Hi ed 2 we appear to have sold lots of youngsters and bajetic might be going out on loan. Are we looking to sign a midfielder and defender, I know you've mentioned we have interest in Varela and Inacio and are we in talks with their clubs currently to replace the outgoing players?

If Rabiot is the best our recruitment team can come up with then they should all resign. Sending Bajcetic on loan to make way for him ranks up there with some of the worst business we would ever have done.

Alan Varela (DM) Barcelona may offer a profit to Porto and a player in exchange. PSG interest went when Neves moved. An option for Manchester City to replace Phillips, but not first choice although they have spoken with Porto. Bayern Munich consider him an option to replace Kimmich. Liverpool are following up on several scouting missions to see if something can be done. Chelsea sent scouts but no more. Dortmund will not match his buy out clause. Don't rule out Arsenal. Porto has no interest in selling the player who only joined them in the summer of 2023 unless someone offered his buy out clause in a single payment, then the player will be consulted.}

I wonder if everyone saying how poor Rabiot has ever seen him play really. Not saying I watch him, like most I'm lucky if the Mrs let's me watch Liverpool games never mind other random leagues. He's got experience is as much as I know. Sending bajcetic on loan might be so he plays week in week out what he needs.

We’ve gone from only MZ and only that “profile of midfielder will do” to “**** it, any old midfielder will do”.
Desperate stuff. You’d think we’d learn from the mess of signing players like Arthur, Balotelli, Kabak etc. Same mistakes over and over again.

Lots of people think he’s a very good player, which is no doubt reflected in the high wage expectations of him and his representatives and why he’s played at the level he has for years. He should suit our style, but wouldn’t know how many good years we’d get out of him given the intensity in the prem.

Rabiot isn't a bad player but he's asking for more than Salah, it would be crazy to make a new signing out biggest earner especially when we don't know how he would fit in.
Personally he's not worth the massive salary commitment.

The only times I’ve taboos is in champs league matches and the odd French national game and can’t say he’s ever really impressed me, if his wages are anywhere over 150 grand a week it’s a no from me.

Rabiot has a bad rep because his mother kicked up a lot of fuss in the past, based around his playing time and position when he was first coming through at PSG. Then, he asked to be removed off the french 2018 world cup reserve list after he didn't make the squad, which made him the no.1 target of the French media. Ever since then he's been smeared a lot in their press, which has really hurt public opinion on his ability. I would hope that we, as supporters of a club from Liverpool of all UK cities, would know to take this type of thing with a pinch of salt.

If we’ve been interested in Rabiot on and off for 2 or 3 years I’m fairly certain it wouldn’t be a panic buy - mor a case of what I saying the other day that ‘panic’ actually means ‘I don’t think he’s a good player’ from people whose opinion counts for zilch (at least with the club) .

Rabiot is a strange player, all Liverpool fans seem to make out he’s some shocking player who is useless but he’s been a mainstay in a very successful French team and a regular in a strong PSG and Juve side, how can someone so successful and so good be so universally disliked by our fans?
