Hi Ed, I think we previously had interest in Cornet. Is that interest completely gone. Also is Tsimikas likely to stay and play backup to Robbo again.

{Ed002's Note - Kostas Tsimikas (LB) Liverpool see him as a makeweight and are tring to use him to reduce the cash value of contracts. Maybe Adam Lewis or Beck have a chance.}

Agree0 Disagree0

How does being a makeweight work Ed002?

{Ed002's Note - A replacement for cash - so £10M plus KS equals £18M.}

24 Jun 2022 20:54:38
I'm completely lost on this one! Are we keeping kostas? Love him.

24 Jun 2022 20:50:01
Ah ok thanks Ed002.

24 Jun 2022 21:04:58
Adam Lewis just went on loan to league 2 ed002 so he is not even close to being good enough am afraid.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool need to get rid of all of the youngsters if they are not good enough.}

24 Jun 2022 21:52:00
I love him as well Marty but I think what Ed002 is saying is that Kostas maybe included in any future player deal to make up for cash but please tell me if I'm wrong.

24 Jun 2022 21:19:47
Who might we want to use a makeweight for Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Anone.}

24 Jun 2022 21:35:33
well we just sent him on loan to league 2. so maybe Owen beck can step up :)

24 Jun 2022 23:15:45
He is by far better in the final 3rs than Robbo. He's decent all round to be fair. Got to be worth 25 mil.

I have great time for Kostas.

The thing is - as we have seen with Div and Taki - there is no point in keeping players, or at last players who have ambitions to play regularly, if they aren’t going to get regular game time for us.

Look at our options at left back. We have Robbo, Tsimi, Owen Beck and Adam Lewis and there are probably another two or three working their way through the youth ranks. basically we need two players who specialise in the position and a more ‘all rounder’ who can cover if both first and second choice are injured. We have at least four players who can fill the role. At what point does Tsimi’s (like Taki’s) patience run out.

Look at the options at right back. We have TAA (at 23 probably the best in the world who will only improve to new levels over the next 4 or 5 years) . Ramsay, who most people who have seen him (and quite a lot who haven’t) think is the best thing since sliced bread, Neco Williams, Conor Bradley, Sepp Van den Berg, Joe G (as the all rounder) . Again we need two with the all-rounder as back-up.

Whilst it is great that we have so many options there are probably better options for those who aren’t going to be regulars at Liverpool. If we can make money money and also help youngsters onto a better career path then I’m very happy with that.

In all fairness West Derby, I don't think you can just list all the players at the club and call them genuine options. Robbo and tsimakas are our left backs, trent and maybe Ramsey now right backs. Joe is a cb, who can play there, if klopp keeps him even, nico will likely leave, sepp the same and will likely go on loan again (before being sold in a few years) . And the rest might get a game in the league Cup, there's only so many places on the bench, we've a big squad so it won't be often a young left or right back will be on it to get mins when you have players like milner, he do, Joe who you trust to cover.

Thing will other clubs is they rotate more then Klopp.
Most clubs would have given Robbo more breaks and tsimikas more minutes he is that good as a replacement.
The only irk I have about Klopp is other then his preffered set of 15 16 players we don’t see rotation as much as we should. In terms of substitution and starts.
Taxi OX divo and tsimikas are most impacted by this and I think they all should leave for more regular playing minutes. Or if they are happy collect medals and paycheck with less play time.

Kostas is going nowhere this summer folks - nothing to see here.

25 Jun 2022 09:27:49
You can’t just sell every player who isn’t playing 30+ games a season. Kostas seems really happy at the club. I doubt we value him at £8m as Ed suggested. Outrageous figures.

25 Jun 2022 09:30:33
Kostas is a great player, he hardly gets game time because of Robbo, but Kostas is a much better the crosser of the ball than Robertson. Robertson is a low across the ground but Kostas is more higher up and direct. Defending and tracking back is where Robertson is beats Kostas outright

Love him to stay longer at the club.

Kostas will get more starts this season.
