I don't claim to be in the know, but I am hearing there will be no incomings this month.
I have fairly strong connections to the LFC women's set up, and it is through these that I heard this.
Don't have any idea how they would know, but I'm sharing the info anyway.
06 Jan 2025 14:31:35
I am telling you now categorically there will be incomings.
06 Jan 2025 14:35:11
I believe this rumour. I don't think there will be any incoming players. Hopefully wrong of course but just can't see it.
Thanks for sharing mate.

There won’t be any incomings. That’s three windows on the bounce where we’ve done nothing. Not that I’m surprised. When we needed a centre back in 20/ 21 we didn’t act until the very end of the window and our title challenge was gone. Even less chance of it now. Best hope that Gravenberch doesn’t get fatigue or injury, as we are very thin on quality in midfield beyond our starters.

The only solution is FSG/ Henry and TAA all go ASAP.

Buying players in January is difficult for most clubs never mind Liverpools shambolic transfer committee.
06 Jan 2025 15:53:38
That’s obviously likely to be the case. Slot only really uses 4 midfielders, if the inevitable happens and one gets injured it means the others will be over played as happened last year. Hopefully Slot will rest as many as possible for Forest. I would send VVD, Salah and Grav on hols for a week.

If we don’t strengthen this window, then the club is being run by idiots. I say this as I still don’t believe we have strong enough team to challenge in four fronts. Curtis jones, together with Trent, was invisible against man Ure, and has a habit of disappearing in big games. Tslobo is injury prone, only Macca and gberch are I believe are playing at a decent level. Elliot has been coming on as a sub most times, so it’s clear our midfield alone isn’t really that strong depthwise. Then you have our back four…. robbo is becoming a liability and Trent clearly isn’t all there, especially after his abysmal showing yesterday. Personally I think Bradley Made an impact when he come on but quansah and Gomez aren’t anywhere near the level of konate and vvd. So there are some holes to fill that need filling especially if we want to challenge on all fronts. The first thing to do would be to sort out the contract issue for salah, vvd and Trent but out of the 3, I would prioritise salah and vvd over Trent. I think they are more important to the team. I think if Trent was to go, we would still cope and have a great replacement for him in Connor Bradley. But I do think we need to buy another cb who can also play lb, and a midfielder. I think upfront we are well stocked, and wait till the summer to buy a new forward and sell on Nunez.

Just say it how it is, clee - it's hughes' fault. Let Rigsby know. ?.
06 Jan 2025 16:59:59
no spend equals the end.
06 Jan 2025 17:46:08
Was it really 2021 we last signed a defender? ?.
07 Jan 2025 00:15:48
Shambolic is a strong word, Salah, but if you feel that strongly why not use it, mate?
Six days in and no shiny new toys so I can understand yours coming out of the pram.
Richard may prove to be Hughes-less (see what I did there? ) and you may be judging him after half a season in the job but I remember the part he played in the appointment of Arne Slot.
You can choose to ignore that and be led to believe that it was all down to Edwards but I'll stick to facts and reason whilst enjoying your vendetta against a man you know hardly anything about.
07 Jan 2025 02:17:17
Vendetta? there's certainly no vendetta Rigsby mate, don't flatter yourself. I just disagree with almost everything you say. Simple as, we can't agree with everything everyone says lol. Vendetta ? good one mate.
Regarding Slot, if Hughes had a part to play in appointing him then sure he deserves credit for it but what's his job? his job is to handle the transfers. What transfers did he handle in summer that were relevant? I don't throw my toys out of the pram over such matters mate, still very early in the month and I believe we won't be signing anybody, if we do? great if we don't? it's expected no big deal - we're talking about Hughes here.
You support him, I don't. That's as simple as it gets. I really hope you can prove to be right on him and he turns out excellent for us, who knows? it's a possibility but I just don't see it at all.
07 Jan 2025 07:46:48
Your vendetta is against Hughes not me, Salah ?.
I used the word 'vendetta' to get a reaction out of you. It's like using the word 'shambolic'.
I've no loyalty to Hughes; I don't know much about him but he doesn't deserve the stick he gets; not yet anyway. If it's all about transfers what shiny new toys did you not get?
Which ones did you want that would have improved us?
Out of interest, why don't you support our sporting director, Salah? He works for the club that you support but you don't support him even though you know very little about him? And you admit that he hasn't even had chance to prove himself?
Best of all though is, your username when Richard Hughes advised Michael Edwards and Liverpool on the signing of Mohamed Salah, Salah ?.
07 Jan 2025 11:55:44
I've said why I don't support him many times and you've heard it many times, Rigsby.
No vendetta against Hughes either mate lol I just don't think he's very good at his job and I include his time at Bournemouth in that as well.
You say you have no loyalty to him, what a load of nonsense that is ? good try though ? almost every single day you are commenting somewhere praising him for things he hasn't even done.
Who signed Salah and who appointed Slot, Rigsby? was it Hughes or am I missing something? genuinly interested because all I can see is he made recommendations which again, anybody can do especially if you're in the know and in that type of position where your identifying talent it'd be kind of crazy to not recommend a player like Salah would it not? anybody in his shoes would be doing the same.
Was Hughes part of Liverpool mate when Salah was brought in or when Slot was appointed?
You have nothing to go on you're just trying to convince yourself he's going to be good for us and that's absolutely fine but you can't be acting like he's gods gift when his job is to recruit new talent and he's recruited none yet. When he ends up leaving the club we take a look at what he's done.
07 Jan 2025 13:20:14
So when he leaves the club we take a look at what he's done? You said you don't support him and you don't rate him now.
You say he didn't do a good job at Bournemouth. How are Bournemouth doing since he left the club? You know, when you like to judge someone? Hughes bought players for Bournemouth that made they made big profits on. I've named them before and they are not hard to find.
Anyone could have recommended Salah, Salah. But they didn't. Hughes recommended him and Alisson to Edwards even though he was at Bournemouth. I think Salah was unlikely to sign for Bournemouth, Salah.
Hughes was serving his time at Bournemouth when he was tasked with looking for Klopp's successor. He met Slot in April when all the talk was about Amorim. Obviously, it wasn't just down to Hughes as it wasn't just down to Edwards.
If you don't believe me about the part Hughes played then take it from Slot himself. He said 'Richard wanted Liverpool to bring me in'.
Now, your turn, Salah.
What shiny new toys didn't you get in the summer that would have improved us?
Is it ok to judge them even though they are not even at the club nevermind after they have the left the club? ?.
07 Jan 2025 14:24:08
We're going around in circles here mate and I don't have the time for it or interest. Petty at it's finest trying to convince people he's doing well when the vast majority can see he's done nothing lol. Stick to your guns though mate, you don't see it how many others do so that's fine. I'm sure you're on Hughes' Christmas card list mate ??.
07 Jan 2025 14:33:48
Get a room salah and rigsby!
07 Jan 2025 15:08:08
I'm not trying to convince you that Hughes is doing a good job, Salah.
It's too early to say.
I'm asking you to convince me how he's doing a bad job and how he did a bad job at Bournemouth.
It's fine if you can't or you don't want to and, as always, I appreciate the exchange of views and banter.
