I just read that Morton has agreed personal terms with Lyon but his asking price of 8M would be an issue.
8m seems absolutely rubbish to me, that's less than the money we received for Trent leaving a month early..
If Lyon can't stump up 8m surely a lower league PL club later in the window would be willing to slap a 15m offer in for him.. English tax and all that

Morton has no PL experience although he has done quite well in his loan spell at Championship clubs . Decent enough player but maybe we should have shifted him on the back of one of his loan spells instead of doing next to nothing last season. Maybe he would have commanded a bigger fee ?♂️.

Or maybe it's just Liverpool fans who think he's a great player. No bids from PL teams or Championship teams and only Lyon bidding and that's for 8m, is that even pounds or is it euros? Sometimes I think the fans over estimate how good our younger players really are.

Morton is home grown and can cover DM and CH - two positions in the squad where the depth is thinnest.
As a local lad he's unlikely to make a huge fuss about lack of minutes. His wage will be low and it would cost 25M+ to bring in a player of similar quality.
Makes no sense to sell unless he is trying to push through a move.

I can think of eight million reasons to sell Tyler Morton.
He isn't going to play unless we get a load on injirie and that isn't a reason to keep him.

It would NOT cost £25m to replace Morton with a player of similar quality. We should chomp their hands off for £8m. I see a lot of Hull city and the championship is his level.

I would argue against that McGoveb he just won the England U21 tournament and played most games, Carsley clearly rates him.
I'm not saying he is going to be a Liverpool legend or is worth 40m but he is definitely worth more than 8m (pounds), anyone getting him for that price is getting a steal.
