just read Pedro Chirivella is been offered new 5 years deal, i would love to see him extend his deal with us as he is home grown and you mentioned already we lacking severely in that department, how come this change of heart from liverpool, in your previous posts edd you did mention he will be leaving for free, what's your fresh perspective about it edd is he going to sign or not and should he extend or not.

I thought he agreed to sign with someone else?

The lad is 22. He needs to be getting regular games for the sake of his career rather than wasting his time trying to get games for us. Time for him to move on I think. Good player from the little I've seen but I'd hate for him to miss an opportunity to get weekly game time elsewhere.

{Ed002's Note - You are right. I do not know anything of such an offer from Liverpool but he would simply be taking up a squad place if he stayed - or worse be consigned to the reserves with no chance of first team football. In answer to the original question, Curtis Jones seems to be ahead of him in the pecking order and, subject to paperwork etc., Nantes are confident he will make the move he has verbally agreed.}

Pedro Chirivella has done enough to get game time elsewhere, good luck to the lad and hope you do well.

Unfortunately, I think the club are only offering him a 5 year contract with a view to protect their asset.

They'd give him 6-7 games next season, then look to sell him to the highest bidder.

Best thing for the lad to do would be to leave on a free. I wish him all the best and I think he'll have a good career as I rate him highly.

ed2 - do you have an examples in football that are equivalent to a form of sign and trade that is used in american sports? That way ensuring the 'selling' club get something back for the player.

{Ed002's Note - I don't understand the question but Liverpool and Valencia get a small amount paid for his being trained by the clubs.}
