Me again ?.

Re Salah.

This ain't me taking shots, he's a legend. In my top 5 LFC players of all time, nowhere near the top mind but that conversation is for another day.

I've previously stated he wanted to leave in the summer but signed a new contract anyway. I spoke to a mate who I respect and trust about it this morning. he's a top end financial expert and works with the club not for them.

He confirmed that Salah wanted to leave in the summer and had a move lined up, as I've previously stated. We couldn't find the right replacement and then ended up giving him what he wanted. Even tho the numbers didn't add up for those in charge of these things (Edwards, Hughes) . Salah knows this. A rift started to open up just after the season started between Salah and Slot because of it. Plus Slot had already been making plans for life without him. Resulting in what we have seen recently.

Semenyo is now seen as that replacement and Salah will be moved on.

My mate doesn't think much of Hughes, calls him a Silver Tongued Charlatan. As for Edwards, its not something I can't post on here but to say he doesn't rate him is an understatement.

{Ed025's Note - good info mate..cheers..

Long time reader, first time blah blah

That silver tongued charlatan comment made me feel seen so I had to make an account. I think a lot has been said of our data nerds but Sans Klopp, they don't seem to have figured it out. Or at least that's my two cents on it.

Cheers for the updates folks, until the next well spoken insult to our club's management ?.

Thanks for the info Thefields. Seems like Klopp was right about Edward’s all along I even think ed001 doesn’t rate either so makes sense.

Thanks Thefields, when you say about As for Edwards, do you mean your mate doesn't rate Edwards, or Edwards doesn't rate Hughes?

08 Dec 2025 11:33:06
Didn’t Brendan and Edwards fall out as well? Now that may be a good thing given some of our memories of Brendan, but equally you’re Chief Exec should us usually be in sync with your Head Coaches. If not that’s a recipe for disaster with your company or club culture.

Slightly incorrect though Coulred. Ed001 rates Edwards but not in the current position he is in. I think Ed's words about him were something along the lines of him being way above his paygrade. He was excellent at spotting players but he wasn't suited to the role he was promoted to afterwards.

Rubio, until next time ?.

RR, my mate doesn't rate him.

08 Dec 2025 11:37:56
Thanks thefields. I believe Ed001 has said Mo never wanted to leave. I also find it hard to believe myself. He wanted to be a record breaker for Liverpool and had just enjoyed arguably his best season for the club. It makes no sense why he'd want to pull the plug on that.

Red9, it was because he knew a contract was not forthcoming at the time. Hence his comments like more out than in and this could be my last time playing at x, y, z.

He had his best season in ages but did his usual thing in the new year and went missing for the rest of the season imo.

Remember what Hetingas agent said about negotiations with Hughesless? Basically said he was a stony faced ****.

Silver tongued charlatan is a nice cuss.

Will he back Slot until CL/ Top 4 is out of the question?

Ill stand by what i said last season when we were winning most games - that side was not a shadow of peak Jurgen LFC and there is a long road ahead to get anywhere near as good as we wer then.
That side would be winning everything, europe wide.

That's great info Fields. TBH, and although I'm in the change the manager camp, after reading the inside info and opinions of Fields, VG etc. I'm coming around in my head that Slots here for the foreseeable and they're sticking with it so perhaps I may just have to roll with it all too.

They'll buy in Jan and perhaps between the team and him they'll clear the air and sort it all out on the training pitch and subsequently in competitive games. Doesn't mean I like it but from the signals I read it's Slot in.

Surely Semenyo will be looking at clubs like City, though he would likely be more guaranteed a start for us.

08 Dec 2025 15:22:43
He gets in our 1st 11 easily Dean.

Why would Salah sign a new contract if he wanted to leave? He wouldn't be too concerned about us not being able to sign a replacement either, would he? We spent over £400m in the summer but we couldn't find a replacement for a player so we made him the highest paid player at the club?
Salah could have found another club as he was out of contract and he would have received a huge signing on fee.

He wanted to leave that much that he didn't do that and signed another contract?
Something doesn't add up to me.

{Ed001's Note - Salah 100% did not want to leave. He was trying desperately to get a new deal with all his interviews, almost begging for one. And I know for a fact that, despite advice to the contrary, he was only interested in staying at Liverpool and did not have any interest in a move. His family is his main motivation and they all want to stay. Like Rafa and his wife, they have become Scousers and want to stay there. Salah's hope, and that of his family, is that he would have retired at Liverpool and then settled down to life there.}

That makes a lot more sense to me, Ed001.
