Great win! Henderson MOTM for me! Sadly, Cissokho stood out in a negative way and Enrique made a big difference after coming up!

This match showed that 4 at the back is the way forward. Agger and Skrtel should be first choice. Sakho and Toure not good enough.

Agree2 Disagree13

Thank god cissokho is only on loan.He is not good enough, simple.Yes we should keep four at the back, with Agger alongside Skrtel.Pity Rodgers didn't do it last week!

Agree0 Disagree0

I personally would take Agger and Toure as my centre back pairing. Hendo was Brilliant him and Jonhson have been har for defenses to handle given their engines, passing in triangles with stevie, and Johnson's overlaps for crossing. Agree that 4 at the back is the way forward. I'd give cissookho a lot more time.It can take a while for people to adjust if they don't know the language, style of play, pace of game etc.
Remember Carra said last year he gave up on Enrique in terms of holding position, he says he just does what he wants and isn't disciplined.

Agree0 Disagree0

Harsh on Sakho, he a dodgy first few games but had been getting better and better - was our best defender away at Arsenal and despite Skrtel being a threat from corners he is still way too suspect at the back, decision making is woeful at times. Agger/Sakho should be tried, Agger has the experience and quality to organise Sakho. at the very least that centre back pairing must be tried, the money we spent on Sakho requires it surely?

Thoroughly agree with Seano. I think Sakho and Agger are not only our most talented defenders, but better athletes than Skyrtel as well.

Lots of debates getting throwing out there now who do you realistically see coming in and going out in January especially in the middle as ever since arsenal away we all think our midfielders aren't good enough {Ed002's Note - I dealt with it in an earlier post: http://tinyurl.com/qbhjo5u}

Gaston Ramirez is unsettled at soton according to bbc, thought we should have signed him originally, any chance we would go for him in jan either loan or perm deal?
Plays with Suarez 4 Uruguay so hopefully help keep him settled too! {Ed002's Note - Liverpool were never going to sign Ramirez and he is struggling in England because of the culture and language etc.. It would be very high on the extremely dumb list to buy him.}

Believable1 Unbelievable15

Surely having 2 compatriots in the squad who can empathise with what he's going through and can help him, it would mitigate the risk some what? So it could be more of a calculated gamble than dumb.

Not that I'm suggesting we sign him as I actually don't think he's what we need and think he's overrated.

{Ed002's Note - Sure, but you might be aware that both compatriots want out. Or perhaps they should hang on to wet-nurse Ramirez, a player Liverpool were never going to buy? From my perspective it is dumb not a calculated risk.}

Agree1 Disagree0

And as we know Ed, wanting out at leaving can be two different things. I still believe it could be a way of mitigating any risk of a player settling and there have been numerous examples of this over the years.

You're entitled to think it dumb and given that I don't even rate the player or want him signed, I'll agree to disagree about the 'wet nurse'. {Ed002's Note - There is a good chance of some of the youngsters moving on so perhaps the Liverpool kindergarten folk could help out with Ramirez. We should have some polls about who would be the best little Portuguese friend for Tiago Ilori, a nice little Belgium chum for Mignolet.

Coates is only still at the club as he is injured. The Suarez situation remains clear - he wants out - but his agent is aware of some difficulties and is doing the rounds again.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Why in the world would we buy a Southhampton reject? He has been pushed back by Steve Davies! The lad can't settle, and probably doesn't fit in the Sotton's presssing style, which I think we are trying to emulate.

Agree0 Disagree1

Ya have to agree with Drigan here, the lad doesn't look like he can cut it in the PL so why oh why would we want him! Bloat the squad with overpaid players again?

Hi eds.
Do you know of any interest in Mitroglou?
Looks like he could be a great signing.
Cheers {Ed002's Note - Mitroglou has attracted a lot of interest with Mainz, Inter and Dortmund declaring an interest in the player. Certainly Arsenal has had the player scouted and I suspect others have done the same.}
