Ed, is our interest in Anthony Gordon long-term or has it been and gone? It seems odd that we were prepared to offer one of the highest sums in our history if it was a fleeting thing and the player is certainly keen on specifically us.

Furthermore is our interest in Chris Rigg genuine? Many thanks.

Babbity Rabbity

{Ed002's Note - Anthony Gordon (LW/F) Newcastle may insist on a straight sale without another player being involved now although interest of Liverpool moved on due to his price with them opting for Federico Chiesa. It has been suggested that Arsenal may be interested if Raheem Sterling does not work out. Newcastle will ponder a new contract.
Chris Rigg (CM) Kiddie spotted by Chelsea scouts when watching another Sunderland player. Of an age where he can reach the position of being Club Developed as well as Home Grown. Liverpool and Manchester United have sent scouts.}

1.) 13 Sep 2024 13:32:59
I would expect Liverpool to go back in for him next summer looks ready made for Liverpool. I think he has everything needed to play for us.

2.) 13 Sep 2024 13:13:26
Thanks Ed. Is our interest completely dead or could he be an option if Diaz/ Gakpo/ Nunez move on?

{Ed002's Note - If Nunez leaves Liverpool will look to a striker. Liverpool have already added Chiesa.}

3.) 14 Sep 2024 10:15:24
It will be interesting to see how AG develops this season. I think he has the attributes to be a top CF. A deal to be done next summer with 12 months on his contract.

4.) 14 Sep 2024 10:42:45
Seems inevitable that, as a Red that's keen to join, its only a matter of time before.

27 Aug 2024 17:14:18
Ed2, do you still think Luis Diaz could go to Saudi and Anthony Gordon to Liverpool? Thank you in advance.

Babbity Rabbity

{Ed002's Note - Chiesa is a better option to Gordon for me. Diaz wants Spain.}

1.) 27 Aug 2024 18:49:24
Gordon would be a reliable, multi-use, long term squad player, who would be playing for his dream team, not to mention he is still developing and is already very good.

2.) 27 Aug 2024 19:24:42
Really hope we get Chiesa as I always admired him as a player. We don’t have great history with Italian players though: Dossena, Aquilani and Ballotelli come to mind. In fact have we ever had a really good one?

3.) 27 Aug 2024 19:39:05
Luis Diaz is on pretty low wages compared to our other forwards. I think if we offer him a new contract that f. eks matches Jota's wages all this talk of spain would go away and he might even play better! Wishful thinking. I think there is much more to come from Diaz!

4.) 27 Aug 2024 19:59:50
Did you forget Borini Jonbonone? Brendan Rodger's 1st signing, Rodgers praised him so much i thought we were signing Baggio!

5.) 27 Aug 2024 20:08:35
Diaz has been great the first 2 matches.

6.) 27 Aug 2024 20:22:49
If Gordon doesn't sign a new contract he'll end up at Liverpool soon enough.

7.) 27 Aug 2024 20:45:38
Brendan should never have been allowed to bring in his old players (Borini, Allen, etc) or had the control to make us bring in Benteke and the like.

8.) 27 Aug 2024 20:53:08
I am a massive fan of chiesa too jonbonone. Looks to be back to his best after the horror injury as well. Would really love this to happen.

9.) 27 Aug 2024 20:58:03
Fiskesprett my guy, I remember the way BR hyped up Borini very vividly and you are right, you would have thought we signed Baggio (an idol of mine, btw) . BR was such a spoofer, it was so cringe.

As for Chiesa, we will have to see. Gordon? Im with Ed02. He can sray exactly where he is.

10.) 27 Aug 2024 21:02:23
The Italians struggling in England isn't a just Liverpool thing though outside of Di Canio and Zola 25 years ago the best success has been Jorginho and if you try to think of one after him its difficult. Ogbonna maybe? Balotelli has his moments at City. Pelle was decent for Southampton but no one really came in and took the league by storm. I can't recall many Italians doing well in Spain or Germany the last 20 years either. Toni for Bayern was good but who else. Considering they've won a euros and a world cup in that time its a surprise how few players have been big hits outside of Italy.

11.) 27 Aug 2024 21:11:18
I wonder what this signing means for one of the existing front 5.

12.) 27 Aug 2024 22:06:37
Fiskesprett I agree. Pay the man more, granted his dad doesn't help but he never once downs tools or looks like he's not trying 100%. Love Lucho me, workrate is superb, yes his end product can improve for sure but there's enough there for me. He's not had a clear full season with the bad injury 2 seasons ago when he was arguably our best player at start of the season, then last year started well again and his auld pair got kidnapped, say what you want about the lad but that can't be easy to deal with.

I don't know if there's more behind the scenes with ed saying he may have burnt his bridges and if that's the case so be it, but all I can see is a man who gives his all and an old school winger (my favourite type of player ever since I set eyes on Macca (shaggy) back in the day) . Would love to keep him and happy to up his wages if he's on as low as mentioned. in comparison to others at his level. And his song is a belter too!

13.) 27 Aug 2024 22:08:40
Ravanelli has to be the best to example of Italian success in prem. Scored 30 goals a season in a relegated middlesbro.

14.) 28 Aug 2024 07:56:59
Chiesa looks a better option than Gordon for that money. Everyone saying that Chiesa is 'broken' have clearly not seen he played 33 games last season and he's hardly going to be playing every game this season with Salah ahead of him.
Chiesa is an insanely talented footballer, he's very direct and suits the prem.

Diaz has started like a house on fire, let's hope we can keep him one more year or see where things are at in January.

Along with Chiesa and the GK, I still think it's 50/ 50 if a CB deal is completed in time. Hope Gomez gets a game soon as he deserves it.

15.) 27 Aug 2024 20:12:58
Thanks Ed. Is there much chance Diaz gets his dream move to Spain or is it a pipe dream for him? Chiesa seems too cheap and too risky to be a replacement for him. More of a supplementary signing like Shaqiri.

{Ed002's Note - I would doubt it.}

And there it is. I see in a recent interview with The Redmen that Lijnders himself has taken "credit" for the inverted full-back tactics. Apparently Klopp was hesitant but Lijnders had a strop until Klopp relented.

Honestly I'm glad to see the back of this megalomaniac. I have a lot of emotions about the Klopp era but one of the more negative ones is "what if? " What if Klopp didn't have this clown in his ear, muddying his ideas? Would we have won more? No wonder Buvac left.

Babbity Rabbity

1.) 21 May 2024 17:23:24
He has a point about the midfield being overran we were getting killed on the counter once we lost Bobby and gini, would of just been easier to go 3 at the back like Amorim or xabi as that seems to be the meta tactic in this era.

2.) 21 May 2024 17:27:37
Even at the send off I found him annoying. Jumped up. Time will tell, I guess.

3.) 21 May 2024 18:16:47
The fella would get up on himself if he could turn quick enough.

4.) 21 May 2024 18:28:58
You are children.

You’ve never been to training, never seen the dynamic and never interacted with any of these people and have decided to service an agenda to come out with this utter bilge.

Most top sides now try to invert fullbacks. Until 2 months ago it was an absolute success for us. We won a cup, we had 7 points robbed off us by awful officiating and you’re spouting this inane nonsense.

Lads, don’t breed.

5.) 21 May 2024 19:14:17
The thing is Why0why that regardless to what you think about Pep he has come out repeatedly on multiple platforms to make it clear how important he has been to our success. That isn’t an agenda on anybody’s part pointing that out, that’s simply a statement of fact.

If you listen/ watch the recent “reds roundtable” with him, Klopp, Alex inglethorp, Cody and Harvey he does something similar there. He is talking about the relationship between the fans, the team and the manager and he starts says “you where able to” (to Klopp) and quickly changes that to “we where able to” mid sentence. Fella can’t help himself.

I thank him for being part of the success and I wish him well but I’m not sad he’s going. I had more than enough ego with Rodgers at the helm.

6.) 21 May 2024 19:40:14
And yet Klopp clearly listened to him. Strange thing for a successful manager to do if Ljinders is "a clown" isn't it?

At the end of the day, if Ljinders' tactics were flawed, doesn't the buck stop with Klopp for going with them instead of saying no or sacking him and getting another assistant?

7.) 21 May 2024 20:30:31
And how do you know the changing it to ‘we’ rather than ‘you’ isn’t because Klopp has told them to speak like that as they are a team and it’s not just about Klopp. I can sort of see what people mean with Linders but Klopp made the final decisions. He comes across ok on the video with the 6 coaches on you tube. Plus his English isn’t perfect so all this he said we and not you is just r language not ego. Anyway if the guy took the training and was an integral part of the tactics he deserves some praise not just criticism.

8.) 21 May 2024 22:05:01
Some people don’t like Lijnders and take comments or media quotes at face value with little or no attempt at placing the snippet they take to heart within any sort of context and thus an opinion is formed that is then presented as fact.

At the end of the day, who cares? Life goes on - the much praisedJurgen has gone, the much criticised Pep has gone. Whatever the dynamic the most exciting era for the club in 35 years or so is over.

Time to open up the next chapter. Here’s hoping that in 10 years time Arne is seem in the same light as Jurgen and held in the same esteem.

9.) 21 May 2024 22:13:19
I'm pretty sure we're allowed an opinion without you screaming at us and telling us not to breed. Get off your high horse.

Fantastic news!
Over the moon about it 😁.

2.) 28 Apr 2022 15:32:40
I don't think my wife realises how important this is. Im walking around with biggest smile.

She called me a berk.

After 34 years i might have married a 'dud'

3.) 28 Apr 2022 16:59:20
What a great day to be a Liverpool fan 💪.

4.) 28 Apr 2022 17:07:24
Thank you Jurgen 😊.

5.) 28 Apr 2022 17:17:27
Apperently Mrs Klopp had a big say and told him he should stay longer. So thank you Mrs K!

6.) 28 Apr 2022 17:45:23
Should have signed him up to his 60th birthday.

7.) 28 Apr 2022 18:37:17
Ornstein is usually very reliable. Result.

8.) 28 Apr 2022 18:48:19
I can’t believe we are stuck with him for another few years. #overrated. I was hoping we’d get Rogers back in. Ah well.

9.) 28 Apr 2022 18:50:18
SOd Rogers, we need Woy back, when Watford go down. WARRAMMERR!

10.) 28 Apr 2022 19:31:15
Some more details on new Klopp contract by David Maddock:

*Agreed 4 year deal
*Replaces current deal, runs to 2026
*Option for longer
*Staff extend
*Backing for signings
*Wants Salah and Mane sorted
*Klopp initiated deal, to build dynasty
*Energised by players couldn't walk away

AMAZING!

11.) 28 Apr 2022 19:56:59
So excited I decided to have a quick tom tank, and that's how I got banned from starbucks.

12.) 28 Apr 2022 20:45:33
Would this make klopp the best paid manager in the world?

13.) 28 Apr 2022 21:26:25
“but since I'm here it feels like every day we come together a little bit closer, we understand each other a little bit better, we appreciate each other a little bit more”.

I love my family and employ lots of people and I have never been lost for words of encouragement . Never have I read such pertinent words. What a leader

We love Jurgen.

14.) 28 Apr 2022 22:00:19
Fantastic news, 4 more years of brilliant attacking football 😎.

15.) 29 Apr 2022 12:00:50
Brilliant news and if I was a betting man, Salah would be next.

{Ed0666's Note - I get that feeling also mate. It’s kind of scary the feel good factor emanating out of the club at the moment I just hope it continues for an extremely long time. FSG are playing a blunder at the moment everything they touch is turning to gold.

16.) 29 Apr 2022 12:15:19
There needs to be a song for Klopp's wife at the next home match.

{Ed0666's Note - I fully support that motion

17.) 29 Apr 2022 16:45:53
"Mrs Klopp Mrs Klopp running down the wing". oh wait 😅.

21 Oct 2021 16:19:55
Hey eds,

Do we still hold interest in Harvey Barnes after he signed a new contract? He's not been playing much recently so maybe Leicester might be open to letting him go?

Cheers.

Babbity Rabbity

{Ed0666's Note - Why would we sign him after he’s just signed a contract? His price would have increased no?

1.) 21 Oct 2021 16:51:09
Yeah it feels like the Harvey Barnes door shut with him signing that new contract, at least for a few years. He is a very underrated and exciting player though and one that I hoped Liverpool would chase.

{Ed001's Note - in what way is he underrated? Surely you mean overrated?}

2.) 21 Oct 2021 18:35:22
Depends if Leicester are open to letting him go Ed. They seem to be flirting with playing two strikers up front and wing backs at the moment which he doesn't really fit into.

3.) 22 Oct 2021 10:40:33
Rumours are that Newcastle are going to go for him as an achievable big money signing.

{Ed002's Note - Newcastle have not made any approach for Barnes. A third party advising the club has spoken with a few clubs about player availability but they have not at this time, and the club need to make ttwo appointments before anything is firmed up over targets.}

4.) 22 Oct 2021 19:17:14
Cheers Ed. Top knowledge as always.

5.) 22 Oct 2021 20:08:11
I mean he is underrated because he doesn’t have a sexy Brazilian name. He is a 23 year old English talent who is a first teamer for Leicester. I think he doesn’t get anywhere near the recognition he deserves. I’m not sure he’s even had an England call up. If you think he’s overrated Ed 1, I personally disagree.

{Ed001's Note - the media constantly big him up.}

6.) 23 Oct 2021 01:00:13
The only Harvey that we need is called Elliott.

7.) 23 Oct 2021 08:29:31
We want players with minimal drop in quality from first team. Know that’s hard with mane and salah but Barnes is too big a drop. Also likely to be over priced as English and signed new contract.

8.) 23 Oct 2021 14:24:25
Spot on, Ed. Barnes is not as good as he is being made out to be and not sure why that would be surprising since we all know young English talents are overrated by the English media.

05 Oct 2024 23:49:01
Ed001, if I may, what do you think the future holds for Harvey Elliott? Do you see him as the 10, at RW if Salah leaves or even eventually leaving if his game time doesn't improve? Many thanks.

Babbity Rabbity

{Ed001's Note - 10. I think we are badly missing him there in a few games this season.}

1.) 06 Oct 2024 05:20:38
Is there any update on his injury Ed? Would be great to see him get some decent playing time sooner rather than later given how solid he looked in pre season!

{Ed001's Note - he is due back towards the end of the month - about 3 weeks away.}

2.) 06 Oct 2024 06:33:07
Excellent - looking forward to seeing him back! Are you back in the UAE tris? In transit here today and it feels good to be back!

{Ed001's Note - for a few more days I am. Still trying to find a place to rent for the long term. Are you back for good?}

3.) 06 Oct 2024 09:31:37
Was looking forward to seeing Elliot, then he got injured.
Feel like he is right on the cusp of the next step in his career.
Coming off the bench he can be dangerous for us.

4.) 06 Oct 2024 20:19:09
I love Elliott you can see he absolutely loves the club and puts his heart and soul into every game.

My only issue with him being our number 10 in the current setup is his tackling. He’s improved on the defensive side but I don’t see him charging around and dispossessing people like Szob does.

Elliott has always been great on the ball but in the press he gets bypassed way too easily which worries me. Hopefully Slot will get him working hard in the gym so he can hold his own physically, then he could be a great player for us.

5.) 07 Oct 2024 14:10:20
BP, maybe Slot will have Harvey play the "so called 10 role" in a different way that Szobo is being asked to play it. Harvey is a very intelligent player who recognises space and movement and where to find pockets of space to occupy and create.

he is also very hardworking and maybe not like Szobo is but he can more than do a job in this regard. Let's see what happens when he comes back cos I think like Ed01 said, he would have been useful in a few games this season.

6.) 08 Oct 2024 01:02:37
I think you’re right Oli in that he would’ve been useful in some games this season from the bench but we are a pressing team. Everyone has to be able to press as we set traps, cutting off passing lanes and forcing errors.

If everyone cuts off passing lanes and the player on the ball just bundles passed Elliott we have half the team out of the game. It was an issue when he played in midfield a couple of seasons ago. His inability to win the ball cost us time and again.

Like I said he has improved as he got older and stronger but it remains to be seen if he is strong enough yet to do the job we need him to do off the ball.

I love the kid as a player and as a person he gives us everything but I’m not sure if he will ever be more than an impact sub purely because of his lack of consistent defensive capabilities.

03 Oct 2024 12:44:41
If we don't see 3-4 changes for Saturday, I am going to be very concerned about Slot's rotation policy. There's 2.5 days between the games. If he doesn't freshen the team up and give some others a chance, he will have run the starting XI into the ground by the time the season's over.

Babbity Rabbity

1.) 03 Oct 2024 15:43:12
Pick your best team I think. Bologna could have easily won that had we rotated. I think after the break we will start to see more changes though.

2.) 03 Oct 2024 16:38:27
BB, before you complain, please share with us which changes you would like to see, which players should come in and in what positions so we can have a real conversation? Rather than just complain about a problem about whoever's policy that neither you nor I know anything about.

3.) 03 Oct 2024 16:41:06
There was 4 days rest before Bologna. 2.5 days after. A material difference.

4.) 03 Oct 2024 16:41:06
There was 4 days rest before Bologna. 2.5 days after. A material difference.

5.) 03 Oct 2024 17:33:59
@Oli I see no reason why the likes of Gakpo, Jota and Quansah can't start. It wouldn't cause too much of a drop-off. I don't understand your second point. Slot has barely rotated the team with the exception of the Carabao Cup game. The likes of Endo, Bradley and Quansah have barely played this season. Jones has only started the Carabao Cup game. Mac Allister, Diaz, Alisson and Salah all played the Forest game straight after an international break when they were flying in from different continents and time-zones. Slot himself has said he is not used to rotating his squad in previous jobs. I don't understand how you don't understand his rotation policy.

6.) 03 Oct 2024 18:06:04
I think he will rotate or adjust when he feels the need is there and for him that’s not 6 or 7 games into a season no matter how close they are. I suspect he also realises the quality he has behind but do I put one or two in every game as a rotation and “consistently” disrupt the team or do I do it at a point I see fit by making multiple changes and embed a group of players into a new “team”? Personally I think he is showing intelligence - not disrupting a successful beginning just yet.

29 Sep 2024 03:33:26
Ed001, if I may, what are your thoughts on Chris Rigg? Is he one of those blue moon-type players we usually struggle to get because they move to a level of club who usually price us out (Bellingham, Haaland, Gvardiol, Wirtz) or is it a lot of hype? If he's the real deal, do you think we should be going all out to get him? Much appreciated.

Babbity Rabbity

{Ed001's Note - not seen enough of him to judge. He looks fantastic in clips and highlight reels, but hard to tell if that is his real level or not.}

1.) 29 Sep 2024 07:07:26
Bellingham, Gvardiol, Haaland, Wirtz were all attainable before they became “priced out”.

2.) 29 Sep 2024 10:42:34
I like him. He has a lot of similarities to Roy Keane when he was a teenager at Forest. He’s also left footed - another bonus.

I’d rather sign him than Adam Wharton.

3.) 29 Sep 2024 21:48:25
always going to be hard for a 17-year old to get a chance at a club like us. And that's not being arrogant, but a lot of things have to go his way and our way for him to get that chance.

22 Sep 2024 11:14:15
Ed001 if I may, who would be on your list of candidates to potentially replace Salah next summer?

Also if at some point it becomes obvious that Trent is definitely leaving, would you prioritise playing Bradley over him?

Thanks.

Babbity Rabbity

{Ed001's Note - I think Chiesa is the replacement if Salah goes. Surely has to be worth trying to get Rodrygo as well.

No, Trent is too good to leave out and I know he would not stop trying for Liverpool no matter what.}

1.) 22 Sep 2024 14:04:34
I would be happy to pay Salah’s wages to get Musiala as replacement. He’s awesome.

2.) 22 Sep 2024 14:06:03
Rodrygo would be a great buy. Trents positioning is a lot better. Slots refined his role better thus far and defensively he even looks more hungry and aggressive. Bradley's the future so wouldn't worry about what could happen with trent mate.

3.) 22 Sep 2024 14:20:17
Ed01 I know this is not related to the OP (sorry) and as I write this he's just given away a clumsy penalty but what is your opinion on Carlos Baleba of Brighton? Looks another great find for them.

{Ed001's Note - I don't believe that should have been a penalty at all. He looks a very good player, lots of work, seems decent on the ball too.}

4.) 22 Sep 2024 15:09:51
Looks like the sort of 6 klopp was looking for. Do you think he's good enough on the ball for what Slot seems to want? Maybe too soon to judge. He's only 20 as well.

{Ed001's Note - no, imo he is not what Slot wants.}

5.) 22 Sep 2024 15:54:39
I think we have what slot wants in gravenberch? Maybe maccas position is the one which gets replaced next?

6.) 22 Sep 2024 16:18:24
Slot wants a complete midfielder, someone who can do everything Macca, Jones, and Gravenberch can but with the defensive physicality as well, someone like a Gerrard, Alonso or Rodri. Not many of them out there that I know of anymore so as he said himself, it's hard to upgrade. Personally I think Maccas place is up for grabs anyway. He's a great player no doubt but his one weakness is his mobility, which the 2 cm's in Slots system do need. Add RM sniffing about and I think he might be off sooner than some think.

7.) 22 Sep 2024 17:36:19
I do think the squad is short a strong all-round midfielder. With Nyoni and Bajcetic to return next year, the future is bright but if we get injuries to our first choice 3 the backup is light.

People will throw pelters but there's probably a deal to be done for Matheus Nunes. He's struggled at Man City but there's a player in there.

It would be great to see Tyler Morton step up, as Quansah did last season. Save us a few bob.

let's see what January brings :)

8.) 22 Sep 2024 17:43:47
I mean if we wanted Trent surely we would have given him a deal by now. Seems insane to run the contract down if you don't have an agreement in place. Surely other top teams would be trying to turn his head at this point.

9.) 22 Sep 2024 22:00:35
So proud of gravenberch, he has taken his chance.

The more he grows into the role, the more I think we can adjust our midfield targets for next window (s)

10.) 23 Sep 2024 08:55:06
@DeanW we don't know that the club hasn't been talking to Trent. Just because a deal isn't signed we shouldn't assume nothing has been discussed.

Usually the club and agent will go back and forward for quite some time to discuss specifics and then once those are discussed the club will offer a new contract.

11.) 23 Sep 2024 13:18:35
Ed01, I hope not. I hope we get another one in to partner Chiesa, one who will be a bit younger even tho, I rate Rodrygo. Still looking at Kudus, personally.

12.) 23 Sep 2024 14:35:15
Do you think Elliott could do a job long-term at RW?

13.) 23 Sep 2024 20:35:46
Babbity not for me mate, elliot more suited to a 10 centrally, great player.
Id be going for kubo myself.

02 Jan 2024 08:29:32
I watched the Simon Jordan interview with Robbie Fowler a few weeks ago where he talked about how he disliked being called a "natural finisher" because it didn't represent all the hard work he had put into it. He also talked about how he was frustrated with his lack of managerial opportunities.

I have been anxious about our finishing for a while now. It has already cost us points and it could come back to haunt us if it doesn't improve. If Fowler's finishing can be taught, I think the club should look to bring him in on a consultancy basis like they did with the Danish throw-in coach while he is waiting for a new job as our forwards could really learn something from him.

I think all the forwards are guilty of not finishing well it’s just the sheer volume of chances that gets us out of trouble .
I’m pretty sure things will click . Whether it be Darwin or Diogo or whoever I think the goals will come .

2.) 02 Jan 2024 08:58:55
They could also learn a few tips from Jota.

3.) 02 Jan 2024 09:35:39
You can't teach composure in front of goal.

4.) 02 Jan 2024 10:24:27
I reckon if Jota gets a run of matches starting as our central striker, and assuming we continue to dominate territory and possession as we have of late, he will bag quite a few goals.

Be interesting to see if the absence of Salah impacts chance creation, and to be fair to Nunez, a lot of his chances come from his own movement and pace, so it doesn't necessarily follow that all of the same chances would open up for Jota, but if Jota had been fit and starting for the last month, I reckon he'd have scored half a dozen in that period.

5.) 02 Jan 2024 10:35:52
@Flash according to Fowler himself, you can. As he said, the more you practice something, the easier it becomes. Nunez in particular needs to put in a few extra sessions. I firmly believe he can come good but I'm not going to keep making excuses for him. He needs to work on his finishing.

6.) 02 Jan 2024 10:41:06
Looking back over the first half of this season I noticed Some of Nunez's best games, goals and assists have come when he has been on the right side of our attack! 2 goals v Newcastle stand out and assists for Salah. Possible option for when Mo is at AFCON?

7.) 02 Jan 2024 11:03:17
Composure in front of goal is more about defeating your own anxieties than technique, it's about state of mind.
Which is why many players can look world class in training but fail to reach that level on matchday.
Regular practice wil obviously push him in the right direction but it doesn't guarantee he'll have the composure during a match to react te same way.

8.) 02 Jan 2024 11:28:56
Andy Cole, considered a great goal scorer, used to miss a hatful of easy chances every game. It was purely down to the amount created for him that he got the goals he did.

I don’t care how they go in as long as they do.

9.) 02 Jan 2024 11:35:35
Maybe he isn’t a very good coach?
The team will be fine. We’ve got goals coming from all over the squad.

10.) 02 Jan 2024 12:15:23
Nunez reminds me of Sterlings days at Liverpool time on the ball he gets caught in 2 minds but given a chance and there is no time to think just act it is a goal .
Unlike Sterling I think he has way more to his game and think he will come good but I’m also at peace that he may only ever be a 15-20 goal a season attacker but gives 110%
Think he’s averaging a goal contribution every 90 currently which isn’t bad at all we just know he could get that down to 45mins if he put away a few extra .

11.) 02 Jan 2024 12:16:14
@Flash if you're anxious about it, practice the situation as many times as possible so that it becomes second nature. This goes for many different situations as possible. Like how students take mock exams. Sure, the pressure isn't like the real thing but practising the process still helps.

@Faith a few additional sessions to give some pointers on finishing while he's out of work wouldn't do either party any harm. It's been the story of our season. We manage because we are creating so many chances. We aren't as clinical as we were a few years ago. We take about 20 shots before we get a goal while the opposition take 1 or 2 before they score.

12.) 02 Jan 2024 12:20:53
Nah, @Flash I disagree. You make very valid points as to why composure may not be able to be taught or can be difficult to learn. Look at Divock Origi, for ex. to support your point. The guy is naturally laid back wnd this helps him in such critical situations that allow him to remain inexplicably calm in high pressure moments of chaos hence, his ability to take the chances he took vs Barca, Spurs in the CL final and vs Everton and other clutch moments.

However you said it yourself, it is more defeating your anxieties hence, more psychological than everything else. So indeed, if you get the type of help you need to tap into that mental side of things that will allow you to take control of your mind and remain calm in critical moments and take a deep breathe before taking the chance (something you can practice till it becomes instinctive), you can be composed in front of goal and composure can be taught, I reckon.

Thanks Ed. Is our interest completely dead or could he be an option if Diaz/ Gakpo/ Nunez move on?

Babbity Rabbity

{Ed002's Note - If Nunez leaves Liverpool will look to a striker. Liverpool have already added Chiesa.}

Is the bridge between Luis Diaz and the club still burned or has the situation been remedied?

I reckon Klopp typed up Nat Phillips' contract himself.

Thanks Ed. Is there much chance Diaz gets his dream move to Spain or is it a pipe dream for him? Chiesa seems too cheap and too risky to be a replacement for him. More of a supplementary signing like Shaqiri.

{Ed002's Note - I would doubt it.}

There was 4 days rest before Bologna. 2.5 days after. A material difference.

Ed001, I saw Bajcetic got fined for being late to training. Seems like that habit is dying hard.

Babbity Rabbity

{Ed001's Note - yep, it is his way, which is a problem unless he is going to make up the time by staying late and working on his game each day. Unfortunately, I think we will end up moving him on in the summer.}

Sorry WDW but that is nonsense about Kane. His link-up play for a striker is pretty good although his pressing isn't great. Sometimes you have to give credit where credit's due and I would say Kane has been consistently in the top 3 number 9s for the last decade.
