I'm curious whether clubs employ interpreters at all. Some players speak a little/ fluent English when they come to PL, but some don't, same applies with players joining clubs elsewhere in world.
Obviously as time goes on they do pick up/ learn enough to communicate but to begin with if there's nobody already at the club who can act as a go between if that's something clubs employ as the players/ manager settle.

Bandit06

{Ed002's Note - Generally not - Marseille had an interpreter for Bielsa and Chelsea has a guy who staterted as a steward who helped out Ranieri and has remained as player liaison ever since - he is the red faced tubby guy who stands at the entrance to the tunnel at every game, Gary Staker. Who is a great guy loved by all of the players.}

1.) 12 Jun 2018 17:36:14
Thanks Ed 👍🏻.

2.) 12 Jun 2018 17:36:26
I believe Wayne Rooney had one until recently whilst he learned English.

3.) 12 Jun 2018 18:18:08
Rooney is also a red faced tubby guy. What are the chances.

{Ed002's Note - Klopp may see him as a versatile option.}

4.) 12 Jun 2018 18:29:16
that made me laugh. good one.

5.) 12 Jun 2018 20:41:28
That made me laugh out loud!

6.) 12 Jun 2018 22:10:59
I think I know that guy, Ed. The red-faced, fit guy with grey hair?

Ox ruled out of World Cup. gutted for the lad. I think it's fair to say he's proven a lot of people wrong since he's been at LFC and has shown a great attitude on and off the pitch. Get well soon YNWA.

Bandit06

1.) 25 Apr 2018 18:52:32
He definitely proved me totally wrong. I'm very sorry for the lad but he's going to come back even better and strongest for us.
YNWA OX.

2.) 25 Apr 2018 19:23:50
Absolutely gutted for him. Freak injury, but he’ll come back from it and pick up where he left off.

3.) 25 Apr 2018 19:33:04
I'm a believer in Ox, as well. Get well soon, lad.

4.) 25 Apr 2018 19:33:18
The Ox has taken to Instagram to speak about his injury. Stating that it pales in comparison with the injury to the fan outside the ground and he sends thoughts and best wishes to him.
Good lad that Ox is!

5.) 25 Apr 2018 20:16:33
Class ox class.

6.) 25 Apr 2018 23:10:41
Class is permanent.

Lots of posters hoping we can sign Goretzka on a free, but looking like he's off to Bayern, so how about Max Meyer who is also able to sign a pre-contract?
Apparently he's now playing a deeper holding midfield role for Schalke and doing it well, therefore he could be more adaptable than Goretzka by covering two midfield positions for us.

Bandit06

1.) 16 Jan 2018 12:34:14
May I do the honours Editor #2? - RTFP!

{Ed002's Note - Right now Schalke are offering him around and talking to one side - but they want a new contract. None of it involces Liverpool right now.}

2.) 16 Jan 2018 12:58:43
Spooked, I fail to see why RTFP has to do with my original posts which was gauging opinion from posters/ Ed’s on the fact that Max Meyer has seemingly adapted to a new role for his club, a player Liverpool were apparently keen on in the past and if his ability to play a couple of positions in midfield would see him as a good option for our midfield should Can move on.

3.) 16 Jan 2018 13:43:40
Bandit - if you had searched for Meyer you would have seen he's been discussed very recently and would have answered your question. that's why RTFP is relevant.

Well, there we have it. Phils off. Money's well and truly gone mad in football and player power is all mighty! do you think with the way that player power is now increasing to the point that we are seeing more players forcing their clubs hands RE: transfers (Pip, VVD, Sterling, Dembele etc) that perhaps the way contracts are worded needs to change. Perhaps it will be more common that a player has a high, but realistic buy out clause?
If we take Pip for example if in his contract he signed last year he had a buy out clause of say £150/ 160 million Barcelona of whoever knows the asking price and if they don't stump that up then the player knows he's not going anywhere.
This protects the club he plays for, if for example another club approaches and unsettles the player to the point he wants to go there is not a club vs player fall out. the terms are clearly laid out, they are either met or not.
Just a thought.

Bandit06

1.) 06 Jan 2018 21:00:44
It’s a nice idea but with the changes recently in fees paid for players it wouldn’t work. For example say pip signed a contract even two years ago with a buy out clause no one would think we would ever get £140ml so you could end up loosing out to a change in market value. Or it could finally stop the crazy money being paid out! Gone are the days when 20ml was a big buy.

Well done Ox on 2 counts.
1st obviously had a good game in middle of the park, hopefully keeps improving!
2nd in interviews after game with Coutinho reporter asked Phil about speculation about move. Phil was not really sure what to say and after a minute or so Ox inturupts stating that Phil is a Liverpool player, totally professional at all times and puts his arm around him and says it's unfair to ask him those kind of questions. fair play for sticking up for his teammate when he didn't have to.

Bandit06

1.) 17 Dec 2017 18:55:06
Agreed. He works so hard and his pressing was brilliant. Was so unlucky when made great tackle, then ran at defence and hit the post was really wanting it to go in for him as he deserved it. Also like to say whole team played really well and Robertson looked good going both ways and never stopped running.

2.) 17 Dec 2017 18:56:33
Just made a post about the exact same thing. Real classy guy.

3.) 17 Dec 2017 19:04:05
Well done young Ox.

4.) 17 Dec 2017 21:35:18
Ox was brilliant today and shows again, Klopp's ability to coach a player and improve him. Ox has already come good for us way more than he did at Arsenal and hopefully, he can keep going as he is a genuine good lad and very professional as his interview showed.

5.) 18 Dec 2017 12:54:35
I ain't seen that yet but that's great of him an I admire his character, we all know he going sky have too blow it up an disrupt us an him, talk sport are the same can't listen in car drives me mad the biased against us, anyway great result lads u made my day.

£19 million for someone who has potential. nuts but fair play to Edwards for getting that much for him. particularly if there’s a sell on fee/ first option clause in it.

Bandit06

{Ed0333's Note - Micheal Edwards has played a blinder, well done that man.

As much as I’d love us to sign Fekir I’m not upset at the club in how they have conducted themselves if this is true.
If the issue WAS the medical surely it’s right that if there’s a doubt over long term fitness that this is addressed, of course Lyon want as much as possible but surely LFC were right to discuss the fee, Lyon didn’t have to budge though.
If I went to buy a car/ house and found something that could cause a fault I’d want to discuss lowering price to cover myself.

Head injuries should always be taken very seriously, I think football has taken strides to address this but can go further and medics should be on site to assess and make recommendations which should be heeded.
As an avid cricket fan it was almost an innocuous incident that led to death of Aussie Phil Hughes a few years ago so head injuries are taken far more seriously since. A ball hurled at 80 mph is going to damage but so is clash of heads or an elbow in football.
We need to ensure the players safety but acting swiftly on injuries and punishment handed out to anyone like Ramos etc who wilfully inflicts head injuries.

Chelsea may be able to offer more money to buy the player thanks to mr abramovich but I would think we could match them on wages.
Chelsea have pull of being London based which can be a consideration for players, but can’t offer CL football.
I would hope there’s still a good chance of getting a player to choose us over Chelsea, especially given there’s a degree of uncertainty over Conte’s future.

Our biggest issue is that Roma and A Madrid know we are in need of a new keeper, I wouldn’t say desperate for one but extremely keen for one.
Neither Madrid or Roma need to sell, both players tied to a contract so they can play hard ball like we did with Coutinho, so unless like Pip did and either player forces through the move it’s going to be tough to do a deal.

Ajax have a few handy players. Holland have one hell of a central defence in VVD and De Ligt.

Will all depend on who leaves. We will need a LB and RB as back up/ rotation. Probably also a good Striker/ forward to compliment the front three and who would be a quality alternative when they need to be rested. As we have seen Origi and Sturridge have struggled when called upon.
Would love a creative midfielder/ AM who could help break down mass defences.

Awful news. Seems that he did so much for the Leicester community as well as the fans, which I was not aware of. All of which makes me more happy that they won the league during his tenure.
RIP, if there were more people like him the world would be a better place.

{Ed025's Note - i could not have put it better myself bandit..
