Ed do you know if we have interest in Cherki.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, we have been looking closely at him. Not sure if we will move for him as his tendency to not want to put the hard yards in might stand against him. A lot have been put off by that lack of work rate.}

If we cannot get Wirtz or Mastantuono, I wouldn't be against taking a risk on Rayan Cherki, if the scouts/ analysts felt he had the mentality and personality for Liverpool.

The fee would be low and if he cannot be inspired by Salah's professionalism and dedication then we can ship him out for a similar fee at the next opportunity.

His technical level is outrageous - up there with Kvara.

Worth the risk for 25 mill. Even as a squad/ impact player hats peanuts for someone of his ability. Upgrade on Elliot for sure.

13 May 2025 13:19:56
Wouldn't touch him. Looks like another keita.

13 May 2025 13:51:43
Very risky. Apparently Bayern were going buy him in January but backed out of it due to his attitude?

13 May 2025 13:51:53
Another Keita. or another Mane. You never know.

13 May 2025 13:56:56
I think it will be a mistake not to take Cherki. He's young and if BR could demand defensive duties during corners of Balotelli, I think Slot can mke him actually break a sweat for the team. The guy is glaringly quality on the ball and can understudy Salah for the next 2yrs.

13 May 2025 14:02:45
Why is he an upgrade on Elliott?

13 May 2025 14:05:41
Why is he a prick like Naby batman or just onfield like him?

13 May 2025 14:14:56
I’d take cherki I think he could be a great addition to the squad and a real game changer and working alongside salah vvd and the rest of the uber professional players might just make him kick on and if he can then you have 1 hell of a player.

13 May 2025 14:49:19
Is he really that much of an upgrade on Elliott who we at least know has the work rate, desire and a great attitude is already in house?

13 May 2025 15:22:03
If it happens you'd likely be looking at Chiesa heading out and Cherki coming in. Given the associated fee with the late together with the wage disparity, you'd like to think it would be no money lost.

However, if rumours surrounding his attitude are true is it worth potentially upsetting the dressing room. For all of Chiesa's injuries and lack lustre performances, he comes across as a very genuine lad who isn't going to cause a problem.

13 May 2025 15:42:40
He’s got some of the best creative numbers in the world. Szoboszlai runs his socks off but lacks on the creativity side. Sometimes you need a player to open a team up to win a game. Worth the punt.

13 May 2025 16:36:00
He looks an upgrade on Elliot from what I’ve seen. Mainly because as much as we all love Elliot he’s just not very good.

Great attitude and ability but very limited by his lack of physicality.

I’m not bashing Elliot I absolutely love him but if we ever have to rely on him to start a game I’m hiding behind my sofa.

13 May 2025 16:56:14
I'm not convinced he's an upgrade on Elliot. I think people are getting YouTube fever.

I watched him a fair bit this year and he's got talent but he wastes the ball so often. He reminds me much more of Antony than any other player.

13 May 2025 17:21:19
And you would rather rely on cherki? Elliott has desire, vision, excellent technique and incisive passing ability, plus a wicked shot from distance.

13 May 2025 17:51:06
I love elliot and I think he’s very good. Hopefully he gets his shot next season.

13 May 2025 19:59:42
Elliot just doesn’t fit into the side anymore. Where is he going to play?

13 May 2025 20:50:12
At anfield markp08 ?.

13 May 2025 21:52:05
Ha, hope so too.

13 May 2025 22:16:46
When LFC first signed Elliot as a 16 year old for a fee of 2.8 million with bonuses included, I thought it was to be Salah's understudy not a mid-fielder.

The last two games of the season is it worth a try playing Elliot in Salahs right wing role, and MO through the middle, to see if they could form a partnership.

{Ed025's Note - why try to fix something thats not broken 007?..

13 May 2025 22:55:27
Cherki is a class player, he has far more ability than Elliott.

However, he’s French, he’s cheap and PSG are not in for him.

Red flags aplenty.

14 May 2025 00:14:56
I’d keep Elliott as a member of the squad - the lad desperately wants to play for Liverpool - I love that.

13 May 2025 23:13:20
Surely it's worth a try ed025 for only two games, it's more to see how Elliot performs not MO, could work as a straight swap for substituting MO when games are already won, as he near enough has played 90 minutes in every game some when we have been winning handsomely, perhaps that is why he is lacklustre at the present, ramadan never done him any favours either, did he need to play the 90 minutes in virtually every game.

Playing full strength virtually to win the UCL league format, when we had already qualified to the knock out stage, turned out to do us no favours in the end, we have to learn from that next season also.

{Ed025's Note - Mo wants and expects to play every minute of every game 007 and he takes it badly if he does not, i think Elliot should play in the last couple of games myself but should be maybe replacing Grav who seems burned out, i really dont see Harvey as a forward myself mate..
