According to Paul Joyce we've turned down another bid from Bayern. We will not accept anything below £42.5m but I believe that includes add ons that will be achievable unlike 90% of Bayern's current add-ons.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think an agreement will be reached sooner rather than later.

A lot of teams playing hardball VVVV. I'm actually quite surprised that at least three more teams haven't come in for Sadio. I cannot see his goals drying up.

08 Jun 2022 12:47:52
Can’t see us selling until a replacement is in place. Hopefully things move quickly.

08 Jun 2022 12:54:12
Very few teams will want to commit on a player who's in he's 30s especially financially. Same with Salah not a lot of clubs are knocking our door despite he's contractual issues is in public domain.

08 Jun 2022 13:00:38
They want to offer silly amounts but then request double the amount for their player who is 2 or 3 years older with only 1 year on his contract.

08 Jun 2022 13:01:00
Hasn’t Diaz replaced Mane?

We need a replacement for Bobby who will get less game time next season (sadly)

08 Jun 2022 13:01:09
I agree '6 Gold Stars' - I hope things move fast but I think Bayern are willing to play hardball. I hope a couple of others come in for him as that'll push them to move faster.

@kopforever - Ronaldo just knocked in 24 goals this last season. at 38. Many clubs abroad are not stuck on the notion that the random age of 30 is a boundary to improvement or ability. Given the modern conditioning of professional athletes, the more accurate age is 35-37 and is likely to increase.

@WDW As Ed002 said numerous times, our buying Diaz is nothing to do with Mane. And as I indicated some time back, if Sadio leaves then we'll buy Nunez. I didn't think he'd leave but what can you say?! I think Carvalho will be expected to learn from Bobby. Just guessing.

08 Jun 2022 13:43:26
I think as soon as the deal for Mane is agreed we will make a bid for Darwin Nunez.

08 Jun 2022 13:49:51
Nice to see it’s not only us who try to wheel and deal in the transfer market lol.

08 Jun 2022 14:05:32
I reckon it’ll be the other way round, Alonso, I think we’ll look to secure Nunez then It’ll be a case of one in one out.

08 Jun 2022 14:20:49
The same Ronaldo who Juventus couldn't wait to get Rid? The same Ronaldo man utd fans and pundits think he's holding them back coz they need to play a certain way to suit him?

{Ed077's Note - is that the same Ronaldo that just won the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award for that Man Utd you're talking about? Or a different one?

Most of the "pundits" calling for his sale are likely the ones that didn't see the other side of 35 as a PL player let alone as a first choice player, while Ronaldo has been busy breaking records. Like he recently said, and I quote, "I don't follow records, records follow me."

08 Jun 2022 14:49:24
@kopforever Juventus didn't want to get rid of Ronaldo - Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri revealed that Ronaldo told him he would not be playing for Juventus again. Everything else is as Ed077 has said. Without Lewandowski is another performing consistently well.

08 Jun 2022 15:08:15
It seems you've completely missed Bonucci, Buffon and many Juventus players comments on Ronaldo and exactly the same happening at UTD lol.

08 Jun 2022 15:37:33
Good point Viktor. Meant we will probably get terms and fee agreed simultaneously and then strike as soon as the Mane deal is done. Either way exciting summer ahead. Midfielder wise who would you go for now? Tchouaméni to Madrid done, Bissouma looking like he is heading elsewhere. Bellingham (I know your feelings on him 😂) I still think he is class but is not going anywhere this summer and Rice priced at a ridiculous £150 Million or thereabouts. I know there are more midfielders in that position but can’t think right now of any that stand out. But that don’t mean that the cub ain’t got a long list of players to fill that void.

08 Jun 2022 15:42:08
No point worrying about has beens like Ronaldo, it's not likely we will meet him in Europe.

08 Jun 2022 16:15:59
Mighty 😂😂.

08 Jun 2022 16:30:39
Maybe it's just me, but I could see Salah and Mané having a fair few years yet. Very disciplined lifestyle and no alcohol, the James Milner way!

Will be gutted to see Sadio go, it's a shame most people just talked about Salah contract for so long.

08 Jun 2022 17:44:50
You mean the Same sadio who was dislodged by Diaz coz can't play left forward anymore? Thx you're not running the club 🙈🙈.

08 Jun 2022 19:07:01
@kopforever - You don't seem to be able to distinguish between AGE on one hand and personality on the other.

09 Jun 2022 03:06:33
@Reynard, who started the 2021-22 season on the left hand side of the front 3 for Liverpool. Who ended the season playing the majority of games on the left hand side of the front 3?

Apparently the original plan was to buy Diaz in the upcoming window but Spurs forced us to move in January.

Who do yo think will be starting on the left hand side of the front 3 for the 2022-23 season and where will Mane be?

Up until Christmas Mane was the one people were suggesting we move on at the end of the season. If Firmino hadn’t been injured so much it is debatable how much game time Sadio would have got in the second part of the season.
I suspect that, with all due respect to yourself and Ed02, the presence of Diaz on the left and the absence who played in that position for a number of tears previously woul suggest that the one has, in fact, replaced the other.
