Sepp van den Berg apparently close to finalising his loan back to Preston North End for next season.

I thought that was a brilliant move for him back in January and he became a starter at right back. Let's hope after a good preseason he can cement a starting role at centre back and have a season playing consistently. I think it could do wonders for his development.

Perhaps he could be ready for the first team squad at the start of the 2022/ 23 season?

I know its good for the young players to learn other positions but hope he can get the whole season at centreback next season and eventually maybe come back to take Matips spot in the squad.

The problem is Preston have a pretty decent set of centre backs but are weak at full back, I could see him playing at full back again.

Gomez started as a left back so I have no problems with Sepp playing right back for PNE next season, good luck to the lad YNWA!

So konate is firmino replacement as a defensive striker. Makes more sense now.
