hi eds, what are your thoughts on borini? and do you think he will stay for a long time or leave soon?

personally I rather like him.

thanks,

blaz {Ed002's Note - Unless he sees what the fans think of him on pages like this, I don't see any reason for him to be leaving just yet.}

09 Feb 2013 21:52:42
Nice one ED I agree on this one pretty much!

Just like every team ed except Liverpool have more fans {Ed002's Note - No, it is not like every team.}

Borini will come good. Kid will be a legend. He is my favorite player after the SG and LS. I hope he starts to thump them in.
Andrew

So you think other teams are exempt of opinionated/emotional fans? What about chelsea's supporters for instance? Can't really be having a go at Liverpool fans when you support a team like Chelsea {Ed002's Note - It has nothing to do with Chelsea. The point was about the abuse the Liverpool fans give the players. A month ago this page was full of comments about the money being wasted on Sturridge and how he wasn't good enough for Liverpool. Reina has consistently been at the end of the "get him out" brigade's comments. Allen, Henderson, Downing, Enrique have all suffered. The "he must be worth £40M" Sterling has become a target, Skrtel, not to mention that "donkey" Carroll and all of the "deadwood" as well. The LIverpool fans are by some distance the worst in respect of the club's players - as a percentile or any other way you wish to count it. I assume you are some sort of half-wit so we will let it go.}

Borini needs more time. He's just comeback from injury. IF Suarez leaves in summer expect to c a lot more from Borini

Borini will develope into world beater!

I don't think you guys are describing the same player I see playing for the reds. Borini at the moment is non event

Borini will leave in the summer. He has good movement but offers little else to be honest

Borini hasn't even had time yet, he hasn't even had much game time. Ed well said, not every LFC supporters abuse every little negative.

FowlerGod.

I must be watching a different player. He offers nothing at all. He's useless and a complete waste of money. Sorry when you pay that kind of money you need to hit the ground running and he's done nothing. Just an observation and my opinion.

Suazo

Ed002 is right every time a relatively low profile player is linked with us the old 'there not fit to wear the shirt' brigade come out. Borini is a kid who is been played out of position so far.

I think it's a little harsh to judge him on what we've seen so far, it's similar to when Lucas came from gremio every cretin under the sun was slating him even though he was made to play dm. Personally I still don't see him as a dm and would like to see him given a little more freedom but he's nailed that spot as his own and I see no reason why borini couldn't if given time.

his movement is fantastic if you actually watch him off the ball he makes very intelligent runs to draw defenders, he's got good pace and I hope he does well for us.

Fester

Think some of the comments on this post sum up aptly what the Ed was getting at. Borini has been injured for 4 months so is obviously still finding his feet at the club and within Rodgers system.

He hasn't scored much but, as he hasn't played much that is no surprise. He offers something different to both Suarez and Sturridge and his runs off the ball constantly open up space. We've bemoaned our lack of strength in depth before and now we actually have it up front people are harshly criticising Borini and saying he wants to leave. It's pathetic, who needs rival fans when you have your own readily available to berate your own players.

Lucas was slated for seasons and had ridiculous pressure placed upon his young shoulders - the way he was treated was nothing short of disgraceful. Henderson has had to endure similar treatment and now Borini is as well. The players need our support - and they certainly need more than 6 months (4 of those injured in Borini's case) to show their worth to the team.

Eds, have Liverpool shown any interest in Marco van Ginkel of Vitesse? I tried searching for info on the site but came up with nothing. {Ed002's Note - If Van Ginkel moves in the summer it will be to Twente, but he seems happy to stay where he is.}

10 Feb 2013 09:29:43
Van Ginkel? Awesome! But doubt it

09 Feb 2013 19:17:50
hey eds, where exactly is assaidi? and do you expect him and downing to stick around after even after coming summer?
RED INDIAN {Ed002's Note - Assaidi is a passenger in a Renault Clio at the moment. It is caught at traffic lights at the junction of Queensway and New Quay in Liverpool. I suspect one or both could leave in the summer.}

Downing is going nowhere!

Nice one eds

Classic ed002

Ed o2 you apsslooot leg end

11 Feb 2013 14:48:29
What is this about?! I'm a big fan of Ed2, but it doesn't surprise me people get annoyed with him sometimes, the poor fella was just curious to know why Assaidi hasn't been played, because he played well when he has been on the pitch and now he's not even on the bench (i'm guessing!). We all know that they probably didn't actually want to know exactly where he is right now! {Ed002's Note - The famous "scouse humour" seems to have disappeared completely then.}

09 Feb 2013 19:14:50
hye eds, is Liverpool interested in both son heung min and leo baptistao. both are under 23 with huge potential. if borini is sold, I hope Liverpool both of them as they are very good. {Ed002's Note - A number of clubs, including Liverpool, have been looking at Hamburg's Heung Min Son for the past year. Certainly Spurs, Sunderland, Lille and West Ham have had him watched on more than one occasion recently and Spurs had a bid turned down in January. I expect him to move in the summer.

There has been no direct approach to Rayo about Leo Baptistao from Liverpool, Manchester United or Newcastle, but all have had representatives attend at least one game since the beginning opf December. Even though eveyone is aware that it will be difficult to get a work permit at this time, Fulham and Sunderland have made enquiries with the club. Expect Atletico Madrid to look to him.}

Hi again Ed,
Any genuine interest in Eriksen? If so would he be willing to come to us ahead of Europes elite clubs? {Ed002's Note - Try the search function please.}

10 Feb 2013 10:20:34
Not without champ league. So doubt it

09 Feb 2013 17:16:45
Hi Ed002,
don`t know if all of you eds are on vacation, as you clearly deserve it after the window and your excelent work, but if you could tell me if goal keepers from German Bundesliga are being considered as replacement for Reina? I was thinking about Dortmund or Hamburg goalies. Any chance this summer? thanks.
tom {Ed002's Note - I really don't know who, if anybody, is being considered right now Tom.}

09 Feb 2013 15:51:01
Hey Ed, what is your take on a possible summer exchange deal involving Carrol and Ben Arfa?

Furthermore I am hearing whispers FSG a looking to provide BR with a £35m summer budget.

Thanks, Dave. {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any possible summer exchange.}

Ehhh no thanks, we won't straight cash, £15m+ is the talk if we can get it lol, Ben Arfa is to inconsistent, 1 in 5 is not good enough! RedzBak.

09 Feb 2013 12:22:53
Eds could we see andy carroll given a chance next seoson?
Rodgers has already made mistakes in judging players without giving them a proper chance, we just have to look at henderson.

Personally I think we have
suarez flamboyant
Sturridge quick
Borini don't know what to make of him yet
Carroll powerful in the air

We could have 4 quality fowards
Nxt season should try and buy a cb
And a powerful cm player

{Ed002's Note - I expect Carroll will leave in the summer.}

Yes give the guy a chance to prove, but as a supersub and also as plan B. IMO better than borini. yes better than borini. As for style, our style won`t suit every team, so better prepared acordingly for every style. He is a professional, so he should adapt (ala Henderson or Downing) and who knows he adapt to our style after all no one has seen the future. If you see Sturridge for example, the majority was saying he is not good, he is greedy, his attitude stinks, he doesn't score goals ect ect ect ect.

Would that be the Carroll with 58 appearances? How many more chances does he need to show how pants he is for us?

09 Feb 2013 16:10:59
Forget about Carroll, he has yet to prove his worth IMO. Why would we even want him is a better question. Rodgers has put faith in Hendo, hence him playing. This also was also against most who probably wrote him off.

Sturridge, Suarez & maybe Borini as I am not convinced about him are brilliant against football playing teams, but against the cloggers who just use muscle, Stoke etc we could of used Carroll as a plan "B".

The only thing I miss about Carroll is he improved our defense against corners and free kicks. Which is a pretty sad only positive for a 35M striker.

As much that I'd love Carroll to come back it isn't going to happen!

If Rodgers is sacked then Carroll may be back

Rodgers stopped picking Henderson. coached him. now he is showing what he can do. Rodgers showed his managerial worth in that single act.

To be fair Carroll is on fire with 2 in 15 this year, can't see why we wouldn't want him back to hold up the development of youngsters at the club.

Carroll's attitude and ability have not changed one iota. We do not need a plan be that involves hoofing the ball up - it's a crap philosophy and one we don't need to stoop to in order to get results, our mentality is good enough and if we keep improving the team and bringing youngsters through we will do well. All this talk of a physical prescence needed is fallacy - players being played in the right position, at the right time is all that is needed i. e. when facing a physically imposing midfield don't play Allen opt for Henderson or Shelvey instead. I hope we don't go down this "plan b" route as it will ruin the attractive, possession football we are trying to integrate throughout the entire club.

SMc

p. s. players who don't even have the heart to really try, really desire to play for the red shirt shouldn't be here - Carroll is such a player. I've criticised Joe Allen this season and, recently his performances have waned. But at least he looks like he cares, and like he wants to do well - could we say the same for Carroll?

And carroll isn't quality.

Hi Eds. Love the site. I was just wondering if Valdez will replace reina.
Thanks in advance {Ed002's Note - You mean Guardiola takes over as Liverpool manager?}

09 Feb 2013 11:44:37
Nah man! Ochoa or Ter stegen or both! Now that would be cool!

Hi ed002, are you implying there that valdes is off to bayern? {Ed002's Note - There is every chance that he is.}

I can see valdez going to arsenal

Where is Neuer going then? As I think he is the best keeper in the world, so why would Bayern need Valdes. {Ed002's Note - There will be a lot of movement with GKs this summer with Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern, Liverpool and Arsenal all looking to that market. Neuer is the second choice for Barcelona.}

Why Guardiola?

Love Valdes

Neuer is much better than Valdes!

Valdez is horrible, I really hope not.

Is funny that a lot of people rate valdez. is jjust because he is barca player. he is a terrible gk

09 Feb 2013 10:58:30
Hi eds, I wonder if ulreich of stuttgart would be a good replacement for reina. {Ed002's Note - No chance, sorry.}

09 Feb 2013 10:46:36
Morning eds! If we do go back for Ince in summer how much would BR have to pay for him? More than was quoted last month or whaat? All the best boys, take it easy. Nice 1. Gaz {Ed002's Note - It depends on interest from elsewhere.}

09 Feb 2013 10:26:00
Hello Eds,
could Adil Rami and Gary Medel be an option for CB and CDM for the summer?
due to the financial situation in Spain. {Ed002's Note - I don't see either moving to Liverpool in the summer.}

09 Feb 2013 09:39:02
Hi Eds

Central defender we have been linked with during the transfer window is 25 year old Modibo Diakité from Lazio.
His contract runs out end of June so he would be available on a free transfer (if there is such a thing).
Are we still interested or do you think there are better options elsewhere?

Thanks
Paul {Ed002's Note - Diakite will be free in the summer and has been refusing to agree a new deal at Lazio. A bid from Genoa was rejected. Bordeaux would be interested in taking him in the summer for free but as he hasn't taken the opportunity to sign a pre-contract I would expect he plans to stay in Italy with either Inter or Lazio.}

Thanks Ed002
Very informative as usual.

This diakite is no where near the standard required to play for Liverpool.

hes strong and powerful but lacks pace, agility and timing.

PL strikers will destroy him.

Hi eds, I think eriksen of Ajax is a super player and think he is what we need in midfield, what do you think the chances are of us getting him to anfield? Also hearing that arda turan is open for a Liverpool move, also IMO a great player, BR has us playing some nice football and the future at our beloved club looks somewhat brighter

Dipper YNWA 96 angels always in our hearts {Ed002's Note - Eriksen has been dealt with already today. Arda was certainly looked at by Liverpool but clearly those that were in control of transfers did not progress any initial interest. Eventually he moved to Spain. We knew very early on that he would be leaving Galatasaray for Atletico Madrid once money had been freed up through the sale of Aguero - although there was strong interest from elsewhere. Arda Turan will most likely move this coming summer subject to a suitable bid being made - something in the order of £18M-£20M. The likely destinations are England and Italy although there remains a chance that German interest from both B ayern Munich and Schalke 04 will still be there - and an outside chance of a return to Turkey. Atletico Madrid have already rejected a move from Schalke saying they did not want to sell in January.}

09 Feb 2013 10:35:22
Expect Ince to join not Turan unfortunatley!

Would be good if Turan signed but at the price quoted, and the other areas that will need strengthening, it seems highly unlikely unless a number of outgoings occur in summer.

Hey Eds, any chance of Eriksen in the summer? He's world class already, and we need more players of his type!

Cheers

HBRed {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Spurs, Inter and AC Milan have shown some level of interest in Eriksen in the past year or so. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan and Spurs remain the most interested clubs and Manchester City may well return for him again. Back in July the Milan Press Office were convinced of interest from Manchester United and they have let it be known that they expected a bid to be made by for Eriksen. Expect both Milan clubs and Roma to press if a bid is made by Manchester United and I remain in agreement with them that there is every chance of that happening. The player remains adament that he will stay in Amsterdam for18 more months before moving to Spain but would likely jump at the chance of a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona if the opportunity arises. However, Ajax will not let him run down his contract so a move beckons. The player will see out the rest of the season at Ajax and see if he can attract attention from Spain.}

09 Feb 2013 06:05:39
Hi eds. Top site always good for genuine info plus the odd hilarious "my sisters cousins saw. " Story. Tried search with no joy. Any idea where the Christian Erikksen rumours keep coming from? In my opinion he'll be snapped up by a top team (sadly no longer us) the guy is pure class - surely way out of our reach.

09 Feb 2013 05:10:50
The club still believes ince will sign. Nigerian GK Enyeama to replace Reina. Cheers

Hope you have enjoyed the ACON, sadly your keeper claim will come back to haunt you today, when Burkina Faso bang 3 past him!

Liverpool are planning a big money move for Fiorentina's Stevan Jovetic this summer with Fabio Borini rumoured to be heading the other way in a player plus cash deal. Rodgers has other big targets and here are some possible moves this summer In-Jovetic, Sahko, ter Stegen, Ince, Hooper, Matic, Rojas Out-Borini, Carroll, Reina, Downing, Coates, Spearing, Assaildi,

09 Feb 2013 11:11:29
Jovetic to Liverpool? All depends if Suarez leaves and IF he does then yes we will aim for another top striker but will be difficult if no champ league AGAIN!

Downing going nowhere!

Ince the only likely transfer out of the ones you've mentioned. Turan a possibility if Downing leaves. Jovetic no chance regardless of Suarez staying or going.

SKRTEL's agent said that he wants to stay at LIVERPOOL and he has already rejected bids from zenit and other European clubs

Sell Skrtel!

10 Feb 2013 10:27:24
Don't want Martin leaving, he's as good as any Centre Half in the prem. BR is doing the right thing resting him because he is having a dip in form, but the guy has played continously for 3 years, it was bound to happen. I see him coming back stronger than ever and the Skertel Agger partnership being as good as Hyypia/Henchoz.
