Hi eds, what are your thoughts on the Darwin Nunez incident with the Colombian fans? Could he face a ban? If so, would Liverpool consider entering the transfer market for a striker, possibly targeting Osimhen since Napoli wants to sell?
{Ed002's Note - Osimhen is not moving to Liverpool.}

Nunez done what any man, woman or alien would do, he reacted to protect his family! Look in his eyes on the pic of him and his small son, he looks relieved, scared, worried, shocked, all the emotions of a dad who has had to do what it takes to protect his boy!
No punishment will come his way, because punishment is for people who do something wrong.

Mountains out of molehills. If anything he was the one who was assaulted by some drunken hooligans.

Exactly he did what anyone else would have done, they can't punish him for that.

Nunez Nunez Nunez! Protecting his family, proper Dad ??.

I too agree that Nunez (from the wider videos rather than the edited snapshots being more widely shared) did the right thing and there'll likely be no meaningful sanctions.
However, let's consider the fantasy situation where Darwin was banned for 8 months (which is what Cantona got for a far more serious incident) . In what world does a club buy a £100m+ player as cover for one who is out for a lot of the season?
Just madness, schools must be out already!

Adrian Mutu.
His treatment fits Zeds description but obviously inflation has to be taken into account.

Good point on Mutu, Ron, but he took drugs, not defend his family, IIRC.

From what I can see the authorities inside the ground are the ones at fault, allowing juiced up Columbians anywhere near children and family of Uraguyan footballers after a very important football match was always going to provocative, in the same way as mixing away supporters in the home end not good.

Darwin will be fine
True to form he missed with 3 of the 5 attempts he tried.
