"{Ed002's Note - I suspect they will provide funding for a striker.}"

So, ed, there's no chance of a defensive midfielder then, like Wanyama? This is one area that concerns more most. Anyway, ed, just at the top of your head, what viable striking options will be available to us?

January is typically a less ideal time to do buy, what with selling clubs demanding extortinate fees as well. Our pockets aren't exactly swollen with cash. BR will likely get £12m/£13m-ish.

Ed002 did mention Lisandro Lopez during the summer. You still think he may be looked at?

BARNEY

{Ed002's Note - By then Lucas will be back so I doubt a defensive midfield player is a priority. I would not hold your breath about Wanyama moving to Liverpool in January. Lisandro Lopez continues to attract interest from Juventus and AC Milan, but at present Fiorentina remains the most likely to push for a deal in January.}

Ed any chance of doumbia in jan? {Ed002's Note - I doubt that there is any chance at all.}

Franco Di Santo January. (Watch him he's starting to look a real player)

This is a piss take ye? Chaps brutal.

Is it the same Di Santo at Wigan? Did you even check his stat? I know that he plays as a striker but his scoring record is that of a midfielder. If he cost

We need a proven goalscorer. Not (again) an average player.

Sorry Mr. Whelan not interested

Aim Higher ! we are desparate but not stupid

The king of deflected worldies........ No thanks!! Rather buy Dirk Kuyt back for £5mil than be lumbored with Di Santo

hey eds, it is clear as day that we need some attackers. I was hoping for some young guns, might be a bit ambitious but have liverpool showed any interest that you know of in schrulle of luverkusen (spelling). I know chelsea showed a lot of interest and apparently had some bids turned down but since then they bought about another 3 attackers so i'm assuming their interest has cooled.. I was thinking having Sami Hypia at the club may help (obviously we would have to match the price) but I think Germany is a great place to look, they have some great players in the bundasliga and somewhat cheaper than prem or la liga players. I think schrulle along with gotze, rues and kroos will be world beaters in a few years.. any thoughts or news?

Thanks heaps

Aussie Red {Ed002's Note - Bayer Leverkusen were willing to sell Schurrle during the early part of the transfer window if (a) the price was right, (b) if the player wished to leave, and (c) if a replacement could be found. But there was nothing acceptable on the table until very late in the transfer window and for now they are keen to keep him for the season. There has been interest from Chelsea for more than a year and they have had several bids turned down but will not be held to ransom. There is unsubstaniated interest from both Milan and Inter as well. As an aside, Chelsea did not buy any strikers in the summer, the money went on wide and or creative players like Hazard and Oscar. The likes of Drogba and Anelka have not been replaced and they are continuing to look for a striker.}

Stole my name haha, I'm the real Aussie red!

Cheers

Aussie red

Fair enough, thanks for the response. Well I hope they get falcao and perhaps we can convince him to join if there is any interest

Haha sorry mate! I was trying to think of a name to put down and thought it appropriate. I will try and think of something new

Who is interested to come to a struggling team let alone a mid table team. with the present setup and a fan base who still thinks the team needs time to gel under brendan rodgers and owners who prefer base ball. We are falling behind teams like spurs and even our neighbours. Even Stoke makes us look like a team struggling from relegation. We are nearer to teams at the bottom than the teams at the top. When will we realise that when you appoint a mid table manager to replace KK we are heading the wrong direction. If we think by playing like Swansea we are going to improve there is no hope for this team. We should be competing the likes of mu,arsenal and chelsea. Instead the owners prefer the attractive football played by swansea. Please Brendan let LIverpool play like Liverpool and not Swansea. Brendan is simply not big enough to handle Liverpool. He may just do well for mid table teams or championship teams.

Your a fool mate, I notice you don't mention KK as a second rate manager.. he is the reason we are in this mess with his transfer buys he has put the club back years

Heard last night from a friend David Villa on loan is looking a done deal.

No Name left again ...

He is 29 and on way above what we will pay so its defiantly a no brainier

BigD

Two things determine whether Villa will come.

1. Wage, not age.
2. Villa's willingness to leave Spain.

To be honest, he said that he never wanted to play for a club outside of his home country spain, so i really dont think he will be offloaded to us, especially when we cant offer champions league football

How many more times is this one gonna be dragged up? Not now, not ever. No guarantees he'll settle and cut it in england and if he did take time to settle then he'd probably be about ready to retire by the time he had anyway!

Where to? Spurs?

Not a good friend then if he will blatantly lie to you.
