Been reading Norwich want 20M For Lewis and we value him at 10M.

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed001, if you are about. What are your thoughts on jamal Lewis. Money aside, do you think he is a good option ability wise for lb cover.

{Ed001's Note - always looks decent whenever I see him play, one of the better options if you ask me.}

05 Aug 2020 19:29:57
Ed001, we discussed the possibility of Lewis a week ago, before this speculation about our link to him came up. We both agreed then that it would be a good move.

He looks a good young player, and while I think he'd be out of his depth at Liverpool there, he has also played on the left wing.

Sparkywonderdog hit the nail on the head again.

this could be another good value signing for Liverpool, Jamel Lewis is 22yrs old, tallish, great pace and very good crosser, he is an international,
I have heard that Norwich want more than 10 million, but they have asked about our own left back Yasser Larouci, so a deal could be done,
also heard that Jamel has returned home early from his holiday . in case something happens, it would be a big move for him,
I think that he could if he came, he would improve greatly .

ed001 I would love us to get Lewis every time I watched Norwich I thought he had a decent game thought he looked better than Max Aarons, Everybody seems raves about him all the time. if we did get him that would be 4 great full backs on the books and with all the running they do they could do with more rest than they get. And I hope it will keep Joe Gomez from playing full back every time he plays there I think his going to get a bad injury. ed what are your thoughts on Diego Carlos I have not seen him play just watched his season highlights on youtube and there seems to be loads of last second sliding tackles what for me seems to say there out of position I can't remember VVD making hardly any all season. As they said in days past before the pitches of today you could tell the best defenders by how clean there strip was.

{Ed001's Note - I have not seen a lot of Carlos sorry.}

Give them £15 mill and Larouci and call it a day. He'd be a great signing and push both himself and Robbo to greater heights. He sounds like a top addition. Him and Mandi would be great signings. If PSG offer 50M for Matip, I'd take it and use it for a nice top player like Havertz and promote one of the young lads to 4th CB. Maybe sell Grujic, Shaq, Woodburn, Wilson and possibly Origi.

I love how much that dog hates the fat kid 😂 and throwing out a few non cryptic tweets saves time not having to solve them! Cheers sparkys owner.

05 Aug 2020 22:25:41
Hiya lad's ok I haven't a clue about Sparkeywonderdog or how to read about his clues so can I ask did he drop a hint about Lewis coming from Norwich?

05 Aug 2020 23:06:32
Check out his latest tweets mate they couldn't be clearer, basically that fat kid from bolton has been lying again.

06 Aug 2020 00:49:04
Man, broke character to be clear on an important issue.

Fair play to him

Honestly, imo if you are betting on transfers you got a gambling addiction. Where's the fun in it.

06 Aug 2020 07:36:42
Davey the lad just reposts what he reads as his own, then if it happens he can claim he was right.

I have no idea how or why so many follow him as his success rate must be about 5%.

06 Aug 2020 09:20:04
Ahh I give up haven't a clue how to us Twitter🤦‍♂️.

06 Aug 2020 10:15:29
barry i don't have twitter either i usually just type his name into google to get his account but his tweets were,

In response to questions regarding the Fat Kid From Bolton confirming today that Norwich have accepted a £10M bid from Liverpool and granted permission for the club to talk with him, that is in fact two lies.

&

Sparky can only assume that all of the lies from the Fat Kid From Bolton somehow serve to earn him money from betting. How many Liverpool supporters placed a wager on Sancho joining next summer after the FKFB told them a pre-contract agreement was in place?

06 Aug 2020 01:06:32
Ed002 is WonderSparkyDog!

I worry about Lewis defensively Ed001. He got dropped at one point for Byram who isn't even a left back. However, as a home grown back up (for a relatively small fee in today's game) it might just be a gamble worth taking considering we don't seem to have any outstanding left backs in the academy. I guess our wing backs don't do too much defending anyway so maybe Lewis will suit playing in a better team! He's certainly no worse than Williams who will be the back up right back next season. I'm wary of how successful this move would be but i've got absolute faith in Klopp. There is no way a player would be signing without him giving the green light.

{Ed001's Note - I am pretty sure he got injured and Byram came in, Byram keeping his place after his return to fitness as Farke felt he had played well enough to keep it.}

06 Aug 2020 11:07:27
Fair enough Ed001. That is a much better thought than if he'dlost his place through bad performances. Apparently he really wants the move and it's always nice when a player really wants to be at the club.

06 Aug 2020 11:09:09
Thank you WYred this is why the teacher made me sit in the corner with a big D on my head mate🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️.

{Ed001's Note - that wasn't the only reason Connor.}

06 Aug 2020 11:46:23
Nice to have cover for all places but unless there are 11 substitutes or Robbo gets injured he won’t appear much. Someone like Milner who can cover 15 positions is far more likely to be a sub. Where’s the links to first team improvements, even if we can’t afford them at least i get some false hope!

{Ed001's Note - you do realise that this season is going to be shorter than usual? So players will need more breaks.}

06 Aug 2020 12:26:15
War machine, I believe Lewis is versatile. I'm sure he can play in a midfield 3 or on the left of a front 3 as well. I might have that wrong though and i have no idea how good he is further forward.

06 Aug 2020 18:55:33
You're correct HMB. He's played further forward and is also two footed, so if he's going to be mainly on the bench at first, no doubt the coaches will get him to be even more versatile.

06 Aug 2020 20:26:02
yes Jamel Lewis can play further forward easily, and like op says he is two footed,
he indeed pick up an injury, and Sam Byram covered him,
Jamel has around 100 games for Norwich, and I think 6 games for Northern Ireland,
he would be my first choice at cover for Left Back
the Greek lad Kostas Tsimikas would be a good option too, but I think one of the Eds mentioned that a few clubs are after him .

Watch Lewis' winning goal against Leicester. Pretty tasty.
