said, I still don't think he's the type of player BR would fancy.

CowboyMonkey123

Fair play CowboyMonkey, sorry if my original post was blunt but I read yours as a bit flippant, mistakenly :)

I actually think Dzeko is a talent (like a good version of Bendtner) and I can see him doing really well back in Germany if it is correct that he will replace Lewandowski at Dortmund.

Hey eds, just wondering if Liverpool will go in for Gameiro on a permanent basis? Where does he currently stand with psg? {Ed002's Note - There has been long term interest in PSG's Kevin Gameiro from Lille and Dortmund although Dortmund have their attentions elsewhere now; Everton and Kuban Krasnodar have also shown interest in the player but Everton could only likely fund a loan. A move away from PSG in the summer seems very likely given that he wants out of the club and PSG do not see him as good enough for them and want him gone.}

Hi Ed002,
what`s the chance Liverpool will convince Eriksen or any other young gifted player to sign a contract when he can go to Spurs or City? I don`t think Liverpool is able to pay players just as much as clubs fighting for CL spot next season. all the best to all eds. Let`s hope we`ll win on Sunday. It`d be a great boost. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester City, Roma, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Spurs, Inter and AC Milan have shown some level of interest in Eriksen in the past year or so. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan and Spurs remain the most interested clubs. I would not rule out Bayern Munich, Manchester City or other previously interested clubs regaining interest in him - although I would say that it is unlikely that Inter or Chelsea would be interested. all this talk of no cl is doing my head in you would think we got relegated r something, its plain to see r club has as much ambition as spurs. we maybe don't have the money to match chelsea utd city but with a few sensible additions in the right areas imo we will push for cl next year, i'm sure a lot of talented players would love the chance to play for the most successful club in england. if you look at some of spurs best signings they all came when they were outa top 4 r pushed outa cl by chelski moody, bale, lennon, vertogen, dembele.

Levy, the players and coaching staff at spurs wanted eriksen! The player himself told vertonghan he wanted to join spurs! Avb stood alone, he wanted moutinho! Which maybe the reason the deal was not completed in jan? We expect levy will get his way in the summer and eriksen will sign for spurs?

Looking at what Suarez is getting paid on this new performance related deal, all contracts are going this way. so we can compete. Man Citeh will have to look at wage structure for the FFP rules.

This aside, Erikson will have glowing reports from Agger (National team) and Suarez (ex-team mate) on the system LFC are trying to put in place, a system which suits gifted players.

He'll also be able to see the age of players who play regular 1st team football.

Spurs are becoming dangerous the subs are good I wond want erikson to join them

hye eds,
may I know if the interest in zambrano is genuine?or is it just another newspaper rumours?do you think he is good? and how much is he going to cost us?
thanks eds, great site. {Ed002's Note - I am not so sure interest would be the right term but he is a player who has been looked at.}
