Having spoken with a few of my mates who work within the clubs academy. It’s my understanding that Liverpool are looking to add 3 players in summer. Original targets will be targets again in the future but the virus has meant a change in these plans.

Milot Rashica (Werder Bremen) is a player Liverpool are seriously considering. Much cheaper alternative to Werner who Liverpool may look to strike a deal with in a similar manner to that of Naby Keita. Rashica can operate across the front 3 and would be a replacement for Shaqiri. I would expect this transfer to go through.

Soumare (Lille) a player who has been linked to Liverpool on the past in the papers. It appears although Klopp wants Liverpool to invest in this player with a bit more of an eye to the future. He will likely be a rotation player for the midfield 3 but has the potential to be a top top player. Anther transfer I expect to go through.

The final player Liverpool are said to be very interested in signing is Ben White (Brighton- on loan at Leeds) a really good up and coming young defender who can operate at centre half as well as left full back. A versatile homegrown Young player who will grow into a top player is another I expect to go through this summer.

Liverpool have alternatives to the above players but these I have been told are the top targets now. I understand that a deal for Werner would likely see him join next summer rather than this summer.

The Ed’s are welcome to email me regarding this information.

Thank you. Stay safe.

I'd be very surprised if we do all that but cheers for the rumour.

Personally think we will get Werner and Ben White done this summer with money being recouped by selling Shaq, Lovren, Kane, Ejaria, Wilson, Grujic and possibly Origi.
Jones, Elliot and Williams will have much bigger roles to play next season with so many outgoings.

how do any of those outgoings equal more opportunities for Jones, Elliot and Williams?

If the intention is to replace both Shaq and Origi with just Werner, it opens up a spot for Elliot.
No replacement for Lallana and Clyne means more opportunities for Jones and Williams.
I'd also be ok if we did not sign a replacement for Lovren either. He barely played anyways and Hoever and Van Den Berg need to be thrust into the deep end at some point.

For me we need to improve the squad. We will be doing this by signing the players I have been told we are pushing for. Obviously the likes of Clyne, Lallana and a few of the youngsters will be moved on. Likely Lovren and Shaq as well. By signing Rashica, Soumare and Ben white it improves the squad as a whole while still providing opportunities for the younger players.

Alisson, Adrian, Kelleher
TAA, Neco Williams
VVD, Gomez, Matip, White (lb too), Van den berg
Fabinho, Hendo, Gini, Ox (wing too), Keita, Jones, Milner (everywhere is Millie), Soumare
Salah, Mane, Firmino, Origi, Minamino, Rashica, Elliott

To me that squad is absolutely class. But for me and people within the club sinlgnibg need to be made to stay competitive across the board and to ensure players are brought through and developed for the future.

I am aware that I haven’t mentioned some of the other youngster eg Brewster and hoever. But that squad would be competitive in 4 competitions. The youngsters not mentioned will get some opportunities in the fa and league cup.

That's the key; building up the quality of the squad, not just focusing on the starting XI. ManC can lose the likes of Mendy, De Bruyne or Sane, for example, for an entire season and not feel it. Take one of our stars out for the season and we would feel it for sure, because of the gulf in quality between the starting XI and the rest.
