Edd001 is real Madrid now in for wirtz?

Batman7

{Ed001's Note - I don't know mate sorry, seems unlikely as there doesn't seem to be a place for him in their side.}

1.) 22 May 2025 15:33:46
Edd001 medias stating alonso wants him ifhey to sell rodrigo to arsenal. I'm hoping he makes a decision very soon and he's wearing red.

{Ed001's Note - if I was Alonso I would want rid of Rodrygo and to bring in Wirtz.}

2.) 22 May 2025 15:35:14
What do you think Ed about the Wirtz transfer Saga? IM not one to get excited about these things because of the times we have been led on in this past.

I can't get past him choosing Munich.

{Ed001's Note - for me the big issue is agreeing a deal with Leverkusen, rather than him choosing Munich. He was close to joining us a few years ago, but it fell through and it appears he still wants to make the move. The issue with going to Bayern, as well, is that he would ruin his rep with Leverkusen fans, who hate Bayern.}

3.) 22 May 2025 16:09:24
Christ sake Ed. You're doing it again! .

I'm going to the toilet. again.

{Ed001's Note - I wouldn't get your hopes up, I love Wirtz so that is almost certain to put the mockers on it.}

4.) 22 May 2025 16:16:51
I have that same feeling. (most likely because others before it looked like we were getting and then suddenly bang. gone to Chelsea. bang. gone to Madrid. )

He really would be an amazing signing. BUT I'm trying not to get too excited as it's already looking exciting and there's always someone else.

5.) 22 May 2025 16:18:20
Alonso wants Wirtz.

6.) 22 May 2025 17:09:27
I'd be more disappointed if marubbish comes in and takes him via arsenal buying rodrigo.

7.) 22 May 2025 17:28:29
You never know Ed001, I remember you wanting Alison and look what happened there. Fingers crossed ?.

8.) 22 May 2025 17:54:31
Its done old fella. The club cannot announce it just yet the figure i quoted couple weeks of days ago was for two players. So two players from same team.
We know who the first player is and no prizes for guessing the second.
Cheers.

9.) 22 May 2025 19:05:46
Alonso wants Wirtz! Well Xabi does have an extra circa 50 mill to spend with getting Arnold on a freebie, whereas we have circa 50 mill less.

No one knows Wirtz's capabilities better than Xabi who has had Wirtz, under his wings for two years, must be a top, top player, and Xabi also does his old club Bayer a favour by removing him from the Bundesliga, which Arne can also most readily accommodate.

One has to hope that slime ball Guardiola withdrew because he didn't want another Liverpool victory against him this season, you have to think the odds look good with Guardiola snaking back under his stone.

P. S. Two other Birds for the Season! Arteta "TIT" and Moyes a "BLUE TIT"

10.) 22 May 2025 20:14:41
Akira,
Your post from a few days ago mate was 118 million.
Now you’re saying 2 player's from the same club, and we know they are.
I’m assuming Frimpong and Wirtz.
If it was 30 for Frimpong, that would leave just under 90 for Wirtz. Can’t see them selling that cheap.

11.) 22 May 2025 20:38:42
Not having a pop at you Joe, but 90 million cheap, where the fuggadoodles is football going?

12.) 22 May 2025 21:32:53
Was wirtz close to joining us from leverkusan or before he joined leverkusan ed1?

{Ed001's Note - I think it was after he joined Leverkusen, but I can't remember for sure. I am still not going to get my hopes up as he was all set for Bayern this summer, it seems too much to hope that it has changed so much.}

13.) 22 May 2025 22:53:49
Haha I know baker. It’s mad.
I meant in comparison to what they’re asking (rumoured 125m)

14.) 23 May 2025 00:37:13
‘Fugadoodles’ quality!

15.) 23 May 2025 01:35:05
Ed I see where you're coming from and you could be right, but transfers can change very quickly, and he was only all set for Bayern because they were the only team having serious discussions until we suddenly entered the chat a week ago.

I don't think Wirtz would reject Bayern because of loyalty to Leverkusen, Trent has gone to Madrid despite being cognisant (ok maybe that's arguable) that he'd damage his relationship with Liverpool fans. Lewandowski, Gotze and Hummels also left BvB for Bayern. If he rejects Bayern I'd say its because he just likes our proposal better than theirs.

we've had serious talks with his family and Edwards has flown to Boston to get the deal package approved, so I don't reckon agreeing a deal with Leverkusen is the main obstacle, the obstacle is just beating Bayern's proposal.

16.) 23 May 2025 06:59:21
Looking at some of the press in Germany, including ex Bayern player Stefan effenberg (decent player for fiorentina) piling on telling wirtz to hurry up and make up his mind to sign for Bayern, plus the press campaign Bayern have orchestrated saying he only wants Bayern etc., to the Bayern leaks saying that Liverpool are serious and might be advancing to save face in case they don't get him, it all seems really hysterical and can't be pleasant for the player and his family to deal with. It's bullying behaviour to be fair, I can understand why no club in Germany wants to be party to this sort of nonsense. They are the Madrid of Germany.

17.) 23 May 2025 07:00:35
Nick, various journos have said that stories about Edwards flying to Boston are false, and that Hughes is handling all transfer affairs anyway, so if anybody was to fly it would be him (Lewis Steele then said why would Edwards even need to fly when he can just call them on the phone)

18.) 23 May 2025 09:22:43
@ Akira,

18 May 2025 11:44:02
Liverpool won't sign wirtz.
He didn't fly in to visit liverpool, his representatives visited mancity.
And mancity will make a offer for him.
Liverpool stand no chance at the price touted.

That was your post barely 5 days ago… can you explain the sudden change of events, which lead you to claim that the transfer is now complete….

16 May 2025 14:59:46
Slot doesn't fancy jota as our leading 9 which is a great positive going into a new season. He's given him umpteen chances to show what limitations he has as a player. Jotas time has come and gone. There's no reason for him to stay next season. He's not scoring goals and the rest of his play is appalling for this level.
I'm not keen on sesko. I think he's average and will be another nunez. Go all out and go for the best if there's a chance they'll sell. Go get isak.

Batman7

1.) 16 May 2025 15:21:39
I dislike posts like this so so much. Go get Isak like its your fifa save? NEWCASTLE doesn't want to sell and have priced him at 200 million €. What are you smoking? Should we just bomb Newcastle and kidnap Isak? Eeh.

{Ed025's Note - its worth considering ASB.. :)

2.) 16 May 2025 15:22:13
If Nunez goes, I still believe Macca's info from January that we'll go all in for Osimhen. I don't see why we'd just suddenly move on as that's not our style. We've waited anywhere from 6-12 months to get the player we want in the past.

If Jota goes (which I'm unsure he actually will by the way) I reckon our top targets are the likes of Joao Pedro, Ademola Lookman and Xavi Simons; as they're equally as versatile as Jota and thus are able to play anywhere across the front 3 or in behind the front line.

3.) 16 May 2025 15:27:09
Or he’s been injured.
Watch the 101 goals video this season. Watch how often this player you’re desperate to write off was involved.
I cannot say he will remain injury free, it’s unlikely, but this dismissing of players who are part of a title winning g side is very un-Liverpool fan.

Hope you enjoy the mini season in June and the first big season between July and Sept.

4.) 16 May 2025 15:31:24
Hypothetically, if we spent all our money on Isak and therefore couldn’t buy anyone else, would that br a good window?

For me, it wouldn’t, because we have other issues we need to resolve in the squad. A backup for Grav is still high priority for me, we’d have been lost this season if he was injured.

Also if Isak was to get injured or underperform we would be worse off as we’d have already sold Jota and Nunez so would be very short of options.

I just don’t think it’s there to sign him.

Eg Could bring in Cunha and Hato for the same transfer fees.

5.) 16 May 2025 16:41:50
I’m M with you on that Navy
If we genuinely want to go deep into all the competitions we enter then this season has proven we need to add quality to the squad.

Arguably that’s another midfielder, a LB, a RB, a forward and potentially an AM.

That’s not going to be cheap- or easy- and chunking our way through a large % of our transfer budget in one player doesn’t make sense.

6.) 16 May 2025 16:49:37
It has not been proven at all. That’s hyperbole.
We got to a final.
Had a terrible game against Plymouth.
Went out on penalties to the team who will win it.
Won the league in April.

If we were on the other side to PSG, we’d be in the final in a few weeks. They’re superb caught us at our busiest period of the year but we won the league stage at a canter beating some massive teams.

7.) 16 May 2025 17:25:54
To go back to the original posters point I would fully back moving on Nunez and Jota, Nunez because well he’s useless and Jota because he can’t stay fit and clearly isint trusted by Slot. In a greedy world id love to go for Ekitike as our No9 and then maybe a more utility type player like Cunha who can play in the 10, up top or out wide…not going to happen but still more realistic and cheaper than Isak.

8.) 16 May 2025 17:41:53
Amazingly considering Jota is never fit and Darwin is never not available Jota has more league minutes this season.

The other surprising stat is that Jota can’t pass and Darwin links up the play like a reborn Bobbie. Yet Darwin’s pass completion is the lowest of the team percentage wise.

But on a good note at least he tries harder than all the other players despite Slot calling him out for his effort levels.

9.) 16 May 2025 18:11:28
The Centre Forward position must be Arne's top, top priority considering we have won the league without one this season.

We definitely need one reliable one for next season!

10.) 16 May 2025 19:35:14
@MK scouser can Xavi Simons play all over? I've only seen him playing central midfield.

I agree Osimhen will be the one we target and I think it would be a great move.

11.) 16 May 2025 21:41:25
I genuinely think people will be disappointed in both Simon's and osimhen if they sign.

Both are nowhere near the level needed, which is why so many teams keep walking away from them. They're expensive, have questionable work ethic and have had coached question their attitude.

They're big gambles to me.

12.) 17 May 2025 00:53:43
I could see Jota staying as back up to a new striker and Nuñez going.

I'm not convinced by Sesko and bunch of others either. Isak and Alvarez would be the picks for me but we won't get either.

I'd like Cunha to come in as a forward addition.

I also wonder if there's a chance Slot will use Salah through the middle some games as he ages with Frimpong on the wing and Bradly behind at RB. I can't see Bradly on the bench most of the seasons. What do you think Ed001?

13.) 17 May 2025 07:43:48
@ArneslotsBarber, totally agree. I want, I want, I want. I can’t have. I blame him. He is useless. Sack him. And so it goes.

07 May 2025 10:18:49
Edd001, reports Madrid want to sign trent for world Cup. Would he lose his signing on bonus?

Batman7

{Ed001's Note - some yes. It would cut out a huge chunk of it.}

1.) 07 May 2025 12:37:22
Edd001 do you think the club should take the reported fee of £850000 and release trent sooner? Club World Cup, Madrid stand to win 100 million if they win it. Ino it's became a p. take what we'd get for him but there's no sense in keeping him longer either. Apparently they'll pay his wages too, what's left.

{Ed001's Note - of course take it, what is the point in not doing so?}

2.) 07 May 2025 12:52:54
Edd001, ino. Sad state of affairs though. Never thought I'd be reading this even last summer. Buttons.

{Ed001's Note - take what you can get. There were always going to be issues in the changeover from Klopp. The players all idolise him and Trent won't be the only one leaving, but the difference is that the club should hopefully be a bit more ruthless now.}

3.) 07 May 2025 13:45:12
Ed001, who else is possible to leave for the reason Klopp left?

{Ed001's Note - Konate and Kelleher.}

4.) 07 May 2025 14:06:07
Tbh Konate was never going to stay here forever and Kelleher should have moved a couple of seasons ago.

But hell yes, the club needs to become more ruthless we have been like a Cadbury’s Crème Egg for too long now. Or an armadillo … whatever your fancy.

{Ed001's Note - I don't disagree, and it is just a part of life that players move on, the important bit is how we replace them. I know who I would like to replace Konate, but I promised Bazza not to jinx us by saying his name, so you will have to ask Mr Louth to tell you and don't ask me about it, because I can't say anything.}

5.) 07 May 2025 14:15:09
Come on Barry, spill the beans!

6.) 07 May 2025 14:53:24
I'm still hoping we can get konate to extend, a player of his age and quality and experience at the highest level, with all the attributes required of a top class center half, there's probably only a handful of players in Europe that ticks all of those boxes.

7.) 07 May 2025 14:59:25
He is the lad from Bournemouth. Just a guess ;)

{Ed001's Note - nope. I have deliberately avoided mentioning him so far.}

8.) 07 May 2025 15:18:35
You have never mentioned him before Ed. Just guessing, the Inter guy?

{Ed001's Note - nope. Is now playing in the Prem.}

9.) 07 May 2025 15:45:35
I think I might know who it is Ed. You've mentioned you are big fan of this player before. You said that the manager should have build the team around this player when he is being loan to other club before. That is the only player I can think of. I might be wrong though.

{Ed001's Note - I am sure I have resisted the temptation to mention him at all, that doesn't sound like him anyway. Bazza knows anyway.}

10.) 07 May 2025 15:56:31
Ed1, Nikola Milenkovic?

{Ed001's Note - nope.}

11.) 07 May 2025 16:01:07
Harry Maguire is my guess, can deputise salah on the wing when he’s at AFCON.

{Ed001's Note - that's funny.}

12.) 07 May 2025 16:11:16
£850’000 is a proper 1980’s fee.

13.) 07 May 2025 16:16:41
Never mind Ed, I thought it was Saliba. I'll just wait for Barry if he wants to spill the beans.

Anyway Ed, you think the timing of Trent announcement has anything to do with Madrid wanting him for Club World Cup? I thought the timing was a bit weird. The club usually announce thing like this just before final match of the season. Trent announce it early so that Madrid can do something for him to be released early from his contract and him become available for CWC?

{Ed001's Note - that would make sense yes.}

14.) 07 May 2025 16:25:06
Interesting ed. Zabaranyi possibly. Van hecke? From memory i don't think you are a big fan of Branhwaite. Unfortunately Yoro looks like he cluld be a good player in the future he would have been a good option last year.

{Ed001's Note - none of those. Not even close.}

15.) 07 May 2025 16:58:34
If Ed believes he shouldn't name which might bring bad luck then so be it. Maybe Ed after window closes gives clue or name him. I always looked after the players you mention as it helps me in understanding the game better. I will mostly concentrate on those guys more and more.

16.) 07 May 2025 17:01:25
Murillo at Forest maybe?

17.) 07 May 2025 17:08:56
Van de ven from spurs I reckon ???.

18.) 07 May 2025 17:21:24
Murillo isn’t it?

19.) 07 May 2025 19:06:39
Yeah, I'd go for Murillo too - that's why Ed isn't commenting on the guesses that name him!

20.) 07 May 2025 20:44:28
Romero from Spurs.

21.) 07 May 2025 22:04:54
Branthwaite.

22.) 08 May 2025 01:13:46
I think Van de Ven has world class potential but those injuries man, it's like the guy's too fast for his hamstrings.

If he could stay injury free, I'd love him at LFC.

23.) 08 May 2025 02:13:41
Van de ven's entire game is get caught out of position, sprint at top speed to recover, pull a hamstring. Sad but true.

24.) 08 May 2025 11:17:53
Murillo ?.

25.) 08 May 2025 12:32:08
I think it is Emmanuel Agbadou from Wolves who look like a good player with great ball playing ability and incredible strength on duels and one on ones. Wolves looked transformed after he came in January and became a mainstay in defence.

{Ed001's Note - I cannot confirm or deny the reliability of this guess.}

26.) 08 May 2025 13:07:53
It may not be him Ed001 :) but he is definitely the one I would like the club to look and push after if they have looked at him. Wolves went from absolutely shocking defence to suprisingly impressive within a matter of games after he came in january. it doesn't happen in such a short span with distinctly average players like Doherty and others. he has stood out remarkably few times I saw wolves play with his superb reading, positional nous and game intelligence with and without the ball and that is a sign of a really good player to me. its really surprising no one else went after him and wolves got him for relatively low fee. may be he was a bit of an unknown quantity or hidden gem. but he is definitely the one to watch out and more than capable of replacing konate even more than any other premier league players linked in medias.

{Ed001's Note - I fully agree.}

27.) 09 May 2025 04:40:08
Its amazing to see such a gem being unearthed whom I haven’t even heard about few months ago and he is already 26 or 27.is really nice to see such underrated brilliant player come as an unknown quantity and put in back to back spectacular performances and already stake a claim for being one of the better centerbacks in the league. why can’t liverpool find and take risk in such players its sad when you think about it. he came and at least tripled his value within few months for wolves if they decide to sell. i think this kind of low transfer fees deal is a no brainer. we could have brought him as a backup to compete with our centerbacks and then slot would have seen that he is more than able to be our first choice centerback. incredible strength on him as well. I remember a game with chelsea when i was stunned by his defending ability and strength. He was the best player on the pitch that day. I don’t remember who the chelsea player was may be sancho or jackson. it was 3 on 1 for chelsea on counter. he was running backwards positioning himself in such a way that the player had no way to pass the ball even when on 3 on 1.the chelsea player then tried to go to the byline. he then accelerated and went so hard on him perfectly there was a clear thud sound. the player literally bounced and flew away off him but Agbadou maybe moved an inch. that was enough for me to show his incredible strength and reading of the game. I have only seen virgil doing it so effortlessly in recent times. usually defenders panick and make mistakes or mistimes and fouls the player. Any such incredible player on our radar who is not hyped in media but are much better than the hyped ones Ed001?

27 Apr 2025 22:23:08
Edd001 Allison's contract runs out next year. Is the club going to offer him another contract or let him go?

Batman7

{Ed001's Note - I don't know mate. Sorry.}

1.) 27 Apr 2025 23:21:50
Runs out in 2027 not next year.

2.) 28 Apr 2025 03:02:34
Allisson will go next summer, he wants to return to Brazil.

3.) 28 Apr 2025 07:42:41
That will be a big loss when Ali leaves
Up the pool.

4.) 28 Apr 2025 09:58:29
Has Ali actually said he wants to leave? Earlier in the season he was reported as saying 5hat his family were happy and that he was open to extending his current contract.

5.) 28 Apr 2025 18:42:50
He has next year and an option of 2027. 2027 could be a big year as I’d expect Salah, Van Dijk to move on. Let’s enjoy the next few years!

Edd001 how does a club go about navigating contracts especially with younger players? With 4 year contracts, you're back negotiating after 2 years to avoid the 1 year situation if they're a very good player. Most players now sign 5, 6 year deals. If a player only wants to sign a 3, 4 year contract is there nothing you can do then?

Batman7

{Ed001's Note - that's the art of negotiation, to get the deal that suits both parties. When they are younger, they are usually improving, so you often renegotiate yearly, extending the term and giving them better salary as a reward for their play. It is only the older players, the ones who are at their peak in terms of quality of play and their renumeration, that you tend to wait before speaking over a new deal. It is the mid-20s that are the issue. They tend to be extremely well-paid and they may have peaked in terms of their return on the pitch, but also there is still the possibility of them improving, so they are the ones that are the worry in terms of negotiating contracts with.

Because they are so well-paid these days, you don't want to just hand over a pay rise willy-nilly, but you also want to keep them happy and performing. It is a balancing act. If you give them a longer deal, then you run the risk of their levels dipping and being stuck with them. Give them a shorter deal and you run the risk of losing them cheap. So it is on the directors to make decisions based on the data and the players' personalities as to when/if to offer new deals and how long you are willing to give them.}

1.) 13 Jun 2025 11:12:15
Well said, Ed01. Thanks for all the info you share on here.

{Ed001's Note - thanks Oli.}

12 Jun 2025 17:11:36
It's quite interesting listening to the ex Liverpool player saying he's welcome back anytime by the Liverpool owners. The fans are the club. Business men come and go. The fanbase forever remains and never forgets. Liverpool fc isn't a stepping stone for such a horrible club. He'll fit in well.

Batman7

1.) 12 Jun 2025 17:46:30
Batman, the large majority of Anfield gave him a good send off at the last game. Whatever boos there were, were easily drowned out. If you were there booing, that was your choice, but you were in the minority.

2.) 12 Jun 2025 17:53:38
We forgave Torres (albeit he only came back in a legends game), we'll forgive Trent.

RM are contemptible, but the level of vitriol between the two clubs and sets of supporters isn't anything the same as it is between us and any of our domestic rivals, especially the two Manchester clubs. It's not like he went there.

3.) 12 Jun 2025 18:18:02
Rome you're out of touch. His arrogance knows no end and most Liverpool fans are glad to see the back of him now. He won't be getting any opportunities back at the club if when it fails at Madrid. You're talking about booing lol. That lad could care less about you or any Liverpool fan. His brand, ego and beard is far more important. I'm not referring to facial hair either. You care more about appeasing a Madrid player which is pathetic. Liverpool is a massive club and you should remember that.

4.) 12 Jun 2025 18:36:21
Something red . completely different things . n if you need it explaining, then you'll never understand. as for the cheering for him on the last game Rome . we was celebrating winning the league . no one was arsed about him. even though he tried to make it about him but he roundly booed the previous game . sure people will still defend him n some will call him out.

5.) 12 Jun 2025 18:50:27
And the crusade continues.

6.) 12 Jun 2025 18:52:16
Batman, I've been going to.

7.) 12 Jun 2025 18:55:08
Just not worth the mental energy.
He’s gone.
No need to think about him.

8.) 12 Jun 2025 18:58:50
Batman, you're still going on about Trent. are you going to form a club to boo him every time he comes near anfield.

9.) 12 Jun 2025 19:01:14
Batman, I've been going to Anfield for nearly 50 years, mate, I'm not out of touch. Was there for the Arsenal and Palace games. He divided opinion. Me personally, I'm indifferent. My point is, not all Liverpool supporters despise him, like you're trying to make out. Let's agree to disagree.

He's gone now, we are still champions, and we are having the most exciting summer in our history. Shall we move on.

10.) 12 Jun 2025 19:02:09
People forgive Torres because the club was in a terrible place and was miles away from getting better, its also become less clear over time whether he forced his way out or was forced - either directly or indirectly by the clubs lack of ambition.

That was my first heartbreak, but with time most people understand and concede that we would likely do the same in the same position.

Owen will never be forgiven for going to the Mancs, and i doubt the way Trent left will ever allow him to be forgiven either.

11.) 12 Jun 2025 20:26:29
And Batman, thank you for telling me we're a massive club, I'd completely forgotten.

12.) 12 Jun 2025 20:31:43
Another TAA thread? ?
How many is that now about somebody we are not bothered about? ?.

13.) 12 Jun 2025 21:29:59
Anyone seen the paddypower skit. Brilliant. As for that Spanish speaking blurt. There is only two ways he comes back
1, giving it billy big balls saying I told you so with his medals
2, with his tale between his legs having failed .
Either way I don’t want him back. I think it’s just politics saying JH said he welcome back anytime we’ve already moved on.

14.) 12 Jun 2025 21:53:11
Yeah, we've already moved on ?
Just let it go.

I have moved on Rigsby, wouldn’t give him push off the kerb. I’m just interacting. I see you’ve moved on judging everyone with smiley faces. You don’t have to pretend. just so you know for future reference.

16.) 13 Jun 2025 05:47:10
Who’s this Trent Alexander-Arnold bloke ? Why do some people have their knickers in a twist about some bloke who has nothing to do with the club?

10 Jun 2025 22:59:12
Edd001 wirtz for 125 plus million. Ino you'll say money is irrelevant but why do you think we really went all out here? We've never done this before. The numbers including his wages are enormous. You really think he'll be a superstar?

Batman7

{Ed001's Note - because he is worth it.}

1.) 10 Jun 2025 23:40:14
He should do a loreal ad.

2.) 11 Jun 2025 02:19:44
We tried to broker a similar deal for Caicedo two years ago?

3.) 11 Jun 2025 03:41:31
He's already a superstar, at such a young age - we've got the best to come.

4.) 11 Jun 2025 07:44:43
What about van Dijk?
I think City pulled out the race because of the fee Southampton wanted and we were prepared to match. I believe we ended paying even more but it was still worth it.

5.) 11 Jun 2025 08:54:51
He rejected City Rigsby and chose us. We had to pay over the odds because Southampton reported us for tapping him up.

He was so determined to play for us that after the deal collapsed because of the tapping up allegation he waited from the summer until January to get the move. He was training with the kids for a lot of that time too.

I think the original fee was around £45m but we had to pay £75m with our tail between our legs.

10 Jun 2025 19:42:10
Edd001 would saka ever be a likely coup if he goes down to a year on his contract? I'm hoping he doesn't sign another extension this summer and sees how arsenal get on this season.

Batman7

{Ed001's Note - I very much doubt it.}

1.) 10 Jun 2025 20:43:52
Looks like Lewis Skelly and Nwaneri might not be signing so easily and only a year left after this summer.

2.) 10 Jun 2025 21:08:28
Nwaneri could be a great long term salah replacement…. not going to happen though.

3.) 10 Jun 2025 21:19:26
TSR, Lewis Skelly is 1 more year, but Nwaneri is in contract until 2030.

4.) 10 Jun 2025 21:35:37
Man. of. todd, are you not confusing Nwaneri for Saka? Cos Nwaneri is a no. 10, not a winger. Just like Lewis-Skelly is a midfielder (per Arsenal fans) and not a LB.

If we were after an English player with money aside I'd love cole palmer. Splits opinion with imo silly stuff but he's a fantastic footballer. Very very gifted. Salah has imo 1 more year left not 2 but I'd love palmer to replace salah on the right. Realistic? Absolutely not but I think the lad doesn't get enough respect. He's top drawer.

Batman7

1.) 09 Jun 2025 21:53:16
Doesn't Palmer play primarily as a number 10? I'd prefer Wirtz personally.

2.) 09 Jun 2025 22:02:05
Agree fully Thunderbird. Palmer hasn’t been very good from wide. Luckily, I think Salah still has another 3 or 4 years in his legs.

3.) 09 Jun 2025 22:57:34
Penalty merchant him.

4.) 09 Jun 2025 23:01:14
Chelsea wouldn't sell to us, right?

5.) 09 Jun 2025 23:03:40
I mean if we wanted an English lad to replace Salah then Saka would be the one.

Thankfully I think Salah has a few more years at the top.

6.) 09 Jun 2025 23:39:54
Good player but can't have Palmer and Wirtz in the same line-up. need a balanced starting 11.

7.) 10 Jun 2025 00:17:07
you can play Palmer on the right in the same way we're talking about how Wirtz can play on the left.

8.) 10 Jun 2025 01:13:11
Overrated. He’s a good player but nowhere near the player the English media try to paint him out to be.

He’s capable of some wonderful stuff but then so are a lot of Premier League players.

He was a good buy for Chelsea at £40m but it’s not worth buying him now as he’d cost more than £100m due to the hype around him and he’s just not worth anywhere near that.

9.) 10 Jun 2025 04:18:03
Palmer has never shown up in the big games as far as I can tell. He was also pretty bad the second half of the season. Granted a lot of that has to do with maresca, but he is far from being as good as people tend to think.

10.) 10 Jun 2025 07:52:20
Salahs had 1 more year left the last 4 years.

Edd001 apparently jota is on 140k a week and chiesa 160k a week. I'd hope chiesa comes good this season for his wages and more so hope jota is sold.

Edd001 there's been leaks about the dressing room tension between mbappe and vinicous jnr. Ancelloti said it was the most difficult dressing room to manage. Again, i hope it all implodes. Horrible club.

Substandard player who offer nothing but pace. Very disappointing if true. He's below any quality we have in his position.

Edd001 would you want a clause that allows us first dabs at ever buying him back? I don't know. With elliot he has it to be top class but he needs the right position and team to do it. Unfortunately it's not with us at the time but he has it in him I believe.

Batman7

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

Ed014 how do you think arsenal will fair next season? Also are you happy with arteta? I feel like if you guys don't win something or look a real top team saliba and even saka may look for the exit door.

Batman7

{Ed014's Note - I’m not worried about us at all, we’ll be fine, Arteta obviously has one last opportunity, so he best make the most of it.

I never interrupted it in the way you've done. It came across as very respectful towards the club and manager. He spoke about his own career. Elliot is a fantastic player. He needs to play regular football. Brighton would be a great move but I'd want a buy back clause. When elliots in full flow he's a top player. He needs the game time to become his best.

Ed025 he talks a good talk Bellingham. Last season was substandard and he was invisible in many important games. His inflated pr currency will allow for another similar season under alonso. English media state he's worldclass, no questioning if he is. I've seen nothing to suggest he's "worldclass". He's productive on the pitch. He's nothing that makes you go wow.

Batman7

{Ed025's Note - i tend to agree Batman..
