Just read we mayb linked with Benjamin Sesko. Never heard of him so yeah I YouTube him. Omg what a player. Can use both feet and can finish. Eds u know if we have any chance in him. If so I think his going to be another suarez and hit the ground running.

I actually think they are similar in ways but from what I have seen, Sesko is a little sharper with his touch and dribbling. Interesting candidate in my book.

Don't see the fuss in sesko myself. I think he'll struggle in the premier league and he's not a 20 goal a season striker. 15 maybe.

I’m a little worried with the links to some of the forwards we are after, I think the No9 role is going to be crucial in defending our title, last time out we went for raw potential in Darwin and I just hope we look for more complete striker this time out because the No9 role is unforgiving at a top level club like Liverpool and players don’t get the time to develop like they would at another! Potential here with both Darwin and Jota leaving if media are to be believed?
On the presumption that Isak is everyone’s preference but unrealistic what are people’s opinion on the other names linked?

Cunha is good enough to play for Liverpool up front. His all round game is very good compared to someone like Haaland that only really offers finishing in the box.
He is attainable and has also had a stab already at a big club at Atletico, although it didn’t work out for him, it would’ve given him a taste of what that’s like and he will have learnt from the experience you would hope.
For a team in the bottom half of the Premier League that have been generally poor this season, he’s come up with plenty of goals and assists and can also dribble and carry the ball through the lines too.
To have a player like this available with Premier League experience and proven ability, I would say it’s a no brainer. There will be a few after his signature.
Outside of cunha, the other players we are linked with from the continent such as Ekitike and Osimhen, I think pose more of a gamble being signings from outside the Premier League that have done well. You only need to look at Darwin Núñez to see that it doesn’t always work out moving to the Premier League from an easier European league. Might work but there’s more risk for me and I don’t think this is the time to take a gamble. We need to get it right this time with number 9.
We have had success in recent years signing good players (or high potential players) with Premier League experience such as VVD, Mane, Wiji, Henderson, Robbo, Jota, etc.

Cheers Ed. I remember when we went for suarez and I said his going to be so good for us. I have the same feeling about Sesko. Yeah his still young and raw but u can see his going to make it and be one of the best in the world. Got great balance. Speed. Can dribble. And never seen anyone who can use both feet as good as him. I mean the power he gets on both is ridiculous.

Of the forwards we've been linked with Cunha and Alvarez are the ones that fit best with our style of play and what we'll want out of the central player.
It would not surprise me if slot decided to move Salah into the centre as slot likes his best goalscorer in that central position as that's where he feels the best chances fall and it also preserves the player keeping him closer to the striking area as opposed to cutting in from wide.

Between Diaz, Gakpo, Jota and Mo they’d scored 75.
We have 80 league goals. That’s 14 more than Newcastle with the second most goals.
We don’t have an issue at all around goals.
So why is there a narrative that this area needs to be addressed rapidly - other than signing strikers is exciting (which I get) . If we win the league but we have an issue scoring, I’d get it. We have a +48 GD.

@Why, I get a feeling re Nunez this season from on here, it’s a case of - could of, would of, should of (hope u get me), Could have scored a bucket load, would of if more composed, Should have scored a bucket load.
So in essence, had we a no9 that was as capable as above instead this season, what do you think our tally would have been? (I know it’s ifs and buts) . That is why if rumour correct we want another no9.
We cannot rest on what we got, I want to see now if this team can become legendary like some previous teams we have had.
Congrats to ALL involved at LFC, it all aided for no 20.

Why? I never understood this, why do we always need to change? We scored 80 goals in the league. Newcastle scored 14 less and they are second top scorer.
I would recommend getting your opinions from watching games, not from here.
Nunez rarely played. Diaz and Jota did…and between the front four got 75 out of a 101 goals. Don’t focus on individuals. Focus on units. Did the attacking unit do enough…. yes it did.
If people said “we need to do better at set pieces” or “a few more from Szbobby would be good” I would understand - but we won the league at a canter and even if other sides would’ve been better, we still have a league winning total. Maybe I’m crazy, but right now we aren’t in trouble. If Darwin and Chiesa go, which is likely, I’d love Alvarez to come…. but it’s not a bad scenario as it is right now. We’re really good.

The problem is Darwin is a waste of a squad place and Jota, for different reasons is in the same boat. We are a very good squad who improved last season but nobody is sacrosanct. If we can bring in better players then so be it.

Our area of “weakness” isn’t scoring goals.
If we can replace Chiesa and Drawin with Alvarez, absolutely. But there isn’t a massive problem. There is however a very strong desire for exciting signings because it’s fun.
