Hey eds,

Do we still hold interest in Harvey Barnes after he signed a new contract? He's not been playing much recently so maybe Leicester might be open to letting him go?

Yeah it feels like the Harvey Barnes door shut with him signing that new contract, at least for a few years. He is a very underrated and exciting player though and one that I hoped Liverpool would chase.

Depends if Leicester are open to letting him go Ed. They seem to be flirting with playing two strikers up front and wing backs at the moment which he doesn't really fit into.

Rumours are that Newcastle are going to go for him as an achievable big money signing.

{Ed002's Note - Newcastle have not made any approach for Barnes. A third party advising the club has spoken with a few clubs about player availability but they have not at this time, and the club need to make ttwo appointments before anything is firmed up over targets.}

I mean he is underrated because he doesn’t have a sexy Brazilian name. He is a 23 year old English talent who is a first teamer for Leicester. I think he doesn’t get anywhere near the recognition he deserves. I’m not sure he’s even had an England call up. If you think he’s overrated Ed 1, I personally disagree.

We want players with minimal drop in quality from first team. Know that’s hard with mane and salah but Barnes is too big a drop. Also likely to be over priced as English and signed new contract.

Spot on, Ed. Barnes is not as good as he is being made out to be and not sure why that would be surprising since we all know young English talents are overrated by the English media.
