Hi Eds, Gyökeres continues to impress and is again scoring relentlessly for Sporting. He's destined for a move summer 25, and i understand it's a €100 release clause, but are Liverpool one of the interested clubs? I feel a number 9 is needed. Nunez with all the will in the world will never hit the goals we expect, and Jota i don't see as an out and out number 9. This summer i thought a holding midfield was a priority, but thank god we didn't as Gravenberch has took to it like a duck to water.
I still feel a CB would be a good addition, but i can't help but look at our strikers and feel we need improvements in that area.
Can you shed some light on the Gyökeres situation?
{Ed002's Note - Viktor Gyokeres (S) After only joining in 2023 Sporting have no interest in selling but fear a club could simply pay his €100M buy out clause in full and try to persuade him to move. Sporting fear Chelasea may do that and have avoided the subject during discussions over another player and a separate issue - and whilst Chelsea has a preferred option he is proving difficult to sign. He has attracted scouts representing Manchester United, Spurs and Arsenal with Spurs showing an interest. A wildcard would be PSG, but again, not first choice. Sporting are looking to a new contract and an increase in his buy-out clause.}

Writing off Nunez to sign an older player with worse numbers (compared to Nunez in the same league) from the portugese league for 20 million more. I for one think Nunez is a better player and Will prove it this season.

Much rather keep Nunez. At his best (admittedly we have only seen glimpses) he is unplayable and even when not playing his best he occupies defenders and causes so much havoc that others get chances just because he is on the pitch. Combine that with the effort and hunger he has shown to defend when on the pitch this season and there is no way I'd get rid of him. You can't even knock his goal tally this season - 1 start, 1 goal.
It feels like the anti-Gravenberch brigade have had to move their focus back onto Nunez because Grav is playing so well.

We already have the best centre forward in the Premier, would HaHa Land have scored that goal on Saturday no way! why?
"Darth" scored it with his Weaker foot! and made it from his own header in our half. HaHa Land would not be a prolific scorer for any other team in the Premier, in fact if Darth played for Moan City he would even better HaHa Lands tallys, cos a Striker is only as good as his Supplier!
Don't know if anyone has seen the "classified" video of Jurgens Final Guard of Honour, Jurgen performed the task twice, try and guess who the only LFC player was not to clap any time Jurgen performed his Guard of Honour twice = Darth Nunez he has his hands clasped behind his back on both occasions, why they never seen eye to eye is anyone's guess!
He will only flourish now as players play better if they are loved and appreciated by the manager, is that what Arne often says about his new long LFC career with reference to " am learning something new here, every day". Had he been on the Tour of the USA, he would have started at Ipswich.
I have no doubts whatsoever he will at least "equal" the other most Exceptional Uruyguyan world class striker, who is for me the best forward I have ever seen at LFC ever, as he was absolutely out of this World =Luis Suarez (Imagine Luis and Darth as a gruesome twosome! )
P. S. Try and guess who never clapped his "Worldie" goal on Saturday? and not even Twice!

Bjcd104 and Im being very serious here. What makes you think Gyokeres will hit the heights in the PL esp. since the Portuguese league is the one Darwin crushed to get his move to LFC?
Do you not think that since according to you since Darwin will not be clinical in the PL, Gyokeres could also struggle to be clinical cos he will be literally coming from the same league Darwin thrived at earlier?
{Ed025's Note - you are guessing Oli, different players will react differently to other leagues mate and Gyokeres has experience in English football even though it was the second tier, dont try and compare apples with oranges..
