A bit more noise in the press today, Tsimikas to Inter? Brighton identified a replacement for Bissouma possibly paving the way for a move to Liverpool?

Now that full stadiums has been confirmed, wouldn’t be surprised to see FSG borrow against the confirmation of that income stream now!

If we sign Bissouma I'll be over the moon. Excellent player with an exemplary injury record. An upgrade on Wijnaldum and also very versatile in that he can play almost anywhere in the midfield.

An upgrade on Gini? Bissouma has had a good year. Gini was excellent for us, the consommate professional. Obviously something happened and the last few months he was probably holding a little back and protecting himself. Imo we won't sign a player or haven't been linked to a midfielder as good as him!

Bissouma would be the far most sensible choice, he looks a quality player, disciplined, hard working, can play as a holding midfielder or box to box, good passer, quick, physically in good condition.

Id like to think LFC would have the upper hand over Arsenal on a footballing basis however agents, money, teammates and of course the twinkling lights in London could be a factor in his decision.

Great player though, some engine on him!

I think he is a big Arsenal fan though. Stenova, come on man Gini wasn’t excellent, he was good but far from one of our main players. I not sure he would have got in the first 11 if everyone was fit.

We’ve got Gini cover. Jones can step up etc.
It’s Firmino we need to be worried about. Jota covers mane and Salah but Divock isn’t good enough for how much Bobby is struggling most weeks.
We’ve Got to be looking at a Center forward before yet another midfielder surely.

Liverpoolfc8, I’m not convinced by our midfield options once we get past Henderson and Fabinho. If we put out any three from Keita, Thiago, Milner, Ox or Curtis we’d get beaten. Keita needs to be moved on as he’s injury prone, ineffective and lazy, Ox and Milner aren’t really centre midfielders (Milner is looking his years now too and Ox is far too injury prone to rely upon ) and Curtis is very inexperienced and it does show, he holds on to the ball too long, his decision making is naive and he’s not the still tactically very raw. I agree that the back up to Firmino needs looking at, but I do also think we need a centre midfielder as that’s fundamentally a critical part of Klopp’s formation and tactics.

Remember how awful we played when our midfield was stripped of Henderson and Fabinho last season.

VVVV I agree. But we’ve got to get rid of some of those players you mention if we’re not going to use them.
The one thing about Gini is he was Never ever injured. And we will miss that. But I’d get shot of Keita and Ox before bringing in yet another one, we’re not even linked with anyone that special tbh. McGinn, Bissouma, Sanchez.
Are they that much of an upgrade on Thiago Gini? I’m not so sure mate.

Yes Ed14 unfortunately there are a few players that pick the lovely lights and lifestyle as a key in there decision making.

Ed666 I agree we need a mid a good box to box style who can chip in with some goals would be nice. Bissouma appears to fit that mould. I did like the idea of a new house though ;-)

Ok its seems only me who doesn't see what others on here see in bissouma.
Of all the players mentioned my personal opinion is
1) he suits our system least atleast technically. The free midfielder in our 3 is going to be thiago.
2) does not score enough which is an actual problem from us.

Gini is gone. The real loss is his ever availability and reliability. He is always a 6-7 in terms of rating. Not brilliant, but usually acceptable.

Keita and Ox can't provide that.
Jones has some way to go.

No point getting someone not ready to start as that should be Jones' role.
So it comes down to this, are we able to rely Ox or Keita.
If not, sell 1 and get an upgrade.

Someone at least reliable.
Ability to chip in with goals would be ideal.

Otherwise, we can always play a 3-4-3, with TAA in midfield.

Unless the system is changing, we don't prioritise goals from MF.
Biss is ready made potential, proven in this league. He is no doubt hungry (unlike Naby) and will give the peripheral players a kick up the backside-Then we'll see who has the minerals and who needs flogging.
Biss makes sense on many levels, regardless of the level you might have seen at Brighton. Yes they see that but they also have a better idea of his potential/ ceiling and i imagine that is pretty high.
JK has a masterful way of getting the most out of all players imo .
