It seems Darwin knows he is leaving at end of season and maybe his destination also. he seems to have stopped running and trying in last few games.
What is your opinion lads and eds whe he seems to have thrown in the towell rather then trying to go out on a high.

It’s a pity it hasn’t worked out but some players are just not suited to the premier league and to the demands of being a title contender, Darwin has all the raw materials but perhaps not that clinical streak that top strikers need. I have no doubt he can go and thrive in another team in another league like Spain if he doesn’t get drawn to the riches of Saudi!

He's clearly not happy and its hard to motivate yourself when its ending a bit sourly. For the majority of his time here, he did give it his all and sometimes gave it a bit too much! Seems like he knows there's not much else he can do beyond that so has mentally packed it in a bit.

Yeah I think he's probably checked out knowing he's not getting any more starts this season and that he's almost certainly off in the summer.
To be fair to him, he's only started 3 games in the second half of this season - Accrington, Spurs (Carabao) and Southampton. Pretty clear Slot prefers Jota to him.

Really wanted it to work out but it looks as though he’s had every bit of confidence sucked out of him, I’d put money on him scoring for funat his next club.

If we need him at some point between now and the end of the season, then it's not ideal if the season is already over in his mind, but apart from that, if he and the club already know he's leaving, and even better if there is buyer already in mind, that's a good thing in my opinion. Get it sorted early in the summer and all parties move on.

He’ll play again this season even if he’s being sold he deserves a send off might not of worked out but it’s not for the lack of effort.

I do not think the club played to Darwin's strengths they wanted him to play in a style that did not suit his game just look on You tube how he played at Benfica and you will see the difference in his game . I hope he settles somewhere that suits his game .

The frustration is that there is clearly a player in there. His 2 goals against Newcastle were superb, and his lunacy was endearing. I just feel we didn’t factor in that he was going to struggle learning a new language, and he consequently ended up being an expensive Origi.

Darwin will probably do really well in Spain Italy and bang in double didgets league goals.
If the fella gets sold hopefully we get a decent fee and both player and club can get on to better situations.

Ed025 probably moved to Liverpool one move to early. Would have suited a mid table prem team first we he would have had longer runs in the team. But I can’t remember him ever playing 5 full games in a row and strikers need a run only got to look at Beto for you he looks so much better after a good run of games.
{Ed025's Note - you could be right there Grino. you dont get much time in this league and chances have to be put away when they appear, he has some attributes but composure is not one of them though if he went to a team like United he would probably be a superstar.. :)

The lad’s only really had a couple of standout games and they happened to be against us in the CL. Good luck to him and I hope his career kicks on but he’s had a good while to learn and adapt and he hasn’t taken the opportunity in the time he’s been with us.

Pretty much always plays well for Uruguay though. His coaches in Portugal said that his issue is mental rather than physical and it's too easy to shake his mental fortitude. They actually took his social media off him because of it.

International football, one game in a blue moon, different pace, different pressure playing for Uruguay.
Even if those things weren’t true, it’s not much use buying a player who only plays well for his country.

What’s happened is that the manager knows he's crap, the players know he’s crap, the fans know he’s crap and now so does he. Head has probably gone as he knows he’s never going to make it with us.
I can only imagine being in the dressing room after some of the chances he misses. Players must have gone past the point of even bantering him about it.
