Any interest in the Benfica midfielder Orkun Kokcu? Slot worked with him before he moved there. Could be what we need at a good price?

He will not be cheap at all. Very good player but he is a similar player to Mac allister but not as good.

I don't really see what he adds to the midfield mix if I am honest. He's a bit like poor man's Macca.

I’m with Patrick, he’s a less good version of MacAllister, he’s very lightweight and doesn’t improve our physicality in midfield one iota and he’s certainly not different or better than our current personnel.

What I will say is that slot made him into a completely different player than he has been outside of his time with slot, under slot he was a pressing monster who was at the heart of everything on and off the ball. At benfica he is pretty much a 10 who struggles to impose himself off the ball and is not a guaranteed starter (at least under Schmidt, I dunno about now) . Maybe slot can make him a world beater all action pivot midfielder again, he certainly loves slot.
Another thing to note though is that he refused to wear the rainbow armband, citing his faith as the reason. Also has a tendency to give interviews and criticise the coach when he isn't being picked.

I think it depends on the price. If its the quoted release clause of 120mil then no thanks. But if you are getting a versatile player of his ability, potential, and is fancied by Slot for the same amount you would sell/ sold fringe players like Elliot, Clarke, Morton, Endo/ Bacejic in midfield. Then im all for it. I've only seen bits but if we signed him I think it would be him, Macca, Szobo and Jones competing for two slots which is healthy over a long season. Grav to be the main 6/ deepest pivot with Endo or Bajcetic given him some time off when we can afford to.
