See shey ojo going back out on loan, don't understand that, clearly doesn't have a future a lpool, would it not make sense to cut ties and get some sort of fee for him that we can use this summer.

{Ed002's Note - Because the four interested sides only wanted him on loan.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course that makes sense, if you can get it. You going to chip in, James?
First he has to convince somebody that he's worth a fee and a longterm contract. Hopefully this season he can finally do that. Good luck to the lad.

Ed002 no new word on any more departing movement or interest? Larouci, Awoniyi, Kane, Wilson or any of the rest? Thanks again, again. :)

{Ed002's Note - Not really. Fulham were approached about Wilson but are not impressed by the asking price. Leeds think Larouci is expensive but interest remains from France. Of the four sides keen on Ojo it seems Cardiff have won out. Barcelona have asked Thiago's agents if the player would be interested in the move to play in a more DM but flexible role as their preferred choices are not available - if it seems attractive they will speak to Bayern Munich and ask to talk directly with the player. That could cause a rethink for Liverpool. Ovie Ejaria has now gone.}

If Thiago goes to Barcelona or stays at Bayern, everything is leading towards Grujic staying i think.

Ed what sort of money have we placed on wilson?

{Ed002's Note - I cannot put an exact figure on it but perhaps £20M.}

So we could we’ll see Gini staying if Barcelona sign Thiago.

Ed002, since we're on the topic of fringe players. Do you have any insight on who LFC plan on as third choice/ emergency keeper now that Lonergan has moved on? Seems like Grabara could be sold, so does that mean Kelleher is the emergency keeper while continuing to play with the U23s? I pegged Kelleher as a ready for a loan to a competitive side (Championship, Bundelsiga 2) because he seems to be at the point where his career needs those types of minutes.

Maybe we'll even see Karius stick around this year? Crazier things have happened.

{Ed002's Note - I suspect that Kelleher has the edge over Grabara and efforts are being made to sell Karius.}

The Thiago situation feels like Werner all over again.

07 Sep 2020 16:14:41
I hope you mean by rethink Ed002 that it could mean Grujic staying mate?

{Ed002's Note - Or GW not being sold.}

Why do people think Ojo isn't making it at LFC? He has raw ability - is it just an attitude that he doesn't really want to work hard enough to make it? I would be interested to know your opinion, as he was so highly rated 3-4 years ago.

I never thought of that Ed002 but then he'd be gone on a free next season.

Jeffinho, to answer your question, I don’t think he’s making it because he’s probably not good enough or consistent enough to put it bluntly. I don’t want that to sound like I’m slating him but we have a very good team and even with the youngsters there should be high expectations.

Sheyi Ojo will be 24 by the time he comes back and is available to play for Liverpool. He’s had 5 loans and not proved anything. This year he really needs to excel even to think about playing in the Premier League. Maybe he needs to find the right club. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s Liverpool, but for some reason I really want him to do well and would love to see him play for us. It’s up to him.

I think he was very well thought of as a kid because physically he developed quicker than others and looked a class above. There was even comparisons to my Uncle John from Jamaica! Ed001 is excellent with these sorts of questions, I’d like to know his thoughts on Ojo. Have you managed to see him play at all the last couple of years Ed?

{Ed001's Note - awful player to be honest Ojo. He has turned into a complete waste of talent. Quick, strong and lazy. Was dreadful in the SPFL, needs to wake up before he ends up retired by the age of 27. You only get so many chances in this game and he has wasted more than most.}

Similar thoughts to me then, what a shame with players like that. Shows how important the mental/ determination side of the game can be. He needs a touch of the Milner’s or Henderson’s about him. Hope he finds something in Cardiff.

{Ed001's Note - you only have to look at his social media to see he is another of those who believes they are already a star before actually achieving anything of note. He thinks he is a brand. Bit of a Lorus Karius vibe there sadly.}
