Ed’s what’s your gut saying on the 3 of trend VVD and Salah with regards to contracts vs what do you THINK we should do?
{Ed002's Note - I think that Liverpool should have found out their intentions and dealt with the contracts before the transfer window opened. I suspect that Alexander-Arnold will be attracted by a move to Real Madrid. Salah could potentially run down his contract and look to the Middle East next summer - I think it will largely depend on what financial demands he has to renew at Liverpool; but they will continue to look for a replacement. I expect van Dijk to renew if financial demands are met.}

I do appreciate your input ed02 but I don't agree with much of what you've said there. As a local lad I think Trent will not be lured by Real when he will probably captain his ho hometown club and have a chance to win everything with us still. Salah and Virgil too competitive to go to a retirement league at this stage and seem to want to stay. Obviously the club will have to offer them what they want or close to it but I think all 3 will stay. I'm not an exoert by any means but reading between the lines with all 3 I think that's what will happen if the club want to keep them, which I hope they do.

You can never be 100% sure until signing but club and players feel likely all 3 will renew. Mo and Virg on c2 year deals and Trent longer and paid as one of top players at club.

I have the same opinion on this as ed. The club should have sorted this months ago and lessons must be learnt. WDW this is a banter/ rumours site, if you don’t like it don’t comment.

Hi Ed, I understand if you won't indulge me with this one, but worth asking.
Has the club made any real effort to renew Trent in the past 12 months? I can understand them allowing Salah and van Dijk to run into the last year of their contract on account of their age (although I think they both still have plenty to offer), but Trent is 25.
It would appear to be a major blunder from the club to allow his contract enter its last 12 months in this manner.

Yes the club should've got it sorted sooner but I'd imagine after Klopp announced his departure, and the changes at senior management level, that VVD, Mo and Trent would've wanted to see how things were under the new structure before signing.

@Mark, are you saying people should only post if they agree with the post in question? You and the Ed and anybody else, including me, are entitled to your / their / my opinion. Just because you agree with someone doesn’t make it right, per se, and equally, just because I disagree doesn’t make my opinion right either. That’s the fun of it all. In this instance it isn’t so much an opinion about contracts, even though I disagree with you, it is more about the tedious repetition that Hughes is a ‘bad thing’. It may or may not be a valid point of view but just saying the same negative thing repeatedly is actually detracting from any point of view that you are trying to make.
