Weston McKennie transfer to Liverpool FC to be announced in about 2 weeks, I think the window reopens July 26th, cracking prospect who plays also in the US national team and is currently managed by Wagnar.

Great little rumour mate. Thanks.

He would be an excellent squad option, and could well end up ahead of Naby and Ox being as he seem's quite consistent . This would be both an excellent and typical FSG type signing.

{Ed002's Note - FSG do not decide which players to sign.}

Just need a Smith in the team then we can have a midfield pair of smith and Weston.

We have plenty of cms can’t see this happening. Has there been any interest Ed’s?

{Ed002's Note - Weston McKennie (CM) wants to play in the Premier League and watched by Brighton, Everton and Crystal Palace, but the smarter scouts should have noticed that Schalke have a far better midfield player in Suat Serder which is where the efforts should be going. Hertha Berlin has a declared interest and plenty of money.}

Hope so. Looks a decent player and hopefully helps build our profile in USA.

The few times I’ve watched Schalke Suat Serder has looked a tidy player. Would the fact hertha are interested in him mean they wouldn’t want to make Grujic a permanent deal?

{Ed002's Note - They do not have the option to make Grujic a permanent player. There are others interested in Grujic.}

Hi Ed002 - good shout on Serder but from what I am told Weston's defensive press and work rate is the reason for getting him in, there is still room for improvement but I am sure Klopp and the team will polish him up.

{Ed002's Note - And who would he replace? Fabinho?}

11 Jul 2020 10:28:13
Interesting if true.

He is young and from what I can tell is more of a defensive minded midfielder so perhaps he as seen as a longer term replacement for Milner?

{Ed002's Note - He would be a good addition but not a starter, not HG and space in the squad is at a premium.}

11 Jul 2020 10:56:40
A player of his type would make sense long term when you consider the age of Henderson Milner and Wij. There work rate surely can’t continue without more injuries occurring but with available cash being a commodity at lfc not sure it’s a priority.

11 Jul 2020 14:39:28
It's an interesting rumor in a vacuum, but I don't see how it makes sense for someone his age to go sit on the bench at LFC. He'd be sitting quite a bit as things currently stand.

Every player who applies themselves in training and shows the hunger and desire tend to get a chance under Klopp, and whilst Naby and Ox are either injured or inconsistent, lallana leaving and Milner in his last year, why would any young and confident player doubt their chances? The we must factor in the US market pull and his price tag.

He looks a tidy player.

Ed is there any truth to this?

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of an approach by Liverpool at this time.}
