Morning ed2. Hope all is well.

Dont know if you have answered this but a few reports saying Bobby Duncan could be on his way to Fioretina.

A loan with option to buy. £10million. Seems a lot.

ta very much from a hot and sticky west country.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool may well see Ryan Kent, Herbie Kane and Bobby Duncan leave in the coming days as all want to move on. It is the result of young players having expectations that they are ready to step up to the first team when they are not. It is a blight hitting many English sides and it is exasperated by the bringing in of youngsters from abroad. German clubs are sending scouts to numerous English youth sides as they look to cherry pick the best players. And yes, Fiorentina want to take Duncan.

It is indeed humid outside in the South West.}

If those playets go along with others we have sold, that should add up to quite a lot pennies.

Do you see any of the players mentioned worth keeping?

{Ed002's Note - I don't know enough about the youngsters beyond reputation - and I understand that Duncan is expected to do well - whether or not they will eventually be good enough to play for Liverpool is another matter. Clearly Gerrard thinks enough of Kent to continue to look to sign him - and he is certainly for sale. Fiorentina are chasing Duncan and would like a loan to buy - but Liverpool will likely block the move. Kane seems to attracting the interest of much lower tier sides who want him on loan - Portsmouth, Coventry and Hibs. Interest in Kane from a couple of London clubs has gone.}

I’m surprised we didn’t let Kane go to Hull who are now managed by the old Doncaster manager, would of been the next step?

He publically said he was keen on Kane but window has shut. Seems odd.

Kane has attended a few of Doncaster's home games this season so it could be possible he rejoins the club.

Letting Duncan leave on a loan to buy deal could be a mistake unless we command a generous fee, I'd much prefer just a standard 1 year loan to a lower league English team if he wants to play first team football this season. He may be feeling it's too tough a task to spend a few years trying to make it at Liverpool but fiorentina at 18 yrs old is risky too, he should look for a season loan in England or maybe SPL.

Wonder would Gerrard hold interest in developing his cousin at rangers? And surely we can't afford to keep Kent stagnating in our reserves for another year when he'll be 23. And regarding Kane I also think a loan would surely only be beneficial to raising his stock.

I rate Bobby Duncan but the moment an 18 old tries to dictate to an institution like Liverpool fc there’s only going to be one winner. I expect we don’t know what’s going on behind closed doors.

28 Aug 2019 02:42:55
Is Bobby trying to dictate terms to liverpool? I have no idea of the inner convos obviously, but I feel like that is a bit of a stretch to conclude that Bobby is in someway trying to manipulate Liverpool into giving him first team minutes. Could it simply be that he thinks he is ready, doesn't see the opportunity but does see it elsewhere?

28 Aug 2019 07:14:07
It’s tough at the junior level, opportunities to break through to competitive first team football are rare, perhaps Bobby is simply looking at Brewster and Glatzel and figuring if he gets a shot anywhere competitive he simply can’t afford to turn it down. Doesn’t mean he’s trying to hold Liverpool hostage.

28 Aug 2019 10:31:42
I’d say if glatzel is ahead of Duncan move Duncan on if he wants to go. It’s very hard to break into the first team, if he has an opportunity abroad, let him take it.

This isn’t so much a football issue as it is a social issue. The ‘yoof’ of today expect everything right now!

28 Aug 2019 17:09:33
Seems like the players thinks he is a bigger deal then he actually is?

That's the problem with youth football today, they get paid thousands of pounds a week and instantly think they are gods gift and good enough to be a starter for any team in the world.

I fail to see how Duncan can be kept at the club after Saif Rubie's derogatory comments online.

I don't actually believe a word that scumbag agent claimed.

"boy is in real trouble mentally, physically and emotionally because of this, and I really pray that his experience doesn’t happen to any young players again. ”

Like what? The kid's 18 and under contract at his boyhood club, only a year ago when he signed he wrote;
“I have waited so long for this day to finally come, joining a club I’ve grown up watching and supported all my life. Liverpool is my boyhood club, my dream! Now let’s get down to business. "

And now after one good season at U18 level he is:
“never going back there again and he’s on such a small salary that no amount of fines will even make a difference. ”
Huh? Again, he's under contract but now it's the agent making it about money, which is hardly a first.

He also claimed Liverpool told Duncan he wouldn't be receiving a new contract and “have even gone as far as saying in writing that they will punish him and make him stay at the club until January and beyond to teach him a lesson. ”

Teach him a lesson? This really sounds like bs to me. For a while now Liverpool's clear and obvious policy has been to give young players a new contract before sending them on loan. Pretty sure they wouldn't suddenly change that for one player.

As Carra said, Duncan should sack this no good agent asap and Liverpool should never deal with him again. Of course we don't know exactly how BD is behaving regarding all this but he certainly seems to be getting some bad advice. The best thing for him would be to sign a new contract and then go on loan to the top tier in Holland or Belgium where I think he could thrive, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

As for Herbie Kane he already proved himself in League one so with the Championship window also closed (dunno why he didn't go to Hull) I guess a loan to the Scottish Prem is the best option or even better still to a stronger league abroad. Of course that all depends on if any interest materializes and from where.
