Any chance of Aubemeyang (st ettiene)? Ed002 has French connections... {Ed002's Note - After a year at St Etienne Aubameyang has attracted the attention of Manchester City, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Spurs and PSG, probably amongst others. He has said in the past the one day his dream would be to return to play with a great Milan side. I don't see him leaving the Geoffroy-Guichard in January.}

Do you have that on your copy&paste? haha that's like the thousandth time I've seen that name...

Hello Eds. Just wandering if any clubs are interested or have been interested in Roma's Eric Lamela. Your info is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ghandi Floss {Ed002's Note - He has horribly complex ownership issues and would need a work permit - that will perhaps not be as easy to get as some imagine. One English club were interested but stepped away because of these complexities. If he was a target for the summer it would make more sense, and Manchester United have taken a recent look at him.}

hi eds, are we interested in Wilfred Bony, i think it would be alot better in buying him instead of Sturidge ? {Ed002's Note - Wilfried Bony was of interest to Newcastle over the summer and has been a player Chelsea have been considering for a while. Right now there is varying degrees of interest from Aston Villa, QPR, Liverpool, Everton and a couple of German sides (Hamburg and Schalke) but I doubt he will move to either. It would not be a surprise to see interest from other teams, possibly Napoli and Roma, but that is all there is at this time. The player has said he would like to join Chelsea but anymove in January is by no means certain.}

Hi ed,
Was just wondering would Barcelona be open to offers for any of the following players:
Sanchez
Villa
Tello
Plus are lfc interested in any of these.

Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Certainly Tello has been of interest. However, I understand that he has an offer on the table which assures him that he will not be left in the B squad. That may be enough for him to sign.}

What about Villa Ed? Ive heard there are underlying reasons at the club which is the reason he is not playing, and now with Thiago ahead of him aswell as others, would he not be looking to get some game time elsewhere come January?

Cheers, Strabs {Ed002's Note - They would be happy to sell Villa.}

They would be happy to sell villa but he refuse to leave Spain. :D

I agree , we've have been pursuing bits of interest in Christian Tello and David Villa , however Ian Ayre will need to up his game for Rodgers not to give him the sack after the summer transfer window . Alexis Sanchez is a quality player so it's likely Sterling will be dropped.

I am from Belgrade,and here i heard information(close to the club Red Star) that we will sign Darko Lazovic from Red Star) for price about 3.5m e,this deal is almost done.. 100%

Hope so he is a very good young player

09 Dec 2012 21:42:33
Ain't it a bit to soon for him ?
Da mu nije rano brate ?

Would be a good signing and typical of LFC to find someone who looks good value for money. 22 years old so still young enough to learn but old enough to look after himself.
Hope this is right.

It seems people have come to a misunderstanding. Llorentes contract expires on 30th June. That means we can sign him on a pre-contract on January 1st. So please can people stop suggesting we would pay £20M for him.

He's probably going to arsenal

Great but if we want him in jan we would need to pay up 20m u person!

The only misunderstanding is that we're even in the running to sign Llorente.

MarkB.

Hey eds, say we get Sturbridge in jan.. Do you think it would still be a possibility to get Walcott as well or in the summer, or will we only try and sign one of these? Cheers {Ed002's Note - I don't think it is necessarily one or the other but my opinion remains that Walcott is a less likely signing.}

Thanks for the reply :)

There saying that sturridge is a done deal well i hope not there no way he is going to get us 20 goals season and 14mil well that just to much we could get a lot better then him for 14mil that for sure

I live in Madrid and there has been a rumour Liverpool have looked at two maybe three players from the less fashionable sides. I watch la liga a lot and the three names mentioned would be good signings.

1.Iago Aspas (Celta Vigo)- Can play the loan forward a bit like Torres. He is young and fast and can play on the last defenders shoulder. However, he is good at also bringing in the other players in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 formation.

2. Patrick Ebert (Real Valladolid)- Good passer, great crosser and very direct. Has a hard shot like a lot of Germans. Runs forever and helps the right back a huge amount. would easily fit into the right side of the midfield 3.

3. Oscar (Real valladolid)- He plays just behind the front striker. Good support and a good passer. would be a natural replacement for Steven Gerrard especially if using Lucas and Joe allen behind.

Orrin

That's more like it, these are the rumours I like, believable ones, good work. Any of the eds heard of these players? Or know of any interest from us in them?

These players are no better than what we already have. Infact they aren't even good enough for a place on the bench.

Just for the record, Oscar is 30 years old, so how exactly is he going to be a natural replacement for Steven Gerrard?

Sorry Orrin, but you have just plucked these names out of thin air. Their is no truth to this rumour whatsoever, you are just telling porky pies.

This Iago Aspas guy has already scored a handful of goals this season for a newly promoted Celta Vigo side. He looks a good talent, and should attract interest. Don't know about our interest though. Eds please clarify.

Gogol {Ed002's Note - He certainly scored plenty of goals in the Spanish second tier. Swansea, Maritimo, Watford and Reading have all shown an interest in Celta Vigo's Iago Aspas over recent months. Swansea have carried over their summer interest and are pushing for a January move still. The player is by all accounts not for sale.}

The same oscar that is 30 years old

Instead of wasting millions of pounds on unproven, third-rate 30 year old Spanish players, why not give the likes of Ibe, Sinclair & Suso a bit of game time?

Suso yes but it is a bit to early for the other guys, excellent prospects though.

Looks like Pacheco is gonna be sold in January. No striker for game against West Ham and he hasnt even been included in the squad. Solid proof that he is gonna be sold.

I think LFC have been looking for a viable buyer for him for the last 12-18 months.

FowlerGod.

Don't think anyone wants him useless

He plays well in the ressies scored a cracker on Friday, he's far from useless as some clueless folk have said

Awful player, complete usless please get rid!

Maybe he will be sold, but your evidence is not proof the player will be sold. Who knows what the manager has in mind or if the player is carrying a slight injury.....

Sending him out on loan then see how he does, been cracking in the u21 league

He is certainly not a useless or awful player. He has shown great skill,pace and determination in the U21's but falls just short of what is needed in the first team.Would do a good turn for a Championship side or Spanish Segunda club.
CR

I like him to exciting prospect

Pacheco is quality. Needs a good Loan spell at a struggling Premier League/Top Championship side playing a good 20 games then see where we are

Hi Eds ,Any interest in Will Hughes at Derby from Liverpool ? cheers ant {Ed001's Note - yes, he has been watched for a while.}

When's borini going to be back from injury

This guy is something very very special he is more of a talent than zaha.

Eds any chance we could go for him in Jan ?
He is something special a bit like Wilshere.
Buy him now before he is too expensive and loan him back to Derby until summer. {Ed001's Note - highly unlikely to happen in Jan.}

ed is it true arsenal have agreed a deal of 4m to sign huntlar in january

sorry if this as already been asked

bigW {Ed002's Note - My understanding is that they have had an offer from Arsenal but there is no agreement.}

4M I somehow doubt it.

09 Dec 2012 11:34:44
I know I said that you were wrong about Juventus and Suarez ' counting ' edd2 and now Luis has said that there were talks but he is happy at Liverpool and he just reads the stories in the paper . My question is what did you mean about them ' counting ' . {Ed002's Note - I said "courting" not "counting".}

You ''typed'' the word ''Courting''. ;) {Ed002's Note - Noted.}

Heard yesterday that BR is pushing for Llorente as he believes there is a real chance of landing him if Fenway allow him the right funding. An offer of 25m is rumoured and this info has come from a staff member in administration at Anfield. Although they believe he would rather stay in Spain, there are no real offers on the table for him over there and BR thinks he would be open to a move to Liverpool. Walcott is also another real option and is preffered to Sturridge.

Chucky Egg

Llorente wicked but is there a chance of us getting
hugo Lloris {Ed002's Note - No.}

I can't see why Llorente would cost £25 million pounds or Euro's, not when he's openly declared he's leaving the club in the Summer.

I'd surprised if £15 million wasn't enough, i've heard Arsenal and Spurs are offering about £7 million for him.

Never will he cost £25 million. Bilbao will take money for him and plenty of teams will offer reasonable fee's and it will be more about what the player get's offered.

Llorente can walk in the Summer and i'd imagine there would be a string of clubs ready to offer him a massive signing on fee that he can walk to the bank and cash. I'd love him to partner Suarez and maybe Walcott or Sturridge as well, five players to fill three positions over a season. Makes sense.

Iv'e been saying all along BR's number 1 target is Llorente and also due to my conections with Fenway sports group, i can say the Liverpool fans will be over the moon with the January transfer deals to come... A little bird tells me 3 top players will arrive and the money is there!!

Brad

See you on the 1st Feb 2013 or will you be making yourself scarce like all the other self proclaimed ITKs?

10 Dec 2012 00:16:57
I will not be making myself scarce because I will be back on here saying I told you so.
Some of you people are a joke, and just because some people here real positive news you decide its not true because you dont have the brains to believe it !
Eds, can you or Macca shed any light on the Llorente news as I fully believe the source that told me this.

Chucky Egg {Ed002's Note - From my perspective Fernando Llorente is still interesting a number of clubs. Chelsea, and I suspect Manchester City, have dropped their interest and I would think that other clubs could be scared off by the size of the transfer fee still being asked by Athletic Bilbao. There is a very good chance that he will move next year and there has been plenty of discussion with Juventus over a January move althgough it looks like it will come to nothing. Interest from Arsenal, Spurs and now Atletico Madrid and Barcelona has been ramping up. It is likely that he will end up at one of these clubs but at a much lesser fee if he moves in January - and at the moment that seems less than likely. His alternatives will be to sign a new contract, sign a pre-contract in January for a summer move or to let his contract run down and go for a good sized signing on fee.}

I've seen three names "rumored" with Liverpool can you tell me is there any truth behind them
- Jese Rodriguez (Real Madrid)
- Shane Long (WBA)
- Gary Hooper (Celtic)

And is there the possibility of re-signing Xabi Alonso in January or the summer?

I'm going to pretend I'm Ed002 -

Please use the search function - all of these have been covered in detail numerous times. Alonso will not move to LFC this January.

I would like shane long and xabi alonso

I don't want Shane Long and no chance of Alonso.

Lmao that guy pretending to be Ed002, thats spot on exactly what he would of said lol

09 Dec 2012 12:44:51
Eds & Reds,

I've heard some worrying reports that we are interested in Samaras of Celtic, please tell me this is BS

Fowlers Nostril {Ed001's Note - no interest that I am aware of, we have been watching Celtic and papers are just guessing. Considering we are looking for a striker and he plays wide now, it would make little sense.}

09 Dec 2012 13:42:07
He is absolutely rotten !

He actually isn't a bad player he had a bad time at city because its well known pearce who was manager at the time bullied him use to shout abuse in his face if he had a bad game but lennon gets the best of him because he is a good manager unlike pearce,anyways he works his socks of and scores from the flanks he reminds me of kuyt but with pace,mark

Hi Eds! Just wondering. If we are to sign Sturridge, do you think that CFC will leave him out of their EL squad or will he be cup-tied? Would be a terrible mixup if he was signed up for CFC in the EL and then joins us. Waste. Cheers from Sweden! {Ed001's Note - the next round is not until February, so it can't happen.}

But the squads are to be announced soon I think, this was what happened to Suarez, right? Ajax went out of the CL and signed him up for their EL squad? {Ed001's Note - doesn't matter until they play.}

09 Dec 2012 09:18:37
Eds ,fellow reds , I know that Walcott and sturridge are only rumours at the moment ,but I am a little bit worried .because BR likes to play passing football and as good theo and Daniel are running with the ball and scoring there passing and crossing it terrible .they always play looking at there boots .so could this be another bad choice by the club . {Ed002's Note - It is a case of do you trust in the manager or not? Both players are forwards and forwards are needed - and there is certainly interest in Sturridge.}

Sturbridge is not good enough.

They would both be playing either cetrally or wide right,either way by the time the ball gets to them,they should be heading for goal at pace,not passing it off. The ticky tacky football shoul allow you to maintain possession and get into the final 3rd,then you attack th 18 yard box. Barcelona show this with sanchez,pedro and villa as the wide men.
Arsenal or the past 7 seasons showed the wrong way of doing it by still doing the style of play in the opponents 18 yard box.going for the perfect goal instead of just hitting it.

Do you know what Paisley told Rush when he was not scoring in the beginning of his liverpool career, and playing the Liverpool way of passing?

He told, 'you need to be a little selfish'.

Sturridge and Walcott can finish and would not be bad if they were selfish in their finishing as in our team, other Suarez, none can find the net easily.

There's been so much about Sturridge in the media that I checked out some youtube video of him, and in his City days he actually had a really good eye for a pass. His close control is also excellent, which BR will like

Red Ollie

09 Dec 2012 07:41:41
Hello Ed002,
is it possible you will give us names of players who you think might come to anfield next month? {Ed002's Note - I think Sturridge is a real option. I also understand that the interest in Jeffren is still there.}

Huntellar is the only player we are definately going after.

09 Dec 2012 02:18:03
Hi Ed's
Ive seen u reply to an Alonso rumer saying its not a done deal, yet! Am I missing something? Is Alonso actually a possibility? {Ed002's Note - I don't know which Ed this is aimed at. I would not expect Alonso to arrive in January.}

The original poster needs to re-read the reply from The ED. The, not a done deal yet, refered to Sturidge. The answer to Alonso was a straight NO!

He meant Ed052. His wording was slightly ambiguous hence why he thought Alonso was not a done deal (yet) when he was actually referring to Sturridge.

Ed's was talking about sturridge!

Hey eds thanks for the site. Just curious are any teams at all interested in fredy montero of the Seattle sounders? Seems like every season he has a great goal scoring record unless he's not as good as some think since he's playing in mls. Just curious to hear your opinion and if any team had inquired about him. Thanks

Mike {Ed002's Note - The MLS is certainly nothing like the level of the EPL and I would think Fredy Montero would struggle to get a work permit even if there was interest.}

09 Dec 2012 00:08:45
Hi Ed, Mirror Football reporting that BR will go for Michu if we failed to get Sturridge, have you heard any thing about this? {Ed002's Note - Sorry, no.}

Brendon Roders should have a better scouting system than Swansea (with respect). He should go out there and spot other Michu's or the like. Not wait and pay 20+M for a player someone else paid 2M for!!1
This window will show how 'extensive' BR's system is... {Ed001's Note - bit unfair that, he has only just joined and the scouting system will need to be overhauled. It will take at the very least a year to get that sorted, probably more.}

Well given the fact that Michu plays for Swansea then there is probably some truth to the story irrespective of what rag it was printed in. {Ed001's Note - except that he joined Swansea after Rodgers had taken charge of us and was brought to the club by Laudrup.}

Go for michu anyway, exactly what we need and I'm sure 10 mill would get him. I know it's a huge mark up but he is worth that.

Daniellambretta

Shall we go for williams, dyer,vorm et al as well?
The scouting system had a massive overhaul 3 years ago didn't it ed? we got a few scouts from barcelona, and brought in several youngsters from other good academies at high costs. eg pacheco,yesil,adorjan. {Ed001's Note - yes, for youngsters to play in the academy, not for the older players. Comolli took charge of that when he came in, so that needs to be redone.}

Michu was not scouted by swansea scouts but by laudrop he knows the spanish market very well having played and worked there for so long da guzman on loan was another fine piece of business and pablo hernandez for 5.5 mill another steal,mark

Sturridge and marin on loan is what im hearing!!

Nick from birmingham

How many more times do you need to be told, premier league rules only allow 2 players on loan at any time and we already have 1 sahin!! {Ed002's Note - I rather think Nick was saying buy Sturridge, and we already know an effort has been made, and then ask for Marin on loan.}

I would like to have marko marin
