Mourinho is being lined up as the next manager
It's going to happen is the word around the city
That Liverpool are working really hard too bring
Him to anfield,Greg ynwa

Don't want him thanks.

No, they're not

Ha! Yeah right...

MB*****

More likely - Redknap to England and Mourinho to Spurs.

Funny, not a word of that from where I've been - in Liverpool. Mourinho to Spurs and Redknapp to England is more likely. Can see Rafa getting the Madrid job as well.

We are a club with a steady, long term plan. Mourinho is an expensive short term fix manager so this is never going to happen....

Anyone looking for a new manager must have a short memory. Cast your mind back 18 months and think about what most of us were praying for.....

A challenge for top 4 (we are still right in the mix for this and historically are stronger in the 2nd half of the season)

A good cup run or 2 (achieved, with the added bonus of a trophy or 2)

For us to go back to playing attractive, pass and move football (build up play is a million times better, just a combination of poor finishing and man of the match goalkeepers have led to so many dropped home points)

A manager who is passionate about LFC and it's players...... (it's Dalglish, enough said)

So before we ask for a new manager, let's remember how we were getting on last time we asked for a new manager.......

Poulsen, konchesky first team regulars.

Hodgson being to scared to defend Torres when whiskey nose accused him of diving.

Liverpool setting out to get draws at home and there being genuine talk (from the manager) of us being in a relegation fight.

Regardless of what Dalglish has done for us in the 90s he deserves more time in the hotseat just based on the job he has done since taking over. We are coming back in a big way but it can't be achieved in 18 months. Give Dalglish and the squad he is building til the end of his contract. My reckoning is that no one will be mentioning Mourinho or anyone like that by then.

Merf

Well said Merf, all the LFC supporters hould get behind the club or f off and join man city.

King Kenny!!!

Great manager - but will never be anywhere more than a few years and thats not what we want or need.

Ed, Apparantly the Belgian Press has been reporting that we might be interested in Dieumerci Mbokani from Anderlecht. He failed at Monaco last year, but seems to have picked up a decent form again albeit in Belgium (no offence, I was born there). Have you heard anything that confirms this? The player is quick, powerful and a good in the air. I don't see him as first choice, but he could be decent cover.

Canadian Fan {Ed009's Note - I do not think he is good enough. If we want to push on to a title challenge next season, we should use many of the current first team players as the squad members, and invest only in what I would term as 'key players'. We have a solid squad already, hence why we are able to control many games, we just need those who will give us the extra impetus and impact.}

Higuain, texeira or luuk de jong.
Marko marin is the only winger that cones to mind
Granero or strootman
Lucas is back so no first team dm
And isla for rb and dm & winger cover

Four players around.....
25m euro
16m euro
8-12m euro
14m euro

I have never agreed so so much with an ed. Well said my friend!
Jayo

Spot on Ed009.

Ed009 is on the money. We need quality not quantity! And I'm sceptical that someone from the Belgian would be good enough to make an immediate impact!

Remember Jovanivic do you??

Cheers, Raoul

eds are liverpool interested in hoilett and if so could you see him choosing us over other clubs as he will be on a free on a summer? He will have a better chance of 1st team football here as we have no recognized rw.
{Ed009's Note - I think he is the sort of player we may look to bring in. Furthermore I can't see any other top club - aside from perhaps Arsenal or Tottenham - going in for him, due to no real need, so we would have a decent chance.}

Tottenham will have bale and hoilett wants playing time

Ed do think dalglish might be sacked at the end of the season if we are not in the champions league? {Ed009's Note - Its impossible to tell. Personally I wouldn't sack him, due to one full season being insufficient time to bring us back to the top, considering where we were before, but this is a business driven game, and the owners could perhaps see a younger, more modern-minded alternative as the better option.}

Are we going to base all decisons based on 1 season from now on ?

this season isnt over and kenny has proved theres life in the old dog, a couple of quality signings this summer and we can be at the top again.

"The special one" is the only manager that can get us top players "worldies" without us having champions league football. Fact whether you like him or not

The so called special one would not go to any club not in CL and would want to spend money which we would not be prepared to give. He has done his trade such as Porto without big transfer budget's and would feel his stock is so high he would not need to go back. MB*****

Who wants mourinho,,, hes made himself a laughing stock across europe since he went to madrid and his football style is s##t, we are playing good football now and just need a couple of players to get us to where we want to be

I hope very much we don't go for Mourinho. Crass self-promotion and boring football. Why do you think Real are happy to get rid?

hey ed,
do you think Seydou Doumbia would be a good signing?
Josh {Ed002's Note - He would be expensive but has been playing well.}

Would be a good signing.in good form and brings something different that we need at the club hope it happens

Hello. Do you think Downing will be sold in the summer? And what do you think he will go for?

Sincerely yours {Ed002's Note - I don't expect he will be sold this summer.}

ed's did the sow deal to fenerbache go through in the end? {Ed002's Note - It did.}

Is it true shaqiri has agreed to sign for bayern in the summer? If it is true we missed out on a great young talent {Ed002's Note - It is true.}

How have we missed out? We cannot sign every young player on the horizon. There are other clubs who are also interested in young talent. We haven't done too badly on that score lately. We think that Liverpool is the most attractive club to join but some others don't.
Dutchmal

May be we should have tried? Like for example Gala did and he rejectedbut we all know that they did and Liverpool havn't if not it would be well known, how quite Liverpool tries to keep it quite if we were serious Basel XS would make it public

Hopefully for 20112/13.

Goalkeeper: Surely one of Jones and Toni to move on in the summer & time to promote a youth keeper for 3rd choice cover.

Defence: If it's true G Johnson is set to leave in the summer also Aurillio must go. Then only a replacement of Maurica Isla to come in with enough cover across the back.

Midfield: Maxi's time seems to be up and possible Kuyt, then a world class 20m + right winger to come in.

Strikers: A world class goal scorer/poacher 20m + desperatly needed.

Spend: 60m.
Sell: 20m.

Goalkeepers. Reina, Jones/Toni, Youth.
Defence: Kelly, Flanagan, Enrique, Robinson, Isla, Agger, Skertal, Carragher, Coates, Isla.

Midfield: Henderson, 20m + R/winger, Gerrard, Adam, Lucas, Spearing, Downing, Bellamy.

Strikers: Suarez, Carrol, 20m + striker.

Possibly bring back J Cole and start introducing Sterling and Shelvey.

Is this too much to ask? not breaking the bank and no need for drastic changes.

Spot on. We don't need to net spend to be a ridiculous amount in order for us to improve. What is more important is the continued development of players like Hendo and Shelvey. We really need them to grow into that creative distributor role to help open up to pitch for teammates. An out-an-out winger is still a huge need though.

Mark

Think u mean doni mate

We don't need any defensive change. We need a winger who isn't afraid of beating his man - sterling and we need a central midfielder who can pass, tackle and score - shelvey so you was spot on there!

Sounds good to me.

We signed the 18 year old 'keeper from Wrexham and I thought we were in for Nordfeldt (22 year old free agent) who is also a 'keeper.

Basically we need to buy an excellent out-and-out winger and a goalmachine worth a total of around 50m.

Eds just wondering has glen johnson said he wants to leave at the end of the season or is it just speculation? {Ed009's Note - He hasn't said anything!}

Did we sign Luca Toni and covert him into a keeper? Must've missed that one.

I keep hearing rumors that Johnson is leaving. Where are these speculations starting from. Did he say he want's to leave? is there some sorta of concern with his contract? please reply eds.

JoeThunder {Ed016's Note - He signed a new contract last season, he is happy playing first team football}

For me Isla would be a good addition at 10-14 million. Especially considering all the positions he can cover.

In regards to a striker Soldado would be a good option. If not Soldado , Zarate or Lavezzi (at a very long shot). Would be my preferred choices.

For midfield there is so many talented youngsters out there including.

Sergio Canales.
Ibrahim Affelay.
Ever Banega.
Steven Defour.
Would all be great buys who have bags of talent.

Jonesred

Joe wont come back-thank goodness

Ed do you think that if we don't finish in the top 4 then kenny might be sacked? {Ed001's Note - no.}

Keny should go if no CL next year.

Used to the idea - CL football although an important thing and to be got if at all possible is not why Kenny was re-appointed. His primary role is stabilisation and foundation building and he is doing a 5 star job at that. RED LENIN

I think kk was hired on 2 yrs deal but i am sure its gonna be permanent because hes buliding the reserve team, the clubs got long term plan, hes gonna walk in the paths of bill shankly, in coming days we gonna have great players coming from the reserve and being a force again

Lads we hav to remember that its kennys first full year in charge and the players he brought in the summer are still integrating,also we havent been in a major final since 2006 and weve a great chance of winning the carling cup +a great chance to go all the way to wembly in the fa cup, also were in a much better place now than last year, remember old trafford last year berba hat trick, poulsen midfield and koncheisky left back? seriously cant see it happening this time.
fagan81

I'm not that confident about Saturday, apart from playing the mancs we have ref and lines men to contend with,and if we finish with eleven men I will be surprised !!!

Its a results game top 4 anything else is a failure even a mickey mouse cup

Kenny is doing a fine job.. Give him time, he will turn us into Champions again!!

The problem with hiring kenny in the first place is that their can be no contingency, as if he is doing a bad job people will still support and love him purely because he is kenny. But the bottom line is if we were in this position, had the home record we have and don't get CL with any other manager we would all be screaming for a new manager. Kenny was brought in to steady the ship but how do the board move on if we still struggling for CL next season ??

How can you say if we dont get CL next year he has to go? We SHOULD be in the europa league next season, i know its not the best comp, but its a start, its progress since he got here, we didnt even make that last season! He has got us to a domestic cup final for the first since 2006 and we are in the last 16 of the FA cup for the first time in a good few years too! What would you prefare, Kenny to JUST get into the champs league and not win domestic cups, but then for us not to have a strong enough squad to cope in the champs league, or for him to build up a squad slow and steady, do well in domestic cups, then in a season or 2 get back into the champs league and get to the knock out stages year in year out?

I see another person calling the Carling Cup a "Mickey Mouse" cup again. Remind me again, but isn't the whole point of football to win trophies? If you're in a competition then surely the aim is to win it? I'm more than happy with the job Kenny is doing after just over a year in charge.

Would you all be so happy of we were in this position under Roy Hodgson.... Probably not but as its Kenny some of our fans are again blinded by the ora around kenny, if hodgson failed to beat the likes of Swansea Norwich and Blackburn spent the amount of money that has been spent and signed the likes of downing for 20 million, and Carroll for 35 million we would be calling for his head, and none of this Carroll will come good rubbish, as admittedly he has looked a lot better in his last couple of game but he will never be a 35 million pound striker and should have never been signed for that amount of money 2-3 million more and you have sergio aguero

Some people need to get a grip. hes doing a rebuilding job. this season has seen the team playing some good stuff. give him at least 3 seasons before you start to judge him

I think it depends on the dreaded "fourth Champions League place". If we get it it, I am sure Kenny will be here next season. If we don't - it's going to be touch and go. The owners want results - that is clear from their Red Sox dealings.

shaqiri has agreed a move to bayern and will move at the start of next season. Eds is there still a chance of us hijacking the deal?
{Ed002's Note - None.}

Great, there gopes another talent we coudl have got he was only 10m aswell {Ed001's Note - good job he wasn't all that good really.}

LMAO @ hijacking the deal! Some LFC fans can be so delusional at times, it is hilarious. And i am a LFC fan.

Is this true ed's? has he agreed to sign them? {Ed002's Note - Yes.}

Bayern Munich have signed Switzerland forward Xherdan Shaqiri, 20, from FC Basel on a four-year contract commencing this summer.

"Xherdan will strengthen our team from next season with his football intelligence and dribbling", said Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes.

"I have been watching him for some time and I am convinced he can become an important player for the club."

That's one less rumour to answer ed's.

Eds wat are the chances of signing Xherdan Shaqiri from bayern in the summer
:P

Brilliant signing anyway it's for the wrong team

Wow! Bayern a looking very strong next season! I guess he'll replace Robben in the side! Kroos, Muller, Shaquiri behind Gomez.

Liverpool will regret about him in next year. all the team want British striker don't know what to do with ball. and pay £35m

The british 35M you are referring to is getting better with the ball with each game, though.
