Hi all,

Just a quick question, I have a friend who claims to have inside information regarding Trent. He claims Trent is leaving because Klopp promised him he’d play in midfield and Slot doesn’t agree with the position change. He also said he was promised captaincy. I’ve never read nor seen anything to even suggest this. Thanks :)

Doesn't make a whole heap of sense as by all accounts RM want him to play right back.

Their midfield is pretty stacked.

I can believe he wants to move to midfield, but I doubt that's his motivation for moving to Real. Even if they gave him assurances on that front, they'll have a new manager before long - this is pretty much always true - and who knows how Alonso or whoever would want to use him? Meanwhile, if he really thinks he should be captain while Big Virg is still with us, he's got a screw loose. I doubt he's so spoilt brattish that he demands that role now or he's off.

We don't really have to look very far to work out why he wants this move.

I can’t accept these conspiracy theories.
He’s going to uproot his life and move abroad just because a manager wants to play him in a different position and he’ll be in the same position for his new club.

Come on, this is nonsense.

He has a choice. Leave or stay. It’s entirely his choice.

Let’s just leave it at that. If he goes it’s not because some Scooby Doo villain at the club wants to annoy him, it’s because he wants to go.

Agree @Ron, it’s a life choice that the lad is making.

14 Apr 2025 21:19:13
No one player is bigger then the club. We will miss him and his service, but his head and pockets have obviously been turned.

14 Apr 2025 21:49:19
Ah Ron that sounds far too sensible for anyone on this site to believe!

14 Apr 2025 22:46:06
So he's moving to a club in which he'll get neither of those terms.

15 Apr 2025 01:53:51
No, at least not if the terms are fictitious.

15 Apr 2025 08:19:01
Why does there need to be an inquest into why one man wants to leave his long term job position to move to a different firm?
Trent has an opportunity to move to the most successful side in the world, and wants to test himself there. He has (misplaced) aspirations of winning the golden balls, and who can blame him?

Its time to move on and wish him the best, we have a squad to rebuild and a title to celebrate.

15 Apr 2025 08:35:23
He ain’t playing in no Madrid midfield unless Klopp is going to be manager of Madrid! .

15 Apr 2025 11:39:53
All these super fans on here wishing Trent well. he's costing us millions in a transfer fee . wait till next year when we haven't got the money to get who we need . you all will be on here moaning, we need a midfielder . a defender . a striker. deluded.

15 Apr 2025 12:45:45
Trent moving could be more to do with, we bottled signing Bellingham his buddy and Klopp going plus he's won it all here 2 prems and every cup and as long as big Virg is here he's not going to be captain so i guess he's got nothing else to achieve in terms of Liverpoool other than to leave and aquire the same status as the likes of Owen and Mcmanaman which in his mind must be weighing heavy, has to be said he has not played it well though. You get the impression had Vvd left Trent would be staying for the captains role.

15 Apr 2025 13:11:52
I'm sure he's just looking for a new chapter to enjoy in football. He probably wants to find a way to get back on the buzz of football in a new team, having won everything with Liverpool and soon to have won a second PL title. If he goes, thanks for all the hard work that's helped us to get to where we are now and good luck in your next venture.

15 Apr 2025 15:28:06
My mates son has been doing some work on Trents Ma's house and she told him he ain't happy and not to believe everything you read ?.

15 Apr 2025 18:15:16
Back on the buzz of football??must be boring as hell playing for one of the top handful of clubs on the planet which also happens to be your hometown club alright.

15 Apr 2025 20:48:18
Well this season when Madrid go out of the champions league tomorrow and then lose to Barcelona in the cup and Barcelona win the league with all the so called super stars there they will have won nothing. Am sure the last time Madrid built a Galactico side it was not that successful Figo Ronaldo zidane becham Carlos all them stars. Look at how much better psg look now. So Trent can do one over there and when it goes wrong and there fans are on his back he can realise what support he had by fans that loved him and he was not just another player that ment nothing to them.

15 Apr 2025 21:55:21
@Strom, you could take the view that Trent’s departure meant we could improve the contract offers for Mo and VVD, as his potential contract payments are no longer required. In turn that means we no longer need too shell out £ 150+ million in bringing in two new players, so on balance the loss of a transfer fee has, at least in part, meant that we save the cost of, potentially two very, very expensive signings.

It’s not about being a super fan, whatever that means, it’s about the interconnectedness of business transactions and operational costs in a £ multi-billion business.

WDW. I'm not bothered that Trent is leaving its the fact he's leaving on a free . this club have supported him since he was 6 . made him what he is but you al think he's doing US a favour, plus he's a Scouser born n bred n knows people feelings about the club more than others . as for the rest of yor comment, even Elon Musk would find that hard to de-cypher.
