Rumours persisting today regarding Cody Gakpo, but some now suggesting Liverpool might look to a double deal to include his team mate Ibrahim Sangaré as well.

Don't shoot the messenger; i just read too much clickbait.

{Ed0666's Note - Why would we want Gakpo he plays predominantly on the left and we have Diaz there?

Agree0 Disagree0

That would feel like Diouf and Diao part 2.

Ed's in your opinions, who is more likely to sign for LFC, Sangare or Tchouameni?

{Ed002's Note - I have no way of measuring that.
Ibrahim Sangare (DM) Newcastle are keen on the player and the interest of both Leicester and Southampton remains. The player has said that he does not wish to return to France and wants a move to England. Has been watched by a number of other PL sides including Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea who sent an ex-player to take a look at him with two scouts. PSV have no intention of selling.
Aurelien Tchouameni (DM/CM) Liverpool, Juventus, Real Madrid and Chelsea have a declared an interest in the player and have held discussions with Monaco. However, after signing Zakaria and being close to signing another midfield player, Juventus can now be discounted as they look to other lower-price midfield options to cover departures, with Monaco's financial demands being seen as significant. Real Madrid opted for Camavinga last summer and have yet to realistically exploit him - and they will concentrate on other priorities but cannot be discounted as Casemiro might leave in the summer - but again, they are smarting at the asking price and have asked Monaco to consider a deposit to secure him for a transfer next summer at an increased price. Monaco say that does not suit them. The interest from Anceslotti to have both players in his midfield has to be balanced against other transfers, and there is a good chance he may not be coach next season. Real Madrid would almost certainly look to also including one or more players in any deal - and they may yet opt to push for another instead - but don't discount them. PSG need to make significant changes to their aging midfield and have spoken with his agent, although not yet Monaco. Again, I would not discount them but they have others in mind as well. Chelsea had a creative solution in mind that would suit both clubs and will likely push for a deal. I would not rule them out. Manchester City have a list of potential Fernandinho replacements, including Tchouameni - I would not rule them out either. Other clubs including Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund have looked at him and spoken with his agent, but have not declared an interest to Monaco or they have preferred midfield targets at this time. Monaco have told clubs that they are not looking to sell for less than €100M but realistically it will be less than that. Liverpool have met with his agent and have finally declared an interest to Monaco. For Liverpool it would be a pretty much like-for-like replacement for Fabinho in midfield - but they are not looking to move him on. Barcelona would be priced out of a deal unless players would be taken in exchange as they have other plans for their money this coming summer. It is difficult to imagine any side paying the asking price. Monaco have said they won't accept a player exchange but the player has made it clear wants to move to Real Madrid but that may not be possible for cash.}

Anything on André Trindade da Costa Neto? He'll probably end up at RM or Barcelona but I'd try to get him in whilst we have quite a large South American contingent. He has a very similar style to Fab and would develop well under his tutelage.

{Ed002's Note - Andre Trindade (DM/CM) Recommended to Liverpool as Fabinho cover, but concerns that he may not yet be able to obtain a Work Permit. Barcelona would like to take him but will not have space in the squad for another EU player. Braga may offer an option.}

Thanks Ed002.

{Ed002's Note - It should have read "non-EU player".}

Not sure 666. But we have reached out for him last week itself. Now i know nothing about the player but it could only mean mane/ salah or both are not signing a new deal so we might be moving him on? But we know liverpool like to conclude there transfer work very early in the season. I think gapko is an assurance signing.
What from i have been told mane is talking to two other clubs.

{Ed0666's Note - I know MK Scouser mentions Gakpo has played more centrally this season but I still don’t see it happening mate unless Mane & Jota are leaving? Maybe I’m wrong mate and your sources are indeed spot on. The thought of Jota leaving got me kind of aroused …is that wrong? 😂

Ed, i believe he's played a lot as a striker this season. Anyway like i said, i'm just sharing a rumour on a rumour site 😅.

{Ed0666's Note - and you’re on a rumours page mate so keep those rumours coming fella. I know people that are deep rooted in the inner workings of football that tell me stuff about transfers and a lot of it doesent come to fruition not because they are BS’ing me but because transfers can break down at any given second as they are so flimsy in nature

If Taki and Div are leaving, we can afford to bring in another forward whatever happens with Mo and Mane, and if we get the right player, they can also help cover the loss for either of the big guns.
FSG are not going to buckle and pay Mo/ Mane what they want. Question is though, who is?

{Ed002's Note - So there are no youngsters coming through?}

21 May 2022 19:02:49
Ed with us finally approaching Monaco to declare our interest in Tchouameni, would we be looking at playing him as well as Fabinho then because as you say we are not looking to move Fabs on, they look to play pretty much in the same position?

{Ed002's Note - I don’t know actually. A change of formation is possible else midfield starts to close up.}

21 May 2022 23:36:10
@ed0666 our forwards usually interchange regularly throughout a game. is there any proof Gakpo can also play wide right?

{Ed0666's Note - not sure but I have sufficient proof that Jota can’t

Tchouameni strikes me as being pretty versatile. I can see him getting minutes on the right side of the midfield while Fabinho is in the lineup at the same time, while also starting in the 6 spot at other times while Fabinho is getting a rest.
