Appreciate the info but I'm not sure this adds up with the information we have about Isak.
I struggle see the club buying Ekitike, Isak AND another forward on top of that even if Diaz, Nunez and Chiesa leave as expected. Wirtz, Gakpo, Ekitike, Szobo and Rio who can always play there.
Especially when the focus after Isak has to be the defence, even moreso as Gomez looks like he's going to struggle for fitness again.
Ed001, do you think the club is really in the market for 2 more forwards after palindrome has signed?

Yesterday we had to play Elliot and Doak as central strikers. We had to play Stephenson at right back so that Frimpong could play RW. I am really excited about Rio but at the end of the day he is still only 16. We still need to add depth up.
It’s the same for the defence. Having to play Grav and Tsimi as CBs should not be a necessity.

Theres a chance we lose 4 attackers from last year, everyone saying we spent loads in attackers but as if yet we’ve just got one in. Ben with isak we’ll have just 4 with slag going away. We need another wide player who’s quick and play either side. Then rio makes it 6 with no pressure on him. Wirtz, szlob, etc… are good players and can plays different positions but Dosnt mean they should. Just filling in not long term. I’m sure slot saying about cbs he didn’t mean.

Leave Ngumhoa alone, he’s only 16. The recent past seems to suggest that the kids burst onto the scene for about half a dozen games and then disappear for 18 - 36 months with persistent debilitating injuries. - Gordon, Ramsey (excuse the pun) , Bajcetic, Danns, even Elliott. Ngumhoa has time on his side @nd he’s one for the future. Fofana has experience in first team football and is that little bit older and physically mature and I read somewhere that Arne wants two players challenging for each spot so Gakpo / Fofana grows into Fofana / Ngumoha over the next 2 or 3 years ….
I think the club seem to want Isak, Fofana, Guehi and he who must not be named’s nephew from Parma. I’m so far away from being ITK thatI’m nor even aware let alone nor being in the know. It’s just a gut feeling.

Fofana is exactly the type of signing Hughes was brought in to make. Good price, good age, great talent. And it fits Slot's profile - two footed, great balance, control and speed. He's not tall, but otherwise, would be an excellent signing to play left or right wing as needed.
Rio is a gem. But the kid needs time. He will get games this season. Especially if we start putting teams away earlier with our new firepower.

@elongated-leroy What has the game got to do with it? My comment was nothing to do with the game or the result, only the lack of depth available when trying to put 2 teams out. We should have at been able to name at least one of those teams with 2 cbs and a striker.

RIO was a jou to watch, i think a few more games with the first team and we might see something very special in him, i like how he runs at players.

We had 6 players last season that could play across the front 3 and we won the league. The amount of times we weren't up to it and subs came in and changed the game was unreal. Bring on the signings.
