Morning eds n reds

Ed2, do you see AOC being sold in this transfer window.

I like him as he offers something i little different and he seems to give 100%. But i saw stat about how many games he has actually played since joing us, boy has he been injured a lot.

What kind of fee would we expect. as he is still only 27/ 28 i think.

{Ed002's Note - I would doubt it as it would further dilute the European squad size. And it is unclear when he will return from injury.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Who's going to buy an injured player?
Ox has a contract until 2023. He's a well-liked member of the squad with a big personality, homegrown and a good player when he's fit. So I can envisage him staying until the end of his contract and then being let go, similar to Lallana and Sturridge.

We bought for £25million, we need money im sure there are teams who would be interested if they thought we would sell.

Could be that he may get less game time with our new signings.

Thought it was closer to £36m. Since his injury against Roma? Ox has just been an expensive squad player and constantly injured. Not sure how he’ll get the chance to get back to peak now unless Gini, Keira leave and Hendo is injured but if he could I’d keep him. However, if a bid came in for £30-35m would be very tempting.

Last season OX had a period where he was playing at a high level again and scoring every other game. He would be playing regularly if fully fit and starting a lot of games too. I do think at some point we have to look into moving him on just based on his injuries, him and Keita would be two midfielders I’d look to move on if the rest of them are playing at a high level come next summer. Keita has to prove something this season otherwise I’m done with him, he would have had enough chances to prove himself by then.

If I could get rid of Keita now, I would gladly do it. He offered nothing in the game against chelsea or in fact any other games he has played in for us. I think he has had enough chances to show his ability. If we needed to sell someone now, he’s be first on the list to go!

Totally agree. He was OK in the dead rubber games at the end of last season but as soon as the pressure is on he goes missing. I watched him in Germany before he came and was underwhelmed. After 62 games and 4 assists I, and an increasingly vocal corner of the support, have had enough. JK's recruitment record is amazingly good but penny for penny Keita has been a disaster. The only trouble with selling him is (and if I am wrong I would be happy to be put right by the Eds) I doubt that there is a single club in Europe that want him right now. Astonishing to think he cost more than Mo and Robbo put together! Incidentally, I haven't been on this forum for about 10 years and couldn't remember my user name or anything but best regards to the knowledgeable Eds and fellow posters. It's nice to be back on a forum that's not a bloodbath! Best wishes to all.

{Ed001's Note - welcome back, whoever you were! I totally agree on Keita, he doesn't have it nor does he seem bothered to try and get it. Such a shame as he was great before we bought him and then he just went all billy big balls.}
