Aston villa rumoured to be in for Divock Origi. Some outlets are saying we're looking for around £30million.

It would make perfect sense if we could also bring in Sarr IMO - Divock is good enough to want to play more, but Minamino Is more like for like backup for Firmino. Selling Divock for Sarr would give him the playing time he deserves, while bringing in Sarr would add a natural attacking wide forward to allow us to rest Mane or Salah without us having to change our system too much.

£30mil

Take their arm off!

Loosing Sarr, Mane and Salah for the AFCON would be ridiculous.
Throw in the Algerian CB too and it just doesn't make much sense. I reckon we are throwing some bids out there to create smokescreens .

{Ed002's Note - And Keita.}

SGRed if we could get £20m for Origi I would snatch there hand off let alone £30m. with Money being so tight if we could sell Origi shaqiri and Wilson and get one good player in there who would play as much as shaqiri and Origi I think that would make us so much better. And then add Brewster to the squad I think we would have much better competition for are front 3. And there would also be Minamino who I think is going to turn out a good signing for us but I do think he is going to need another year before we see the best of him.

If Origi is sold the clear and obvious replacement is Brewster. Sarr is not an improvement on what we have in my opinion. Plus the AFCON issue.

Klopp seems to like Ox out wide anyway. He scored 8 goals last season as a ressie (our 4th highest scorer, and 2 more than Sarr) and most of them came off the wings running at people or in behind.

Agree 100% Grino

HMB if we sold Origi and brought in Sarr, it’s not so obvious he’ll be a better player, but i think it makes more sense to have a specialist wide forward on the bench than 3 CFs competing for attention in Origi, Minamino and Brewster (Minamino perhaps the most flexible of these, but arguably Klopps favourite to backup Firmino) .

Ox can certainly play there, but again not a specialist IMO and I think Klopps view is he’s a midfielder first.

Don’t know why you should bite anyone’s arm off at £30 million? After being asked to sit on the bench all season when called upon in our hour of need The Lad scored twice to knock Barcelona out in the semi and scored in the final of the European cup. Doesn’t matter what you think of him them stats don’t lie you should be ashamed to just want to cast him aside for someone who has done nothing!

05 Aug 2020 18:17:54
That's true scouse john L8, the thing is though, Div is not really suited to our system .

05 Aug 2020 18:28:07
So just coz he scored a couple of important goalz, btw his job, how many seasons must we keep him? If a much better player is available then it only makes sense he moves on.
Hopefully the lad can leave on a high get regular game time which is nothing more than he deserves.

05 Aug 2020 18:34:36
Doesn’t matter if he suited Spaceman he can’t get a game he warms the bench. doesn’t moan or try and get a move imagine any other striker done what he did last year, they’d be up in arms full of themselves wanting more money or star player treatment. If Harry Kane would of achieved what origi did he would want to pull Nelson from his column and have himself up there. People talk of getting these players in (raw) and transforming them. Origi £10 million quid scored a brace in semi and comes off his usual perch in the final to win it. Anyone think Sarr would do that?

05 Aug 2020 19:10:40
Why do people keep going on about AFCON? The next one is in January 2022.

05 Aug 2020 20:24:18
We should go for Nkunku from Leipzig only 20 raw talent which Klopp would turn into a superstar.

{Ed002's Note - Sell Nobby then?}

05 Aug 2020 20:25:34
scouse john L8 he scored them last season got a lot more game time this season and has less goals. he should have gone at the end of last season because his never been good enough and what a time to have gone he will still go down in history as a reds legend and will all ways be loved by the fans. But his game time went down after lockdown with Minamino get more time and if we get a better wide player he will get less and his value will gone down more. And at his age he needs and deserves to be playing and that is never going to happen at Liverpool.

05 Aug 2020 20:37:00
Personally I think he’s a decent option to come off the bench, he’s never going to be a world class player, but he always gives 100% and doesn’t complain about being the understudy. You can tell that being part of the club and it’s success means something to him, that moment in the last game of the season at Anfield when he was the last man on the pitch looking at the Kop spoke more than a million words could. Personally, I think he gives us something that our other forwards don’t have, and that’s a physical presence if we have to go long, regrettably agricultural football is occasionally needed and he gives us that option. If he does leave though, he leaves with his head held high that not only did he contribute to the success of the club, he was loved as a cult hero. He’ll be harder to replace than a lot of people think.

05 Aug 2020 20:40:31
I think that we need another wide player, Ismaila Sarr does fit the bill, but the Shaq and Wilson would have to be sold to pay for him, also to make the space, could we get him for 25 or 30 million?

05 Aug 2020 21:22:03
Origi gives a physical presence? Really?

05 Aug 2020 20:48:02
Sell nobby Ed’s 2 then we would be looking Mbappe don’t you think.

06 Aug 2020 12:38:29
The only smokescreen will be the one John Henry is setting in front of his safe.

10 Aug 2020 01:02:01
Nonsense to say Origi can't be sold cos he scored 2 tap ins that came on a plate to him and then claim he got the winner in CL final when he scored to make 2-0 late on. To say it's great he never complains or desires to be a starter isn't a positive thing for a player who will unlikely improve if he's happy to coast along with little ambition. Whoever said Harry Kane would kill to achieve the moments origi had is laughable really when you consider a striker who's been prolific and leading the scoring charts for each season that origi has been in the league and 95% of that time he's spent not even as a starter while scoring the amount of goals each season that Kane usually notches in 1 month of that season, a player who's won the golden boot at the world cup also yet origi you claim has been the envy of Harry Kane 😂.
