He wants Bayern. How I see it playing out - I think English clubs will make offers which will force Bayerns hand to pay a higher transfer fee and leverksuen will reluctantly agree to sell him to them.
However if he joins then great! He’d be an incredible signing.

Not seeing it happen mate, it's the Zubimendi/ Caicedo/ Bellingham we tried story all over again. We will not spend 100M+ on one player imho. You figure they have just spend 30M on Frimpong and that's the type of signings I would expect this summer.

Wirtz Szobo double 10/ false nine would be interesting to me. Help Liverpool gain more control. And create space for wide players to get in behind. Thinking not only Salah and Gakpo to attack space but players like Frimpong too. Not to mention Wirtz and in particular Szobo also. Could work well for me.

After meeting wirtz or his family/ agents last week it would be more than silly offering on a player IF he is only interested in Bayern and obviously we’d of asked the question during the meeting.

I think there’s something in this, if PB example of what Bayern response was, that he was at our gaff, then is it really 100m?
The 100m could be structured payments, we are Champions and assume that Slot has done full appraisal of the squads, then we will Strengthen…. a winning squad, thus silverware financial rewards would continue (possibly grow), which would offset the big price tag.
Technically we weren’t beaten in Europe this season (out on pens), this was done without a top #9, ok Wirtz is a false #9/ #10 but if he can find the net with regularity (more than our #9 this season) we could become more powerful than we currently are, that would be pretty frightening prospect to face imo.
The factor that’s normally given re London being chosen over LFC, is the ease to get back home to see family.
Wage expectations must be ok with the budget, why make an offer for him if he was looking for Mbappe money.

I have no doubt Richard Hughes will have been keeping tabs on the Wirtz situation. It means nothing in terms of making a deal happen but it's at least an upgrade from monitoring it. By the time Wirtz signs for City, Hughes will have watched it like a hawk.

While I don't see him signing for us, Leverkusen tend not to sell to Bayern (see Havertz for example), he has been quoted in an article as saying he'd like to play abroad one day and Bayern will not find the money with all the other things going on around contracts.
Also, Wirtz has already experienced an Anfield European night under the lights - just like Alisson Becker did before joining us.
So, there are a few shreds of hope for us.
