Rumour is that LFC are going to table a bid of €12.5m for Andre Ayew (from SoccerLens, don't know how reliable they are though).

Believable5 Unbelievable18

{Ed002's Note - The lady to ask left England this morning - and as far as she knows there is nothing from Liverpool at this time - although she is hoping to get some interest from clubs. l'OM are more than happy to sell Andre Ayew and if anyone makes an acceptable offer to both the club and player then he will move on. Knee surgery blocked any chance of a January move but he is now back fully fit and has been playing in the team. Last summer saw some interest from Newcastle, Inter Milan, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Dynamo Kyiv. Liverpool also enquired after a guideline price for the player last summer. It will be, primarily, down to his agent to see what other potential suitors there are - probably in Italy or England. The player has suggested he would like to move on to a "better" side and cited Chelsea, Real Madrid or Barcelona as ideal destinations - he will be waiting a long time for that. l'OM has not been approached by Liverpool but are aware of speculation. An offer from Napoli was rejected and I am told Biesla wants him to stay but others want him out - however, if l'OM can get Newcastle interested in Ayew then they can focus on Cabella as his replacement.}

Read today that Barca are looking at rues, and may have a agreed a fee with Dortmund! His injury may cause a setback, but if this were to happen, do you believe it will increase the chances pedro or Sanchez leave, or both?

Believable4 Unbelievable9

{Ed002's Note - It will make no difference - Barcelona will listen to good offers for both players.}

question for the eds

brendan rogers seems to like the look of will hughes at derby but obviously the money is going on experienced players to build up the squad.

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to get in to money, but no, that is not allowable.

Eds, I didn't find anything by searching. Do you know if there is any link between Karim Bellarabi and Liverpool? Or what is happening with him?

Believable1 Unbelievable9

{Ed002's Note - Eintracht Braunschweig still want to make Karim Bellarabi's loan permanent whilst there is interest from both Hamburg and Hoffenheim. Interest from Stuttgart seems to have gone.}

09 Jun 2014 17:50:04
Well, judging by the comments made by Mario Mandzukic, he'll leave BM this summer, wonder where he's going to end up?

So two big names today, this fellow and Morata of RM will leave their respective clubs. Get the cash ready

Believable4 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City see Mandzukic as a replacement for Dzeko and Manchester United remain interested. Morata has been dragging on from last summer when a number of clubs were interested in taking Morata on loan - this included CSKA and Arsenal. Real Madrid also thought that Liverpool would ask for Alvaro Morata as part of any transaction for Suarez but they never got that far in discussions. With a new striker arriving in the summer and Jese Rodriguez playing the way he is playing Morata may well be available for loan or sale. It was clear that there was interest from Arsenal in January and that interest remains. There is also interest from Juventus who have held discussions with Real Madrid and from Spurs. Dortmund and Napoli seem to have dropped what interest they had. If a sale rather than a loan is to happen, then Real Madrid will look for a buy-back clause which may be of a concern to the London clubs.}

09 Jun 2014 18:37:36
Dzeko leaving City eds? That's an interesting one I thought they would want to keep hold of him.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Dzeko may well be leaving but interest from Borussia Dortmund has waned. However, I expect a bid from Valencia and just perhaps Inter.}

is it true or have you herd different that Yesil is off to Trabzonspor on loan.

Believable18 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - It is correct.}

Good luck to him hope he gets over his injuries and returns the top prospect he was.

Could have a really bright future if he stays injury free.

Agree1 Disagree0

Wow I thought he was still out of action, great move for Yersil, hopE he gets game time and starts banging em in great prospect and I hoped Sami would take him at brighton. I predict many pool players will end up there on loan next season. Good news for me as my now home town :-)

Hopefully he does well. I would like to see him in the first team in the future.

Hey everyone,

Just found out my hairdresser is also the hairdresser for much of the Southampton team, including Adam lallana, Rickie Lambert, Jay Rod and Luke Shaw. He was even offered to go to Brazil with them. He has informed me that although it isn't a huge suprise, that Lallana is extremely confident that a move will go ahead. He also sid that shaw reckons he is definitely off to manchester united and that Jay rodriguez is going to tottenham.
Unfortunately Lallana said he would rather go to Tottenham if they also had champions league.
I know this is nothing new, but it is nice to know that adam is so confident he is on his way to Anfield.

COME ON ENGLAND!

To suggest Lallana prefers Tottenham at this stage is mischievous and irresponsible. Rumours like this I hope are taken with a pinch if salt.

Why would they offer to take him with them how many hair cuts would they need for the matter of a few weeks.?

{Ed030's Note - I'd give them all a short and neat. }

I go to the same hairdressers as Lallana and it's not in Southampton. Equally the other players mentioned don't go there, nice try though.

Hi eds

Do you have any information on Andre Gomes
From Benfica? Would Liverpool or any other premier league
Clubs be interested?

Looks like a great player for the future, comparisons to Ronaldo already!

Thanks for any info

Great site by the way, big fan ;)

Believable3 Unbelievable13

{Ed001's Note - I don't know anything about him sorry.}

I just looked up the portugal world cup squad to see, he's made that so we might all get a look at him during it!

Might turn out a kipper lol but looks great and he's big headed like ronnie from the matches iv seen! Always makes them fun to watch.

Eds, is there any truth that we (LFC) want Arda Turan and have made contact with his agent? I know Barca may put in an offer for him, but he, as far as I know, is a LFC fan so could opt for us if we put an offer on the table.

Believable2 Unbelievable14

{Ed001's Note - I am not aware of any offer being made for him.}

Think we have left this one too late! Should have captured him last season or season before when I think we had far more chance and for less money I imagine than will be asked for now

Agree5 Disagree0

I reckon he'd be too expensive now. Lacks pace as well. Think we can get faster and as technical far cheaper.

Hi Eds, great work. First time poster so go easy. What is the story with Suso? I would think that common sense dictates the club should hold on to him, but it's hard to tell what will happen with so little accurate information out there.
With the club apparently looking at a CAM or CM, surely he would be well able for both roles? Or is it not that simple?

Believable6 Unbelievable6

{Ed001's Note - he was offered as part of a deal for Moreno, it seems the club do not see a place for him next season. Like any player, it is up to him to change minds, as Henderson has done.}

Borini & Adan Johnson swap deal seems to be the papers rumour of the day

Believable5 Unbelievable82

We would have to be complete persons to do a deal like this, trading a player with great desire, work ethic, love for the club and intangibles for somebody whose most notable trait is going missing from games.

Agree1 Disagree0

Would be poor swap!

can anyone tell me what the plan is for Enrique? If he's staying will he be fit for August?

Believable4 Unbelievable12

Of caurse he should be in Brendan's plan. We need two left backs with the number of games awaiting us next season. Most likely, he will be used in physical games and in games we need to be less attacking

Agree0 Disagree2

Leaving I imagine. Moreno looks like his replacement with flanno as his back up.

Agree1 Disagree1

The plan is to get rid. He is lazy, stupid and quite frankly dangerous. No positional sense, no idea about defending (bar the occasional shielding of the ball). He is quick, but I imagine that's gone after this injury. If anyone buys him we will use Flanagan and Can as backup for Moreno.

Agree1 Disagree2

El pistolero, Enrique is a very good left back. He is defensively strong, but not so effective going forward, and unfortunately is prone to injury. I do not appreciate fans slating players in the way you just did. Personally, I would be happy to keep him as backup/competition to Moreno. Moreno is very strong going forward and could learn a lot defensively from Enrique.

Red Rum

Agree9 Disagree1

Well said Red-Rum

Agree2 Disagree1

I disagree. I can't believe that you think that his best qualities are his defending. The only thing Enrique really had going for him was his pace & strength; Going forward.

In the 13/14 season Enrique played 8 games, assisting & scoring on 2 occasions. Making his Assists/Goals:Game ratio 1:4, one of the most prolific fullbacks in the EPL last season. 12/13 Enrique played 29 games, returning 4 assists (1:7.25, relatively good). Attack certainly wasn't his weak point.

I don't 'slate' a player rashly. I believe that before anyone passes judgement they should allow the judged a reasonable amount of opportunity to prove their abilities, or lack of, before passing judgement. For example Iago Aspas, unfortunately for him he is contending with arguably the most potent forward line in world football. Naturally playing time has been limited, and when playing time has been available to Aspas he has been forced to play in a wide role which for someone of his pace & strength is not exactly ideal. His specialism is creating space for himself in the box, he can move very cleverly, and he's not a bad finisher of the ball. He's an out-and-out poacher. He has a fantastic attitude, he hasn't really sulked at not playing, and has supported the team fully when on the bench. It's a shame he will most likely be leaving this summer, I would've liked to see him get an opportunity in his more favoured position.

Enrique on the other hand has been the only established LB at the club for 3 years, has been playing regularly & has impressed in flashes until his positional competence has been sorely exposed. He is more fragile than China & is months overdue in terms of recovery time, this isn't a coincidence. The injury is serious, and will likely have a devastating effect on his best attribute, pace. Enrique, in the 8 games he's played this season, has been involved in 40 duels, winning 50% (20) of them. If he is now lacking pace, coupled with his ineptitude at reading the game (see duels won) he will find it very hard to right the mistakes he will inevitably make. In the 8 games he played this Season he has attempted 8 tackles, winning 5 (72.7% success). Not exactly setting the world on fire with his defensive stats. In fact, contrary to your point his best area is his ability to get forward.

YNWA

Agree2 Disagree1

I don't think whatever way you rate him it's right to call him lazy, stupid and dangerous. Come on. I've seen some of your posts el pistelero. You're better than that. Personally I think he's a good defender and at going forward. Your stats are from an injury plagued season. It's hardly fair to judge him on that so rashly. If he was fit I'd be happy to have him but it seems to me he might be replaced by a more youthful option in Moreno with flano as backup and possibly Can as an option if we're stuck.

Agree2 Disagree0

Perhaps stupid was an ill advised description. I will rescind that comment as there was no need for that. I just felt as though that was the only way to describe his decision making. The irony is mate that last season was his most productive, if he was injured when playing he managed to assist at a rate higher than any other full back in the league. He is lazy and his decison making is dangerous to us. When he decides to just run with the ball and gets dispossessed he is very slow at getting back, his decision making without Carra in the team is dangerous. We lost so much in JC, natural leader who can talk a defensive unit through the game. It really isn't a coincidence that GJ is being highlighted as a liability this year, frankly Jon has put him to shame this year. The problem with having wing backs like Johnson and Enrique is that when you remove the leader they just seem to go forward without a call, no one communicates. I reckon Kirikou will fix this next year, however if as I believe he will have permanently decreased pace that is besides the point because he will have no means to rectify his mistakes.

I do apologise for calling him stupid, that was harsh. I couldn't think of a more appropriate way to describe his decision at the time, I do not apologise for the rest.

Hi Eds

Could Toby Alderweireld be a target this summer?

Thanks

Believable3 Unbelievable17

{Ed001's Note - I don't expect us to move for him this summer.}

09 Jun 2014 11:57:14
Estadio Deportivo are reporting that Moreno is due to fly in today to complete his move to LFC with the clubs agreeing a fee of 20 million euros plus add ons. In another Seville based newspaper call El Correo De Andalucia they are reporting that Moreno has his bags packed for Liverpool. Bearing in mind that these papers have close links to Sevilla FC (eg, The Echo with LFC) it looks like a done deal.

Believable66 Unbelievable7

Any truth in this eds?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - well they are being reported in Andalucia yes. I am not sure if he is flying in today though or not. As for ties with the club, that just means they report what they are asked to report, which isn't always the truth. In this case, they are correct that Rakitic is set to sign for Barcelona, the bags being packed is a metaphor for the deal being close.}

I hope he hasn't packed his shorts it's a bit chilly for a spaniard today.

Agree1 Disagree0

Liverpool met the price a few days ago if my source is correct, we was always going to meet the price they were asking. Well worth imo. Ed001 what do you think of this signing, I seem to recall you being a mutual fan of the kid.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I do like him myself, I think it will be a good signing. He seems to have all the attributes required, just have to hope he has the personality to make the most of the opportunity now.}

He definitely has the ability to make it; from what I've seen. Also from the evidence of Brendan's management if there is any manager who can improve him mentally as well as physically it is him. If it goes through that's 3 excellent additions already in 3 positions desperately in need of improvement, I wonder if we'll still get hate towards FSG and BR though.

Agree1 Disagree1

09 Jun 2014 11:06:45
Moreno is not of interest now, club unwilling to meet the price. Attention has now been placed back on Ryan Bertrand to compete with Flanagan at LB. Representatives will also be in Barcelona this week to discuss Sanchez. As Eds has mentioned before, Sanchez would only be an option if Suarez leaves, so I think there is a good chance that he will leave this Summer.

Believable17 Unbelievable105

Well, if we don't up our bid to take Moreno & instead choose Bertrand and if we end up paying £30million for Lallana then I would say that Rodgers has proven again that he is s--t at summer transfer dealings.

Agree3 Disagree2

I hope we don't buy Lallana, I do like him but I wouldn't want to pay above £18 million for him.

Agree3 Disagree0

Agree with Sumon. Bertrand was rubbish for Villa and Chelsea.
Lambert and Bertrand. Jeez what a squad

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed030's Note - Lambert's a very good squad player imo, Never been a big fan of Betrand mind. }

09 Jun 2014 10:09:43
Ed001 I hope you know this is your fault. After you little charade yesterday, {Ed001's note - yes} the entire media base has gone mad this morning and claims we are bidding £10m for Andre Ayew. It is too blatant to be coincidence. A high profile Journo has read your site and thought "I'll copy that and palm it off as an inside scoop!" And now the internet has gone into frenzy. I hope you're happy. You've just caused about 48 hours of Ed002 answering "any update on Ayew Eds?" constantly that will no dount drive him insane after the Moreno debacle.

Believable5 Unbelievable10

{Ed002's Note - l'OM are more than happy to sell Andre Ayew and if anyone makes an acceptable offer to both the club and player then he will move on. Knee surgery blocked any chance of a January move but he is now back fully fit and has been playingin the team. A representative of l'OM has left England this morning, and I am sure she would have stayed if there were firm interest from Liverpool.}

Suso his agent said this "Porto are in advance talks to sign Liverpool winger Suso" is it a Loan or peramanent, do you know anything about this?

Believable7 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - There was a story a few weeks back about Porto being offered to Porto, but I have not heard anything since.}

Wow, so Porto are being offered their own club? Interesting negotiation tactics from the Liverpool board.

Hi eds, what teams hold an interest in Insigne? he's playing amazing tonight and has a better end product than shaqiri from what I've seen over the last year. Thanks

Believable2 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - Fiorentina are interested in striking a deal for Insigni. Napoli are hoping he does well in Brazil so they can get other clubs interested and an auction going.}

Ben smith (BBC) says Liverpool are very interested in Sanchez.
Ed2 says no so it's a no in my book.

Believable7 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - I think you will find what I said was if Liverpool are interested, it will be as a replacement for Suarez.}

Could it be just a case of Sanchez over Lallana Ed? Would be good to have Sanchez and Suarez in the same team next season.

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed reading the article mentioned above it says it will come down to wether barca want to get rid. I thought he was definitely up for sale has something changed?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There has been some interest from Juventus and Arsenal. Barcelona will be willing to let Sanchez move on and would be open to using him in a player exchange deal. There have been discussions Juventus in respect of Sanchez and there is no secret that his agent has confirmed that they would be willing to meet the terms that the player desires. However, they are far from agreeing a figure with Barcelona for the sale - very far indeed. Barcelona will be willing to let Sanchez move on for a very significant fee or would be open to using him in a player exchange deal. Barcelona were looking to replace Fabregas with Vidal and were looking to that as an option whilst there is such a difference between what is being asked and what is being offered. However, with talks dragging on and Juventus wanting to keep Vidal their attention shifted from Vidal to Koke and then to Rakitic.}

Why would it only be as a replacement for Suarez?we may not have chelseas bottomless money pit but i'm sure we could afford Sanches anyway, if we thought the deal was right.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - What has it to do with Chelsea?}

Hi Eds,

I've just read an article in the Mirror (!) where they supposedly cite a Croatian newspaper an interview with Mandzukic in which he states that he will leave Bayern because he is not suited to Guardiola's tactics.

If he becomes available he would probably be one of the very few strikers who could actually be a decent alternative should Suarez leave.

I know it's premature and farfetched but do you see Mandzukic for EPL?
