I think with the sheer volume of games and now with the extra games in champions league for the teams in Europe I think it’s a must having 2 players for every position and if Diaz leaves which looks likely I think Gordon would be a great replacement I can see the appeal and similarities between him and Diaz .
I would like to see us still want another forward for the right in addition to whatever happens with Diaz.

Gordon is a better finisher than Diaz and probably a bit less predictable.
Diaz has lost some energy since his big injury.

Diaz might be great at taking on players and has amazing speed, but what good ia it if the end product is not there?
I still like him as a player but I'd rather someone with a better eye for goals. Between Diaz and Darwin, it's too many chances squandered when both of them start.

Gakpo can play on the left, Nunez can play on the left, Jota can play on the left, Gordon can roll around on the floor on the left . Let's not buy Gordon!

Personally I don’t want Gordon. He can run pretty quickly. To me that seems to be the only string to his bow. With what we currently have and assuming we play 4 3 3 (which isn’t a given) I’d have Cody left, Mo right and probably Jota just ahead of Nunez in the middle. Jota is the better finisher, Nunez ‘causes chaos’. Neither is totally convincing to lead the attack.

Gordon hit double figures for goals and assists last season in the premier league. 21 goal involvements for a winger in England is very good - let’s not forget he’s only 23.
Who else in the prem is putting up those kind of numbers and is attainable?
Don’t get wrong he wound me up when Liverpool played Newcastle with his theatrics and trying to get Trent booked.
However, maybe we need a few more players who have that desire to win?
Madrid have had those dark arts players for as long as I can remember. City have them too (Rodri, Bernardo Silva) .

Slot has said himself that he doesn't play fixed positions when attacking, only when defending so he definitely doesn't see Gakpo as an out and out left sided attacker (unless that is why he wants Gordon because he doesn't think Gakpo can work in his fluid system? )

while I don't think we need Gordon, he is a better player then Diaz end of. he has better end product which is what counts is younger so has more upside, and being a Liverpool fan helps. + he can play across the front line if needed if it happens I wouldn't be upset, you move on a player who doesn't want to play here and you refresh the left side with a younger better lad
Attackers - Salah, Nunez, Gakpo, Jota, Gordon, Danns is a good list to choose from.

Gordon has plenty of time to develop, is homegrown and is less likely to be pushing for a move in 3 years. He makes sense on many levels.

In terms of output in the PL Gordon and Diaz very similar. But Gordon has played most of his games fighting relegation not playing for the prizes. No disrespect to Everton intended. I don't see that we need another left sided player even if Diaz leaves but I'd be happy with Gordon. I see him as more aggressive than Diaz, probably quicker and a better end product.
