Issue is he plays for Bilbao. Players don't leave that club too easy.
And not just because they make it difficult for players to leave (they do) but also because the players love themselves love the club.
He looks very good to my eye though.
{Ed001's Note - the money is of little use to Bilbao, they are probably the most cash-rich football club in the world. There is such a small pool of players for them to buy that they find it difficult to spend money on transfers.}

Bilbao are a great club though. I respect them a lot. if I could think of a opposite club to real Madrid it's them .

The whole Bilbao midfield impressed me over the two legs to be fair. Can’t say I know much else about this guy but the reports rave about his passing data being comparable to Zubi.

Athletic Bilbao spend a lot of money raiding other basque teams academies and getting 14-18yo from every corner of the Basque Country. Just ask Real Sociedad, Osasuna or Alaves supporters. No to mention other smaller basque clubs
Thats why they don't sign many well established pros:it's strange when one of those goes under their radar
The whole romantic idea about Bilbao is fat lie for foreign fans. They are actually as despised as Real Madrid by half of the basque fans.
