Omar Marmoush talks for next summer. Fee between 50-60 million Euro.

Looking to agree a deal in advance.

Peace.

Who's off then, i wonder. Having him and Mo together for a few years could be nice.

I was going to ask the eds yesterday if we had serious interest in marmoush, and would keeping mo around for a year or two help him settle and hopefully persuade him to choose us over several other teams allegedly interested. Only seen him play once to be honest but rave reviews about the lad. I'd let jota go and get him in.

Maybe it’s being finalised by the Qatari consortium that was going to buy Liverpool in January 6timessofar, another gem you came out with.

If he comes, Jota is the most likely to go, he is not a RW. A ST or LW. And a very very good one at that.

Right footed left winger - join the queue mate.

As I see it, the OP must be right about this because he signed off "Peace".

Vango if I was a betting man I’d put my dough on Darwin being sold ??. Love his industry and willingness but he’s just not a PL / CL 20 plus goals a season forward - summed up by another 1 on 1 catastrophic miss last week against Villa. Slot has shown he’s prepared to be ruthless and his patience will run out with Nunez.

15 Nov 2024 05:30:01
The worst miss was the header - 3 or 4 yards out, no defenders near him, goalkeeper out of position and tried to place it. It is the half second that he thinks about what he’s going to do that let's him down.

Schultzy-Think you may well be right. Im not convinced that composure, footballing intelligence and calmness under pressure can be entrained.
Darwin has still not learned the language, and whilst some will say nor did Bobby, Bobby could have sppken ancient greek for all anyone cares, he did his talking on the pitch, and found other ways to communicate with team mates.

Darwin is surely still worth 40/ 50m considering where he finished in the league table of strikers across the top 5 leagues last season.

Jota is injury prone, he’s not getting any younger and he doesn’t have a long-term deal at Anfield. There’s no escaping that.

His current deal expires in two years and there’s been no talk of a new one. He’ll want a pay rise given his importance to the team but can Liverpool really sign off on an improved deal given his age and injury record? He isn’t exactly reliable.

Then there’s Darwin.

He’s stepped up in the absence of Jota over recent weeks but the fact he’s into his third season with the club and still not a guaranteed starter cannot be overlooked. He scored a goal against Aston Villa but then missed two big chances.

He isn’t exactly reliable either, just in a different way altogether to Jota, and with Slot craving control and consistency, there’s an argument that the No. 9 is the antithesis of this.

15 Nov 2024 20:47:17
Neither Jota or Nunez are really up to the job. It looks like that the medium to long term with the lads through the Academy system is pretty promising but we need (and I’m going to hate myself for saying this) a replacement for Bobby. He would have been ideal in the current way the team is set up.

All players miss chances. I’m not going to pile on him for that. In some respects it’s the nature of the misses, it’s a bit “Cisse-esque”.

Cisse was an expensive signing, much heralded for shooting fish in a barrel in France.
His technique was poor and he was often off side.
He ran around, he had express pace and occasionally scored a “worldy” - a few volleys and overhead kicks spring to mind.

Put him 5 yards clear with only the keeper to beat he would usually lace it into row Z. A complete contrast to a player like Michael Owen. Ice cold in the box or a 1-on-1 situation.

I want Nunez to do well, I can’t help but cheer for players who put in 100% no matter what the situation.
But his game has not improved, he’s still running offside a lot and is too frantic in easy goal scoring positions.

I know he cost a lot and we want to see more. Money aside I think he’s a great squad player for another 12 months, off the bench and to come in when other players are out.

Regarding a comment earlier about composure in front of goal not really something that can be taught, that is usually the case. But there have been some exceptions, Thierry Henry was a rapid winger who lacked composure, wenger took a chance and we all know how that turned out.
