Stefanos Tsimaz has just joined Brighton, for £20 million. I know we were heavily linked, with Macca being the first to mention him, but I guess we didn't feel it necessary or a priority. Seems a decent player, and Brighton tend to get it right with recruitment, so will be interested to see how he gets on.
Will be interesting to see how we operate from now till the end of the season. Arsenal look ready for a big push till the end, and I suspect the points difference will be tight, yet again. Makes for great viewing for the neutral, but my god is it nerve wracking.

Keep calm and keep doing what we’re doing. Arsenal can have their ‘big push’, City might rediscover some form, Forest may go on an unbeaten run. Its all irrelevant if we continue our form. We have momentum, form and an excellent almost-fully fit squad. We can only defeat ourselves at this point.

Maybe we are getting Joao Pedro who Tsimaz is replacing.

City and Forest can’t possibly win the league. Arsenal seem to have easier fixtures and might be able to get to 88 points if they really step up.

If it happens Tsimaz is coming in to replace Ferguson who is going to West Ham.

After yesterday I think Arsenal will run us right to the end. Was hoping they would fade away but I have my eye on that game we have against them as crucial as I think we will drop more points than them over the next 7/ 8 games.

Forest are 3 points behind Arsenal, Markp08. Are you suggesting that we should book the victory parade if Arteta’s lot lose another game?

Bloom's StarLizard doesn't seem to miss. Will be interesting to see how the kid does.

Ah sure. he was only a 2nd division german player, not nearly good enough for us. Wait till ye see the same people who said he was crap demand we buy him next summer?.

With players like this we have to admit they may become world class but in most cases they are not good enough to get the game time at Liverpool that they need to develop into those quality players and that is why the clubs like Brighton can sign these players "on the cheap".
They can give them the game time, develop them into quality players and sell them for a huge profit. That is why the multi club setup is such a good system. If FSG owned a club that can sign these players, give them the game time and develop them before moving them on to Liverpool (or in some cases signing them and loaning them out to a sister club with guaranteed game time) it is a much better approach.

I cannot believe people are still referencing Pedro as a Liverpool level player. He’s a 9 who can’t lead the line, doesn’t track back, throws his hands up in frustration at his teammates and has very suspect temperament.
I know people love a signing but we are Liverpool, we are significantly better than Pedro.

I'd rather spend any money on 3. Ew contracts than on new players. Happy for this to be a quiet one (again)

Your FSG's dream fan Brommer.

Yes Florian, someone who supports the team. That’s what being a Liverpool fan is about.

We all want to sign these players before they're worth huge money but how do you strike that balance of giving them enough game time to develop to that level whilst also staying competitive? Brighton do the first part well but they're always mid table. Maybe that's where the multi club model is useful.
03 Feb 2025 14:46:40
I think one of the Eds mentioned that Brighton are able to sign these players because they are seen as a stepping stone club by players. It's a win-win to me. Brighton can remain competitive and maybe qualify for Europe for the odd season and these players can then go on to play for bigger clubs. If this continues and they can qualify for Europe regularly, they'd be seen as a destination club by a few and maybe these players would stay longer. It's slow progress but it's still progress nonetheless.

Yep I reckon so DE, if Arsenal drop 3 points before we play them it’s done imo. They have a very favourable run though.

@Why You say Pedro has scored 9 - how many has Darwin scored?
04 Feb 2025 12:11:19
Less. He’s also played less games and is our fifth choice forward. What you’ve done is conflated Darwin having a poor season with Pedro scoring 9 goals.
Darwin has a better g/ a than Bobby, but that doesn’t matter right?
But the issue is we’d be buying a player who doesn’t fit our style, has a suspect temperament, would cost well over £60m and doesn’t move the needle. I suspect you’d like to sign him because when we do he can be someone else you moan about. All this advocacy for him will be forgotten and you can climb on your hobby horse and have a good old public cry.
