Hi eds,

Any updates on Karius? Any sides interested in him as of late? I assume we intend to keep Adrian, not Karius. Thank you!

{Ed002's Note - Loris Karius (G) Liverpool find him back on the doorstep and will need to find a solution - perhaps a reduced price and an early exit - CSKA and Hertha Berlin offer opportunities - does not wish to return to Turkey although there is interest from there. With Boeckx getting toward the end of his career and Roef's departure this summer already agreed Anderlecht would like him to challenge first choice Van Crombrugge but the asking price was too high and they have gone for cover in Timon Wellenreuther. There was interest from Wolves Karius would not be first choice there as they have added a player - and regular playing time is what he will be after. There was also an enquiry from Montpellier but they thought he was too expensive.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Another proper mess. isn't it Ed02.

Maybe we should lower our price to whatever a team wants to pay, and throw in a free Jurgen Klopp bobble-head for good measure. We have to try get the most we can for our players, what went on in Turkey with the lad is no fault of the clubs.

Seems like we generally price players higher than what the clubs interested valuate them to. Of cource we shouldn't let good players leave for free, but it just seems like we are very stubborn towards our own caluation of these. Players who have been placed on the transferlist already. I just wondering, how do we valuate these? Is it to keep them and scare interest off? Is it negoatiating tactics? Like we don't have any money to spend ourself, we can't expect others to splash the cash. Would FSG rather keep a unwanted player and keep paying wages etc. than deviate fro valuation a few percentages?

I don't think anyone can moan about the prices we've both received, and paid for players since Edward's arrived at the club. Trust the man that has got us some big prices for average enough players.

Thanks for the swift answer Ed, have a great day.

I find it amusing that people think we should accept any offer for one of our players whilst also saying we should pay the asking price for a player we want to buy.

Well said, Jadon Havertz. (weird name for a Liverpool fan but ok! )
It's Michael Edwards all over again. Quote a player's maximum value and stick to your guns. Still plenty of time until the transfer window closes, so no need to compromise just yet.
He knows that no club will pay our asking price for Karius or Wilson etc. But that's okay, as time ticks by they will become a solution for somebody. Eventually a deal will be made and our fringe players will depart for decent money.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if Liverpool make their purchases the last week before deadline day. Completely in contrast to how they've done their business the last few years, I know.
But, in these uncertain times it just makes sense to cut up the credit card, then calculate your income and check the bank balance before clicking the 'confirm purchase' button on that lovely new checkered black Liverpool away kit that I really want.

Klopp really hasn't made that many transfer mistakes TBF.

Would another loan move be considered do you know ed? His stock is currently as low as can be expected and we won't receive any great fee but if he somehow were to enjoy a good season we could cash in next year, . Danny ward had a good season which earned us 12 mil that we would never have got 12 months previous. Karius can't possibly lose any sort of value that he's currently not worth and he's claimed that he would rather be Liverpool reserve than a reserve for any other team so he'd know that a season on loan with another chance of 1st team games will be the last time he can perform to earn the best move possible as surely he's aware that his career depends on it. I just think selling him now at his lowest value has no benefit as his reputation can only go up with another loan. Surely clubs would be more interested to offer us a loan deal than any permanent offer. He might benefit going back to Germany and settling better as the scrutiny he's faced over a couple of seasons while in new environments has clearly ruined his confidence.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are not looking to loan players that they want to get rid of - they want to sell them and get them off the books. They are trying hard raise funds but have been struggling to find buyers.}
