Ed002 I know you have recently published your strong views on Liverpool’s approach to solicit the services of Timo Werner, fair enough, but do you believe we will eventually bid once the resumption of the Premier League has been resolved one way or the other and is he a good fit for Liverpool? Is he hard working, does he track back and provide support for the midfield in terms of defensive values etc?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool should be forced to buy him at whatever price RBL want but history tells us Liverpool may not do that. He is typically only in his own half at the start of games - I am sure you can find some "heatmaps" which should give some idea.}

LFC seems to be Werner's first choice. Not sure Werner is LFC's first choice.

Maybe we will bid after we sell someone. Money isn't going to grow on trees for football clubs this year.

I think we wanted him and would of likely gone for him pre-Covid however this has changed the majority of teams plans for the summer.
We have clearly turned his head, now we find a way to stump up the cash imo.
Problem is RBL now have an lfc created problem on their hands that they would prefer resolved sooner rather then later.

ed002 is the interest in Timo true from Liverpool then, I was not sure if it was just paper talk.

{Ed002's Note - I have explained the situation over and over - try the search engine.}

There seems to be real interest from LFC in a CB, so I'm not sure how the money will be there to also spend on Werner unless Salah or Mane were to leave first. Way too many "ifs" for us to speculate that we're in on Werner (not even touching on the possibility of tapping up) . I'm also not sure on what planet Werner is an improvement on either Mane or Salah, so any excitement should probably instead be concern.

Ed002 who do you see us selling this season I know there is a couple out of contract lallana and Clyde. But do you see Harry Wilson grujić and Ojo being sold.

{Ed002's Note - The situation prior to the pandemic would be something like this (although this has not been updated for a while).

Outbound:
Shamal George (G) loan to St Gallen then what as he is never going to get a chance at Liverpool
Loris Karius (G) Liverpool will find him back on the doorstep and will need to find a solution - perhaps a reduced price and an early exit
Andy Lonergan (G) out of contract - could stay if Adrian leaves
Adrian (G) has a year to run on his contract but Real Betis would like Liverpool to release him for free this summer - but the club would prefer him to stay - needs resolving but I expect him the stay
Devan Lovren (CB) perhaps in the summer he will move on
Nathaniel Phillips (CB) if Liverpool add Diego Carlos or another CB then time may have come for Phillips - Stuttgart would like to keep him on loan and may be open to buying him at the right price.
Nathaniel Clyne (RB)
Pedro Chirivella (DM/CM) A decision needs to be taken over Pedro Chirivella in the summer. There has been no indication that the club plans to play him - if he is in the first team squad he takes up one of the 25 available spaces, but is HG. He has been playing predominently as a DM in Premier League 2 but is more than capable of playing CM, but Curtis Jones is ahead of him in that role. So it is time for a decision to be made. I don't think the club have plans to sell him - but they will need to tell him what their plans are. Milner signing a new contract, Wijnaldum probably staying, the emerging Jones and the possible return of Grujic will make opportunities thin on the ground - and the lack of any prior playing time implies he may not be seen as trusted cover for Fabinho.
Allan (CM) left for Atletico Mineiro
Gini Wijnaldum (CM) was priced out of a move last summer and will be allowed to leave if a new contract is not agreed. Naby Keita has failed to step up to take his place so the club will look to hold on to Wijnaldum if they can - perhaps until either Keita sorts his act out or until Curtis Jones is ready to step up.
Marko Grujic (CM) Liverpool may opt to take a good profit and run - no guarantee of a work permit or place in the team - and critically not HG - but he wants a chance
Ovie Ejaria (CM) will have the option to join Reading in the summer.
Adam Lallana (LM, AM, CM) time will come in the summer and he will have options home and abroad no doubt
James Milner (CM/RM/LM) signed a new contract so an exit now is very unlikely
Xherdan Shaqiri (AM/RW) wants more game time and if he leaves it opens the door for HG player to ease an issue the club has
Isaac Christie-Davies (AM) loan then sold
Harry Wilson (RW) Minamino likely ends his Liverpool career
Taiwo Awoniyi (F) no meaningful future - will sell in the summer if possible - loan to Mainz has not worked out well
Liam Millar (F) - a youngster who will suffer the same fate as many of the youngsters at Liverpool with opportunity not there
Rhian Brewster (S) loan to Swansea again perhaps.

The club will no doubt be looking again and need to think "financially do we keep them or cut them loose".

thats a good answwr!

Thanks Ed do you think it’s going to be really hard to sell players now or do you see just lower prices. I see Damien Comolli say yesterday that some players with a £30m price tag has dropped to £10m. Do you see if that’s true we might have seen the end of some of these silly prices of players now.

{Ed002's Note - It will be hard to sell all but the most desired players at a premium. You might see a gap before the high prices return and clubs won't have the money so loans will have to be considered.}
