The whole Chiesa situation is a bit odd, he played 45 in both friendlies and scored, doesn't make the squad due to an apparent issue. Do you have any further info on this? I loved the played in euro 2021 ofcourse he's not the same player as he was but we've seen flashes. My assumption is he is close to leaving but I haven't seen any concrete links.
I've always found his situation strange as he can't be that awful in training. Your thoughts would be great.

He wanted to stay and fight for his place, surprisingly, but the club want to clear the decks of foreign players that are not going to play. Tsimikas rejecting every offer put to him has meant one space less than hoped for.}

Thats fair enough ed if your a backup option but surely if you find yourself the 3rd choice option in your position playing for a manager known for keeping injuries to a minimum its time to move on.

Four years can be a long time in football and Slot clearly doesn't fancy Chiesa.
I don't know how many times I've said this ? but Chiesa started one League game last season and we'd already won the title. And we lost that game. And and he was hooked in it.
It won't be a surprise to see him sold or loaned out.

If it’s Tsimikas’s dream to play for us and he’s happy to be third choice then let him. He’ll get the odd game here and there and who knows if Robbo and Kerkez both get injured we might be glad of him.

No offence but I actually would prefer tsimikas to Robbo, who was shocking last season, legs go on, positional sense gone, crossing gone, he was terrible. I’d rather have tsimikas as back up to kirkez.

Ed0001, regarding Tsimikas, can’t we tell the player that he won't be registered for the squad. With World Cup qualifiers happening this year he will want to move to play?

Some of the comments here are disappointing. Both Robbo and Tsimi deserve some respect.
They have both been excellent for the club and how many player would be happy to play a bit part role.

Really hard with this, as I completely get it. He clearly loves it and never heard a bad word about him. I think I read he said something like 15 games for Liverpool is better than 40 anywhere else. I’m sure the pay helps, but also got to consider the fact that his family might be settled - we gave him the contract, so should honour it.

Jesus christ lads were not a charity, and yes Robbo we do want players who desperately want to play for us and then expect them to clear off when they're not good enough its called elite sport. Some heads on here needa serious wobble. Obviously he has a contract and can't be forced to move but we as fans should not want people happy to hang around never playing, possibly stopping us from strengthening as much as we'd like this summer. I do love Tsimikas, he has honestly always felt like a fellow fan to me. His wages are relatively low and, as others have pointed out, we will be glad to have him if either Kerkez or Robbo goes down. Doesn't seem as though we need to sell him with the deals the club are working on.
Probably the best window in my time as a supporter, so I'm basically willing to go with whatever the club decide ?.

By this way of thinking we'd sign another 3 CB's but still have Joey G hang around as SIXTH choice. I bet people wouldn't have the same attitude with Darwin wanting to hang around as 3rd choice CF if his sale was a necessity for Isak being signed. Harvey loves being here, Danny Murphy loved being here and im sure many others but players have to move on for a squad to evolve.

There have been countless of my fellow Scousers who would have loved five years at this glorious club. They had talent to burn. Everyone writing Robbo off kills me. He's still a top quality player and I believe Kerkez will have a fight to be number one. Tsimikas has also rarely done a thing wrong when called upon. I have never looked at a line up and been worried he's playing. If they are all happy to stay and play whatever part they are given that's their choice.

I think it's fair to suggest that tsimikas should be moved on to clear space in the squad, but it's really rather dumb to claim that he isn't good enough for the prem or for the team, he has played a definite part winning whatever we have won during his time here, and has been as good a back up left back as we could have hoped for.
